Thingumy - dont worry, i actually quite enjoyed it, bar ahving to pause for a toilet dash when the star jumps started! Also, maybe i should have been paying more attention to the exercise, but was strangley fascinated by jillians ankle tattoo.

Yes, I noticed tattoo for first time today too...was trying to distract myself during final circuit, gaaaah!! Was bloody hard!

Washed gym kit, shaved legs (not that anyone was watching me) all in preparation, started dvd then realised couldn't find sodding weights and then had to hunt for them whilst flapping arms around to "warm up"

Must get dvd player that will pause!

Still, day 1 complete even if was only with one weight Grin

Does anyone have good stretches?

Remember my aborted attempt last time left me doing slooow, shuffling crab-like movement down stairs for about 3 days.

peaky yup I am! I did 7 days early December so I'm hoping the muscles are still in the mood...the cardio doesn't bother me but the strength does. And I really want it done by the end of boring dry Jan!!!

WTD the stretches Jillian does are good but you need to do them for longer and also twice each IME.

And definitely stretch the calves (lean against the wall with your leg straight behind you).

Also, thighs can also be extra stretched by doing a kind of lunge thing with your knees on the ground, keeping your hips forward (does that make any sense)? It also stretches your hip flexors (the front of the groin).

I did about 6 days last month, but got a bad cold and nearly expired when I tried to shred again afterwards! Had just about recovered from chest being bad when I slipped on the ice on last school run of term :( 2 weeks later and I can't walk upstairs without wincing in pain, so not ready to shred yet :(

that's my excuse anyway! just wanted to mark my place in the thread so I can find you all once I've got my sore bits sorted :)

Have done it before and didn't lose weight (not from that was the portion control that did the weight loss) but lost inches by the bucket full - put dress on the other day and although I don't weigh any more than when I was shredding I had a little tummy that you could see - NOT NICE!!

So girls if you don't mind as of tomorrow I will be joining you until I go on hols in April.

Also got to start running with DD too so that should help.

I do think going for a small run, only 5 mins after doing the DVD really helps with the muscles deciding to knobble you the next day!

bb I slipped on ice infront of school last year and had to do the whole:

When you have done the 30 days you can do her other DVDs which are about an hour long - the cardio one has me lying on the floor crying!

I am thinking about doing this, but I think my ds 2 will be a pest or shout at me whilst I am doing it.

I like the idea that it is only 20 mins. Is it interval training?

Do you all do it at the same time every day. I was thinking about trying to get up earlier and do it before the children get up.

Mypombear basically yes it is - it's 3 mins strength, 2 mins cardio and 1 min abs. x 3 (different programs) per day.

Madame I was thinking about combining 2 levels, doing 2 per day, with heavier weights, after the first 30 days - have you ever done this? I also intend to get back into distance running so need more strength than cardio.

WTD, blood sounds bad :( I think you're right though, the embarrassment it awful! I think I've bruised my coccyx so it might be a while before I can exercise. I'm glad I'd done a bit of shredding before I broke myself though as I'm doing more squatting to reach things as it's less sore than bending over!

Madame, level one of the the shred one had me crying! I'm going to pretend I didn't hear you say she had hour long dvds! Shock

I'm going to start again tomorrow - did about 10 days of shredding in December and then festivities and nights out took over. Joining this thread to make me bloody do it! I'm planning on semi-dieting this time too though, as although I felt a lot stronger last time, I didn't see much inch-loss.

I think you would get very big muscles if you did two levels with heavier weights - the only using small weights means you don;t bulk up too much but are lifting enough to build enough muscle to encourage fat burn.

Seriously do her hour long DVDs if you want to up your fitness a bit I calss myself as quite fit as swim and run and really got into the shredding but after doing 6 sets I was thinking I was going to pass out - I think there are 8 or 9 on the hour long ones!

Lots of the exercies on the hour long ones are the same as on the shred but there is a bit of kick boxing as well which is quite good fun.

I am going to bloody do this though - I want to be able to wear a bikini and not have any sort of over hang when I go away in April.

Same. This is my year. I turn 40 and It Is Time to feel fabulous, and be happy wearing a bikini for the first time in my life.

I'll think about the hour long ones after the 30 days rather than 2 sets with heavier weights though. There's also one with kettle bells I was reading about - is that the one you mean?

No I think it is the banish fat one.

Have just seen an abs one too that I haven;t got that may be what I do too after have done my 30 day shred - am aiming to get the shred over by 1st Feb and then alternate with running and more shred and the banish fat and maybe get the abs one and do that for a couople of weeks before hoilday.

I do get a bit obsessed but this really worked last time I did it - I run lots but don't find that does much to tone!

MBC I will bloody well do this and will report evry day to say I have done it, that will give me an extra little reason to.

I hope you girls all see results and get hooked too!

oh bloody hell some of you have a head start, my dvd not due yet possibly another week. im keeping an eye on this thread to see what to expect.
