Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

Altogether on list the 'recorded' weight loss total is 15st 13lbs (I think) Thats's fantastic!!!! Well done all round flange! :o

DD seems ok, not that she was really unwell in herself! She has a tear inside her bottom Blush and was bleeding into her poo! (Sorry TMI) :( Fingers crossed it heals up ok, poor little thing :( On the plus side of this my GP commented on how good I was looking (haven't seen him in months) & thinks the weight loss should be helping my MS as I'm putting less stress on my body which could make a difference, maybe Hmm

Piste - Your poor DDs friend, that could have been so damaging for her, your DD is being such a good friend.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/10/2010 09:17

Omigod, between us we've lost someone the size of John Prescott!!

bebejones · 09/10/2010 09:54

:o Piste you are so funny!

GettinTrimmer · 09/10/2010 11:06

Here's my link again Pretty and Jodie www.justgiving.com/gettinthere Thank you!!

Back in a second to chat.

GettinTrimmer · 09/10/2010 11:25

Morning slinks

pretty that 1lb could well be muscle gain, especially if you are on day 20 of the shred!

blondes sorry you gained - it'll come off again. Good luck with bc today, I know it's very strenuous, I used to do it.

piste Have a great weekend with dh back from his travels! I know you feel a bit Hmm but after my experience of gaining just too easily over the summer, remember sts is good. Best wishes to dd's friend x

jodie well done, you sound slinky and trim. Hope you are feeling better soon x

murtette hope you get a better night Sad just too many stinking colds around

bebe yes, running will definitely help you maintain (so impressed still at you reaching your goal!) - you'll find on foodfocus an amazing amount of calories will be burnt up, but get a decent pair of trainers (unlike me - mine need replacing!) and start off fast walking for a minute/gentle jogging for a minute. Just wear leggings/t-shirt and of course a really good sports bra (I have a freya which stops all bouncing).

Just to say also dh's niece has MS, she does running/jogging and did a 10K. That's great what your GP said as well. To be on the safe side, maybe it's worth mentioning taking up running to your GP and see what s/he says.

I don't feel too bad today, just washed out and tired, but an actual grotty cold I hope won't materialise. Will go running tomorrow, as haven't been since Monday, but last time I went I think it would have been about 6 miles Smile.

GettinTrimmer · 09/10/2010 11:31

bebe bless your little dd, hope it clears up soon for her.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/10/2010 12:29

afternoon

tbh i dont feel too bad, i did class again today so thur/fri/sat this week and legs slightly achey but ok

im off out to london with the girls, so there will be bad eating (chinese) but im going to drive to counter balance the damage iyswim :)

hope all dc are feeling better

and bebe you have lost over 1/4 of our joint weight and yes sure it is doing your ms some good :)

bebejones · 09/10/2010 14:19

Have made Strawberry & Blackberry jam this morning, it is very yummy, tastes like summer fruit pudding in jam form! :o

Trimmer - The walking/jogging sounds like a good idea. I think I shall start after the weekend & just go out for 15mins & see how I go. :)

HecateQueenOfWitches · 09/10/2010 15:05

A measly half a pound.

If it carries on like this I am going to start stripping naked for my WW weigh in!

some more soups for you.

Veg soup
carrots, onion, celery, turnip or swede.
chop and bung in a saucepay with grushed garlic, 2 cans of chopped tomatoes, 1tbsp tomato puree and 1 tbsp dried mixed herbs.

add 1.5 pints hot veg stock

simmer until it's all soft, add salt and pepper to taste.

butternut squash and red pepper soup
butternut squash, onion, red pepper.
chop and add 2 pints veg stock
simmer for half an hour
puree

both those are zero WW points.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/10/2010 21:00

Wooooohooooooo Hectate! Glad we didn't lose you in transit. Smile

Thanks for more soup recipes. We ( me and DD ) really liked the carrot and Ginger one, so we will try these too!

Well done on the loss. Remember my old saying - small steps, significant progress. Any loss is a loss!

'wave to hecate'

glad you found us ;)

well done on weight loss and I often make bns soup and its yummy

I had better eat it tom as been very bad with the Chinese

'strolls to bench'

bebejones · 10/10/2010 16:08

Having a 'bad' weekend, too much cake Blush

Just found out my Great-Grandma died yesterday, she was 105. :( Not sure how to feel about it really. She was amazing, but at 105 I don't feel like she has been 'robbed' of her life IYKWIM? Hard to explain :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/10/2010 16:40

aww bebe, you deserve cake - sorry to hear about your grandma (rip granny bebe)

ive been good so far, i did have a huge portion of bns as ate so much yesterday, but i also feel like a glass of diet coke as i drank so much of it

its weird i can drink lots of wine/beer etc but hard to drink pints of coke Grin

bebejones · 10/10/2010 16:45

Still feel like I ought to be sitting on the bench of shame! Had a McDs for lunch Blush very ashamed!

Have got a freezer full of BNS & veg soup for the week. Will try & redeem myself!

Blondes - fizzy drinks in general are always difficult for me, the bubbles make me really bloated I think! Hate coke though, yuk!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/10/2010 16:54

sorry great grandma and no dont sit on the bench of shame, you needed it

think coke bloats me as well - been farting/burping all day

HecateQueenOfWitches · 10/10/2010 17:14

really sorry about your great gran, bebe. i understand exactly what you mean, my grandad died recently - the day before his 87th birthday and i feel like we were 'robbed'. 87, 97, 107 years seems like a long time when you're young and you say it - 90 years old! but when you're there - yourself or facing the loss of a loved one - it seems like no time at all. Sad

HecateQueenOfWitches · 10/10/2010 17:17

I'm having a good diet day today. I've drunk lots of water and I made a huge batch of soup and I'm sitting here enjoying it.

it's chopped carrot, chopped onion, chopped celery and 2 cans of chopped tomatoes, with pint and half of veg stock and a tablespoon of salt, simmered for half an hour then pureed. it's really thick and creamy and very filling. even the KIDS are eating it! Shock

DespicableMe · 10/10/2010 17:25

Hello...

Is it too late to join this thread? I am a complete Mumsnet newbie and discussion board virgin. Please be kind to me!

I started in April at 14st10lbs and have got to 12st1lb. But having stalled altogether now I have come in search of inspiration and solidarity!

HecateQueenOfWitches · 10/10/2010 17:29

ooh, well done on loss so far! That's great!

My new best friend is soup! Grin I'm doing weightwatchers and they have some FAB zero point soup. You can scoff yourself silly on it Grin and never feel hungry and know that it's not piling on the pounds.

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/10/2010 17:39

well done on your loss so far

welcome - add your name to list (found it for you)

hecate, basically any veg (apart from the 3 p's pots/peas/parnsip) in stock with tin of toms = 0 point soup :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/10/2010 18:15

what weight would you ideally like to get to?

hecate - you didnt really put in a tablespoon of salt did you Shock

DespicableMe · 10/10/2010 18:55

My target is 11st6lbs and I'm currently 12st1lb. So close yet so far! Things have slowed and slowed and now at a standstill. I know why - I have lost that thing that motivates you.

BTW, Weight Watchers malted bread makes AMAZING toast! Just having some now... so I am being good. But does the glass of wine cancel it out??? Wink

HecateQueenOfWitches · 10/10/2010 19:19

Yes. A level one, not a heaped one. So what's that? about 2 teaspoons?

Is that too much? Blush It was really a HUGE pot of soup.
