Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

OP posts:
Murtette · 11/10/2010 21:09

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I'm now dreading pt! Why oh why did I think that if I got through the first six month, things would be easy after that. Blondes - can I just send DD to you and have her back when she's 18 or so?!

Bebe - when I first read your post about your DD pooing under the table, I hadn't realised that she was in pull ups at that point! It does sound as though you're having a bit of a time of it. Well done for not resorting to chocolate.

I put on a lb this week but have been super good today and have good intentions for the rest of the week as I want to lose at least 2lbs this week.

Murtette · 11/10/2010 21:12

Forgot to update the list. Just think how different I'd look by now if every lb I'd lost had stayed lost rather than creeping back on... For every 3 I lose, 2 seem to re-appear.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/10/2010 21:20

murteete -same as me,gaining s lb :( hopefully we will get it off next week

and happy to have dc - send her my way :)

tbh pt is easy IF the child is ready - if they are not ready then stop, save yourself hassle and stress and upsetting dc and starts again a few months later when they show signs

bebejones · 12/10/2010 09:18

Eeek first hour of pants down, no accidents (no anything) yet! I think I actually want her to have an accident so that she realises!

I'm so nervous about leaving her I doubt I'll eat much today, so maybe pt will be good for my diet! :o

GettinTrimmer · 12/10/2010 10:34

lol Bebe, the pt diet!

I followed Blondes (supernanny's!) advice with ds, went with the pants - I must say he only got it when he started thinking that poos were dirty. He used to do it in his pants and not tell me, only after smelling something whiffy did I realise!

I carried on and on, if I'd known Blondes at the time she'd have advised me to put him back in nappies and try later. He used to enjoy getting in the bath with his toys after some of his accidents then have a sleep!

dd did it herself, I don't remember doing anything, I think when they've got an older one to copy it's easier.

Anyway, on the diet subject, I am pleased with myself, foodfocused yesterday, and after taking off the exercise, I had 1200 calories Smile hoping for some sort of loss this week and I finally feel more focused (for now!).

bebejones · 12/10/2010 12:09

Really cross, my Grandad (in his infinite wisdom Hmm) has arranged my GGs funeral for 10.15 on Friday this week. No way I can go, I am gutted. :( My mum is livid, he rang to ask when she thought would be best & she told him the early part of next week! Bear in mind most of the family lives about 200+ miles from them! No doubt I shall be persona non grata, but what can I do?! :(

PT going ok Confused She has had 1.5 accidents (one v small) and 2 wees on the potty! So far only one pair of wet pants...and she didn't wee whilst we were out! I have a plastic sheet on the rug, coz it's too cold to roll it up! And disposable bed mats on my sofa. Please can you all keep everything crossed that she cottons on soon!

Might have some spaghetti on toast with DD for lunch then good ol' soup for dinner! :o

GettinTrimmer · 12/10/2010 13:24

Sorry to hear that Bebe Sad glad pt going ok

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2010 13:30

sorry you cant go to ggp funeral :(

but :) that pt is going well - you WILL have some accidents, many tbh for the first few days till gets the hang of it

i also put on potty every 20mins when starting then 30mins then hourly to try and catch wees and also to reward the odd wee that i catch to help them understand

wee in potty=choccy :)

bebejones · 12/10/2010 13:58

blondes - that's what I've been doing, also looking for signs that she might want to go. I've also been rewarding her for her initiating sitting on the potty. The 2nd big accident today happened when I was cooking lunch! But she came and told me she was wet & when I asked what happened she said 'I did wee', I'm seeing that as a good thing!

Sorry to all for hijacking with the PT Blush Just you are all much nicer than if I posted on PT boards!

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2010 14:38

def a good thing she knew she was wet and also that she obv didnt like being wet hence why she told you

keep going and keep putting on potty but generally i wouldnt bribe treat till get a wee

as someone said diet and pt advice on one thread :)

shall i make it a hatrick and offer sex advice as well? Grin

prettybird · 12/10/2010 14:43

Things are looking good bebe :)

Maybe I shouldn't tell you how ds was toilet trained at 3, dry and clean at night almost immediately and then 2 years later started having poo accidents during the day including at school) which went on for 3 years becasue he ignored the need to go and then insisted he couldn't smell it

GT: I have donated, but couldn't add the GiftAid as I don't think I'll be paying income tax this year (self employed and still in set-up phase)

bebejones · 12/10/2010 14:52

Was going really well, but now have a ratio of 4:2 in favour of accidents! She has decided that she doesn't like me putting her on the potty all the time & if I ask her if she needs to go she says 'No', trouble is, coz she isn't napping she's now got to the point where she is starting to get tired & stroppy! Hmm Shall persevere!

