Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

Good morning all, another busy day yesterday I see Grin

My plans for yesterday went a little off the track, not a good few days so a gain is certain at tonights weigh in but these things happen. I'll work hard this week and it'll be gone by next week Grin

Littlefish good to hear you're feeling better :) Well done for getting back on track and sticking with it, already that's a positive change so way to go you! If you can, yes, put the scales somewhere else. Your weight can fluctuate so much from one to the next which is why you only get officially weighed once a week. Try not to weigh yourself if you can help it, sometimes a mid week weigh in can show a gain, or staying the same and that can through you off your stride so try not to keep having a sneaky peek Wink

Lucky sounds like you're being an absolute star, you're well and truly focused - apart from the constantly weighing yourself you naughty thing - do I need to confiscate your scales Wink You know you shouldn't be doing it, it could completely throw you off track if you don't see what you want to see. Try not to if you can though I know it's hard when you so want to see how it's going. Your dinner sounded lovely Grin

Collision so pleased to hear you went back to the meeting and that's not a bad gain at all for 4 weeks of not going, you'll easily shift that!

Sounds like a brilliant week so far for you Vnmum well done! Love the sound of those puds too, not seen those ones before might have to have a look, especially as they're only 4 PPs each Shock I'm rather partial to the strawberry cheesecake ones Grin

Well done for not going off track over the weekend sweetheart that can be very tricky so well done for sticking to it. I agree with what you say about Paul McKenna, while I found i just ate and ate following his plan a lot of his techniques I absolutely agree with and still follow. Like putting my fork down between each mouthful, really concentrating on what I'm eating, stopping when I think and also drinking a glass of water first to make sure I'm not just thirsty. Everything he says does make absolute sense.

Hello and welcome to Tarty you'll feel very at home here Grin Is there any exercise in particular you enjoy doing that you could increase or are you starting from scratch so to speak?

Hello and welcome to Lolly also, are you attending meetings or doing it from home? Sounds like you've had a good start to the day, keep it up Grin

So who have we got weighing in tonight?

How are we all feeling about the start to another week, ready and raring to go? Anyone having a wobble? Anyone got any new mini goals they want to reach?

Sorry I've not been getting on as much lately, MrNorma had a week off work so not been so easy to sit on my bum & MN whilst he's been about Wink He's back to work tomorrow so normal service shall be resumed Grin

Androbb my lovely stat checker, how are we doing on the challanges, anyone close to the first yet? :)

Thanks Lucky, that's really helpful. And thanks for the welcome Smile

I confess to being a little bit addicted to my scales which at the moment is a good thing as I'm seeing the Christmas weight drop off. Not always though - am really grumpy if I see a blip.

Short-term goal ... 10st 3lbs by end of Jan I think. That would take me to my pre-Christmas weight.

thighsmadeofcheddar · 10/01/2011 10:10

Hello all,

Hope everyone had good weekends.

I was goodish on Saturday and yesterday had friends over so not so good. But it's a new week and I feel in good spirits about everything. Did some miles walking the hound so hopefully that might counteract some of the damage.

Today I shall eat:

B: F&F
L: 2 x lean sausages, grilled tomato, 1 toast
S: Either soup or tomato based pasta

S: Fruit, bar

5 weeks till my big holiday and the goal is 4 pounds.

LuckyLight · 10/01/2011 11:21

I think I have just made my profile public so it should work now.

Just back from official WW WI, lost 0.5lbs, so pleased. (androbobb don't stat this as I'm using my home Saturday am weigh in on this thread, as I weigh less cos I'm in the buff!!!!). This bascially means I'm sort of back to where I was before Christmas, but 0.5 lbs lighter.

I'm feeling very motivated still. Got my final goal from my WW leader as 9st 12lbs. I want to achieve it by mid Feb. It's only 5lbs so I should be able to, esp when I start exercising again.

Good luck tonight Norma. Let us know.

