Ooh, today hurt. I was a bit sore from yesterday, and then doing it all again was painful. It's funny though, the first lot of jumprope makes me want to die, but by the time it's the end and the last lot, I feel like I could go on bouncing for ages!

I'm not going to be doing this every day, is that going to really cock it up? I'm kind of doing C25K as well, and don't want to just stop as I'm actually learning to enjoy running. Plus Wednesday night swimming lessons with Sadistic Bastard Ex-Triathlete start again soon.

poorbuthappy · 02/01/2011 22:27

have just ordered it, estimated delivery 12 jan. God am so unfit, its going to kill me! Will report back. Smile unless I'm dead.

IShallWearMidnight · 02/01/2011 22:41

I'm waiting for my copy to arrive, then I'll be starting - haven't done any exercise for about 18 months when I had to give up running (knee pain, bunions), and then when I had foot surgery in September I did even less Wink. But I have at least a month before I have more surgery, so plenty of time to shred, assuming I can do it bare foot on the carpet, and don't actually need trainers [panic].

Don't care about weight loss, just want to lose some wobble be able to see my feet when I look down

MyBrilliantCareer · 02/01/2011 22:57

Madame you are on!! I'll be here every day to ensure that I do it consistently, and I expect to see you too Wink

I can get a bit obsessive as well. I'm harbouring a now not so secret ambition to run a spring marathon so will be kicking into the running as well throughout Jan.

I hope. It might be one later in the year but it will be done!!

MyBrilliantCareer · 02/01/2011 22:59

Where's weedle?

SlantyBaws · 03/01/2011 08:22

Hello everyone, can I join the thread too?

My copy (still cellophane wrapped) has been gathering dust for about 2 weeks now (well there's no point starting an exercise REGIME during the holidays is there :o )

I quake at the thought of the pain, but quite frankly I've had ENOUGH of the wobble of my jelly belly. You know when you are in the car and you go over a bump and your belly is still moving 30 seconds later? Or is that just me? Blush

I need the obsessives to egg me on here (I'm looking at you MBC and Madame )

Bring it on!

SleepyCaz · 03/01/2011 08:31

Hi ladies.

How hard is the Shred, and what sort of workout is it? Do I have to buy weights or can I improvise with something?!

Am going to start at end of Jan as have an op on Wednesday.

Excited to get my DVD though!!

:)

susall · 03/01/2011 10:04

Felling kinda horrid the last couple of days, tickly throat and nose whilst being snotty (sorry) but managed to drag myself to do one shred yesterday and will try for another today but later on, wanted to do two but think one is even pushing it.
Stupidly put the batteries in the scales on thursday and have weighed myself on friday and also today and each day shows at least a lb increase each day which would be ok if I had stuffed my face all day since then. I have dropped crisps and chocolate and will be swapping my wheat ftee bread (quite high in fat) for ryvitas as of tomorrow when last pack of bread is finished. I have had my 3 meals (weighing things like pasta and rice)and fruit for snacks and have been drinking plenty of water, which I will keep doing as I dont trust the scales any more and will get OH to put them in the attic (no way I would ever go up there) or over at my mums.
If anyone has any tips on where I am going wrong that would be great or is it the old scales are evil thing again as I was sure it was 3500 cals to put a lb on but I am 100% positive I am not over eating.

DontCallMeBaby · 03/01/2011 10:14

susall when I THOUGHT I'd put on 3lb in 2.5 days the SW lot on here told me that would be 8,400 extra calories, so not far off your 3,500 extra for a pound ... 2,800, still a HUGE amount extra to be eating per day. So I would surmise that your scales are evil.

Get the tape measure out! I lost an unfeasible amount of inches off my waist while losing a fairly modest amount of weight, and that was just diet and general exercise, not shred.

SleepyCaz I'm improvising with bottles of water for weights. So a mere half a kilo - actually fine for some of the exercises (the final strength exercise on level 1 for instance) but really quite rubbish for bicep curls, you can hardly feel them. Better than nothing though.

Thanks for that reassurance that my scales are infact evil. I wonder why women are encouraged to go by weight when so many factors that we cannot control affect what the scales say, damn blooming hormones I blame them for everything Grin. I did get the tape measure out last night and there was an inch of stomach, waist and hips so expected scales to at the least show a loss not a gain. They will be gone as OH's last hiding place was crap, think my mum will get them and then they are out of the house, she wont give them back no matter how much I plead.

weedle · 03/01/2011 12:37

MyBrilliantCareer I'm here!!

Blimey no rest for the wobbly arsed wicked eh?! Wink

My DVD hasn't come yet, I'm crossing my fingers it might come in a few days before I get too far behind.

