mybrilliantcareer STOP BEING PATHETIC!!

you know you will feel dead energised when you have finished! Maybe reward yourself withthat pint Wink.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 05/01/2011 16:30

Ha ha Brilliant! Pleased to meet you!

I did the shred, earlier, as stated, and am aching already. Confused
Is that okay? I'm clearly going to be buggered in the morning. :(

I did however feel somewhat 'energized' for about 2 hours afterwards, but I could easily go to sleep now.

MyBrilliantCareer · 05/01/2011 16:34

Thanks morethanyoubargainfor. About to leave work and will do it first thing when I get in. I hope. Then have a pint if I still want one Wink

Might make it a little bit exciting by watching doing Level 2

Lady - stretch!! Also, you'll be tempted to think that you are too sore to do it again tomorrow or the next day, but it actually hurts less if you push through.

Hear me preaching haha!!

mermaidspurse · 05/01/2011 16:37

Day 4 of level 1 - made the mistake of looking at level 2, omg.

The good news is that the pain is fading and I no longer look like john wayne, so glad it's not just me there spandexqueen

Get to it mybrilliantcareer It will all be over in 20 minutes.

MadameCastafiore · 05/01/2011 17:35

MBC stopbeing so feckin pathetic, I have just got in after being the only bloody admin on an inpatient ward so was literally running around in circles, at one point I banged my own head on the wall whilst trying to have 2 telephone conversations at once and answer an intercom. Left work at 3 to collect kids, walked them and dog round corn field (cue loads of whinging), got in made sandwiches for DH & DCs for tomorrow and then cooked kids tea, they are eating it now whilst I have quickly logged on after changing into shredding gear then have to shred before doing 2 weeks worth of ironing and tidying up so cleaner can clean tomorrow and then take dog for wee and then stumble into bed with a cup of low fat horlicks - SO STOP BEING PATHETIC!!!!

ANyway am off to shred now - for all you girls with achy muscles have a litle jog afterwards - not far but it will helpo you the next day.

And for the one of you that got the fat metabolism one - don't even go there until you have shredded for ages - thought I was going to combust internally after 30 minutes!

Off I go shredding bloody heaven.

Good luck everyone.

MadameCastafiore · 05/01/2011 17:38

Ladyoftheflowers you need to do each level for 10 days or you will really struggle each time you up the levls as your muscles won't be able to cope with it. After 10 days you should be fine.

Bloody kids are fighting over how many rusks they are allowed for pudding - they are 6 and 10! May be really bad mum and pack them off to bed now with the promise of being allowed to watch a tintin DVD - is twenty to six too early for bed????

tomhardyismydh · 05/01/2011 18:12

im actually having to walk down the stairs sidey ays as i cant raise my knees anyfurther than .1 of a mm or move my belly.

arghhhh dd of sick tomorrow so going to have to make sure I find the time to do it.

someone plese bully me into it in the morning.

OP posts:
MadameCastafiore · 05/01/2011 18:25

I find doing it at the end of the day better as have loosened up by then, may be better for you and GO FOR A SHORT RUN aftetwards - it really really helps. I was walking like had been shagged by a horse for a couple of days when I first started until I realised that she may be a great trainer but the stretches she does are no where near enough fo mere mortals!

MyBrilliantCareer · 05/01/2011 18:31

Madame you are pretty bloody scary! I'm not ever going to consider missing a day again Blush

But I've done most of Level 2. My arms are the weakest part of my body so they are a bit shaky but for the rest I'm dead fine.

Thank you all.

Tomhardy being the grateful recipient of helpful bullying myself, I offer to bully you. It's only 20 mins fgs Wink

MyBrilliantCareer · 05/01/2011 18:32

Brain is a bit oxygen starved so got carried away with the crossing out. Sorry

DontCallMeBaby · 05/01/2011 18:49

:o

Lady, size 16 here, no longer veering towards the 18 but instead the 14 due to weight loss. Definitely buxom though (34G these days, down from 36G). I have a LOVELY red Freya sports bra that I'm going to have to retire in favour of its slightly smaller black cousin, as it's just not up to the jumping jacks. If I wander too far to the right I can see myself in the mirror, and risk whacking the light fitting - the former is far more alarming.

Xales · 05/01/2011 19:03

Level 1 day 4. Done!!!

OMG

Xales · 05/01/2011 19:04

Lady size 20 - 22 here

Boobs bounce on belly, belly bounces off knees.