TartyMcFarty · 10/01/2011 11:33

Oh my tummy is rumbling this morning. Have had 2x Shredded Wheat with skimmed milk and sugar and a banana. Will an apple cut it? Don't think so but will give it a go!

vnmum · 10/01/2011 11:38

Lucky just checked out your profile. You look great and your friend is very inspirational. what a dramatic difference and because she has kept it off for 6 years shows that it does work.

I may try and find some photos of me for my profile but i am abit shy, i do have some self esteem issues and think i look ugly in most photos(apart from my wedding day)Sad

LuckyLight · 10/01/2011 11:41

tarty I felt hungry for the first week or so, but don't get that anymore. Stick with it!!

Thanks vnmum. Would love to see more pics of you all and put faces to names Smile.

sweetheart · 10/01/2011 11:43

Morning all,

Feeling quite nice and positive this morning. The leg brace is off - woohoo!!! Which means I can drive again and in turn means I can get to the gym in my lunch hour. Going to try some walking on the treadmill today, might even see if I can manage a bit of an incline! Wow I hear you say Wink Grin

lolly welcome to the thread.

tarty I think you should ditch the scales! I used to get on them every day and became a bit obsessed by them.

thighs 4Ibs in 5 weeks should be no problem! Where are you going on holiday, anywhere nice? Dh and I are just trying to pick a destination for this year. So far we've thought of Sardinia, Hawaii, Mexico etc. I need to shift 1.5stone before we go anywhere though!

lucky great pics - you look lovely. Perhaps I should try and stick up my fat photo to keep me motivated!

norma I agree the principles of PM are absolute sense. It might sound simple but it is part of my daily lifestyle now to actually consider if I'm hungry before I eat.

Just one quick thing - not sure if anyone can help. When I went to my 1st wi last week I paid £12.95 which I thought was for the 1st month. I had a free joining voucher. Anyway, I subscribed to the monthly pass thing online and they have charged me another £19.95. I assumed this wouldn't be charged until next month - does anyone know how come I've paid twice?

Good luck everyone today xxx

NormaSknockers · 10/01/2011 12:47

Sweetheart you get charged 2 weeks before your next card is due to ensure you get your monthly pass in time for the class so you do get stung a bit to start with but now that those 2 payments are out of the way you will only get charged once a month. Hope that makes sense?

thighs that a really fab goal to set, very achievable and realistic which is perfect! Good to see you back too Grin

Wow Lucky your friend has done amazingly!! What a fabulous inspiration, she must be thrilled when she looks back and sees just how far she's come!

I think my gain is going to be a good 1-2lbs tonight, I'm due on today which doesn't help as I always gain a good few pounds through water rentention and also I didn't do very well yesterday. My own doing, will just have to face it and work mt now slightly larger bum off next week Grin

Hello All

I'm a fairly regular lurker and have been on mumsnet for years!

I am heading off to my first WW meeting either tonight or tomorrow ( Childcare dependant)

I need to lose about 4 stone in total but am setting myself a goal of 1.5 stone to begin with. I havent weighed myself since before Xmas so am expecting the worst tonight.

How is the new plan is it difficult to follow? I am planning to go to meetings and log what I eat online.

My main downfall is eating out which I do around 4 times a week! Hopefully dieting will also save me some cash.

I hope to get to know some of you ladies better in the next few weeks.

Di x

NormaSknockers · 10/01/2011 13:07

Hello and welcome dyzzi

The new plan is really very good, very flexible and although it can take a few weeks to get into swing of it, once you're there it's really like second nature. Best of luck for your first meeting, look forward to seeing you about the thread :)

Hi all

Have just joined WW after having my 3rd child in august but I have lost the calculator I bought! Can anyone tell me how much 1 slice of beans on toast is, beans were Heinz bread was bog standard white.

My stats are: 1 1st alb

Lost: 2lb first week

Am. On 29 points a day

isheisnthe · 10/01/2011 13:15

11 stone 7lb, bloody iPad auto correct!

gibbberish · 10/01/2011 13:16

Hello everyone Smile

Would very much like to join you if I may.

