Thanks for the advice about the abs - I'll try again later.

Avacadoes, I have exactly the same problem. In fact, I think I might be worse than you (sneezing can occasionally cause a problem & being sick nearly always). I'm trying my Aquaflex right now, but I'm wondering if I may need to see a doctor, because I went to the toilet immediately before & I still had quite a problem. I'm hoping it'll improve when I find my abs!

DontCallMeBaby · 16/01/2011 19:37

Live reporting here: omg, I am now MUCH sweatier than after mini-zumba, and closely resemble a beetroot. So many evil, twisty jumping things.

I would like my last words to be recorded as: "Jillian's crop top in Level 2 is really NOT up to the demands being placed upon it".

notyummy · 16/01/2011 20:05
Grin

You should see the tangerine coloured bikini top she wears in 'Burn Fat, Boost Metabolism'! Not flattering IMHO.

MissMarjoribanks · 16/01/2011 20:35

Level 1, Day 7. Apart from the press ups I've got everything nailed now and the cardio is not really pushing me hard enough.

I suspect I will regret that comment when I do Level 2 tomorrow.

I'm also after some proper hand weights - looked at Argos and everywhere only has 1! Totally useless.

belindarose · 16/01/2011 20:41

My handweights were tesco.
Who can manage full press ups? I don't think I ever will.

MissMarjoribanks · 16/01/2011 20:57

I'd just like to add that I don't think Argos is the only place in the world that sells hand weights, but rather there is one right by my office so I could have popped there at lunchtime...

I've found this lot here on the web - anyone know if they are reputable?

Ingles2 · 16/01/2011 21:25

ok, so I kicked the boys off the tv this morning for day 2.
All fine....
Then I walked the dog this pm... I normally run with her, but thought I'd take it easy...
tonight, I can barely move Blush
everything aches, even my thighs and I have quite beefy runners thighs already
notyummy wow! you are way more dedicated than me
very impressed. I'm going to shred again tomorrow and run on tuesday I think. I'm not sure how much more my muscles can take atm.
respect I know exactly what you mean, I felt I was straining my neck today. Will take Libras advice I think
see you tomorrow

DontCallMeBaby · 16/01/2011 22:33

MissMarjoribanks - quick google on that company name doesn't bring up any negative reviews, and they're cited as stockists in fitness articles in the Telegraph, Guardian and Daily Mail, which bodes well (yes, even the DM, though it pains me to say it).

moonstorm · 16/01/2011 22:49

I am definitely starting to feel better for this, have't lost much weight, but it is going down and have been able to go out in non pregnancy clothes...

Still hard to keep going, though Grin

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 17/01/2011 08:55

Just a quick dash in as late for nursery run, after Level 2 and run last night was wuss this morning and just did Level 1.

Someone mentioned not being able to do press-ups even in box position - try them against the wall instead.

Will read up later.

Happy Monday everyone Smile

vnmum · 17/01/2011 09:41

hi all,

I've not been on for a few days. I haven't shred since thursday when i did day 9 of level 10. I just didn't have time on friday or over the weekend. I had a party with DS sat am then went shopping, then was packing the house again yesterday. I need to do day 10 today and a run to counteract the crap i've eaten over the weekend and to get me back into the swing of things.
Only thing is i've got 2 kids at home and i'm knackered because DD (3) was up most of the night being sick and DS looked pale this morning and complaining of sore stomach and couldn't eat his breakfast so i thought i had better kehim off school just in case he started.

I'm just going to have to make them watch me shred then use the TV to babysit while i jump on the treadmill i think.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 17/01/2011 09:43

Well done everyone who is still shredding away and hello to all the new crazy ladies shredders. :)

With regards weight loss I would like to ask some questions too.

My baby belly seems to be deflating (can't decide if it looks better or worse tbh) and my chubby bits seem softer when I poke them - I assume this means it's 'melting' a bit?

My thighs immediately above the knees seem considerably thinner but this is making my saddle bags look ever BIGGER. :( Bloody pear shape.

My arse looks generally a bit smaller too.

As a result I thought I would weigh myself on the Wii - lo, I am 2 lbs heavier.Shock

I ran screeching to DH in the other room and told him, said I think it must be because I am building a bit of muscle. He gently suggested it probably wasn't muscle weight with it only being day 12 and maybe my body wasn't 'settled' into the new routine yet.

It could be muscle weight couldn't it? PLease tell me it could.

Day 12 is a massive achievement for me!!

