Had pitta 3 and lf humous 2 =5p

Sf jelly and grapes = free

I don't want to use my bonus points as out for a curry tomorrow for friends birthday and sure will eat over 59 PP - bonus and leftover 10ish for tea

Going to have 2 weetabix tomorrow with skim so 3 and 2 = 5pp

LuckyLight · 08/01/2011 12:07

Just been to cinema with kids. They had Haribo. I had a banana.

Hmm.

However, all worth it as lost 3 lbs this week.....whooop!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2011 12:29

well done lucky :) makes it worth while

what can i eat tonight from an indian takeaway? something low in fat and ideally meat and no mushrooms - thanks

sure my bonus points will ALL be used tonight Grin

mumto2andnomore · 08/01/2011 12:36

Ive stuck to my points since I started on Tuesday, not finding it too bad. A few useful things Ive found out that I hope will help someone
some slim a soups are 0pp
turkey rashers are very low, 2 is 1pp
eggs also good at 2pp each
chomps are 3pp !

Ive found its the carbs that are really high, cant believe how high jacket potatoes are ! Also baken beans are high at 5pp for half a can.

Will let you know how I get on with my weigh in on Tuesday, good luck everyone else !

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2011 12:39

mumtotwo i thought that, pasta/rice/bread/potatoes ie all carbs are all very high

vnmum · 08/01/2011 15:01

I think the carbs are high because WW are trying to encourage you to eat more protein ans less carbs as protein keeps you fuller for longer.

well done lucky on your loss

with regards to eggs, 1 egg is 2pp, 2 eggs are 4pp but 3 eggs are only 5pp

sweetheart · 08/01/2011 15:11

well done on your loss lucky and more so for showing self restraint at the cinema - not sure I could have done it Wink

I've just had a BLT for lunch - yum scrum!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2011 15:38

so more salmon and chicken

in the mail the ww booklet has a misprint - karens weight isnt now 12st 14lbs as that would be 13 stone and she has lost more than 3 lbs in that pic

not that im picky, but that would annoy me if i were karen :)

boodleboot · 08/01/2011 15:43

right sorry to post and run as per usual but am in the middle of a run of teething troubles....literally....

WI this morn, my first since 18th Dec showed a 0.5lb gain for this christmas period which i was v happy with! I actually think i have stayed the same but due to a non poo situation since wednesday, a fish and chip supper yest and two very full milky boobies this morning the scales thought different!

day 6 of the shred today and i am feeling stronger and have def got more endurance....starting to really enjoy it now and look forward to it each day....clothes are much loser, butt is tighter as is calves and abs....can't wait to move on to level 2 on day 2.....
Smile

boodleboot · 08/01/2011 15:44

day 10...not day 2....durr...

vnmum · 08/01/2011 15:50

boodle i am seeing and feeling the difference from the shred, don't think i'm actually looking forward to level 2 though Smile. thats a really good WI for after xmas too.

got to shoot, just finished shred and catching my breath before i have a run

bluebump · 08/01/2011 15:54

Well done on these losses!

Weigh in day for me (first since I put on all that Xmas weight!) is on Monday - now I just need to lose the 1/2 stone I put on and get back on it. I am easing my way in gently and not writing it all down this week but trying to be good and starting properly on Monday as I feel all inspired again!

vnmum · 08/01/2011 16:37

DH has started properly today. he has been halfheartedly attempting it but today he has been tracking and asking me about what to eat etc. he is on 42 pp and can't eat them all Envy plus his 49. I have been tracking for him today and i have actually been saying to him, oh you have 11 points left for snacks tonight, meanwhile i have 4.hmmmph

I have just done a 20 min run and i feel like i've had a much better workout than just doing the shred so maybe that is where i have bben going wrong. my body needs cardio to burn the fat. we'll see anyway

LuckyLight · 08/01/2011 18:17

Boodleboot I would say you must have definitely lost this week if you only 'gained' 0.5.lbs and haven't been for a poo, had a stodgy dinner and massive mammories. From what I can rememeber from BFing, those orbs can weigh quite a bit. I reckon next week you'll show a really good loss. Well done.

vnmum well done on shredding and running. I can't wait to get back to exercise! I'm normally more of a cardio kinda gal, so the shred will help tone although I have to admit, I'm not too bad in that dept.
Thanks for the egg point info, really useful as I often have omlette for lunch, using 2 eggs. I would def make it a 3 egg omlette for just 1 extra point.

