Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

Ishe - carbs on Propoints seem to be much higher than protein generally. The explanation I was given is that the body expends more energy breaking down protein, and uses more of it which is why the points are lower than carbs which break down more easily, and therefore, yeild calories more easily. It's something like that anyway Smile

I'm finding that I feel fuller for longer if I have protein with every meal.

LeeWT · 10/01/2011 14:50

Hi all I was hoping I could rejoin this thread? I was briefly on the old thread but my baby (15 weeks tomor) has been in and out of hospital for the last
month with bronchiolitis and pneumonia..

I joined ww in november and up until last weds had lost 6lbs due to a bit of yoyoing over Xmas.. I only started propoints properly on thurs as it's only started in ireland now and I have 37pp a day..

After even a couple of days I much prefer it but still it doesn't seem right that yesterday (my birthday) I ate and drank 62 points but am still within my limits!?

My big Q is - What are people's treats/take away of choice on propoints?? - but feel free to ignore me
if that's already been covered!

:-)

hmc · 10/01/2011 14:53

Blondes - sorry don't know about your curry!

Good to see you back Norma - we worry if you are away for more than 24 hours Wink

Well done Lucky on the 0.5lbs this week - what a transformation both for your friend (amazing) - and you! - difference from bottom picture and one up from that is major!

Littlefish - know exactly what you mean about the trackie bottoms, those differences are the real motivators aren't they! I had my own little pride moment today - nowt to do with weight loss. Went to my orthodontist and he told me I have the teeth and gums of a teenager (am 42) - lol, I'll take any compliment I can find!

Tarty - know what you mean about Shred. It can be a little joyless. I think it works though and use it a couple of times per week but in truth prefer to bounce around with Davina or run on the treadmill...

I have had a crafty weigh at home before Wednesdays official weigh in and touch wood am going to get a good number this week....

Finally - does anyone know how many propoints are in Stilton cheese? - it doesn't appear to be listed in that little booklet thingy?

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2011 14:55

hmc · 10/01/2011 14:58

LeeWT - how is your baby now? You must have been through a really anxious time!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2011 15:00

Lorelai · 10/01/2011 15:23

Hi all. I had a bit of a binge last night (Xmas chocs, have asked DH to hide them now!) but am within my weekly points so don't feel bad about it. That sais though, I track on the app and it has resetmy weekly points this morning; any ideas how I tell it my weigh in day is Wed?

Littlefish · 10/01/2011 15:41

Stilton - 4og = 4 propoints

Low point protein:

Smoked salmon - 60g = 2 points
wafer thin ham - 50g = 1 point
Smoked haddock - 150g = 4 points
Prawns - 100g = 2 points
Quorn mince - 100g = 2 points
Bacon (fat trimmed, raw) - 1 rasher (25g) = 1 point

If only I liked prawns, I'd be laughing! Smile

Littlefish · 10/01/2011 15:42
sweetheart · 10/01/2011 15:46

ok, I'm having to make notes as I catch up so appologies if I miss anything....

Hello to, gibberish, dyzzidi, isheisnthe and leeWT (hope your baby is on the mend!)

Norma you look great in your pictures! Thanks for the subscription info.

Littlefish Great news on the MRI gown, it must have felt great and left a big smile on your face. When I had my MRI last week I was lucky and they let me keep my clothes on. There was an old man however who was in a gown and accidentally flashed his willy at my sister - ha ha ha! It was very funny!

Stilton - whoever asked is 1pt per 10g

to change your weight day - again whoever asked, sorry! Go online and go into your plan manager. At the top of the page next to save it says settings. If you go into that and then go into "weight and goals" there is the option to edit your weigh in day.

Monster munch are only 3pp - yum yum, I'll be stocking up on those then Wink

I was looking through the eating out book the other day and found you can have a 2 piece KFC meal for a reasonable amount of points (I think it was about 13 or something) or you could have a chicken mcnugget meal - childs or adults depending on how many points you wanted to spend.

I'm thinking an omlette might be a good way to go but I usually put loads of cheese in - can anyone tell me what they put in theirs to make it tasty? Also not sure how I would cook it at work as we only have a microwave.

I'm feeling a bit peckish - 3pm is always my wobble time and it usually hits after dinner too when I fancy something sweet.

Been to the gym and managed a 25min walk which gives me an extra couple of points too. Didn't get about 5.5km / hr and couldn't manage a gradient which is quite frustrating but I must be patient otherwise I'll set myself back even further!

sweetheart · 10/01/2011 15:47

OMG - sorry, that turned into a massive post!

