South - Don't mean to sound tight but I'm glad you are feeling it too.
I thought I had done it wrong on day one when I started aching before the day was up as I wasn't expecting it till the next day. Shock

southeastastra · 10/01/2011 19:15

i am looking forward to a nice hot bath i ache so much! still must be doing something

i thought i would collapse when i finished it Grin

TeethandVelvet · 10/01/2011 19:39

Hello,
I was inspired and ordered this last week...just waiting for it to be delivered. (I think Amazon must have had a rush on them. Grin) I have a severe muffin top to reduce. (And I haven't dared look at my arse). I have a 2 year old and an 11 week old though so EVERY day may be optimistic seeing as I can barely go to the toilet in peace but will aim for 4-6 times a week.

vnmum · 10/01/2011 19:39

Southeast Jillian would be proud, she loves a puker! Grin (obviously vnmum has watched too many series' of the biggest loser)

No shred for me yesterday or today and i feel really guilty. i was packing and stuff yesterday so ran out of time and today was again sorting things for move and it was DD's first day at nursery so went to a friends for a brew so i could be near if she didn't settle. I did squeeze in a run before tea though so not been a complete lazy arse.

I am defo getting back to it tomorrow as i will have 2 hours with kids while DD is at nursery so that is my shred time.

I know what people mean about the cult thing, lol.

I find i am inspired by jillian though rather than bullied. She has got to where she is now after being bullied at school for being overweight and then turned to martial arts then became a PT. So i feel like shes been there done that and can empathise with how being overweight makes you feel. i guess thats why she is so good on biggest loser

becklet · 10/01/2011 20:33

MBC, no not really dieting, just trying to watch what I eat (although that kinda fell by the wayside on Friday night when I managed a curry AND a kebab in the space of 4 hours! Blush

But I am combining the shredding with jogging, so I try and do a 30 minute jog 3-4 times a week as well. Not really sure what's come over me, cause I haven't had a fag for 2 months either - surprised my body hasn't gone into shock by now! Grin

Everyone on here is doing brilliantly though - keep on shredding!

kkey21 · 10/01/2011 20:43

Day 5 of exercise for me ( I zumba'd it tonight though to break it up abit!)

Day 6 of level one tommorow-feeling very positive I'm actually going to stick with it this time!

Really want to see results after these 30 days!

falsemessageoflethargy · 10/01/2011 21:14

Another level 2 tonight - pushed it much harder, feel like death. Death but energised. Am having a celebratory wispa.

MyBrilliantCareer · 10/01/2011 21:19

Watching The Biggest Loser for inspiration [determined]

BlueCollie · 10/01/2011 21:33

Day 2 of level 1..(missed yesterday as babysat for a friend on Saturday night and they came home and made me drink wine until 2:30am!!!!) I was knackered before I started but knowing it is only 20 mins spurred me to put it on and do it even though it was 9pm. After reading some comments about people losing weight after a week I'm off to take measurements and pics of myself in my pants! It would be lovely to see a noticable difference in a months time as that will keep me going for when my hubby gets home in April Grin

Thingumy · 10/01/2011 22:04

I got my dvd today but haven't started it as I'm doing nurse duties due to my dd have the flu.

Hopefully will be starting as soon as she's well enough to go back to school,as I want to do it in the day without a laughing audience.

Well done to all of you,you are ALL doing so well!

MissMarjoribanks · 10/01/2011 22:35

Day 3, Level 1 for me. Though days 1 and 2 were 5 days apart...

Feel OK, really, though I was ravenous afterwards. I can't do more than a couple of the plank pushups, but I can do all of it on my knees. I think I need to do as many full ones as I can then move to the knees when it gets unbearable.

I am getting better at the bicycle crunches as well - Jillian is right when she says to look at the ceiling during crunches - I then really feel it in my abs.

I've just weighed myself, albeit at the end of the day and wearing my clothes and I am 10st 0oz. I'm aiming for 9st 7oz.

Bring on tomorrow!

MyBrilliantCareer · 10/01/2011 22:35

Just checked out the before and after photos of the US Biggest Loser.

Check this out

I'm now going to watch what I eat a lot more and not be quite such a wimp.

DontCallMeBaby · 10/01/2011 23:19

Wow, MBC, the really good ones (two men and two women) are amazing! Imagine if your bloke went off for a few weeks with those moobs and came back looking like that! Yes, as ever major weight loss is a bit aging, but well worth it to be THAT much fitter. Hard to imagine the UK lot getting results like that, but we will see (Monday's gonna be crap TV night from now on, Glee followed by recorded Biggest Loser).

I'm back on the wagon after two days off - Zumba on Saturday, and genuinely nothing yesterday. I think I have mild food poisoning from decided two-weeks-out-of-date Caesar dressing smelled fiiiine ... just cramps, nothing. Still shredded though, and polished my halo. :o So that's Day 7 of Level 1, now with 1kg weights instead of 500ml bottles of water. I didn't feel it as much as I thought I would, the extra weight, bet it would have killed on the first day. I suspect I will feel it more tomorrow.

