Here is the new thread for us to achieve success in Xmas Smile

Old thread is here

I'll change my name to my "Christmas" one after Saturday: I'm helping to organise the Scottish Mumsnet Christmas meet-up and it might confuse things if I change my name.

Oh no Bebe Sad Is your head OK? Is it worth getting checked out at docs?

Piste, nobody will recognise you with that cunning disguise Grin I am doing my aerobics dvd atm, but may go for a run tomorrow.

I'm going out to see that new film The King's Speech tonight, anyone seen it?

I hope to have lost something this week, hoping for 1lb, or even 0.5lb, don't deserve any more than that, a little matter of left over xmas pudding....

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/01/2011 12:07

GT - I will be interested to see what you think. We are going to see the king's speech on Saturday and DD is very keen too and I expect DS will come rather than be left at home.

Just watching the biggest loser and have now set it to record, so I can keep up with it. It makes me feel better about myself < unkind emoticon > It is rather extreme though, like that girl said, the cycling resulted in carnage. It also seems harsh to boot out the people who lose the least, because as we know it is so variable.

Puke outside please! Lol Anyway it's a show.

bebejones · 12/01/2011 12:25

Think I might have had a mild concussion. Felt very dizzy & sick & a bit spaced out. Came on about 1.5hours after, DH sat up with me for a bit until I stopped feeling quite so bad. Knee is beautiful now! :o Hmm Plus has jolted my hip (coz of course it was the bad side) and now that is hurting too! Typical!

Very Envy of you seeing The Kings Speech. I really want to see it but DH loathes going to the cinema so I will have to wait til it comes out on dvd! :(

Porridge was scrummy! Ended up just having a 1/4 of apple on it coz 1/2 seemed like alot! Still feel full now 4 hours on! (But did share a carrot muffin with DD at toddlers Blush)

Have got the last WW supplement today. Going to Tesco everyday has cost me a fortune, I seem incapapble of going in & just buying a paper!! Hmm

Blondes - shall try & scan parts 3 & 4 when I have a bit of time if you would like them?! :)

GettinTrimmer · 12/01/2011 12:56

Piste, I was thinking the same about the weight loss - I watched some of the American Biggest Loser, and if someone loses only 1lb they feel depressed about it, not thinking about the muscle they are putting on.

I was wondering if you may be concussed Bebe, do take care. I said a big OUCH when I read what happened.

The King's Speech has good reviews - I read an interview with CF and he said he had tension headaches and pains down his left arm during filming as he had to be very tense. I am an ex-stammerer myself (very slight these days, hardly noticeable if at all) so I'm so interested to see this, although it will make me cringe and a bit Sad.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/01/2011 13:01

Bebe - don't wait for your DH, you often say he isn't keen, go to the flicks with a mate, he can babysit!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/01/2011 13:10

Bebe - Well, maybe I do your DH a disservice - he didn't want to go to Lapland Uk with or without the snow!

Go with a mate anyway x

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/01/2011 13:10

Gt - i know! That girl lost 5lbs and was disappointed Hmm

laughalot · 12/01/2011 13:15

Ouch bebe hope you are ok, your brekkie sounded well yummy.

Iv not been watching biggest loser but may do if it makes me look slim Grin.

Iv had special k for brekkie and scrambled egg on one slice of toast for lunch. Zumba tomorrow eeekk.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2011 15:54

Ouch Bebe :( and yes I'm 1st trained and that sounds to me a mild concusion :(

Yes please to 3 and 4 thank you

Got a night off tonight as have done 3 in a row and mum tryig my routine

Last night babs went to be at 7pm and was asleep when I left at 7am. Woke briefly for dream feed and then muttered in early hours and settled his self :)

Jacket pot tuna and may light = 11pm and I'm
Hungary :(

smokinaces · 12/01/2011 16:38

Ouch Bebe, sure you dont need to get checked out?

Go to the cinema alone! I do it at least once a month - I always book a seat in the corner on the rows of 2 or 3 in a film that isnt going to be too busy so I dont have any couples near me. Once you're there with the lights down no one knows you're on your own!

I am so tired its unreal. I have actually already eaten my dinner (jacket with quorn/weight watchers chilli and veg) as I am seriously thinking of bed around 8pm. Think it must be PMT as due on - that and being up with (not so well) DS2 and deciding to then exercise at 6am. Hoping it shifts soon though, as I am ready to embrace the chocolate now.

Had 3 quality street chocs today - according to the box that was 5.8g fat and 123 calories or something, and it was a long week at work. But I did take DS2 to soft play and ran around on all the equipment with him so must have burnt some of that off!

Wish I could do Zumba or something, but no sitter of an evening for the kids Sad

laughalot · 12/01/2011 20:16

Oh smockinaces I would have the kids if I could Sad, saying that you could live next door how do I know Grin.

smokinaces · 12/01/2011 20:30

I miss the gym mainly laughalot, downside of single parenthood I guess! But I have an exercise bike and stepper here, so better than nothing!

and just checked, we're a good few hours apart Grin thanks for the offer though!!

