Official weigh in today after 9 days level 1 {excluding weekend}, walking 3 miles in a morning before work and eating 'good' food I can proudly inform I have lost 9lbs I hope I dont get dissapointed next week when I weigh in again.. I can see why Jillian says you will lose 20lbs...here's hoping Grin

ItsNotUnusual · 21/01/2011 22:15

Another shred thread lurked here :waves: :winces:

I did level one for 8 straight days before Christmas and was too scared to go up to level two so used all sorts of excuses to jib out. Post new year I gave myself a stern talking to and hopped back onto level one. Was surprised to pick up where I'd left off. I was expecting to go throught the first three days he'll but that didn't happen.

I'm now on day 8 of level two and can feel it getting easier. Or rather, I'm working at part natalie part anita level rather than part anita part collapse level.

I'm a size 14 wobbly all over but getting there. In the last 4 months I've lost a stone a d a half and dropped two dress sizes. I've had heaps of positive comments which is lovely.

My 20 month old son is in love with jillian and bullies me into watching the DVD. He joins in too. So cute.

My knees are a bit creaky. My trainers are good ones but may have past their useful life.

Any newbies or thread lurkers wondering whether to do it, just GO FOR IT!!!! The sense of achievement in amazing.

Sad

PLease can I have a little moan on here amongst fellow shredders. It's going to sound really silly. I said at the beginning that I was not going to try to lose weight as breastfeeding (although I'm supposed to be cutting out junk). I want to do this to tone up, increase overall strength and cardiovascular fitness. In 20 minutes...!

But since starting, I have lost 2 kilos, feel mu8ch better about myself - am holding myself better, I feel fitter and have much more energy. I have also lost 2 kilos and have managed finally to get into old (albeit 'fat day') clothes.

I was really proud until mentioning this to my mum (who is bigger than me and has always had weight issues)... Her look, snort and derisory (sp?) comment just knocked the wind out of my sails. She can't see a difference.

The thing is I don't really expect anyone to - I am at that looking worse stage (I've been there when I have dieted before) of looking flabbier than before as I am slimming, even though I am smaller and weigh less.

But I feel so down.

So0rry about this. Ignore me - i just needed to get it off my chest!!!!

Level 3 again tomorrow!!!! Smile

MissMarjoribanks · 21/01/2011 22:34

I haven't shredded for 3 days - one day because of v. achy knees, which now feel recovered and two because of things on in the evening.

No idea when I'm going to fit it in tomorrow either. I have a hair appointment at 9am, so I might get up early.

I need a kick up the arse.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 21/01/2011 22:40

Well done MotherNature - that's fantastic. :)

Moon - IGNORE, IGNORE, IGNORE!! She is a big lady and is trying to thwart your efforts.
It is well documented that when someone suddenly decides to lose weight, women who are close, either family or friends, have their noses put out of joint. Especially if they need to lose weight too - they feel pressured - if you can do it, why can't they?

My mum makes me a cup of tea and brings me biscuits to go with it.

I had a friend who used to make me quiches and cheesecakes whenever I was dieting. Hmm (Which was also a bit odd as I am a good cook/baker - part of the reason I am overweight! :o )

It sounds to me like you are doing so, so well, you should be so proud of yourself - it's not easy.

Keep it up and moan and rant if you need too - I'm sure there are loads of other shredders here who know exactly where you are coming from. :)

MissMarjoribanks · 21/01/2011 22:52

Grin Lady, it will.

I'm going to set my alarm. That will piss DH off. Grin

mothernature · 21/01/2011 22:54

Moon... I agree with ladyoftheflowers last time I lost weight I lost 3 stones dear MIL & SIL refused to believe it said I didnt look any different Shock take no notice if you see her frequently she wont notice the subtle changes that are currently happening keep it up Grin we can do it together.. :D

notyummy · 21/01/2011 22:59

Mothernature-that is fantastic weight loss!

sb6699 · 21/01/2011 23:13

Okay, I'm making a confession.

My DVD arrived yesterday and I'm too scared to put it on Blush Its still in the wrapper.

