Me too please - have at least 3 stone to lose. 4 really. Currently 15 stone 7 (god that's depressing) and a size 18/20.

Would really like to be about 12 stone and a size 14 (12 really, bu let's try to be realistic!)

Very pleased to have until next week to start. Will have to decide what to try - maybe zoe harcombe or pig to twig...

Snacking is my downfall too as some of the posters have mentioned. I need to find quick and easy snacks.

I also think I should namechange as my current name is not very motivating. Maybe mmmmmcarrotsticks or mmmmmtastelessricecakes. Something to think about Smile

Can I join you all also, for 1st Jan? Will weight myself then, have a horrible feeling I have never been this heavy before!

I am thinking of joining slimming world.

My down fall is when I am upset I tend to eat to ease anxiety.

I do that too mummyhunnie. DD2 had silent Hmm reflux and screamed constantly for 5 months. Even now when she cries I get the urge to eat to calm me down. I don't know what the answer is but I'd really like to know!

activate I've spent ages analysing why I'm struggling so much. I think it's down to retaining control, loads of reasons for it. But I've got to the point of thinking "ffs, just DO it!"

Hi there,

can I join, DH and I are trying for a baby and not having much luck, know that the doctor will say that I have to lose weight, so might as well start now. Currently weigh about 12st 7lbs, at 5ft 2, thats about three stone more than I should be Sad

Dh is putting together an eliptical strider for me as I type this and have had dire warnings if I dont use it, need to watch my calories and do more excercise and then I should lose some weight hopefully.

I'm going to need to join in, ate way too much in pregnancy and now it won't budge despite BF'ing! Need to figure out my calorie intake and start exercising again!

I'd like to fit into my pre-preg clothing, soprobably need to lose at least 2 stone, although 3.5 would be ideal.

How about tea and rich tea fingers or Jaffa cakes think they're about the best you can get when cutting down. Know what you mean though it's nice to have a little treat once kids settled. Can also recommend skinny cow ice creams and a lot if the weight watcher deserts.
Would love to say what my problem or weakness is but if I'm truly honest I am just greedy! Love take aways, chocolate, sweets, crisps, kids leftovers u name it I'll eat it!!! Hoping to change though going to try my hardest am sick of being the 'fat' one!

Would I be stupid to buy a size 14 dress out of monsoon sale as a motivational tool? Not sure if this idea is genius or stupid lol

Stop it, you temptress! There are still plenty of Christmas pudding, chocolates and biscuits calling my name. I have hidden behind the theory of 'breastfeeding women need cake, or they die' for too long.

clpsmum it'd never work for me anyway. when i'd feel like i'm depriving myself i'd look at the dress and get even more depressed looking at it thinking it's hopeless and then i'd just go and eat some biscuits Sad. i'd just really love to love being healthy and excersising but the bottom line is i'm just lazy and love food too much! really just want to change my way of thinking. dp is on board too so should make it easier

Personally, I've got plenty of size 14 clothes I used to love wearing hanging in the wardrobe staring at me reproachfully....

Wouldn't life be perfect if it were five potions of chocolate and crisps we needed to be healthy instead of boring old fruit and veg!!!

I would like to join too. I am a brdesmaid in June and would like to lose at least 2.5 stone by then-more would be nice! My problem is that I'm greedy, even typing this I'm thinking about having an icecream. Gong to stop buying in junk, that's all I've had this last week! And going to give up wine for a while, that means I must be really serious!

yes i reckon a new thread with starting weights and a weekly weigh in. i think it's sill to try and cut out all sweet things as you then just demonise one food group and you're off to a bad start already as that's the thing you'll crave
