If you look back through the thread though sigh you'll see we have all experienced the same. It must change, it must, it must!

sighnomore · 18/01/2011 12:16

Oh please it must!! Just finished day 8 level
1 strength still my downfall.
Unfortunately I cannot run I get horrific shin pain and SPd still gives me bother. I can just about get thru the butt kicks and jumps
In level 1 my shins are killing me now
Swimming is something Enjoy (nowhere near 150 lengths wow fishie) but clearly it's not going to be the activity for weight loss. I can cycle though so should perhaps focus on that might invest in A bike machine as don't fancy out on the roads these dark nights!

Keep it up ladies :)

sighnomore · 18/01/2011 12:17

Ps hope last post makes sense damn iPhone!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 18/01/2011 12:17

I used to do competitive swimming before I met DH and got fat and we always had pasta before swimming and I was always starving straight afterwards for more carbs.

I've gone back to L1 again today as my knees are really giving me gip. I called the Doc to ask I don't want it to develop into anything and he said to take the jumping about easy but not to stop as losing weight is going to benefit my knees in the long run.
I managed jogging on the spot and marching in place of jacks, jump rope and high knees - can't do them now. :( My heart rate did slow a bit while I was marching but can't think of anything else that doesn't cripple me - might do extra punches in a burning low lunge tomorrow. :)

I took some measurements last Tuesday after my coat doing up thing so took some more today....

-1 inch off my waist
-0.5 inch off my saddlebags :)

oh and 4lbs weight lost I am going to weigh again on Sunday, just once a week. :o

Keep it up ladies!! You don't get abs like Anita for free. ;)

herbaceous · 18/01/2011 12:48

I seem to have buggered up my calf muscle: reignited an old injury I got climbing into the bath (!) by doing modified jumping jacks to try and save my knees. Grr. So will have to do shredding with no jumping at all today.

MollyRoger · 18/01/2011 13:48

Can I join you?
I'm on day 3 and my calves are screaming.
I do find afterwards though, that i actually feel all hyper and energised (despite my agony...)

chickenlickin · 18/01/2011 14:18

I have just completed my first day on level one - well say completed I couldn't! I had to finish about 4 mins early as nearly fainted! and I class myself as not that unfit! When do you do your dvd? I work have two kids blablabla and have just done it when little one asleep after lunch but 3 year old trying to join in! Now just want to die/sleep/ eat - is this normal!? I am determined to do this though

peanutsmuggler · 18/01/2011 15:08

Right I need a kick up the bum, I did 8 days of level 1 then stopped due to dodgy knees, that was a week ago. My knees feel almost completely better so I need to get back into it, I seem to have lost my motivation though.

herbaceous · 18/01/2011 15:17

Rather than do level 1, day 6 not very well due to dodgy calf, I decided to do level 2 strength bits, with very modified cardio bits, instead. Oh My God. How tough? I feel all weak and feeble, and didn't even do half of it.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 18/01/2011 16:18

Too much plank and jumping about in L2 for me. Hmm
Just do L1 and give it absolutely everything I've got.
According to her spiel at the start of the DVD you don't have to do all levels.
I'm holding onto that. :)

It gets me in a sweat so I'm praying it will be enough with the other stuff I do.

BalloonSlayer · 18/01/2011 17:23

mollyroger - welcome!

peanutsmuggler < takes a few paces back > < runs up > < kicks arse >

I lost my motivaton a bit too. I think I am bored with it all, hearing the same old same old every day. That really fake bit where she pretends to joke about not being very flexible made me grit my teeth on day 1, now on day 12 I am starting to feel violent about it.

I wish you could turn off the commentary and keep the music for the rhythm.

Am having a day off tomorrow then will try Level 2 on Thursday - for the reasons stated above. Although I am still finding Level 1 hard and it isn't getting any easier Sad

I do however have a sharp tingling pain (not unpleasant though) which keeps appearing in my tummy between my navel and my caesaren scar, an area which was always rather numb. I think it might be a muscle!! Unused for nearly 11 years and presumed extinct. It's like opening the curtains in the morning and finding a triceratops in the back garden!

southeastastra · 18/01/2011 17:24

are you meant to do this before or after dinner?

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 18/01/2011 17:40

"I wish you could turn off the commentary and keep the music for the rhythm."

You can under options I'm sure. I was annoyed as I wanted to keep the commentary but use my own music.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 18/01/2011 17:42

balloon I've just checked go to main menu and under audio options there is a begin workout with music only choice.

BalloonSlayer · 18/01/2011 17:44

Oh! Thanks. Will have a go but I am playing it on DS1's playstation so struggle with the controls. (Works well for me as I don't know how to pause it)

Will try that when I have returned chastened to Level 1 Level 2 is annoying me.

MollyRoger · 18/01/2011 18:05

yy, i want sub titles, so i can play my own music but still see when i'm supposed to be doing stuff IYSWIM.

MollyRoger · 18/01/2011 18:06

anyone else think aneeta has eyes of a killer? Grin

herbaceous · 18/01/2011 18:30

And Natalie looks a bit half-witted at times?

Menagerie · 18/01/2011 18:47

Haven't lost a pound but measured myself today, and have lost 2 inches off waist and one from hips. Nothing from my elephantine thighs though. But it's a start...I was feeling all demotivated by lack of weight loss but this has spurred me on a bit.

Keep at it, shredders.

notyummy · 18/01/2011 18:52

Well done Menagerie!

Am sick. No exercise if any sort for me. Feeling v sorry for myself.

vnmum · 18/01/2011 19:17

i watched level 2 and 3 this afternoon to see what i am letting my self in for when i start level 2. I feel bulk buying of tena lady may be in order for level 3! Grin

peanutsmuggler · 18/01/2011 20:22

Thanks for the kick up the butt Balloonslayer!

Well I gave it my best shot but had to stop half way through, my knees are knackered! I'm going to look for a pilates or yoga dvd and give that a go, maybe come back to the shred once I'm a bit more flexible.

mothernature · 18/01/2011 20:50

Just done day 6 level 1 after a 3 day break, I have added walking 3 miles a day to my exercise... was very happy to find I managed to do almost all of it with out stopping...much... Smile planning to carry it through to the end of the week then moving on to level 2 - hubby still doing it with me Grin

MissMarjoribanks · 18/01/2011 21:00

Well done to all the weight/inches losers. I'm not weighing myself until Sunday and I can't see any inch loss. In fact, my stomach looks bigger. I don't know whether this is because the muscles are tighter so my fat is hanging down more. Sad

I had an extra kick up the arse this morning when I put a pair of pre-pregnancy trousers on and could just do them up, but before I'd even had my breakfast they were digging in so hard that they made me feel sick. I changed. I'd like to get back into them.

Anyhow, Day 2 Level 2 (Day 9). My knees ache. I had to swap to Anita's lower impact for some of the stuff. I also can't lift my leg up very high without falling over. Felt good afterwards though.

Menagerie · 18/01/2011 22:26

Miss marjorie - my stomach swelled up too at one point. I stopped doing the abs for a few days. Think the muscles rebelled and puffed out to scare me out of making them do anything else. But once they'd calmed down, I'd lost inches there more than elsewhere.
