Day 22 finished (level 3 day 2)

My stomach muscles are really sore.. great because thats my fatty area. Feel quite trim today too. Level 3 seems to be my workout!

helen Don't be upset. Stupid neighbours.. why couldn't they just pop upstairs and ask if everything was ok instead of ringing your DH! Next time you see them just tell them "I am improving your fitness and hope they don't mind, only 20 minutes a day and what time of the day would that be unsuitable for them?"

I am in a flat too so I understand x

NicknameInUse · 13/12/2010 19:33

Had a majorly hectic weekend, so haven't had the chance to come here until now, great work everyone! Helen Hope you're feeling better now? Try not to let it get to you, I'm in a first floor flat and really thunder around (poor neighbours), anyone would jumping around like a loon! Don't beat yourself up - you're just unlucky to have a numpty of a neighbour. Smile

Have been managing to fit in Level 2 decpite being stupidly busy. I'm even back to being able to do star jumps etc! Knees still not good enough to do some of the stuff but I feel better that I don't have to adapt as many parts.
Bloody hell, Level 2 is tough - for my shoulders, especially! Keep thinking that it'll be a bloody miracle if I ever get through the whole thing with no breaks for swearing a sip of water.

redderthanred · 13/12/2010 20:36

Day 22 done. I didn't die until the 3rd circuit which is better than yesterday. I've found it takes me about 4days to get over the ' fuck, this is hard' and start really enjoying it.

HonestyBox · 13/12/2010 20:50

Oh gawd, I fell off the wagon. I got to day three, day four was a Saturday and my legs were not having it anymore. I do a lot of cycling and found that I couldn't pedal anymore. Took a day off and it turned into a week. So, did day 4 today but probably have to count it as day 1 Sad.

prettybirdinapeartree · 13/12/2010 21:01

Get back on to the wagon Hmm

HonestyBox · 13/12/2010 21:22

Thanks prettybird - that's just what I need to hear. Think I'm going to double shred today and tomorrow to make up for my failure to apply myself.

nomorecake · 13/12/2010 23:08

ahh you lot are crazy!! i cant believe you talked me into level3.

But..level 3 done. (workout 20 in 22days! get me!!!)

it went sooooo fast (faster than the torturous level2)

on Anita's beginner level mostly.

cant do sumo jumps.
can do a few lunge jumps.
flying through the cardio with weights Shock
amazed i can grunt my way through Anita's walking pushups. on day 1 barely do basic ones.

the bloody plank positions are killing me.Angry

so mainly struggling on the strength stuff.

RED - you're doing so much better than me. i had so stop alot of times.

Helen- wish i had a helpful suggestion for you. but I'm very angry, on your behalf!

For everyone just starting and struggling- you will get better at it. my legs were like jelly on day 1. seriously achey legs by day 4. Day 7 felt amazing, so energised (and hungry!).

CybillLiberty · 13/12/2010 23:15

Forgive me shredders for I ahve sinned

I havent done it for AGES

And I cant remember why now

WILL DO IT TOMORROW

Have just packed in gym member ship so I mUST

bumpybecky · 13/12/2010 23:43

forgive me too 'cos I've also lapsed!

I've had 6 days off after getting as far as day 5. I've been really busy and then got bad cold of nasty germy dc. Tomorrow I'm back on the wagon :)

redderthanred · 14/12/2010 08:34

get back to it girls! you know you want too........

Took some measurements today.
So, results after 22 days are as follows.

inch of each arm ( stayed the same this week)
2.5 inches off bust ( stayed the same last two weeks)
3 inches off waist ( 1/2 inch down this week)
3 inches off hips ( 1/2 inch down this week)
1 inch off each thigh. ( 1/2 inch off each this week)

12.5 inches in 3 weeks and a 2lb weight loss this week too.

I dont think anyone can question if it is worth it.
being totally honest, im bloody amazed at the results.

MickyLee · 14/12/2010 09:06

Congratulations redder you have worked hard and deserve the results.

You must feel amazing.

Although I have not measured, I felt my results were slowing down but since starting level 3 I feel tighter. Going to withhold mearsuring until the 30 days now.

Avoiding carbs after 6pm now and switched to wholegrain bread if any. Trying to avoid too much white sugar and processed food but have the odd choc when I feel like it. Apart from that not watching cals or fat so much. And I am drinking 2 litres of water a day.

Yesterday I had
An omlette with cheese for breakfast with a slice of wholemeal bread.
Yogurt
Chicken curry with rice (half the rice I would normally have)
Took DC to burgerking but I just had a coffee
Dried fruit and nuts
2 chocs (roses)
Bowl of special K

Do you think I am eating enough Protein? Trying to up my protein too instead of using carbs to fill me up all the time.

redderthanred · 14/12/2010 09:20

I do feel quite pleased with myself.
My inch loss has slowed down, but its still going down, and icant ask more than that.

Will measure after the 30 days.
Would be fab if i can make it 15 inches.

