You should not be weighing yourself more than once a week. If you are then stop. If you can bear it dont weigh yourself at all and just go on how your clothes feel and most importantly how you feel. Even if you are not losing inches and pounds right away if you continue with the exercise and the healthy eating then you will start to change shape. What most peoples downfall is when they start to exercise is they start to reward themselves with treats, make sure you are not doing this. Make your goals unrelated to a lb figure i.e. get into a particular pair of jeans or go for a walk up a hill without having to stop.

trinity welcome and go finish the workout!

notyummy hope you feel better soon.

ballon congrats on the cardio breakthru Smile

vnmum oh good grief I dread to think what level 10 looks like Wink

avacadoes don't use your pelvic floor as an excuse to stop shredding use it as an execuse to do more pelvic floor exercises!

false exercise is great for PMT as it releases endorphins which should boost your mood! Hope the cold is better soon, the general rule of thumb is if you are unwell from the neck up it's ok to exercise but if it's from the neck down then you should rest.

Menagerie It might be worth testing yourself anyway, you can see how here, very simple test

What else did I want to say? Oh yes. DONT WEIGH YOURSELF MORE THAN ONCE A WEEK.

FoundWanting · 17/01/2011 14:21

Just done day 4 of level 1, and as I was in my undies, I weighed myself.

Now, I have read your wise words and feel better about that. Grin

It seems as though the strength and abs bits are getting easier, but the cardio is harder. Hmm

BalloonSlayer · 17/01/2011 14:25

Libra I weigh myself more than once a day! I can't help it! It fascinates me. Grin

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 17/01/2011 14:57

I would but I'm still shaking and feeling sick
I've just started taking my ad's again today after losing them for a week and they always make me feel like shit so maybe its that not helping
tomorrow is another day Smile

Libra you spotted my typo [embarrassed]. God could you imagine a level 10!

Well i got my day 10 of level 1 done today and it is definately easier even though i have had days off. I am going to give level 2 a try tomorrow and aim to not have as many days off. I managed a 20min run after todays shred aswell so feel quite loose in the legs at the moment. I too am going to have to work on my pelvic floors, i got one of those electric pelvic floor toners after DD was born but i have a habit of forgetting to use it, hence my thanks to Tena lady during the shred Grin

herbaceous · 17/01/2011 15:44

Just done level 1, day 5, with extra warm up at the beginning, and modified jumping jacks to try and save my knees. Now I've pulled a muscle in the achilles neck of the woods. FGS.

Strength bits getting easier, though will NEVER be able to do a press up. Still doing them Anita-style.

Never had a problem with my pelvic floor. Thank god for Caesarians!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 17/01/2011 16:47

Thanks for that LostGirl .

Actually, now you mention water retention I am due any day now and when I used to go to WW I didn't bother going to weigh-in when I was due.
I can see/feel I am losing so was expecting to see a difference on the scales - plus that's all the Doc ever wants to know. Hmm

Doing another L2 later. :)

falsemessageoflethargy · 17/01/2011 17:23

My cold has moved ot my chest and am hacking about the house - am actually missing the shredding Shock.

southeastastra · 17/01/2011 17:38

on day 6 (missed one) of level one, discovered it takes about one hour to fully get back to room temperature! i think i'll have to wash my hair daily at this rate. press ups hardest bit now.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 17/01/2011 17:55

day 6 and you're still struggling, I haven't even managed the whole of level one

MissMarjoribanks · 17/01/2011 18:56

At 8pm, I am tackling Level 2 for the first time.

I'll check in afterwards.

PS My weight is fluctuating wildly between 9st 8oz and 9st 12oz. No idea what it actually is.

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 17/01/2011 19:07

I dream of being 9st 8

that is what I have been all the time as an adult unless pregnant until neil died and then I ate the world to find comfort, didn't work just made me feel shit and made me fat

I'm actually now the weight I was when I was 8 months pregnant with dd1 Sad

I'm still a healthy weight for my height but I have stopped looking in the mirror

DontCallMeBaby · 17/01/2011 19:54

Ow, Trinity, I've only been on ADs once and fortunately never lost them but the first week on them was just dismal ... definitely just look after yourself and take it easy until you're back on an even keel.

Hey, I think I've just found a muscle I didn't have before, and not cos it hurts either ... though I think it will in the morning. Day 2 of Level 2, it huuuurt - and to add insult to injury, my cat has just jumped on my lap, started falling off, and saved himself with his claws.

MissMarjoribanks · 17/01/2011 20:49

Trinity - you can be 9st8 again. Take it slowly and you'll get there. I was 11st after having DS, and I only got to 33 weeks. God only knows what I would have been if I'd gone to term. It has come off slowly, but it has come off.