If I havent posted by 1pm tomorrow I want you all to make nasty comments in my direction.

southeastastra · 22/01/2011 11:29

i'm going to attempt level 2 later on Grin am tempted to go out and buy some nikes

southeastastra · 22/01/2011 11:33

sb you have and hour and a half to get it on!

i'm also thinking of buying a sweat band for me head

sighnomore · 22/01/2011 11:35

Well
Done everyone mothenature super weight loss and moon ignore my mother can be like that you're doing great I did nothing but eat when I was breastfeeding and now am 1 1/2 stone overweight very impressed you're doing this while still b feeding!

Well am on day 10 or 11 can't remember and tried level 2 today (had day off yesterday but swam 40legths while dd had yet lesson
Last night) I enjoyed level 2 in a sense that it was different and I was getting a bit bored with level 1 but I could finish any of the sections which was a Pity, will aim to tomorrow, found all the ab work tough and reverted to normal crunches. However my shins were nowhere near as sore today which was a bOnus!

Haven't weighed myself since my gaining 2lb disaster Sad I certainly dont look or feel any slimmer, but I do feel fitter so at least that's something?! How I'm going to lose 1 1/2 stone or even 1 though I font know, ive been eating really well!

sighnomore · 22/01/2011 12:06

couldn't finish not could must start posting on the computer rather than my phone!

falsemessageoflethargy · 22/01/2011 12:23

OK have had far too mich time off due to illness and cant seem to get back on the shredding horse Sad Must make myself or all the gains will be lost.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 22/01/2011 14:27

FalseMessage - Great name! :o
Come on! Just think - you don't want to go through all the pain again so get back on the wagon quick!
I bet you will better afterwards - not immediately after :o but you will. :)

Sb6699 - Hope you are all done! :)

Southeast - Sweatbands are a brilliant idea - I was in JJB earlier, mindlessly looking bewildered at all the stuff and didn't think of a sweatband - will have to carry on being momentarily blinded every couple of seconds by a bead of sweat instead. Hmm :o

sb6699 · 22/01/2011 14:50

Have just finished - my legs are like jelly and I actually feel a bit sick!

I need to get some decent trainers I think.

I watched level 3 and thought how the hell am I ever going to be able to do that!

vnmum · 22/01/2011 15:24

No shred again for me, I am only just eating properly after my D and V episode so thought I should give it a miss today. Will resume level 2 tomorrow all going well. On a plus point my D and V has given me a 4.5lb weight loss since thursday, lets hope I don't put too much on through the week before my next weight watchers weigh in.

Well done to all those still going

falsemessageoflethargy · 22/01/2011 16:15

A level 2 done, had to have a 5 second rest on the oblique twists but got through it apart from that.

Strange how She doesnt have a tantrumming toddler in the corner of her room - I find it enhances my experience hugely Grin

LadyOfTheFlowers · 22/01/2011 16:40

:o

Good work ladies!

becklet · 22/01/2011 16:50

Am just checking in cause I haven't for about 9 days! Have got a bit confused as to where I am because I've had a few rest days, but think I'm on about day 8-9 of Level 2, which I can't quite believe... Shock

Am feeling sooooo much fitter, but have to say that squat thrusts and plank jumps are the work of Satan, and I've found myself muttering curses at Jillian and mocking Natalie's blank expression, which makes the time go faster... Grin

Think I might try Level 3 on Monday, but am strangely nervous! Just caught up on the last few pages and everyone is doing amazingly, well done!

Ingles2 · 22/01/2011 18:05

Hiya...well done everyone, you're all doing great Smile...
I had to take a 3 day break as I went away for work. took the dvd with me but the hours were just too much and I was rolling straight into bed.
so level 1 again.
back to nearly killing me
and I'm at work again this week
pants!

FoundWanting · 22/01/2011 20:22

Haven't shredded today because I haven't been able to get near the tv. Did it in front of DS last weekend and he sat on the sofa saying, "You really are wierdy-wierd Mummy."

I would rather not have such a critical audience.

I have been out and bought some proper weights though...

southeastastra · 22/01/2011 22:11

got some extra .5kg weights today to make them 1.5, so much harder that 1kg

herbaceous · 23/01/2011 10:58

CURSES.

After a couple of days 'resting' my strained calves (in fact gadding about), did level 1 again last night, and again strained my right calf, despite a great long warm up and stretches.

Do I need new trainers, I wonder? I've had mine for years. Or just to not expect too much of muscle recovery when injured?