Pretty - that doesn't sound good! Confused

Blondes - you could be our resident agony aunt! Wink :o

prettybird · 12/10/2010 15:00

He's fine now Grin

... much tearing of hair out, pleading, bribing, sticker charts, explaining, asking, shouting, not shouting, ignoring, smelling, requesting, pasta jars, later.......

In the end it was just time.

GettinTrimmer · 12/10/2010 16:51

Bebe - your dd sounds great with her talking, I agree it's a positive she's told you she did it. Also meant to say thank you for the cottage pie recipe I'll try that this week.

Pretty - I just tried to do that private messaging thing (not sure if it worked or not) not really private but just wanted to say thanks for your donation.

Our parenting challenges get sorted out in the end, but that one sounds extra challenging!

Blondes - Dog advice too? has that woofa eaten anything else strange lately?

bebejones · 12/10/2010 17:02

This is a battle of wills....DD is winning :(

prettybird · 12/10/2010 17:06

GT - the PM did work - I got my little red dot in my Inbox. It's exciting when you see it!

I'd got my first one last week as I was coordinating with another MNer about the Scottish Christmas Mumsnet meet-up.

Ds' "smelly bum" issue was certainly a challenge but he is now fine (I hope!). Still gets some badly skid-marked boxer shorts - but after what we went through, that seems like nothing! :) The school were very good about it too, which helped.

GettinTrimmer · 12/10/2010 17:13

Yes, ikwym, just put a wash on at 60 degrees, we get some nuclear underpants!

Bebe hope it sorts itself out, Blondes will be along with some advice.

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2010 17:50

plonk the potty in front of the tv Grin

middle dc always pooed after tea so i sat him on the potty 5-6ish till he pooed - was quite happy watching back yardigans, till he got the hang of it

dont forget this is really only day 1 out of nappys and in knicks so it will be try and error and you will have wet pants, tbh think our first day with no 2 was 10 pairs of wet clothes and i thought omg and was tearing my hair out

but it takes a while for their brain to understand the signals needed for a wee but you will get there

trimmer, tis true about woofa (i really am a guru Grin)and no he hasnt eaten anything weird this week

where i have been fairy good

b cheerios and skim 3
l ham and salad and sweet chillli sandwich and grapes and 1/2banan 5

plus 2 ww lemon cakes so 7 in all

not sure what is for tea, dh is cooking so it will prob be sausages Grin

bebejones · 12/10/2010 18:47

Well, DD is having a bath, then going to bed...in a nappy (obviously)
4 wees on potty, 6 accidents (no poo Hmm) Don't think that's bad, is it? The last one she was getting undressed for bathtime and said 'uh oh, wee' it was tiny but still think it's good that she recognised that she needed one!

I had carrot & ginger soup for tea, was scrummy! :o As predicted I have hardly eaten as DD has been a bit of a limpet & attached to me most of the day, poor little thing :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2010 20:18

thats good for day 1 :)

bebejones · 12/10/2010 20:46

Loving the idea of Blondes as the thread Guru! :o

Blondeshavemorefun · 12/10/2010 20:49

right i have sorted out pt, whats the sex query? Grin

bebejones · 13/10/2010 08:41

Day 2, & I already want to give up! :(

Blondes - She is screaming & running away at the suggestion of the potty! Confused Maybe I should stop & wait til she is more reasonable?

I don't have a sex query at the moment, I shall think of something! :o

Not sure what the food plans are today possibly more soup! I need to get 'in the zone', and seeing as I'm not planning on doing much activity coz of the PT I want to limit the damage IYSWIM?

Might get some stuf in to do Blondes' roasted BNS & chicken thingy, yum! :o

Blondeshavemorefun · 13/10/2010 09:39

then let her wet herself and see what she does/feels like - dont chnage her striaght away till she tells you ifswim

if she really doesnt want to sit on the potty then you either bribe/use toilet and get a padded loo seat or stop and put back into nappys but i think you need to give it at least a week of hell of trying and see what happens

bns and chicken sounds nice but im bs tonight so made a low fat (ish) tuna pasta veggie bake for kids tea and i will eat about 8pm

GettinTrimmer · 13/10/2010 09:40

Blondes - If at it for an hour, would that be enough sex exercise points to burn off one mince pie?!

I have ds off sick today, he got home from school yesterday and lay on the sofa all evening, he is pale with dark circles under eyes in spite of sleeping for 12 hours.

Will go running when dh gets home.

Bebe - good luck with ongoing pt. When was dd 2? I remember mine did it at 2yrs 4 months.