Have been on MN forever (although am rather an unknown due to sporadic posting) and over that time have joined various bigslim threads in a bid to lose this flab.

I have 3 stone to lose and have a ball coming up and my parents' 50th anniversary bash in March and have decided I HAVE to do something about it once and for all.

Signed up for the monthly pass today and have been having a peek at the online site. Will be attending my first class on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Have absolutely no idea how to do WW so will be looking to pick your brains, a lot!

Am going to sit down and read through the thread now Smile

Littlefish · 10/01/2011 13:25

Isheisnthe - How much did the beans weigh/how big was the tin/how many tablespoons?

Was the bread thin, medium or thick slice?

Good news! 50g wafer thin ham is only 1 propoint! That's fantastic. Grin

NormaSknockers · 10/01/2011 13:29

Hello and welcome ishe and gibberish the more the merrier - the thread is growing by the day Grin

Anything you need to know please just ask away and we'll all do our best to help you where we can, some of us very new to all of this some of us are old hands at it so between us we'll hopefully be able to show the ropes.

I've just popped 2 photos in my profile, now and then. The now photo was back in 2008 and I'd already lost a little weight but I was a size 20. The now was taken today over 3 stone lighter!

OP posts:
isheisnthe · 10/01/2011 13:37

Medium sliced bread and half a tin so weighed about 200 grams - thanks

Littlefish · 10/01/2011 13:38

Norma - those photos are fabulous. What an inspiration.

I'm not ready to post a photo yet, but promise I will do a before/after one once I've lost 3 stone.

I'm also planning a name change if I ever get to goal. I will be "VeryMuchLittlerFish" Smile

Littlefish · 10/01/2011 13:40

Slice of medium bread = 2 propoints
205g baked beans = 5 propoints

Hope that helps. Smile

gibbberish · 10/01/2011 13:40

Thanks for the welcome norma Smile

Wow, you look amazing! Can't believe you still have 2 stones to go Envy Has given me hope that this might just work for me...

Littlefish · 10/01/2011 13:42

I had a small triumph today which I know you ladies will understand.

I had to have an MRI scan on my knee. I took along some tracksuit bottoms to put on because I knew the gown/top/trousers they provide would be too small......

But they fitted! I'm sure they wouldn't have fitted 2 stone ago, but they fitted today. I was ridiculously pleased, but didn't feel I could share the news with the radiographer. Grin

NormaSknockers · 10/01/2011 13:44

Grin at not sharing it with the radiographer! Well done Littlefish I would have been pretty thrilled about that too, makes you realise how far you've come so far doesn't it?

I wouldn't say I look amazing, tired and pale perhaps Wink But thank you, you absolutely can do it. It's not easy and it's not quick but you can do it :)

isheisnthe · 10/01/2011 13:58

Crikey, 7 points on lunch! Am going to try and be so good this week, and stay away from the vino, last week of maternity leave as well for me...

Thanks for your help

LuckyLight · 10/01/2011 14:13

Great pics Norma although you don't look a size 20 in the initial photo....not being too hard on yourself are you??

isheisnthe I don't think 7 pps for lunch is unreasonable? Don't fret!! My lunch is usually 4 pps on a good day (omlette) but usually 6 pps, soup or 2 bits of toast and marmite.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/01/2011 14:21

afternoon ladies and welcome newbies

norma your pics are fab, tho not sure you need to lose another 2 stone tbh

lucky wow your friend losing 10 stone Shock

i still seem to find that my meals are 10/12 pp each which is bad, unless breakie is 5pp

had spag bol today for lunch and 60g pasta was a TINY bowl :(

options white choc is lovely and 1pp per sachet and tastes just like warm melted white choc

i cant beleive how high in pp bakes beans are Shock

used to enjoy having a tin on 2 slices of bread for 6p and now 10pp