Just back from a 5 yr olds birthday party. Her Mum is a friend of mine, also doing WW, as are a few of us, and bless her, she did some WW food for the adults, pizza and biscuits etc. However, I didn't eat any of it, as although WW, it's still points, and I decided after my naughty couple of days, that I probably ate my 49 pts then, so instead of my usual 'treat' Saturday, I'm just sticking to my 29 pps today and tomorrow. My 3 lb loss was my saturday home weigh in, but I have my official WW WI on Monday morning. I was 10st 3.5lbs last time, which was about 2 weeks before Christmas. My goal is to either STS or hopefully lose, even if just 0.5 lbs, will be great after Christmas.

I was just chuckling to myself about all the 'well done on your loss' comments....I'm so used to people saying 'Sorry for your loss', i.e. when someone dies, it looks funny to say 'well done on your loss'!!!!! Smile.

Just had a grapefruit. There was some talk of GF earlier on in thread. There is evidence to suggest it aids fat burning. Hence the GF diet of the 1970's. I read into it a bit last year, the people they studied didn't change their diet at all, or exercise, just started eating 1 GF a day. They lost average of 13 lbs in a year.
DH and I both eat 1 GF a day, the red ones are sweeter and I actually love them now, whereas initally it was a chore to eat it!!

Sorry, rambling again.

Norma where are you??? We haven't heard from you since your weigh in. Hope you are OK.

Lucky XXX

LuckyLight · 08/01/2011 18:18

P.S. vnmum My DH does it strictly too, he's on 40 pps a day. Jammy git!!!

wizzler · 08/01/2011 19:05

Feeling quite defeated by it all after yesterdays nightmare.Thought I was being really good with poached eggs on toast, and home made spag bol, but should have counted up the PPs first.Horrified by the total!

Also struggling with adding up points for family meals cooked from scratch (hubby cooks so not absolutely sure what is in it!).
Anyone tried this website? Is it correct ? www.calculator.net/weight-watchers-points-calculator.html

chocolatespiders · 08/01/2011 20:06

hi all. just a quickie question- I used to have 26 points on ww would that be thesame number of pro points?

Littlefish · 08/01/2011 20:07

I'm having a nightmare week, and need a major kick up the arse.

I weighed myself this morning, and I seem to have put on a pound since Tuesday. This is in spite of having pointed everything up and still having 30 weekly points left.

I can feel myself slipping back into desparation again, and have just eaten the marzipan and icing off the final piece of christmas cake and 4 mini sausages. I know it's not a huge amount, but it's the way that I felt when I was eating it. I just wanted to keep eating and eating and eating. In the end, I left the kitchen and have glued myself to my computer in an effort to stop the panicky feelings of being out of control again.

Since I started WW 14 weeks ago, I've had one week when I stayed the same, and one week when I put on half a pound, but have lost weight every other week. I'm saying this to make myself type it so I can see it in black and white. I need to keep telling myself that one week of staying the same or putting on a pound is not going to completely de-rail me.

I've got to see my GP in 10 days time for my monthly weigh-in. She's really fierce, and I have this ridiculous feeling of not wanting to let her down. I lost 9lbs last month and felt so proud when I told her. I've only lost 2.5lbs since last time I saw her and am already feeling worried about getting on the scales in the surgery if I put weight on this week.

Can someone please talk me down from this really uncomfortable place.

Littlefish · 08/01/2011 20:08

Chocolatespiders - no, it's completely different. Sorry!

