level 1 day 3 here also and all pain has passed. I did find the work out much easier but I was very sweaty, more so than other 2 days, so dont know if just pushed harder, but def needed that bath. I also did some basic yoga stretches after wich may have helped with the pain.

OP posts:
BalloonSlayer · 06/01/2011 14:39

Level 1 Day 2 just done.

urgh

I found it harder than yesterday. I had trainers on today and they are heavier of course. Wink Also I think I was pacing myself yesterday whereas today I tried harder.

I quite like the hurty-muscles feeling. It makes me feel as if I am toned, and so long as I don't look in the mirror, it's a nice feeling.

Well done everyone!

AIBU to wonder what 'er in the green top's stomach would look like after three kids? [sour grapes emoticon]

MyBrilliantCareer · 06/01/2011 16:00

Ah tomhardy just popped in to check you'd gotten on with it today! Well Done!

I just found out today that I have a place in the London Marathon this year (14 and a half weeks time) running for a charity so it really is time to focus {petrified emoticon]

tomhardyismydh · 06/01/2011 17:13

MBC poorly dd joined in with me and I had to give up my mat for her as she was poorly, phaa. should have sent to her to school today.

well done for the marathon, that will be motivation enough, very brave of you.

im struggling with this calorie stuff so going to give up counting. so far today I have eaten lots of very high fat foods and still only managed to clock up under 1,100 calories not counting the milk in 2 cups of coffee. giving up on that and will just aim to eat more healthily.

Level 1 day 5.

Still finding the cardio very hard.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 06/01/2011 17:57

Xales - I find the cardio the best and the strength the worst.
Odd isn't it?

I expected to find the cardio the worst.

weedle · 06/01/2011 18:20

It came, it came!

I have officially started - yay me!!

Im with you LadyOTF the strength bits are the killer for me.

The third circuit when she says "You can do this - you're strong!" I found myself shouting "I'm strong" "I'm strong" Then was most embarassed at how suckered in I was on Day 1 Blush

Xales · 06/01/2011 18:31

I think having to lug my immense bulk around helps me with the strength section where as having to actually lift it off the ground repeatedly for the cardio is hard work.

It is the jump rope part I really struggle with as there is no 'bounce' between movements to help me lift.

tomhardyismydh · 06/01/2011 18:45

xales i hate the jumprope, hate hate hate the cycle crunches. dd was moving my legs for me this morning. slight cheat but was hysterical for her. she said mummy I think you might stop breathing, here let me help you just incase, lol.

OP posts:
mermaidspurse · 06/01/2011 19:17

I hate the cardio, my asthma catches me. But find the the strength ones fine.

No aches at all so remember that weedle only a few days of pain!

kkey21 · 06/01/2011 19:19

Argh Day 1 DONE! (been here before got to day 5 and quit)

Am determined to be a success story here though in a few months so get used to my name lol!

Not adding my weight until the end but need to shift the 1st 8lb i have gained since May! It needs to be gone by June latest plus abit extra PLEASE....!

Ok, Ok bugger it i am 5ft 6 and 12 stones and 2lb

MadameCastafiore · 06/01/2011 19:47

Have copped out tonight girls - feel really tired and had a terrible day at work where I burst into tears which isn;t terribly professional!

Will get back on the wagon tomorrow though.

MBC well done on getting into the marathon - I keep saying I am going to do it before I am 40 but the years are ticking away and I am starting to think maybe it is a bad idea!

OI have lost weight just through portion control - using a small bowl for my food rather than a plate - really has stopped me over eating - I find I am much fuller quicker and don;t then pick on crap - although there is a box of maltesers and a box of fererro rocher whispering to me from the top of the dresser!

Keep it up girls - measure yourself rather than weigh yourself - the inches count not the pounds.

Menagerie · 06/01/2011 19:51

Hi day 2 of second try. Got 4 days in last time then gave up as soon as I felt poorly. It feels harder this time round.
Cardio is fine but OMG the press ups. Even following Anita I'm still trembling after two and can hardly make it to the end. Don't think I'll ever manage real ones.