Smalline · 12/01/2011 21:49

Oh Bebe hope your fall hasn't caused too much damageSad.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/01/2011 22:49

apparently jacket potatos are 1pp per 50g

so an average 225 g is 4pp not 8pp -an 8pp one would be 400g and thats a whopper tat!!

means i can eat jackets again

GettinTrimmer · 13/01/2011 09:16

Morning slinks Smile

smokin - my local leisure centre has stay and play in the holidays and play on saturday mornings, maybe your local one does the same. How old are dc?

How is your ankle now you're exercising again Blondes?

I don't think I was dedicated enough with propoints, but have good feeling about your weigh in tomorrow Smile

bebe how is your head/knee today?

piste film was amazing, Colin Firth deserves an oscar.

The way he portrayed the torment and suffering was incredible, I had a knot in my stomach and sometimes couldn't bear to look. I won't say much more as I don't want to give anything away.

A bit of swearing (just mention as you're taking your ds), although very much in context.

GettinTrimmer · 13/01/2011 09:20

Helena Bonham Carter as Queen Mum, Michael Gambon as George V and Timothy Spall as Winston Churchill all superbly acted. The only actor who I think looked like the person they were playing was Michael Gambon as George V, but the mannerisms and voices were spot on and was very convincing.

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2011 10:22

Morning

'wipes dribble'

Finally had 2nd half of root canal done

Can't stop dribbling and swollen mouth :( but sure it will do wonders fir my diet today

First ww PP wi Tom - wonder if I will lose .......

bebejones · 13/01/2011 10:26

Blondes - Ouchy! :( Hope it improves now it has been done! Glad you have worked out the potato thing! :o Will try & scan the other 2 booklets today!

Trimmer - Film sounds fab, can't wait to see it! Have no friends nearby who want to see it :( Sometimes I wish I lived nearer my mum, she'd love to go to cinema with me!

Am feeling much more myself today, apart from the blue/purple/black/brown knee!

On a soup making mission :o Got celery on the go. Gonna do some pea & mint later. Also have a BNS & some carrots but they will have to wait until I can sort my freezer out! Tonne of housework to do coz it's DHs birthday Sat & we will have visitors! Hmm

smokinaces · 13/01/2011 12:17

GettinTrimmer - they do have a creche, but one its the cost, and two the guilt of putting DS2 (DS1 is at school) in there when he already goes to childcare 3 days a week when I work.

Blondes - ouch to root canal! I have my night guard fitting next week and then they will look at all the problems I have with my molars. Am not looking forward to it - but the extra weight loss sounds like a positive side! Glad you worked out the jacket issue - I am slightly addicted to them at the moment. Just had one for lunch with tuna and asda extra light mayo (1 tbsp is 0.7g fat and 12 calories)

Just done my shopping and for the second week in a row it only came to £40 odd instead of £55-£60, and that was with dishwasher tablets etc. Its definately cheaper not buying the junk!

smokinaces · 13/01/2011 12:21

Bebe, glad you are feeling better with the knee. Hope it gets better real quick!

bebejones · 13/01/2011 13:49

Have made 2 batches of soup which worked out at 7 portions! Also made 16 small wholemeal & oat bread rolls which I shall freeze. Feel very virtuous!

Have been so busy I have hardly eaten Blush, at least all this 'activity' has stopped me picking!

B - Orange juice, lf yoghurt & 1/2 apple
L - Slice of marmite & peanut butter toast & a nairns ginger biscuit

D - (will be) hm Pea & mint soup & a bread roll & then some fruit & a yoghurt for pud! (Might have a teeney piece of chocolate nut cake too, but I mean miniscule coz it is VERY bad!)

Smokin - Makes a huge defference to the weekly shop here too. I always think that if it comes in under £70 I have done well, but lately it has been more like £50 which is fab! :o (That includes nappies & cat food!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/01/2011 13:57

bebe glad knee is getting better and yes scanning the books would be fab, thanks

im dribbling and crying :( saw a friend of mine earlier and she had breast cancer last year and now has come back and also in her liver and brain -she will die within the year :(

leaving kids 13/16/18 and there is nothing she can do apart from a miracle

trimmer ankle seemed to be ok tho i havnt been since sat as been night nannying

GettinTrimmer · 13/01/2011 15:56

Blondes Sad I am so sorry Sad

smokinaces · 13/01/2011 17:54

blondes Sad that sucks

LollipopViolet · 13/01/2011 20:02

Blondes, I'm so sorry about your friend :(

I've not been on for a while, deadline week at uni, so very very busy. First assessment (presentation) tomorrow.

I've been good with my food this week, choosing healthier stuff mostly, so weight should hopefully have dropped tomorrow!

Anyway, must crack on with this powerpoint.
