Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Anyone know what the message deleted by mumsnet was all about by Livingfit? - My curiousity is piqued!

Well done Bluebump and Mumto2 for your losses this week - and commiserations Going and Norma, so frustrating when you have been trying hard but have an off week. Going - can you definitely not make it to a class?, online works really well for some people but has never worked for me; I seem to have to go to a class every week to keep me on track and am a big believer in their motivational effect.

BigTillyMint - 2.5lb gained over Christmas is not a lot and will be off in no time, you'll see!

Have just finished a 30 minute run and about to shower now, and this afternoon brings the joys of Library rota (manned by parents) in my 6 year olds class (zzzzz)

NormaSknockers · 11/01/2011 11:59

Nothing to worry about &hmc& just someone not following MN rules wrt bussiness :)

hmc not &hmc& Hmm Grin

I'm not worried about the gain as I only have myself to blame, I'll soon shift it Wink

Well done on the run!

sorry not to post to everyone - I will catch up later but Sad Sad Sad have just come out of a work meeting where we have been summonsed to a work lunch on Thursday at a very posh 5* hotel. I've cheked out the menu briefly and there is literally nothing that is going to fit in my points - I tried to object and ask to go somewhere else but my boss said no Sad GUTTED! What am I going to do!

TartyMcFarty · 11/01/2011 12:15

Still going well here. Well done mumto2, that's a great loss!

I tend to have the same thing for breakfast - Shredded Wheat with skimmed and a teaspoon of sugar. Said no to toast at baby group but not sure what to have for lunch. Could do with something to give me enough energy for my spin class tonight. Any ideas? I had pasta last night so I'd rather something different.

bigTillyMint · 11/01/2011 12:19

Thanks for your words of support Smile

I have been to the gym and am going for a walk too. Anything to keep away from the fridge! And am I the only one who has stacks of chocolate, biscuits, Christmas cake, etc calling them to the cupboard?

TartyMcFarty · 11/01/2011 12:34

Can you save most of your 49 to limit the damage, sweetheart? Or could you speak to the hotel directly? I'd imagine they cater for specific dietary requirements.

sweetheart · 11/01/2011 12:41

I can but I don't want to! I want to spend my treat points on having a nice time with dh at the weekend - not a bloody business lunch Angry I know I'm very lucky with my job - I get to eat in some amazing places - but PLEASE not in January! I'm feeling paniced and out of control and want to cry Sad

Littlefish · 11/01/2011 12:53

Sweetheart - I completely understand the panicky feelings, and feeling out of control. I had them myself a few days ago and everyone on this thread talked me down!

You are in control. You can still make good food choices at the restaurant. You can choose to eat only half of everything on your plate if you really have to. You don't need to eat pudding.

There will be something you can eat. Could you phone the restaurant and make up something about a food intolerence and see if they will cook you something plainer, or with less carbs?

Good luck.

hmc · 11/01/2011 12:55

Ok thanks Norma - no scandal then!

BigTilly - I loaded dh's car boot up with left over christmas chocolates etc last week and he took it to his office (where no doubt I have been cursed by his colleagues on New Years diets Grin)

Sweetheart - tarty is right - a 5* hotel will almost invariably cater to dietary requirements, especially if you contact them in advance. They have to be uber customer focussed - that's what is expected of them. Why not ring them and ask them to do a salad nicoise or similar?

hmc · 11/01/2011 12:58

Out of interest Sweetheart - is it a London 5*? - and if so which one?

Littlefish · 11/01/2011 13:00

hmc & BigTilly - I'd told DH he has to empty the chocolate drawer (which is bursting!) and either hide it all, or take it to work. Grin

sweetheart · 11/01/2011 13:05

No it's not London. The hotel is booked so now have to find somewhere else. Boss has requested a very posh restaurant nearby with menu equally as bad! May try your suggestion of calling in advance. It's just annoying having to use my points on something I don't want to. I feel like I have been sabotaged - just need to get over it I suspect!

sweetheart · 11/01/2011 13:06

sorry to be ignoring everyone else - I will read, make notes and post to everyone later!