BlueCollie · 05/01/2011 19:22

Can I join in? I want to lose two stone in three months and feel slightly more sexy when my DH comes home from Afghan in April so have ordered the DVD. Should arrive soon. I am very grateful that I live in a bungalow after reading some posts on here LOL

vnmum · 05/01/2011 19:26

bluecollie if you do a diet aswell as the shred you should definately be on the way to your goal but you may need to add abit of extra cardio in aswell. As a fellow forces wife i know exactly where your coming from in wanting to nicely surprise him with how you look when he gets back. Our first tour i comfort ate, never again. DH has been away for courses etc and seen a difference in me when he's got back and that was just me doing pilates everyday

Menagerie · 05/01/2011 19:33

I started again today. Did some after Christmas but then chickened out when I got ill. Felt harder today than it did then. On level 1. But it is good. I felt fantastic afterwards.

tomhardyismydh · 05/01/2011 20:26

are people watching what they eat aswell. I have tryed today and so far have calculated about 600 calories.

im going to google and see how much wine I can have if im aiming no more than 1,000 to 1,250 cals a day.

Does that sound about right if I want to shed some weight? going on avarege daily intake of 2,000, if thats even correct.

well done MBC on level 2.

weedle · 05/01/2011 20:37

Still no DVD :(

Just wondering people's motivation for shredding?

Mine is because DD has just turned 1 + I still need to tone up. Losing a few lbs would be good too. I refuse to diet tho as I had hideous hyperemesis all the way through my pg so enjoying a meal or a snack is still a novelty and a real joy

Keep it up ladies :o

Thingumy · 05/01/2011 20:52

Same as you Weedle..still no flipping dvd!

Well done to those who are ploughing on through the pain, weedle and I will sit and cheer you on until we get our dvds Smile

MyBrilliantCareer · 05/01/2011 21:00

In theory yes I'm watching what I eat - but nowhere near 1250 calories per day. Just eating healthily, not avoiding all treats, but cutting back on alcohol as well.

I'm using this as a kickstart.

My motivation is that I turn 40 this year and I'm a little freaked out by it. I also want to spend it in New York (never been there) with some friends (as I'm single it'll probably be a lot of gay men) and want to usher in this next period of my life looking and feeling fabulous.

It'll just really get me down otherwise.

vnmum · 05/01/2011 21:34

tomhardy just be careful you don't cut your calorie intake too much as it can cause your body to go into starvation mode and stop you losing weight, it then cocks up your metabolism for the future, plus you need to make sure you are getting plenty of protein for all the toning and muscle building you do with the shred.

According to jillians book you need to create a calorie deficit of 3500 calories to lose 1lb this is with a mixture of cutting calories and calories used. There are quite a few calorie used calculators available if you google. I'm sure in her book she doesn't reccomend going below 1500 calories a day but i will double check tomorrow.

Anyway i have just been watching jillian at work on the new series of the biggest loser on livingit and couldn't help hearing in my head ' i have 400lb people who can do jumping jacks'. I am also going to have a look at the new british biggest loser hosted by davina when that starts on monday on itv, just to see if the trainers are as tough as jillian

clpsmum · 05/01/2011 21:37

Am I too late to join? DVD arrived today plan on starting tomorrow xx

tomhardyismydh · 05/01/2011 21:43

well I have had 2 glasses of wine so that increases it to about 1000 calories.

I have not eaten much less than normal.

I have had ceral and milk for breakfast.

a choc bar a bananna and 2 satsumas

2 boiled eggs and 2 toast for dinner.

I probably would normaly have a cooked dinner but dd was not well, so cutting out the choc bar and having the cooked meal I probably have had what I would normaly if i did not snack on crisps and biscits say.

Thanks for advice I will keep a check and make sure I dont go too low aswell.

OP posts:
Piccalilli2 · 05/01/2011 21:47

Can I join? Just started yesterday, did day 2 today despite the pain but don't know if I can manage day 3! I'm 5 ft 6 and weigh 11 st 6, hoping to lose a stone - dd1 is 5 so I have no excuse now for the 'baby weight'. Need to diet as well but I'm a bit depressed as dh is being made redundant and my gran just died so not sure I can face extreme measures right now.

glitterkitty · 05/01/2011 21:52

Day 7, Level 1 here. Bought the DVD after reading the last shred thread.

Started WW point counting yesterday (old version as thats the books I have). Am 5ft and 12st. UGH UGH UGH.

I go on holiday in 3 weeks- think I can get 3st off by then? Grin