I'm 5' 4" 10st 8lband want to be 9 st 7lb max, ideal weight is 9st 4. Doing half hearted Paul McKenna right now. Not eating when not hungry which is a change but eating too much once I sit down. So used to gobbling food when kids were small and still not got out of the habit.

mumof2terrors · 06/01/2011 20:04

hi i have just done day 3!!!! Just wanted to ask do you guys think I should do 20mins on the treadmill every other day or should I just do the shred again?

also what are you guys eating?

morethanyoubargainfor · 06/01/2011 20:46

MUMOF2TERRORS, todday i did a 25 min run straight after doing the day 4 level 1 shred and i have to say it was a bit of a struggle at times but i have on the whole felt so much better all day for doing it, after the run i did about 1.5 hours of walking with the dogs, so pretty fast paced.

I would continue withthe treadmill and not worry about it too much.

As to what i am eating it is the same as always, but i am a wheat free vegetarian so not much choice, i have to stick with what i know Sad.

moonstorm · 06/01/2011 21:20

About to do day 4. It does SEEM to be getting easier...

Here goes...

DontCallMeBaby · 06/01/2011 21:46

Day 6 - definitely getting easier. I want to go for a run soon though, and I really don't have the time or fitness to do both in an evening. I have a new running jacket that needs wearing!

MyBrilliantCareer · 06/01/2011 21:58

Madame sorry to hear you had a crap day.

I'm copping out tonight too, although I'm lucky I've a late start at work so will do tonight's tomorrow morning then continue on tomorrow night.

I really need to get my eating under control.

Weedle hurrah! I'm the same - the strength kills me but the cardio is fine. But Level 2, the whole bloody lot makes me breathless. Couldn't approach the last abs session - too knackered!!

We will bloody well do this! Smile

PS has anyone else noticed Natalie's constant smile? And that she cheats a little bit sometimes??

weedle · 06/01/2011 22:16

Madame Sorry to hear you had a shitty day, hope things get sorted soon

MBC Ooh marathon, that's a hell of a challenge, good for you!

mermaid and DCMB I'm glad to hear it gets easier - just dont post to say you're a total gym bunny and didn't find it that hard to begin with! [shock}

Keep it going ladies, I'm off now because I can't drink wine and type Wink

DontCallMeBaby · 06/01/2011 22:54

Oh, hell, no, I thought I was going to die on days 1 and 2!

I've now realised that I just really hate the first circuit - press-ups, jumping jacks and jumprope. Urgh. And bicycle crunches, but at least it's nearly over by then.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 07/01/2011 08:11

Well done everyone. :)

I must admit, I swapped half the bicycle crunches for normal crunches as I can 'do' those but the bicycle ones kill me - at least I am still crunching this way as I would much rather just lay there flat out until it's over!

It is day 3 for me and although the pain is slightly less, I am still achy today.

DH couldn't sleep last night and led in bed awake for an hour listening to me whimper in my sleep when I tried to move!! :o Haha.

SlantyBaws · 07/01/2011 08:29

Level 1 Day 4 just done.

Am now using proper weights (instead of tinned chick-peas) and jeez does that make a difference! Thanks for the link thomashardy. I'm going to see if they ship to Oz, or if I can find one in Borders.

I'm wondering if I can take a day off My thighs hate me and I can hardly lift the kettle to make a cup of tea.

Or should I focus on Anita's abs and push on through?

I love reading everyone's comments. Well done everyone :)

Oh and dh gave up halfway through the first circuit tonight as his shoulder and knee are giving him gyp. Any suggestions how to rope him back in?

tomhardyismydh · 07/01/2011 08:55

slantybaws...push on through it I can guarantee if you have a break the pain will be worse when you start again.

im almost pain free now but after the past 2 days did not imagine the would would ever leave me. you can do it Wink.

dd is still off sick and hasseling me to do the keep fit, i told her 1 more coffee and load the washing machine and then we will do it. she is sat here hugging and stroking the dvd case. mad child.

OP posts:
LadyOfTheFlowers · 07/01/2011 09:48

'Hugging and stroking DVD case' - I just spat apple over the laptop - thanks!! :o

falsemessageoflethargy · 07/01/2011 10:17

the pain doesnt come back even if you have 3 or 4 days off - its almost like you break through something to get there.

Level 2 still very hard though - not made any inroads into it getting better.
