Not as much, tomhardy.

Probably the pain peaked at day 3. It only got marginally easier today- tho I did no excercise before this, so not totally suprised!

I could not walk down stairs or squat for first 3 days Grin

falsemessageoflethargy · 05/01/2011 22:08

tomhardy - thats nowhere near enough food - you really need to up the protein or you will go into starvation mode - what you need to do is eat a low fat diet (if you must) for 2-3 days then have quite a high fat day - much more effective.

Today I have had:

toast and tea for breakfast
all you can eat asian buffet for lunch (2 platefuls and a coke)
10 pieces of chocolate orange
bowl of chilli con carne
3 more cups of tea

Its quite a high fat day Grin

tomhardyismydh · 05/01/2011 22:18

then why am i so fricking fat?.

Im going to keep a tally on my callories tomorrow with out being cautious and see what I tally up.

Admittedly today I did not have cooked meal where I usualy would but normaly fairly low fat. I never eat lunch and breakfast. I tend to have toast or cereal at around 10/11 and then a cooked meal and snack between most days.

Its a metabolism thing though isnt it - infuriating but true. Arent you supposed to have breakfast for metabolism purposes though?

What does She say about such things?

glitterkitty · 05/01/2011 22:23

Is it She with caps?!?!!?

BlueCollie · 05/01/2011 22:56

VNMUM - I have ordered the cardio one as well. My trouble is motivation as I have been off work and have mainly sat about and now so sodding lazy!!! I thought I would have had 2 stone off by the time he came home at christmas but it was more like a stone on Shock My clothes don't fit anymore so feel the motivation is there now LOL Oh and Biggest Loser USA....how big were some of those guys, I couldn't afford to eat that much and it must be so bloody hard for them to cut it out and move so much!

Glitter - I am 5 foot and probably about 12 stone too.....have refused to weigh myself recently. I feel like so wobbly and uncomfortable.

MyBrilliantCareer · 05/01/2011 23:07

Oooh I like the idea of a high fat day. That was today.

Porridge and an orange for breakfast
Apple and 3 biscuits at break
Vegetable tagine for lunch and an apple
Some olives
A huge portion of spaghetti carbonara and a glass of wine

Plus: one hundred thousand cups of coffee (no sugar though - does that make it ok?!)

Piccalilli2 sorry to hear about your DH and your gran. It's not too late to join - just join in whenever. We should all still be here for a while yet, panting and sweating, whichever day we're on...

spandexqueen · 05/01/2011 23:38

hi all, my motivation for shredding is to tone up and get generally fitter.

I haven't weighed myself for years but am 5.6 tall and around size 8, but feeling VERY wobbly, especially after the Christmas choc-fest!

Used to be a total gym freak until about 6 years ago and miss that feeling of having energy (do not, however, miss the tedium of going to the gym!)

Still walking like a crab/John Wayne after doing day 1 yesterday and have decided to hold off until I'm back from my week away weekend after next. Will be cheering you all on from the sidelines...

I'll be going for it when I get back Grin

Keep going Shredheads !!!
(p.s. is it just me or does Jillian remind anyone of the girl in 3rd rock from the sun?!?)

randomama · 06/01/2011 00:37

Hello shredders, can i join too please? Had DD 6 mo ago and I'm feeling fat. I'm 5'8 and 75.5kg. Non of my clothes fit. I have read the threads, ordered the DVD, bought weights Shock, and even bought some scales that work out not only your weight but what percentage is fat and what is muscle. I NEED to actually do this but am STILL WAITING FOR MY DVD!!!! Bloody Amazon!
will do full measurements tomorrow and record on here if no one minds. Still not been dispatched so will compulsive measuring will have to do for now...

SlantyBaws · 06/01/2011 02:06

tomhardyismydh - has your yoga dvd arrived yet? I'm thinking about ordering one too, as I really need to streeeeeeeeeeeeeetch out.

DontCallMeBaby · 06/01/2011 07:51

I got caught in the fall-out from MBC's encouragement yesterday and DIDN'T have my planned day off. So that's day 5 ... I think it's getting a little easier. Maybe. In no hurry to get onto level 2 mind, I had a bit of a look the other day.

