NormaSknockers · 30/12/2010 10:18

Welcome one and all - if you're following the new WW ProPoints plan then this is the thread for you!

Whether you need to lose a little or a lot you'll be right at home, we're friendly, supportive and we're all in the same boat!

androbb is our resident stats checker and helps to track what we've lost as a thread so far, nothing more motivating then seeing just how much weight is coming off.

Feel free to dive in and join us Grin

ooh new thread. exactly what a new year needs....i am going to be more motivated to post everyday rather than just weekly(ish) as i find so much happens on this thread and i always forget to congratulate or commiserate by name which must seem rude....soz ladies.

right can anyone recommend some good scales? I am going to invest in a pair - human scales not food scales....mine are a £2.99 set from asda and the gradient is v imprecise so v frustrating....

i am back on the food plan as of today and am aiming to have a very veg heavy week to try and have a bit of a cleanse and give my body a break from all that heavy carb and starchy sugary shit that i have been eating for the last week.....also going to watch the shred DVD ahead of the jan 1st start....eek.

Furball · 30/12/2010 11:06

I'm in - been laying low for a few weeks due to indulgence Smile

My class starts back 4th Jan. I need to start tracking -I really really hate tracking it peeves me more than the diet

boodleboot · 30/12/2010 11:29

use esource furball.....makes it all so much easier i find and not such a chore - i just keep the tab open all day on the comp to lessen the faffing...

froot · 30/12/2010 11:30

I'm in too....as promised I did indeed go well off plan.....Christmas,skiing,lurgy....feel rubbish now sand about 6 lb heavier!

Well done to all Of you who survived December without too much gain (or even a loss ??)

vnmum · 30/12/2010 11:33

hi ladies,

For those who will be moving over from old thread:

lucky glad you are getting back on track, it's easy to think you've blown it then just not bother tracking till next WI but you can put quite a few pounds on in that time then feel crap at the WI. It may not be what you want to hear but maybe your tonsilitis recurrence is a sign you are over doing it a bit with stress or exercise. maybe if you just tracked but gave your body a rest from exercise for a few days you might start to recover. it may mean a slower weight loss initially but may be better in the long run as you won't be getting ill regularly.

I also feel very lethargic and crave crap when i'm due on and i normally just rest for a few days and try to keep busy when i would normally crave chocolate but i do sometimes give in and have a small bar or something out of my weeklies.

androbbob glad your DD is better. there have been so many nasty bugs going around lately.

I did WI at home this morning and i have gained 1/2lb which I am fine with. by the time i get to my next official WI on jan 6th I will hopefully be showing a loss. I do have a buffet at DB on NYD which will be sausage rolls, warm buffet snacks etc so am planning on saving my 49 for then and tracking as best i can(it's not always easy when you've no packaging to go on and are just guessing)

And I am still really stiff from playing Kinect so it must be doing something

Littlefish · 30/12/2010 11:54

Helllooooo.

Furball - how are you doing? I agree with boodle about keeping e-source open all day on the computer. I do that, and it ensures that I track everything (unless I'm ignoring food eaten standing up Blush).

I didn't manage to get to a weigh in yesterday, so I think I'll wait until next week, which will then be 3 weeks without weighing in. I've got new scales at home, so I don't really know whether I've put on or not.... I'll try really hard for the next few days and see what happens.

Oh no, I'd forgotten about New Years Eve! We've got friends coming for dinner... Yikes!

vnmum well done for only putting on half a pound. That will soon be gone again. Smile

androbbob · 30/12/2010 12:05

Just marking my place on the new thread for later! Kiddies demanding food so off to the kitchen. Got a joint of ham on the slow cooker for tea - was a present off a Contractor - all 3Kg joint of it - I reckon that is about 7lbs and it is heavy! I have lost 10lbs so far and this has given me an inkling into how much I have lost (no idea from where though - but my work trousers are a bit looser!) Grin

hmc · 30/12/2010 12:24

Good to see that I am not alone in overindulging over Christmas Furball!

Furball · 30/12/2010 13:03

I was sat, coat off in Clarks yesterday waiting.......and I caught sight of myself in the mirror - twas not a good look, rolls of tummy fat etc etc etc......I must loose it.

