I discovered something quite incredible which is a result of shredding and those that have Wii fit should try it too! :)

Get on and do a body test.

My centre of gravity is almost in the centre every time now whereas before it was always wonky and I can actually stand quite still now on the stillness test, so shredding is definately woking bits inside that we can't see.
Made me smile anyway - especially now my Wii fit age is 23! :o

kkey21 · 18/01/2011 22:33

Hi all!

I did Zumba last night for 60mins and completed my Day 10 of SHRED Level 1 tonight.

Happy to say i found the cardio much easier but can never get used to the weights, but got through it!

Level 2 for me next!

I am having (from today) cereal twice a day and a nice evening meal with the family-let's see what the next 10 days brings!

MissMarjoribanks · 18/01/2011 22:54

Menagerie - that's good to know. It's my stomach that needs the most inch loss. and my fat arse

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 19/01/2011 09:44

Where is everyone? HAve you all collapsed into sweaty heaps on the floor?

Level 2 erm day 4? Lost count, again hated circuit 1 and then found my rhythm, feeling a little tired however with 2 runs and 4 shreds in 4 days debating whether to have tomorrow off.

fishie · 19/01/2011 09:46

that is brilliant loft - I haven't got a wi but am def noticing a different in my ability to do the ghastly military press without falling over.

i still have real problems with the pendulum lunges in L2, they are just too fast for me to go deep enough. am considering a move to L3. is this insane? have done 15 sessions in 4 weeks - 11 L2, 4L1. other days were running and 2 days nothing.

herbaceous · 19/01/2011 10:22

Weight loss news: after only losing one pound in two weeks of dieting and shredding, five days later I've lost four pounds! Bizarre. Still, I'm not complaining.

Feel nice and tight in the abs area after having a go at level 2 yesterday. Back to L1 for a bit, I think, to get proper fit so I can do L2 properly...

kkey21 · 19/01/2011 10:48

Fantastic Herbaceous

Thats great! I WILL keep going. First attempt at level 2 tonight-GULP!

Whitershadeofpale · 19/01/2011 11:47

Tried moving on to level 2 last night ( a day early) but realy couldn't do a lot of it. Mainly the moving whilst in plank position stuff. SadI think I'll go back to level 1 tonight.

FoundWanting · 19/01/2011 12:12

Day 5 of level 1 done. My legs are like jelly after missing one day.

On the plus side, I think my bosom is looking a bit 'lifted' IYKWIM.

Joby1970 · 19/01/2011 13:21

FOUNDWANTING - my bosom (love that word - its not used enough) lifted too with the Shred - if some one had told me years ago that press ups etc lifted your boobs I'd have been doing them til the cows came home!!

GandTiceandaslice · 19/01/2011 13:33

I'm on day 3 of Shred. Level 1.
I still struggle with the 1st set of cardio.

thedogwalker · 19/01/2011 14:01

Hi all

Can I join this thread. I'm on day 4 of the shred, obviously still on level 1. When do you move up to level 2? Is it when you feel better or after say, 12, 15 days? Confused

I started with 1/2 kg weights but have already gone uo to 1kg weights as the others weren't heavy enough. Are there any other tips on making it a great workout?

Many thanks x

vnmum · 19/01/2011 14:40

just completed day 1 level 2. oh my god. i was dripping and had to take a few 5 sec breathers in last lot of cardio. I did seem to struggle to know if i was in the correct plank position as wasn't sure how far up my bum was IYKWIM. I was dripping and my shoulders are aching and boy could i feel the burn during the static squats and lunges, but i feel greatGrin

Did 20 mins zumba afterwards and normally put loads of effort in to make it high intensity but didn't have the strength or energy to do that today so it was at slightly lower intensity

MollyRoger · 19/01/2011 15:54

my knee is really hurting today. May have to just do the non impact stuff until i can get checked out. :(

susall · 19/01/2011 16:05

I watched level 3 earlier Shock but then I thought the same when I first watched level 2 and I love it now. I moved up as level 1 was not a challenge any more and after 5 days I still cant do the whole thing without stopping a couple of times so will stay put for now, out off puff and covered in sweat in a 20 min workout, not bad in my books.
Oh I measured myself and have dropped 1/2 inch of each leg, 1 1/2 off my waist, an inch of my hips and 2 inches off my belly in less than a month with a week off due to lurgyness. I can feel differences in other areas like the sides of my knees, the top of my hips slopes down now rather than being like a shelf and the back of my waist which seems to be more of a V now. I have not been near the scales as they are evil and hiding somewhere in my mums house, even if I begged her she would not give them back.

herbaceous · 19/01/2011 16:29

Just done level 1, day 7, and found it really, dare I say, quite easy! Then again, I wasn't doing the jumping jacks or butt kicks properly due to knackered knee and right calf muscle.

Lo and behold I've now pulled my left calf muscle too! This is not going to help tomorrow's romantic day out... We're supposed to be perusing art, wandering down the south bank, etc, but I'm going to be hobbling along, saying 'wait for me...'

Think I need more stretching before we start, whatever Jillian says about static stretches. When you're as old and stiff as me, it seems they're de rigeur!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 19/01/2011 16:40

Herb - I pulled my right calf, right in the middle, the widest bit a few days ago, then it got better then I pulled the muscle in the left leg, right below the calf. Hmm

Now it's just knees - they are okay if I do jogging and jump rope instead but hurt afterwards a bit.

While she is doing all the 'think you guys can handle it' at the start, I done some jogging then which I think helped - I had just got in from walking school run so it all contributed to the warm up.

Knees are not hurting now - 20 mins later. :)

LadyOfTheFlowers · 19/01/2011 16:41
Shock

Bloody hell!! Did some jogging, not done some jogging....

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 19/01/2011 17:09

herb Gillian is actually right about static stretching before exercise, evidence has shown they are not needed HOWEVER I would warm up properly BEFORE doing dynamic stretchs which I don't think she does. You are taught that a warm-up should be a MINIMUM of 5 minutes.

susall great results!

vnmum if you can feel your core working then you are probably in plank position.

BalloonSlayer · 19/01/2011 18:01

OMG someone mentioned bosoms!

I was going to ask: has anyone noticed theirs is looking better, because I think mine is and I am not sure if I am imagining it or not?

So - yay! - I am not imagining it.

moonstorm · 19/01/2011 19:02

Hope my BiscuitBiscuits start to lift soon! Breastfeeding 2 dses has taken them from a 36C to 38JJ Shock. They hang, but the round part is much too low!! I am now able (nearly) to do a proper press-up not using my knees!!!

MissMarjoribanks · 19/01/2011 19:21

No shred for me tonight. My knees have been achy all day. Sad I'm going to do 20 minutes on the exercise bike and some upper body toning with a resistance band.

kkey21 · 19/01/2011 20:15

First Day of level 2....quite like it, but possibly only as i was getting bored with knowing what Miss Michael's was going to say next on level 1!

Had a healthy food day but a lil treat just now of choc, just a small bit!

herbaceous · 19/01/2011 20:19

Not sure about the Biscuit biscuit] but my collarbone and shoulders feel leaner. And I think my double chin is marginally less repellent.

As for warm up, I had been spending Jillian's waffle marching about and doing grapevines, but I might pop a calf stretch in there too. Naughty naughty. Do you think Jillian might spank me?

LadyOfTheFlowers · 19/01/2011 21:27