Im going to work really really hard.

I have no idea about the food, i am probably not the best person to ask.....

bumpybecky · 14/12/2010 09:49

wow redder that's some inch loss :):) well done you :)

well I'm sort of back on the wagon....

I failed to complete the warm up Shock just couldn't manage the jumping jacks. I could do those on day 1, but today was making my chest hurt too much. Guess I've got more of a cold than I thought!

Anyway, I went through all of it, jogged or did very small butt kicks for all of the jumpy cardio, managed the punches ok and some other bits ok. Cheated a bit on the strength and abs sections, but was determined to go through it all even if cheating a lot!

Hopefully doing some exercise will help shift the cold faster :)

MickyLee · 14/12/2010 10:44

I've had a few days where I have cheated a bit too. But I thought as long as I do some of it, it is better than just giving up!

Then the day after I usually am really up for pushing myself again.

HelenLG · 14/12/2010 11:59

Just did day 2...(neighbours car wasn't there so I figure she's out...)

Got to the end of the first circuit and was thinking 'Crap, whoever she'd day 2 was easier was wrong...'

But then I seemed to get through it... the last two circuits seemed easier and the whole thing went fast.

I have to ask, the muscle pain, does it subside over time or will I feel like ths for the next month?

NicknameInUse · 14/12/2010 12:30

Helen for me, the muscle pain subsided afer about 4 days (and they were really painful!)

Menagerie · 14/12/2010 13:13

Help. Mine should arrive tomorrow and I am a very unfit flabby mumsy lazy lump of blubber.

But I love the sound of 3 inches of waist and 3 off hips in 22 days...

TheGruffaloMami · 14/12/2010 13:41

Well done helen LG - by the end of the second day I was thinking 'hurrah I'm 1/15th of the way through!'

Good luck menagerie - I tell myself it's only 3 miniutes, then only two, then only one etc.

Day 4 completed. Hoping to pick up proper weights later to use instead of my water bottles. Can't say it's getting easier as such, but I definitely feel I want to push through more because it's over in no time!

chocoholic · 14/12/2010 16:04

Hello shredders new & old,

I had the weekend off and then was just too busy yesterday (this christmas thing is a pain isn't it!!) but back to it today and the last day of level 2 - woo hoo.Grin

For those just starting out, I promise the pain does go. I do more leg stretches which help too. You will amaze yourself how much more you can do in just a few days. Listen to me being an old pro now after just 20 days! Grin

WildhoodChunder · 14/12/2010 18:00

I just did my first day! Also my first proper exercise since giving birth six weeks back... Finished the session about an hour ago and thought it wasn't so bad - now my legs have gone all wibbly!

Not sure I'll lose much weight as I'm breastfeeding and permanently starving (despite being 2.5 stone over pre-preg weight) but some muscle tone and semblance of a waist would be lovely...

DilysPrice · 14/12/2010 18:44

I'm back after several days off fighting off an incipient cold, and I have three major achievements to report.

A) DH, who sees it more than I do, reported that my bum seemed distinctly less wobbly. He's not exactly a disinterested observer, but I'll take his word for it.
B) DD said "mummy, you look just like one of Jillian's minions". I may suspect that what she meant was that I was wearing a bra top rather than my usual baggy T-shirt, but I'm going to ignore that.
C) actual objective achievement! I did my first full-strength plank jacks! Very excited about this, having spent a week doing the lo impact versions.

redderthanred · 14/12/2010 20:37

Well done dilys. It's excellent when you do the full strength stuff isn't it. It's like total achievement.

I just did the full strength walking planks.I rock. Am totally cuffed with myself. Still missed about 4 reps of the last sumo squats, 4 off the sissor abs and the last few seconds of the rock star jumps. But already that is a huge improvement from 3 days ago. I fed think it takes 4 days to really get into a level, though if was much more enjoyable today.
And I really need some heavier weights. It doesn't feel like I'm lifting anything......

To those that are starting out, the pain does go after about day 4, and by day 7 you will love killian and want to marry her.

nomorecake · 14/12/2010 22:26

day 21 done.

REDDER - how you doing on the plank with weights and leg lift??

i'm still struggling on anita walking planks and sumo squats and..well most of it!

redderthanred · 14/12/2010 22:34

Nomorecake, I don't find that one that bad. I find the sumo squats, sissor abs and the last cardio circuit the worse. Everyone is different. Besides,if it was easy.... it wouldn't work would it. It's supposed to be hard :)
Well done for doing day 21. 9 days to go

prettybirdinapeartree · 15/12/2010 09:41

I actually find the sumo squats quite easy :) - although that's maybe because of years of ballet when I was much much younger Blush.

However, despite all my pilates, I find the scissor abs really difficullt (although I do complete them, but with my legs closer to Anita's height but my shoulders off the floor): I think they need the part of the pelvic floor muscles that were damaged by ds. That's my excuse anyway and I am sticking to it Grin