And I agree with DCMB about the ADs. The first week was dreadful, the second, appalling, and on the third, the clouds started to lift. Just do little bits at a time. I bet you, once the ADs start to work, you'll steam through Level 1.

And...Grin

Level 2 was nowhere near as bad as I feared. I actually feel properly worked out and actually quite invigorated. I struggled once again with co-ordination on some of the twisty moves, but that came in a few days with Level 1 so I'm hoping the same will happen with L2.

I was not helped, however, by DH taking the piss by jumping round the room. Angry Wink

IShallWearMidnight · 17/01/2011 22:15

well, I'm officially pissed off. Royal Mail have managed not to deliver my DVD (along with quite a lot of other mail I suspect, seeing as how I only had two deliveries last week Angry), so they are sending out a new copy for free, which is supposed to be here tomorrow Hmm.

I have finally Had Enough, so I've bought Level 1 from Itunes, and am starting first thing tomorrow morning, as DH is doign the school run then going straight out for a meeting, and DD1 won't be back till 10.30.

So that gives me 13 days till I'm in plaster/on crutches - will that be long enough to see a difference, d'you reckon?

falsemessageoflethargy · 17/01/2011 22:21

Just done another level 2 even with my chesty cold and had to go easy on it - I now cant move my legs and have a weird left buttock pain. tsk

DontCallMeBaby · 17/01/2011 22:49

I have been googling shoulder muscles. Deltoids! I have deltoids! Whoohoo, who knew? :o

Oh - DH is requesting a weigh-in. This may be interesting.

susall · 18/01/2011 07:54

Well I managed day 3 level 2 yesterday and the ache has almost gone this morning so thats a bonus now I can pick things up of the floor without pain. I cant weigh myself as I have no scales in the house but I have noticed some areas are smoother or slope differently. I have dents in areas of my legs where the fats now gone, looks odd but makes me want to keep going to join up the dents. Also when I lie down there is a dip in my belly fat that was not there a couple of days ago woo hoo!!!

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 18/01/2011 08:29

false please take it easy with a chest cold. You won't lose any fitness with a couple of days rest.

missmajore you are braver than me, I won't even let DH into the room whilst I am shredding.

trinity keep going you will get to the end of level 1 and you will see a difference in the mirror. Hope the ADs kick in for you soon.

Level 2 Day 3 today, I dialed in the first circuit but put a rocket up my butt for the second and third circuit and now dripping. Pretty. Hopefully a run at lunch if I can co-ordinate DH, DD and DS.

Keep going everyone Smile

IShallWearMidnight · 18/01/2011 09:57

whew, managed Level 1 (just). Second circuit was hard and I have no arm muscles whatsoever, but I made it to the end. Couldn't quite co-ordinate the crunches at the end (bicycle crunches?), btu I'll have another look later and hopefully I can manage them tomorrow assuming I can move.

Ingles2 · 18/01/2011 10:08

level 1 day 4 completed. Not so sweaty today and if I'm honest, not so out of breath either. might be time to move up a level in the next couple of days.
Am hoping to check in later and see Trinity has had another go at level 1 Grin

sighnomore · 18/01/2011 10:44

Did level 1 day 8 yesterday just about to do day 9 when do you move up? I'm fine with the cardio and abs but still struggling a lot with the strength. My goal is to lose at least 1stone , ivealways been around 9 1/2 stone when not pregnant but my boy was born a year and a half ago ad I'm still 11 stone no excuse Sad

So I've been eating well and shredding away plus a swim and walkig and this week I've..... Gained 2lbs I could cry Sad

Well done to all those up on level 2 hoping to join you soon!

notyummy · 18/01/2011 11:05

Sigh- don't be downhearted. You are doing the right thing! Is your period due at all??

The only other thing I have been told by a sports scientist is that swimming is the worst cardio for loosing weight- better than doing nothing, but nit as good as running/cycling/crosstrainer. The reason apparently is that other forms of cardio work far better as appetite suppressants because they draw the blood away from your stomach/intestine and you dont feel hungry. This is because you get v hot and the blood goes to the surface of your body to cool it. Swimming does not make you hot to anywhere near the same level and does not have this effect, so you feel hungry straight away after it and are more likely to overeat.

fishie · 18/01/2011 11:10

yes i didn't lose much weight swimming, although i did enough to be all red and sweaty (150 lengths a week fast backstroke). but it did get me fit enough to start running reasonably well.

I have heard it said that one is hungry after moderate exercise and not after vigourous exercise which is true for me, I am always rumbling tum after a walk or swim, but just thirsty after run or jillian.

Have been running like a nutter with new iphone gps but have also got heavier. curse of jillian?