LadyOfTheFlowers · 17/01/2011 09:45

Meant to add - I did L2. My t-shirt actually got a sweaty V down the front! :o

Couldn't do 180s or jacks due to knee so did jogging instead, managed at least 5 of each plank move. Blush It's a start.

kkey21 · 17/01/2011 09:53

Lady of the flowers-i am looking forward to any responses re the weight thing as its quite de-motivating isn't it!

I am on day 10 of shred (i think) but almost 2 weeks of continious exercise! Plus cutting out lots of snacks.

I must remind myself to drink water as thats something i don't do enough of.

The3Bears · 17/01/2011 10:02

Can I jump in please, I am on day 3 level 1 it's getting abit easier Im coping with it anyway, didnt think I was that unfit myself do lots of walking but I found it quite hard on day 1. Dont want to lose weight just want to tone up so hoping this works :) Im going to stick with it and hopefully this will work so hello :)

herbaceous · 17/01/2011 10:21

ladyoftheflowers The body is a curious beast. After two weeks of dieting, including one week of shredding, I had lost a grand total of a pound. Yesterday, I had a blow out - mushroom lasagne, using an entire packet of parmesan, wine, ice cream etc etc. I'm now three pounds less than I was on Saturday. WTF??

Ingles2 · 17/01/2011 10:59

of course it could and probably is muscle.
Last summer I weighed 11stone, wanted to lose some weight so started on big fitness thing..I've run at least 15k a week since then and now I'm shredding. I weight at least 11.5 stone now, but there's a lot less wobble Grin

TrinityMotherOfRhinos · 17/01/2011 11:04

ok I unwrapped my dvd and popped it in the first tim this morning at 10

I managed the warm up and first curcuit before feeling like I was going to throw up

I'm not defeated though and it is going back on tomorrow and the next day and the next day

LadyOfTheFlowers · 17/01/2011 11:55

Thanks ladies. :)

Since I started I have been being REALLY good with food and find thinking about the shred and my work being 'cancelled out' by eating junk helps a lot.
It nearly kills me which is keeping me on track food wise.

I have thismorning discovered I am 6st overweight not 8 which is a bit of a relief. Hmm
Still...6!! Where the f* did that come from?! Shock

Well done Trinity :) Once you get going your endurance will pick up quite quickly - I was suprised. :)

notyummy · 17/01/2011 11:58

trinity - get back on it....only 12 minutes left to do Wink

Lady - Thats a big difference! Must make you feel quite heartened that there is less work to do.

No exercise for me today. Am ill and on the sofa feeling sorry for myself. Some sort of chesty thing with loads of gunk, plus a migraine. Great.

BalloonSlayer · 17/01/2011 12:06

Well done everyone!

It seems like there are quite a few of us feeling Confused about the lack of loss of actual pounds. Like herbaceous I have stuffed my face this weekend and nothing much has gone on.

I just did Day 11 of Level 1, after a two-day break. I did the best I have ever done! I managed to do all the first circuit cardio without stopping, which I have never done before. [chuffed emoticon]

I have decided I will do Level 1 again tomorrow, have Wed off, and start Level 2 on Thursday.

Ingles2 · 17/01/2011 12:19

Level 1 Day 3 completed. It's getting easier and hurting less. Good luck everyone

hormonalmum · 17/01/2011 12:59

I am on day 2 of L2 today. It took some effort to get motivated today as when I woke (5am- thanks dd2!) I ached all over.
So on the return from the school run, I did it straight away. I feel better doing it as early in the day as poss.
Im back to work after mat leave in a couple of weeks so I am not sure I will be able to find the time on the days I am working.
I could get up even earlier but dd2 has me up between 5 and 6 anyway...

LostGirl · 17/01/2011 13:22

Ladyoftheflowers, no the weight gain will not be two pounds of muscle, it is really really hard for women especially to build muscle and it doesn't come easy! I spent the first 6 months of last year following a weight training programme where the aim was to lift heavy, eat large amounts of protein and if I was one of the lucky ones I would gain about 10 pounds of muscle, in the whole 6 months. Our weight fluctuates hugely on a day to day basis for lots of different reasons but especially water retention. This is especially more likely to happen when you first begin an exercise programme as your muscles will use and retain water to help them recover and this of course adds to your weight. It is temporary and drinking water regularly throughout the day will help. Try not to worry about what the scales are saying and use the fit of your clothes or a tape measure as judge of how your shape is changing, which it certainly sounds like it is Smile

Joby1970 · 17/01/2011 13:27

Not wanting to preach to the converted here - but really do we care about how much we weigh? What really matters is how we look in clothes or naked (if we are up to it)!!

According to scales & BMI charts I am at least 1 stone to 2.5 stone overweight - yet I don't look like it.

Keep shredding ladies & you'll look fab.