I braved trying on pre pg jeans yesterday, 2 pairs fit and 3 pairs do up but I have too much of a muffin top to wear them.

I shall be taking measurements and hopping on the scales when it arrives.

Keep it up ladies, Im watching with interest

vnmum · 03/01/2011 12:48

i have just finished day 2 level 1. i did do week 5 day 1 of the c25k before i did the shred and it did loosen up my legs abit. i did feel i had less energy for the shred though but if i recall from last time i shredded, day 2 was the worst and then it seemed to get easier after that. My legs and arms are protesting now though and my back muscles are painful when i take a big deep breath, obviously i haven't worked them before, lol.

I am using 1.5kg weights for everything except the front arm raises with side squats in circuit 3. i swap the weights for tins of beans for those.

I have also took meaurements of arm, thigh, waist and hips and will remeasure after 30 days.

Xales · 03/01/2011 13:41

Just done level 1 day 2. Nearly managed all of it. Had to stop to catch my breath a couple of times but made it all the way to the end.

I didn't think to take any measurements. However I have plenty of clothes that I cannot get into at present so can judge if I am doing well if I get into them!

Back to work tomorrow so will have to figure out how to fit it around the rest of my day.

Good luck all

WhatTheDeuce · 03/01/2011 14:27

Day 2 complete!!

Big thanks for the extra stretches MadameCastafiore, this morning just felt sore rather than steamrollered (think I've just invented some spelling there!)

Was making more noise at the end there than during all 3 labours...don't want to think what neighbours thought.

moonstorm · 03/01/2011 15:29

Right. Day 1!

Have dvd player on, trainers and gym kit on. Measurements taken. Before photos taken Shock paeticu;arly the back view...

Now trying to feed ds to sleep in the hope that he'll sleep for 20 minutes!!!

Measurments, so I can't hide from them:

Bust 42" (doesn't quite count as bfing, so changes daily)
Waist: 32" Shock (used to be 27)
Hips: 41" Shock (Used to be 30)
Weight: 72.6 kg Shock Shock (used to be 59)
Height 5' 3"

(Will measure arms and legs later)

moonstorm · 03/01/2011 15:30

Sorry for typos! Typing one handed. He's asleep, now to put him down...

stropicana2011 · 03/01/2011 15:35

Hi, Can I join? I'm going to start tommorrow. Grin

Mmmango · 03/01/2011 15:37

Wow, busy thread. Level 1 Day 6 complete.

Thanks all for ideas post-shred - a big part of the attraction for me is keeping it short, don't think I'll be able to manage more than 20 mins a day between work and kids. However, I'm cheating improvising with the weights - using 500ml bottles of water - so could repeat with proper weights if I'm still motivated at the end. Which I obviously will be, what with the thread and everything.

I'm still breastfeeding so not bothered about losing weight. Good job too, because I'm stuffing my face as soon as i finish - today I ate an entire avocado and a bagel in the gap between finishing shred and starting dinner. Not normal, surely? I've never really exercised before...

MyBrilliantCareer · 03/01/2011 17:12

Right Day 1 Level 1 completed, followed by a 2km run, thank you Madame. Hope it means am less sore tomorrow.

I can't do the side lunged with the 3kg weights though! They are hard

moonstorm well done you for taking measurements! I'm too petrified busy to face the ugly truth do that.

stropicana2011 of course you can start tomorrow! Welcome!

MyBrilliantCareer · 03/01/2011 17:13

weedle I have my eye on you.....Wink

paarrp · 03/01/2011 18:21

hello all - well done everyone who's just started.

forced myself out of bed today to do day 5 level 1 today - really didn't want to do it but forced myself to do it - tomorrow is the last day before back to school will definitely aim to do it then as well :)

ooh - I may do measurements as well as you really do lose inches on this and it would really keep me motivated - I'd like to lose a stone but remember that last time I didn't actually lose any weight - but was certainly a small size 12 rather than a 12/14.

morethanyoubargainfor · 03/01/2011 20:17

I have just done my first day Grin.

But did i do it right? I did level 1 beginning to end then stopped.

How do i know when to do level 2?

I had my 2 weights and DH and DS 8 cheering me on from the sofa! DS did try and do a little bit but lasted approx 4 minutes Grin.

moonstorm · 03/01/2011 20:40

Completed! Think I'll feel it tomorrow...

DS1 came in (3) and was very cute when trying to join in Grin

MyBrilliantCareer · 03/01/2011 20:41

morethanyoubargainfor yep that's right.

Go on to Level 2 when you do Level 1 comfortably. Jillian suggests 10 days on each level but go up earlier if it's getting easy.