NormaSknockers · 10/01/2011 15:53

Not at all Lucky I was a 22 but I have only one very awful photo at that size and it's not a digital one. I was only just a 20 in that photo. barely squeezing into them - remember that you can't see my arse or hips in that photo Wink

ishe I think 7 points for lunch is good, I usually vary from 6-10!

OP posts:
NormaSknockers · 10/01/2011 16:02

Oh I do Blondes, I'm only just into a 14 and it could fit better, it's not quite 2 stone to go til goal, 1 stone 8lbs really, but I may lose another 7lbs once at goal. This should make me a very comfortable size 12 which is what suits me best Wink

LeeWT to see you back, sorry to hear about your bubby, hope s/he's on the mend now? Re take away I tend to have either a KFC or a chicken kebab with a few chips - both very yummy, a little naughty but easy enough to point Grin Treats I tend to have something like a crunchie or some segments of chocolata orange but I also love WW desserts, just bought some double chocolate brownie and banoffee ones from Tesco as they're on offer for £1 Grin

Grin Thank you hmc 'tis lovely to be missed Wink Tut, tut at your sneaky weigh in but glad it's a good one Wink 1oz of Stilton is 3PPs if that's any help?

sweetheart never worry about long posts and no need to apologise! Well done on all your exercise too!

Lucky well done on another loss, you're steaming ahead now!!

Blondes what kind of things do you like to eat? It's worth grabbing some WW recipe books if you can, there's some fab ideas and low PPs. Things like omlettes are always good, vegetarian lasagne made with a packet sauce as opposed to a jar sauce are good, chicken dishes, fish dishes etc :)

OP posts:
hmc · 10/01/2011 16:05

Good that you stayed within points despite the chocs Lorelai.

Thanks for the stilton info - I seem to have 5 pp left after allowing for dinner (which I'll have later following kids swimming lessons) so will tuck into some stilton now - yum!

Norma - you have a washboard stomach in your new photo!

NormaSknockers · 10/01/2011 16:06

That's because I'm sucking it in Grin

OP posts:
Lorelai · 10/01/2011 16:35

Thanks sweetheart, I guess there is no way to do it within the app - I MN on my iPod, can't get into plan manager as no flash on the iPod. Grr, will have to boot up the laptop :(

hmc thanks, but it isn't hard when you have 57 pp a day Grin

going · 10/01/2011 16:39

Norma SO inspiring to see your photos. Maybe one I'll be brave enought to post some too.

Finding it hard to keep motivated so caved in and bought an online WW subscription. I have mostly eaten total rubbish - have 2 points left for dinner so will have some cauliflower cheese soup that I made yesterday and some fruit.

I wanted to do my proper post christmas weigh in today but the batteries have run out on my wii fit board so must recharge them and do it tommorow morning - I don't mind putting it off as according to my rubbish scales I haven't lost my christmas weight! Thankfully I still fit into size 16 which I only fit into to a week or 2 before christmas. All the exercise I have been doing may not have paid off on the scales but my body certainly feels and looks different.

going · 10/01/2011 16:43

sweetheart microwave omlette

NormaSknockers · 10/01/2011 17:55

Right, better get myself ready to go to weigh in (oh dear) - I have a bet on with myself that I have gained 2lbs so anything less then that I'll be, well not pleased but you know what I mean Wink I've amended my 'now' photo to one taken this evening where I look less rough Grin

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2011 17:56

tbh i eat anything except mushrooms slime

i shall stock up on prawns and ham then :)

the ommlette i had the other day was made with 3 eggs 5pp ham 1pp and onions - i then spread on top 2 dairy lee low fat triangles oon top so was 8pp

i used to love a chicken shish kebab - used to be 4.5p assuming now would be 3/4 chicken and 3 pitta so 6/7pp?

again its not in the junk eating out guide :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2011 17:59

good luck norma

bluebump · 10/01/2011 18:45

I weighed myself this morning and i've lost 4lbs this week! Amazing!

Back to tracking it all down this week so hopefully it will be ok. I think the loss is down to the absence of booze from my evening as I had a glass of wine or three every night on my two week off Blush

LuckyLight · 10/01/2011 18:47

leeWT I like to save my treat pts for a big bag of maltesers at the weekend!!
I seem to have at least one 'treat' meal a week too. I don't really enjoy very fatty foods but even a relatively healthy 3 course meal can add up in pts.

LuckyLight · 10/01/2011 18:48

brilliant bluebump!!!

TartyMcFarty · 10/01/2011 19:02

Massive tea of pasta (6pp, greedy me!) pointless tomato-y sauce and 4pts worth of Shropshire Blue - turns out that's a massive amount. Cheese seems to have stayed the same points-wise - is that because of the protein thing?