androbbob · 11/01/2011 13:15

Sweetheart - either contact the hotel and ss if can have a plain steak or chicken breast with salad or you will be forced to eat no breakfast or a lvery low points breakfast and a big veg stir fry for tea. It is doable and I am sure that it would not take your full 49 weekly points for both that meal and the weekend one with DH. It all comes to compromise - either you will have to rein it in for a day before and the day of each meal so you can 'save' a few daily points (not stricktly allowed but..) or suck it up and assume you will not lose any this week. The other way is to go a shedload of exercise this week to try and compensate. The key is though to point everything as much as you can so you are aware of the potential damange and to limit it as much as possible. It is a pain in the ass though I agree!

Had quite a good day so far - low PP breakfast and low PP lunch and planned limited fruit snacks today - so should be ok. Still expecting to gain tomorrow, but ok with that!

NormaSknockers · 11/01/2011 13:16

sweetheart deep breaths, you can cope with this. I can see two options here; One is to ring the resturant and ask them if there is any way they could offer you a different meal to meet your dietry needs, lie if you have too Wink Two is to take a packed lunch and either eat this prior, or after the meal and inform your boss you will be attending the meeting but you would like just a starter and nothing more or no food at all - could either of those work?

Sadly not hmc Wink

Wont a 5* restaurant be small portions anyway? Grin

Littlefish · 11/01/2011 13:20

Tiny portions in my opinion androbob Smile

Littlefish · 11/01/2011 13:25

Right ladies. A delicious, easy, almost no-point soup for you all.

This makes about 6 portions.

1 onion
1 lb courgettes
1oz butter
750ml veg stock (I use vegetable bouillon powder which is 1 point for this entire amount)

Very gently cook the onions in the butter until soft but not brown.
Chop up the courgettes.
Add them to the onions and stir a few times.
Add the vegetable stock.
Simmer for about 20 minutes.
Blend until smooth.

I've worked it out as being 1 point per portion if you get 6 portions out of the recipe.

It really is delicious, and very filling.

LeeWT · 11/01/2011 13:25

Norma good idea.. I got my first silver seven before Xmas but put 2lbs on then so mini goals are:

Lose 1.5lbs to regain first silver seven
Lose 3.5lbs (further 2lbs) to break through & leave behind 16 stone forever!
Lose 8.5lbs (further 5) to reach a stone weightloss..

Hoping to achieve first one at weigh in tomor evening!

LuckyLight · 11/01/2011 13:28

sweetheart I would be very suprised if the hotel wouldn't do you a chicken breast and some salad. Can you link us to the hotel or restaurant and we can all look at the menu? Some of it might not be as bad as you think.

I'm still laughing at the thought of Norma jogging on the spot while making her breakfast....you go girl!!!

Welcome any newbies. I am fortunate enough to be near the end of my journey with only 4-5lbs to go til I reach my goal. However, if you are someone who has a few stone to lose, please check out the photos on my profile of my friend who lost 10 stone on WW 6 years ago and has kept it off. Her face looks completely different.

Yesterday I had a double decker (8pps) and due to a low point dinner, even managed to stay within pts!!

Breakie - omlette 4 pps
Double decker 8 pps
Lunch - 2 x marmite on toast - 6pps
Dinner - chicken casserole with no pots and LOADS of veg. - 6 pps
Sunbites - 3 pps
Fruit and yog - 1 pp
1 x rich tea biscuit!

Total 29 pps!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/01/2011 14:29

hmc The classes here are not at good times for me. I have the choice of one right before my pilates class but at opposite ends of town (don't drive so a very long walk). or doing one on an evening but I woulsd have to take all three kids as DH wouldn't be home in time. My gp weighs me but as I was doing so well asked me not to come until the end of March, would like to be 2 stone 4 lbs lighter than I am now.

sweetheart · 11/01/2011 14:52

I love you ladies - thank you so much for giving me the strength and guidance I needed today!

I have phoned to book the table and asked them to prepare a salad and plain grilled chicken breast with vinagerette which I would never have normally had the balls to do! It's very boring and safe but at least I know it's not going to ruin my week - yippee Grin
thank you!!!!!!
