redderthanred · 28/11/2010 13:39

Told sister who told me it wasnt that impressive, that anyone could do that and that it would mostly be water.

And that i wont be a dress size, as ive only lost 2lbs.

And that as im so overweight. By stone 5lbs. I shouldnt be doing it as should probably be checked by a doctor.

And that if im not careful i will bulk up and end up bigger and thet she expects she could do the same, but it doesnt fit into her lifestyle.

And that she would easily see the same results and ive only seen those results because im so massive and unfit.

so - cheers sister..... bitch!!!

MickyLee · 28/11/2010 14:07

redder I'm an sorry to say this but sounds if your sister doesn't want you to change. Is she smaller than you? does she feel better about herself because she is the smaller sister maybe? Ignore her and just laugh.
I think you will have dropped a dress size because. You have lost loads of pounds but gained muscle which weighs more.

redderthanred · 28/11/2010 14:15

Shes about half a stone lighter that is all.

Shes not thin by any means. None of our family are, even when ive been thin ( or a size 10) i always called myself a 'fat size 10'

Which is fine, im fine with that. Im not trying to be something im not.

I just want a healthy BMI and to be fit.
That is all.

Im still bloody pleased 8.5 inches in 6 days. Thats more than a inch a day. Yes, it might come off quicker as im a size 14 and other than daily walking/swimming i wasnt exercising. But ive still worked Damn hard this week. Damn hard. The first few days i could even walk without it hurting. Ive push through evey damn jumping jack, grunted through the last anteriour arm lift. Sweated like no ones business. Mostly at 6am, before going to work and then doing all my other stuff. Am also a lone parent, so its only me doing everything.

Ive worked damn hard and im proud of myself.

She said she things fitness Dvds are silly.

Sugarmuppet · 28/11/2010 14:44

Who cares what she thinks?

You know your fabulous!

We know your fabulous!

What more do you need? Grin

prettybird · 28/11/2010 14:53

Nobody is forcing her to do it.

You know it is working for you: that is all that matters :)

redderthanred · 28/11/2010 15:06

thanks.

I know its working because i can see results after such a short space of time.

Does anyone know what/if anything i can do to lose the lbs a bit quicker?
Id it worth doing it twice in one day?

Or getting another of her dvds for 3x a week on top of the shred? or will that confuse everything.

Or do i just need to accept 2lbs a week is ok.

I can and have lost double that a week, reasonably easy by mostly eating smoothies/soup and not mcuh else.

But i expect maybe i couild lose 4lbs a week for a month, but not have the inch loss that ive had after 6 days.

However my bmi is 29. So, it is a fact its not healthy and i need to get it down.

prettybird · 28/11/2010 15:21

Like you, I can and have lost more the 2lb a week (or rather, I used to be able to do so, now that I'm menopausal older, I no longer seem able to do so), but 2lb a week is much more healthy - ans more inportantly, sustainable.

You are more likely to keep the weight off if you do it more slowly than you would like and steadily :)

Heathcliffscathy · 28/11/2010 17:49

ahem. day 3 here. when am i going to be able to walk without looking like an arthritic john wayne?

:o

fitflopqueen · 28/11/2010 18:04

Did day 1 yesterday, bit achy, havent done todays yet but now feeling inspired after reading this thread, havent measured or weighed but jeans too tight so will be my measuring tool.

MickyLee · 28/11/2010 18:22

fitflop please measure.. you will be delighted after a week :)

ThatVikRinA22 · 28/11/2010 19:54

just done day 1. im fairly fit, but even so found it quite hard going! im going to do it even on the days i go to the gym.

but i think i may have just undone the good work by having pate on toast for tea....

mummyshreddingnora · 28/11/2010 19:56

ok Red - you HAVE lost more than 2lb of FAT - but you have also gained some muscle... which is a good thing as it burns more calories Grin your sister is only putting it down as she is worried you will be the 'slimmer sister' soon! If its any help - I used to be a smaller clothes size and slimmer looking than my sister - and over a stone heavier - because I exercised loads!

Sophable... give it a couple more days! I just did day 6 and even walked straight to the kitchen after!

fitflop - measure measure measure!

muppet well done on growing boobs too!

Just did day 6 here - and for the 2nd and 3rd circuits with heavier weights Shock 1.5kg on there now!

Also managed to do some bits following NATALIE!!!!!!!!!!!!! ShockShock Managed to do all the bicycle crunches - and still died as normal on the first circuit! Confused

Am really fired up by this thread, after 8 years of varied swimming, gymming and recently running, I need something new. And quick. And hard. This sounds just the ticket. Just one quick question though, I don't have masses of space in my living room, is most of it on the spot, or are you flailing about from pillar to post?

If the former, I will order today!!!

mummyshreddingnora · 28/11/2010 20:11

not much space needed - sideways space you just need enough to be able to lay down for push / situps BUY IT!!! Grin

Sugarmuppet · 28/11/2010 20:25

Eeek haven't managed to shed today yet. Had a sore head this afternoon which was my excue, I have run out of excueses now though. Other than x-factor.

Can someone give me a virtual kick up the behind please? Would hate to upset Killian but the sofa is soooo comfy.

Sugarmuppet · 28/11/2010 20:26

excuse and excuses even! Blush

mummyshreddingnora · 28/11/2010 20:29

muppet - hope to it!! Don't phone it in!!!!!!!!1

Day 6 done. It is definitely getting easier. I managed 21 (girly!) pressups today compared to 3 when I started. I'm surprised how quickly I am building up strength as I am not at all athletic!

Rohey Days 2 and 3 were definitely worst for me because I was so stiff. Keep going!

Well done everyone on the inches lost. I measured myself today for the first time:

Waist: 34 inches
Thighs: 22 inches
Hips: 42 inches

I doubt I'll lose anything off my waist (my worst area) as I am so hopeless with the abs Sad.

Finally - here is a nice big kick for sugarmuppet (get going now - or extra press-ups tomorrow!!) and a DS1-esque rasberry for Redder's sister.

mummyshreddingnora · 28/11/2010 21:01

woo hoo well done AceBaby!

Muppet- awaiting your update!

Sugarmuppet · 28/11/2010 21:13

OW! You didn't have to kick me that hard!!!

Level 2 done!!!! Gasp.

UnrequitedSkink · 28/11/2010 21:15

Right, just measured and writing here to have a record of it:

Bust: 36ins
Waist: 32ins
Hips: 38ins
Thighs: 23ins
Arms: 11ins

Going to do day2 now.