Piccalilli2 · 06/01/2011 09:02

Can't breathe without it hurting today, never mind walk down stairs. Oh the pain. So it must be doing some good, yes??

tibni · 06/01/2011 09:18

DVD not arrived yet.

Had flu before christmas so I am easing back into the gym - managed a 30min run plus weights yesterday.

My motivation is tone, I use the gym 3-5 times a week but start my 3rd part time job Monday so time will be of a premium.

Day 9, level 2.

It's really hard on the knees, and I have a dodgy one. Had to go slow with some of the mad jumping around in plank position, and the moving lunge thingies are tricky too. But done all the same.

Ladyof - it gets easier quickly - I'm sure everyone will push you to start Level 2 once we can't hear the pain in your posts any more :o

Wow, Madame Castafiore is officially the scariest shoutiest biggest motivator on the thread - I hereby name thee Madame Jillian.

MyLife, you're hilarious - the cheating is how I managed to survive the first few days, that's what she's there for!

I'm shredding because I'm still very wobbly all over and my youngest is over a year now, and I saw in the last thread that it only takes 20 minutes a day - I used to do long yoga sessions pre-kids, but no more.

clpsmum · 06/01/2011 13:32

Wow day 1 level 1 hope I last 30 days!!!0m

vnmum · 06/01/2011 13:32

day 5 level 1 just completed, i did find it a bit harder but i seemed to be able to put more effort in so thats probably why.

right, i have looked in jillians "winning by losing" book and SHE says, to aim for 2lb a week loss so as not to create burnout or bingeing. so thats a 7000 calorie deficit to create. she says not to go below 1200 cals a day as that is starvation mode and that you can give your metabolism a boost by adding up your weekly calories and then splitting them into different amounts on different days. eg
mon - 1200
tues - 1500
wed - 1200
thu - 1600
fri - 1200
sat - 1400
sun - 1700
total 9800 for the week
plenty of protein, some low GL/GI carbs and some healhty fats. no alcohol and no crap basically. HTH

Bluecollie i know what you mean about the biggest loser, they were the biggest and sickest they've ever had. i was shocked and also saddened but i do ask, how did they let themselves get so big? why didn't they think to do something when they were 6 or 7 stones overweight rather than keep eating till they are now at last chance camp, so to speak, when they now are 37 1/2 stone for example (thats how heavy michael, the italian was).
It is inspiring to watch though coz you think, if they can do it then i certainly can.

It's such a worry though as the UK is strating to follow suit. i bought some jeans in next the other day for DS who's 5 and by mistake i picked up size 5plus. i thought is was just an age size but when the cashier checked if thats what i wanted and i asked what does it mean, she said it was plus sizes for the larger kids!!! at age 5!! i was shocked and saddened by that too, shocked that they were available but sad that next are obviously catering to a market need Sad

tomhardyismydh · 06/01/2011 13:58

thanks vnmum thats helpfull would never had worked that out my self.

have had fish and chips already so that will be a fair few cals.

ln1981 · 06/01/2011 14:02

hi all.

level 1, day3 done this morning! I am not hurting this time round, which im sure can only be a good thing.

Im shredding because i still have a stone to lose and nothing seems to have worked so far!! There were countless threads on here about this dvd, so i thought why not! I havent been disappointed-before the hols, i had done it a few times and several people noticed i looked a bit trimmer, and i could only have done 10 days or something.

am very intrigued by the calorie counting business vnmum i am off to find out more...

LadyOfTheFlowers · 06/01/2011 14:06

I think swapping the calorie amounts each day is also known as 'calorie shifting'?

You have to keep changing though otherwise the body starts to recognise the pattern and adjusts the metabolism accordingly - very clever!
By eating different asmounts each day, your body is fooled and burns at the highest rate possible - or something like that - just shredded and can't be arsed to Google!

I am going to try what you have posted there - atm I am just cutting all crap, no booze, watching portion sizes, actually asking myself if I am really hungry or am I eating because I like eating - 60% of the time the reason for eating is the latter. Blush

I did extra stretching yesterday and again today and have started walking the school run again now the cold snap has passed - I will be off for another 0.7 mile (x2) powerwalk in 25 mins time.

Pushing the pushchair along this morning, I went to get up the erb, brain was willing but aching thigh wasn't - kicked the kerb and banged face on pushchair handle!! :o

Good work ladies, good work!! :)
