I'm BACK! yes, yes I know that none of you newbies remember me, but I did about 12 days in the autumn, and reached the dizzy heights of level 2, and even watched level 3 and considered it. DH made extremely encouraging comments, and all was well until I contracted about four colds on the trot and ate like a pig over Christmas, so I'm now all wobbly again.
But I am no longer living from lemsip to lemsip, or coughing up green gunk, and I have a party to go to next Friday, at which I plan to wear a fairly revealing frock, and I went shopping today and tried on both jeans and pencil skirts (oh dear - as Jillian so wisely says, jeans shopping is amongst the highest forms of motivation).
If I start tomorrow then I can do 6 stints of level 1 before the party, which will make me feel confident enough to wear scary sexy dress, and also be acclimatised enough not to accessorise it with a John Wayne hobble.
I'll see whether I'm feeling strong enough to measure myself tomorrow morning, but even if I don't, I have a pencil skirt suit in my wardrobe which I bought optimistically in the Jigsaw sale in a size too small (in my defence it was very cheap). If I can wear it confidently after 30 days (or less) then I will report back accordingly.

LadyOfTheFlowers · 07/01/2011 18:01

Dilys - Do tell what difference you noticed in 12 days, as a bit of a motivator please. :)

With regards your appearance and when the pain went for you.

DilysPrice · 07/01/2011 18:14

It stopped hurting after about 3 days, jeans became noticeably looser and DH was...um...very impressed IYKWIM. Upper arms much firmer too as well.
But TBH I didn't have all that many inches to lose in the first place, the motivation was more about being able to do it, and actually achieving press ups and hard core cardio for the first time ever - I've never been aerobically fit.
I think it helped my pelvic floor too - did other shredders find that?

DaydreamDolly · 07/01/2011 19:59

The reverse crunches help pelvic floor muscles.

MadameCastafiore · 07/01/2011 20:41

Just done level 2 - thought I was going to die - forget how hard bloody squat thrusts are!

Didn;t feel level 1 was doing that much!

Am going to swim first thing tomorrow and then shred in the evening and sunday evening and then run on Monday - I will look bloody great in a bikini even if it kills me and I think it may!

DH back with celebratory indian now so am off for munchies.

Well done everyone.

MyBrilliantCareer · 07/01/2011 21:26

I can do all of it bar the squat thrusts and those horrible squat with raise palm arm raises things at the end. I'm almost crying through those.

And those walking pressups are hard!

So actually can't do quite a lot of it Hmm

But onwards and upwards.

Oh bloody hell I just pressed something and the dvd has just started. It's haunting me!!

tomhardyismydh · 07/01/2011 21:29

"Oh bloody hell I just pressed something and the dvd has just started. It's haunting me!!"

MyBrilliantCareer · 07/01/2011 21:44

Hahaha I like you tomhardy! I've only had a bottle glass myself.

I can't bear to think of my arms. Was pinching them all the way home to see if those bloody bat wings had started to fly off yet.

It's Friday night though, so it's all fine, surely?!

tomhardyismydh · 07/01/2011 21:47

yeah!! its all good. I even split a low fat laughing cow triangular cheese over two slices of toast tonight.

normaly I would have had one on each, so its getting the right results all the way.

im drinking my house dry tonight so I cant blame the wine over tyhe next 21 days.

im enjoying it though, has given me much motivation.

Hi all, please can i join?Smile

I have been reading all your posts, very encouraging as you are all doing greatGrin

I started on the 2nd Jan, and have shredded each dayShock I did attempt a few days before Christmas as well, but gave up due to the festivities. My concern now is that i dont seem to be hurting as much as i did last time - especially my legs. Granted i am still at level 1, going to level 2 on Sunday, and i am sure i am doing the moves right - with weightsConfused

Someone please tell me the lack of pain doesnt mean i wont see any benefits?

MyBrilliantCareer · 07/01/2011 21:56

You'd better do Level 2 tomorrow. I'm going to swear at you all the way through watching the squat thrusts Grin

tomhardyismydh · 07/01/2011 21:57

join us jetcat Im going to level 2 tomorrow!!

seriously tho have you had no pain at all?

OP posts:
MadameCastafiore · 07/01/2011 21:59

scruffle, scruffle scruffle - sorry that is me trying to scruffle through the end of the after eight box and find some actual chocolate - why don't kids take the feckin wrappers! Had to round off the indian like I had actually gone out and had one!

MBC - I swear like a navvy at the arm raise squat things - those and the squat thrusts I feel like my shoulders are going to pop out!

WHat the feck has Johnathan Ross done to his chin?

MyBrilliantCareer · 07/01/2011 21:59

Oh jetcat! Why weren't you here earlier! Of course you can join.

My legs don't hurt either anymore. Or my arms. That same thing worries me, which is the reason for my constant pinching of batwing arms.

What weights are you using?

tomhardyismydh · 07/01/2011 22:01

ill do it, dd will make darn sure of it, shes been off school sick last 2 days and is a jillian lover.

ill struggle to get her to school on monday, she recons this is better than school. shes gona wish she was home ed!! no chance.

slight set back is im baking 24 cupcakes tomorrow for her friends bday party. how much butter icing can i resist?

OP posts:
MyBrilliantCareer · 07/01/2011 22:01

Madame, am I correct in thinking that they are palms up? I started doing them palms down, hard enough, but they hurt!

Pardon my ignorance, what is a navvy?!!

tomhardyismydh · 07/01/2011 22:05

looks like JR has a merkin on his chin!!!

a navvy is a sailor

punish the kids madame

Tom - the last time i shredded, i could barely walkBlush This time, i dont really have any pain in my legs at all - although i have really upped my walking, so maybe that has helped?Hmm I can feel it in my arms though, which is fab, as i have awful upper armsBlush My weights are 2kg, i dont think i could manage any more, as by the end of the side lunges, my arms feel like they are about to drop off!

MBC - i am a bit of a social phobic, so have only just plucked up the courage to actually postBlush I have been reading each day though, you are all doing so well!

tomhardyismydh · 07/01/2011 22:07

we are pleased to have you join jetcat

jetcat · 07/01/2011 22:09

tomhardyismydh · 07/01/2011 22:11

OP posts:
MyBrilliantCareer · 07/01/2011 22:14

Jetcat!! No need for social phobias here! I did 7 days before the drinking silly season and then came back to it and same - no sore legs. Although before, I couldn't turn over in bed. Wierd.
