Ok, so rather than wait till morning I decided to tough it out and start Level 3 tonight... jesus it's tough!

I actually have a friction burn on each knee now where I kept collapsing on the floor!

Don't really think I'm ready for it as had to keep stopping and getting my breath, but will feel like a failure if I go back to Level 2 now... can't believe I'm actually wistfully thinking of Level 2! Grin

tomhardyismydh · 24/01/2011 00:26

Seeing as am now (mostly) doing Level 2 am thinking of namechanging again to garglingmyheart Grin

herbaceous · 24/01/2011 10:07

What is this witchcraft. After doing level 2 last night, I don't ache this morning. I must be doing it wrong. In fact, I'm pretty sure I'm doing the abs bits wrongly, as it's mainly my back that hurts before my abs... Anita I am not.

DottyDot · 24/01/2011 10:56

OMG it's torture! But, got to the end of level one last night, so was quite pleased - in between the puffing and panting - couldn't speak/walk/move for a good 30 minutes....

So, will be doing Day 3 level 1 tonight and am hoping to be less of a wreck once I've done it.

Am still finding the jumping jacks almost impossible due to large norkage and screaming calves... Smile

crapbarry · 24/01/2011 11:22

hi, I've managed 9 days of level 1 so far (over the course of 11 days, would have done 11 days, but DS is going to sleep later and later which is getting in the way!), and it's definitely getting easier.

couple of questions though:

  1. is it normal to want to punch Natalie (that is her name?) for looking so smug and Anita for being so thin?
  2. does anyone else find the 1st cardio bit impossible to get through? I can do the rest, but the first cardio bit kills me.

I nearly fell asleep during the chest rises last night, due to a child who hasn't slept for longer than an hour at a time for the past week.

kittyfisherfoundit · 24/01/2011 12:27

Hello all.... Amazingly am still doing the shred- its now level 3 day 3. First time I have ever stuck to an exercise DVD! Suffering with carpet burns but apart from that not too sore.

I told my dad that I was doing full on press ups and he has phoned me in a panic that full on press ups can damage fertility!!?? Anyone heard this or know of it has any basis on truth? Am starting ivf in next few weeks and dont want to make myself any less fertile than I already ! Thanks and well done to all fellow shredders

falsemessageoflethargy · 24/01/2011 12:29

kittyfisher - I would be amazed if that wasnt a total load of bolleaux.

good luck with the ivf. Smile

notyummy · 24/01/2011 12:39

Press ups do not make you infertile!!

If you followed a full on body building programme for years, followed a ridiculously low fat diet and ate HUGE amounts of protein to give you a scary body with muscles like Arnie then that could impact on your fertility because your body fat would be too low.

But I assume you are talking about doing something like 10 full press-ups at a time, which is all the Shred asks?...And not turning yourself into an overly muscled freak covered in gravy browning Grin

notyummy · 24/01/2011 12:42

BTW - talking of press-ups. Was poorly all last week and only managed one level 1 shred and a little ponce around on the cross trainer.

Felt much better at the weekend and went to the gym. Did a cardio session and then some stretches. On the spur of the moment decided to see how many full press-ups I could do without stopping.

35 ladies, 35. Shock Am v impressed with myself. Will do it on a monthly basis as a test.

FoundWanting · 24/01/2011 13:00

Day 9, level 1. Upper body is getting a bit stronger, but I'm still so sweaty. Really dripping...ewww.

Weighed today and have stayed exactly the same, but I have lost 2 inches from my waist. I think I'm going to have to be more vigilent with my calorie consumsuption.

Joby1970 · 24/01/2011 13:22

I think Anita is too slim - she mustn't be eating anything nice otherwise she'd be bigger! I agree with you all tho I think there is something malevolant in their eyes!

kittyfisherfoundit · 24/01/2011 14:22

No gravy browning here! Thanks all for reassurance ( and good wishes on scary ivf) looks like will have to keep on with the press ups.... Was quietly hoping for a good excuse Smile

kittyfisherfoundit · 24/01/2011 14:24

35 press ups?! Wow .....

mychildrenarebarmy · 24/01/2011 15:27

crapbarry - Yes, I can't get through all of the fisrt bit of cardio. I thought it was just me being a bit pathetic exceptionally unfit! Like you I can do the rest of it but that first bit just isn't happening yet.

southeastastra · 24/01/2011 15:28

my ribs ache like mad today!

sb6699 · 24/01/2011 17:15

Day 3 - Level 1

When does this get easier? I'm finding it more difficult as the days get on.

Have a funny feeling I'm not going to be any less achey tomorrow either.

Very impressed at the 35 press ups Envy I can get through doing 10 like Anita but even the thought of doing them like Natalie fills me with horror!

BalloonSlayer · 24/01/2011 17:23

Well done everyone!

Re press-ups, it doesn't make any difference what I do with my legs, I can't get right down or I can't get up again!

I have just done Day 3 of Level 2. I can't do some of the cardios as my shins and ankles are still hurting too much (should I be worried?) but overall I'm finding it OK and not much harder than Level 1.

I can even do the squat thrusty things. I thought I couldn't but then watched more closely and saw that they don't jump in very far at all. I think I was remembering "The Superstars" from when I was a child, where your feet had to come over a line for it to count. < shows age > Blush

By crikey though I can feel my abs working with some of those exercises.

southeastastra · 24/01/2011 17:39

i just did second of level 2 and my back is sweating Grin made funny noises on the mat to ds's amusement

falsemessageoflethargy · 24/01/2011 17:48

ah BalloonSlayer - Brian Jacks once kissed me at a holiday camp after I won a prize. Those were the days. He wouldnt give me a prize now for my squat thrusty things, I do the cheaty version.

sighnomore · 24/01/2011 19:32

About to go and do day 2 of level 2 (after my day off due to mini hangover yesterday) am posting now as I fear I may not be able to move from foetus like position on living room floor afterward.... Wish me luck!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 24/01/2011 19:33

35 press ups is most impressive! Shock Envy

I did attempt L2 again today (I have done it a couple of times) but can't find enough room to move properly once I get to the skaters, which I quite enjoy. Hmm

On the bus this afternoon I had to stand and hold onto those hanging handle things Hmm and I managed the journey using only these - not the bars - was very pleased! My shoulder and arm muscles did all the work!

Could someone put a quick eye over my last post regarding what I am eating please? Do we think keeping this up could shift some flub before holiday end of June?
I really don't want to get my arse stuck in the plane seat or have thighs rubbing and getting sore. :(

sighnomore · 24/01/2011 19:34

Ps balloonslayer my shins have been aching^ too meaning having problems with cardio was wondering if I should be worried too?!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 24/01/2011 19:43

I have not done L2 much, but I know when I started taking driving lessons years ago, my shins would absolutely kill me the next day from having my foot flexed over the gas pedal - you must be using the shin 'muscle' or something? Confused

coolkat · 24/01/2011 19:45

Gutted tonight would have been day 9 but am missing for the 1st time as pulled something in my lower back / top of bum, feel ok just every now and again when I move it pulls. So back on it tomorrow..........