My knees feel like shit though. :( I'm doing everything right, I think, but I'm 38 and overweight, and my knees have been a bit crunchy since my teens. I hope I'm not going to do myself a mischief, or just end up not being able to do all this stuff.

SlantyBaws · 11/01/2011 01:53

I got into the plank position ready to do press ups last night, and managed to move, oh about 1cm.

Far far far too difficult.

Impossible.

Will I ever be able to progress onto Level 2?

BalloonSlayer · 11/01/2011 08:10

I can't do it either, SlantyBaws. I mean I can move a bit but I can't go right down. But I can't go right down with my knees bent either, just slightly lower.

Not sure what I will do about Level 2 either. I guess I'd better watch it first. I am on Day 7 of Level 1 now!

Perhaps I had better work harder at the press-ups and go up to Level 2 on Day 15, making it a 35 day shred for me.

I am not using particularly heavy weights (tins actually), because a) I am very weedy and b) I have quite slim arms so toning them wasn't something I was too bothered about. So I am now considering, only considering mind, some actual weights. Gulp.

kittyfisherfoundit · 11/01/2011 08:18

Level 2 day 1. Oh. My. God.

....but, looking on the positive side, at least I have lots of room for improvement!! There is alot of plank eh. I felt like my 6 yr old section scar was going to explode.

Motivation from this thread is keeping me going. Plus the talk of lbs and inches falling by the wayside.

Woop woop

kittyfisherfoundit · 11/01/2011 08:20

Slanty... I really struggled with pressups too but it dies get easier, practice makes the difference. Ughh. I sound all enthusiastic! Good luck

notyummy · 11/01/2011 08:32

The press-ups def get easy with practice. It can be done!! It sounds mad, but perhaps trying a few at different times oif the day (TV ads etc) to try and build up strength.

I think even if arms are slim that you will benefit from weights. Will build more lean muscle which overall burns more calories....plus as people get older even slim arms can become 'bingo wingy'.

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 11/01/2011 08:59

Remember with press-ups it's not about going right down you just need to get that 90 degree angle in your arm.

Balloonslayer stop making excuses and pick up some weights!!! Weights are fantastic for women as they decrease the risk of osteoporosis amongst tons of other health benefits.

slanty the plank position and press up position are slightly different - your hands should be spread further apart for press ups.

thingumy hope your DD feels better soon.

MBC I LOVE the biggest loser!

beklet I am doing running as well, doing C25K and shred. Great news on the fags, I gave up 4 years ago and I don't miss or think about them at all now (well maybe after a couple of glasses of wine!) and I HATE the smell.

lady how was the pushchair today?

Can't remember who mentioned core but the plank is a fabulous exercise for the core. Also google superman exercise which is a good back exercise and easy to do.

Did a run last night and expected to be quite stiff this morning but was ok, think it was because I have been shredding! Managed to shread this morning as well, finding it much better now I am using different weights for different exercises. Now just have to keep away from the biscuits at toddler group this morning!

Hope everyone has a good day.

falsemessageoflethargy · 11/01/2011 09:23

Libra - I love the way you are looking after everyone Grin

Am actually looking forward to my shred later and contemplating ordering more dvds - am not sure how this has come about.

Oh and definately buy the weights people still using cans - its a whole different thing granted but lovely when you can see your arms improving in strength. Especially for level 2 which is all about core and shoulders/arms - I think without the weights it will feel a bit easy iyswim.

herbaceous · 11/01/2011 09:31

Well, day after day one of level one, Anita-style, I don't really ache! So think I need to ramp it up. Been looking everywhere for my hand weights, which would up the 'ache', I'm sure!

Was disappointed to be the same weight this morning. Though there's a chance I'm being a trifle optimistic!

notyummy · 11/01/2011 09:33

Herb- it's effective, but I think you would actually need to chop if a limb to lose weight as quickly as you hoped!!

fishie · 11/01/2011 09:34

yes i've found am better at running since being killed by Jillian. I took her up because pilates class has moved and I can't go any more. There are quite a few similar moves.

Libra what are your views on rest days or lack of? I am aiming for 5 x runs + 2 Jillians. although there have been more Jillians than runs in dark and ice. note that is aiming for, I don't always manage it! I feel fine, if slightly tired of leg.

tomhardyismydh · 11/01/2011 09:46

well im back have had two days off and have just done the second day of level 2. its a killer, but im liking the energy.

OP posts:
SlantyBaws · 11/01/2011 09:56

Thanks for push up advice everyone - looks like I'll just need to keep at it!

Level 1 Day 8 completed tonight. I had nowhere near the energy of yesterday so really struggled, bu got through most of it to the end.

Herb - keep at it! I wore heels in the office yesterday for the first time in donkeys and my thighs felt so STRONG. Twas a great feeling. And that's after a week.

Fishie - I asked about days off and was shot down in flames advised not to (and I'm glad I didn't), but it sounds like your regime is a bit for energetic than mine.

DOWN WITH BINGO WINGS!

Have a good day everyone.