Furball · 08/01/2011 21:26

littlefish - you've got to look at the whole picture, not just this chink.

You lost weight this week, just after christmas for one - That should make you proud

You have lost 2.5 stone already (in quite a short space of time too) - that should also make you proud.

Get your head back to where it was when you were feeling more positive. Think of how good you felt when the scales were saying you'd lost.

You are allowed a blip - it is normal, The christmas cake was the last piece you know, now it's gone.........

it's just what you do next is crucial. Get your WW mags out and read someone elses journey. Meal plan for the next week, something anything but rumage in the bloody cupboard. Clean your teeth to make your mouth not feel like wanting food.

Have a shufty around this site

You will get to where you want to go Smile

Littlefish · 08/01/2011 21:30

Thank you Furball. I'm going to keep reading and re-reading your post until I feel calm. I know you're right.

I'll go and have a look at that website.

I will get to where I want to go. Smile

Furball · 08/01/2011 21:33

littlefish you will and I bet you will look absolutely bloody fabulous.

androbbob · 08/01/2011 21:48

lucky - well done - a fine achievement and nearly at the top of the weekly weightliss list for this thread Grin

boodlebot - a minor gain which doesnt really count for this time of the year - you should be pleased with yourself!

Norma must either be having a busy week or she is being a Naughty Norma!! Only joking honest!

LITTLEFISH - erm what are you doing haveing a sneaky WI - you know that is not allowed! My home scales are showing a 3lb gain since Tuesday which is frustrating, but I am chosing to ignore them. I have my diabetic 6 monthly appt on the 17th - so just a week away and I wanted to 'wow' her but its not going to happen. I am at least 1 stone lighter than 6 months ago, but wanted to be nearer to goal. next time hey? Anyway, back to you - if you end up only losing 2.5lbs this month - that is over the Christmas / New Year holiday period and frankly anyone that loses weight over that period deserves a pat on the back. Also you need to forget about the weekly result and concentrate on the monthly losses - as long as you are losing then you wil get there, you really will. My only piece of advice is to look at those trackers from the weeks when you have been yoyo-ing and see what number of your points you have spent on carbs. I truely believe that some people's bodies cant cope with too many carbs. So if for example you have had toast for breakfast, a sandwich for lunch then a pasta dish for tea - that is an awful lot of carbs for a body to process.

The only way to see if you have some form of insulin resistance is to try one week where you concentrate on eating more protein and vegetables with meals and a smaller quantity of carbs. I usually have poridge for breakfast, soup or omlette for lunch and then say spag bol for tea - with a smaller portion of carbs and additional veg on the side.

Hope you have a better day tomorrow and manage to get back on plan.

I started the week well but fell down yesterday. Was DH's birthday and we made a choc cake. I sat there and ate a small slice which I weighed out discreetly and enjoyed it sort of. It was a bit too sweet for me liking - which is saying something for me with my sweet tooth! I then worked out the points later that night and it came out as 10 PP! Four of those were the icing. Havent had another slice since. Unfortunatley the horrible people in work brought in cherry brandy chocs and other such junk and I had 4 of them! They probably cost me about 6PP in total! Oh well - the trusty stir fry for tea tonight will hopefully save me!

androbbob · 08/01/2011 21:55

On another note - the thread has lost 18.5lbs in total this week - this takes into account the couple of minor minor gains so all in all I think it is a fantastic result for this the main week back after the holiday period.

I am expecting great things next week when all the new starters have their first WI - remember when we first started PP - we got a 59lb loss - lets see if we can crack that!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/01/2011 22:57

Bootleboot 1/2lb gain over xmas is amazing!!!!!

bluebump - good luck monday

vnmum - oh to have 42pp Envy

chocolate spiders - all have changed, if you want to message me your age/weight/height/ i can work it out for you

littlefish - your weight will go up and down during the week, which is why you should only weigh once or you get happy/upset - and i have quite a few weeks of sts :( you have done very well from what i have read so dont give up hope