I've just had the most delish lunch - bubble and squeak with left over veg. very filling and tasty with a blob of brown sauce

Furball · 30/12/2010 13:03

oops - meant lose not loose......Blush

hmc · 30/12/2010 13:06

It's often good to get a candid view of yourself like that - how much have you lost so far furball?

Furball · 30/12/2010 13:10

Not alot - 1/2 stone ish

I have at least 2 to get rid of.

I'm a fool - I lost it a few years ago, felt fab. but......my greed got the better of me and here I am again.

sweetandtenderhooligan · 30/12/2010 13:10

May I sign up? Joining WW next week when I've scoffed the last of the Christmas goodies when I'm feeling more motivated :)

sweetandtenderhooligan · 30/12/2010 13:12

ooh strikeout didn't work Blush

MadameG · 30/12/2010 13:32

Boodle- I bought some WW digital scales from amazon and they're v good. They were about twenty quid and they're v simple to use, you just press it with your foot to turn it on and step on. They also do BMI and body fat analysis.

Norma- just saw your reply re baby belly issues on the old thread. I'm glad you've found its gone down with weight loss ( well done by the way!). I was 13 stone the week before ds's birth and I'm now 10 st 6lb (2 st of that came off with the birth). I have another 1.5 stone to lose so here's hoping my tummy shrinks further with that!

I just ate a bag of Minstrels tho. Meh. They'll have to come off my 49 weekly bonus points.

Littlefish · 30/12/2010 15:03

Furball - you looked great when you'd lost the weight. You still look good now, but you did look fantastic! I remember how proud you were of yourself and your hard work. You CAN do it again.

I hope you understand that I don't mean that as a criticism, but more, unbiased and unsolicited opinion from someone who knows and cares about you.

Having lost nearly 2 stone, I've still got another 6 stone to lose, so I expect a lot of straight talking from you along the way (plus I expect you to refuse to let me even look at the pudding menu next time we go out!)

hmc · 30/12/2010 15:16

Don't be hard on yourself - most of us have done that, i.e. lost the weight and regained it. I got down to a size 12 after dd only to balloon uncontrollably again with ds (I spent most of that pregnancy eating for around 5, never mind 2!) He is 6 now and I am only just getting around to sorting it!

I'm off to Florida at the end of January so my new interim target is to loose 7lbs by then (should be easily achievable), since that should get me comfortably into the next size down in jeans - a size 16 (my size 18's are already loose and require a belt). Not where I want to end up since size 12 is the ultimate aim, but looks okay on my 5ft 9 inch frame, and a whole lot better than the size 20 I started at 6-7 weeks ago.

hmc · 30/12/2010 15:17

Welcome sweetandtenderhooligan Smile

Furball · 30/12/2010 15:29

Thank you both hmc and littlefish - I know I can do it, it's just a case of having to.......again!

littlefish (and you too hmc by that last post!) You have done BRILLIANTLY so far......be very proud.

I look forward to sharing a pot of tea with you next time for dessert, mind you I did opt for fruit salad last time. Those puddings were funny weren't they.

They were just slopped up on the plates, now if they don't put us off, being not worth the points, nothing will Grin

Furball · 30/12/2010 15:35

I think the other things we need to remind ourselves is that good honest healthy food is actually far tastier and mentally satisfying than any alternative..........

For me I love a really good greek salad drizzled with balsamic or a bowl of hot freshly made veg soup or a big varied fresh fruit salad. all completely tasty, healthy and harmless.....

please add your favourites too.......

Littlefish · 30/12/2010 16:14

Courgette soup with a hunk of home made bread.

Roast chicken with roast potatoes and lots of vegetables

Furball · 30/12/2010 16:20

Oi! - thats where you going wrong! say NO to homemade crusty bread. and NO to roast potatoes Grin (unless done in frylight) Wink

Furball · 30/12/2010 16:22

saying that - I'm just baking some of your flapjacks.........

Littlefish · 30/12/2010 16:28

But if the soup is zero points then there's no harm in having bread with it. Flapjacks on the other hand must be about 10ppts per piece!
