Hi shredheads. Can i join? Just popped my Jillian cherry. I think my abs are going to be doing a lot of complaining tomorrow but overall it wasn't quite as bad as i was expecting. I must admit to taking it all at Anita level and my weights were two tins of coconut milk so not necessarily pushing myself to the limit. Will give it more tomorrow.

Press ups were not amazing; that's going to take a long time to get to Natalie!

MissMarjoribanks · 24/01/2011 20:31

The DVD player is out of action at the moment so I'm unable to shred. DH snapped a pin out of the scart when he was fiddling with it at the weekend.

Boo. Anyway, weighed myself yesterday and I'm 9st7oz. 4lb down! Grin My tummy and arms and possibly bum are smaller.

mothernature · 24/01/2011 21:04

day 9 Level 1 started in normal way arm flings did a Barbara Windsor under my teeshirt..... new bra required Shockcarried on best I could cupping boobs as I did star jumps and but kicks Grin

sighnomore · 24/01/2011 21:08

35 push ups!!! Wow!

crapbarry · 24/01/2011 21:23

mychildrenarebarmy · 24/01/2011 21:47

falsemessageoflethargy · 24/01/2011 21:50

pmsl at 'doing a barbara windsor' I often have to do the cupping thing after starting in my pjs Grin

DottyDot · 24/01/2011 22:39

Day 3 level 1 for me tonight and it went ok - I find myself swearing at Jillian in a most unladylike manner and my legs are kinda wobbly but my god I feel pulled in where I didn't know any muscles previously existed...

MistyB · 24/01/2011 22:46

to any shredders who had their pelvic floor removed with the placenta - does the pelvic floor get any stronger doing this or is it all just the wrong type of exercise?

falsemessageoflethargy · 24/01/2011 23:00

Just done 3/4 of level 3 with dh. Feel very very sick and dizzy - nowhere near ready for that yet.

WhatsWrongWithYou · 24/01/2011 23:01

Hi - just skimmed the last few pages here and it's very inspiring!
I did join a 'shred thread' a while back but only managed a handful of times before dropping out.
I will always find an excuse not to exercise I'm afraid. I hate the monotony of doing he same routine every day and am not convinced this is the best kind of exercise to do with a bad back, like mine.

But I have a do to go to on Friday and my dress is a bit tighter than I'd like it to be.
Realistically, if I start this tomorrow am I likely to slip into it more easily?
And will any loss show on the scales? (Weigh myself twice a day Blush and am easily dis-heartened).

WhatsWrongWithYou · 24/01/2011 23:03

Oh, and I erm lose fluid profusely when I attempt jumping-jack, so just have to do the skipping thing. (Tmi but, again, this is clearly not the right exercise for me - but if it'll solve my problem I'm willing to give it a try Smile.

herbaceous · 24/01/2011 23:14

Signnomore - I think aching in the front of shins could be a sign of shin splints, which you get by not putting your heel down enough during jumpy moves. At least, that's what I remember from my old aerobic days...

susall · 25/01/2011 08:36

Missed out the weekend here as the lure of the wine bottle was too strong (and the choc brownies and the crispe Blush.
Made up for it yesterday by doing L2 (D8) in the morning and then after reading through some of the amazon reviews where someone said they would do L2 and L3 back to back I decided to try L1 and L2 (D9) together around 3pm. It was not too bad and I will do this on the 3 mornings I have free as a booster as L1 works different muscle sets than L2.
Still dont think I have lost any weight so if anyone suffers from 'no weight loss led destruction' just step away from the scales and enjoy the changing shape of your body. I am waiting for all the dents that have appeared in the last month to join together then I will be over the moon.

BalloonSlayer · 25/01/2011 09:29

Oh that's a good idea susall

I might try that too. L1 and L2 that is, not L2 and L3 < shudder >

DottyDot · 25/01/2011 09:40

Now look, I'm Zumba-ing twice a week, Shredding at least 3 times a week, eating bugger all and I'm not losing weight.... Well, I've lost 12lb but it's not enough damn it and I seem to have lost none this week. I can't do any more!!

Grrrrr...

DottyDot · 25/01/2011 09:40

and I really hate Jillian....

peanutsmuggler · 25/01/2011 10:06

Dotty 12lbs is loads you're doing great! Have you been taking measurements as well?

How long did it take you lose the 12lbs?

LadyOfTheFlowers · 25/01/2011 10:29

Susall - Your comments about the dents joining together is brilliant, that's exactly whats it's like.

I seem to be more bumpy, especially in the tummy. If it would all join up I would be well away! :)

sighnomore · 25/01/2011 10:32

dotty I feel your pain I'm eating really well shredding at least 5 days normally 6, swimming walking cycling and wiu fit to supplement and I haven't lost 1lb

Well done on 12lb! Amazing!

Idea of l1 and l2 sounds good but I'm not sure i could manage it and what I like ahoy shred is it's only 20mins don't hunk I could spare 40mins maybe at wkends.
herbaceous thanks I'll try to get the heel down see if that helps

A question- don't know if it's just my DVD player but I can't skip through all the gumpf at the start takes about 5 or 10 mins before it gets to the mEnu it's a pain anyone else?

FoundWanting · 25/01/2011 10:35

Dotty I feel your pain. I'm shredding nearly every day plus walking 4-5 miles a day and I haven't shifted a pound. I have lost inches though. Did you measure before you started?

LadyoftheFlowers I think what you are doing sounds good. Hope you see some results soon.

Loving the Brian Jacks references. Grin DH and I were talking about him the other night. Would love to see him (in his prime) give Jillian a run for her money.

peanutsmuggler · 25/01/2011 10:37

sighnomore I can't skip all the waffle at the start either, I just use the time to get my trainers on.

DottyDot · 25/01/2011 10:55

Well it's only taken me 3 weeks but that's not the point! Grin

Have definitely lost inches - can get in smaller trousers (but not the ones smaller than that yet - obviously have about 5 different sizes in my wardrobe... Hmm).

Am just fed up because I've got a wedding to go to in 5 weeks' time and I'd wanted to lose 2 stone - doing well with the first but seem to have stalled.

Damn Jillian and her Shredding - it seems to be addictive, irritating and sod all use all at the same time Grin

falsemessageoflethargy · 25/01/2011 11:11

My dvd starts in the same place as I left it and then I just go back to the menu - dont know why you have to sit through that rubbish at the start.

Very sore on one side of my lower back today after the superman move in level 3 grr. is this a good pain or not? I've no idea.

FoundWanting · 25/01/2011 11:39

Dotty Have you tried no/low carbing for a few days to kick start your loss? I find it helps if I stall, but can't stand to do it long term.

Mind you, 12lbs in 3 weeks is a lot of weight to lose, and you are well on target for Killian's ridiculous 20 lbs in 30 days!

Just done day 10 of level 1. Should I move on to level 2? Or should I get the first one done to Natalie standards first? Still can't do 2 lots of plank-style press-ups.
