Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

OP posts:
bebejones · 08/10/2010 12:05

Piste - I usually wear a tankini, I can't get a one piece that fits comfortably & I'm definitely not ok with a bikini after having DD :( I always feel a bit rubbish about putting my cossie on but try & convince myself that no one will be looking at me anyway!! Hmm

Have spent the morning cooking!
Made a choc cake (mostly for DH and the ILs, but might have a sneaky weigh day sliver :o), have a very large pot of soup cooking (BNS, sweet potato, red pepper & tomato) am a bit worried it's going to bubble all over the cooker! Confused Also walked to Tesco to get some strawberries, am using up the blackberries in my freezer with them to make some jam so have put them in some lemon & sugar in the fridge to soak overnight, jam making will be 2moro's 'project'.

Thinking about taking up running, not sure, really need to do some exercise & I could do this of an evening when DH is home with DD. I don't want to push myself too much though, need to be really careful to not overdo it, I don't want a relapse before Christmas! What should I do...running/exercise wise?

bebejones · 08/10/2010 12:06

Trimmer, might look the cake up online, don't have any Nigella books! They are on my Christmas list! :o

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2010 12:11

i gained a 1 lb :(

tbh i TOTALLY deserve to have gained 4 lbs+ as was out last Saturday for meal/drinks/kebab/sunday roast and crumble+pudding/2 yum yums/lemon cake and 4 ginger crunch creams, full fat quiche on wed

but i was good yesterday Grin

so i wont complain :)

trimmer and piste - well done for sts

bebejones · 08/10/2010 12:16

Blondes - 1lb isn't that bad considering how naughty you were! Wink

I know I have reached my 'official' target but ultimately would like to lose another 7lbs! :o But not stressing about it too much! Just gonna stick to soups & the odd treat! :o

Just noticed my cat has a bit bite mark on his chin! :( Poor thing, will have to keep an eye on it, fingers crossed it heals up, can't afford a vets trip!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2010 12:20

i know bebe, so i wont complain lol - i did have a total week of bad eating - did i forget to mention the 3 slices of garlic bread i te as well Wink

so you want to lose 7 more lbs, bet you will do that easily before i lose my final 11 - i have a feeling i will be on this thread next year as well Grin

poor pussy :(

prettybird · 08/10/2010 13:08

:( Put on 1lb :(

I wouldn't be so upset if I had been "bad" - but I had been sooooo good the last couple of days and didn't thnk I had been bad the previous days :(

Maybe the change in the weather is affecting our metabolisms Hmm

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/10/2010 13:34

GT - hope you feel better soon. I do have a tankini but it's really as good as new!! I think I could be as slinky as spaghetti and I still would feel unhappy in a bikini!

Bebe - don't go mad and have a relapse, you're too busy to have a relapse! You could try gentle running, sort of run to one lamp post, walk to the next, run to the next etc go from there, but don't go mad! GT is the running Queen so she'll be better on advice really! Also re your DH and skiing, he should try it! Your DD would love it in a year or so. My ski instructor last year said the oldest first time skier that he had taught was 74!

Pretty - i sts and I have been good. Frustrating innit.

Waves to all fellow Slnks.

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2010 13:35

((HUGS)) pretty - its not fair for you

i deserved to put the weight on but you didnt if been good

prettybird · 08/10/2010 14:37

I have, I have, honest.......

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2010 14:50

then doubly unfair

i shall take your lb and gain 2 this week and you can sts :)

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/10/2010 14:56

Can I have a hug too blondes? I feel in the need. :-(
Am absolutely drained today. Thank f**k it's Friday.

OP posts:
prettybird · 08/10/2010 15:03

Just been to see (finally) Toy Story 3 and had to share ds' large sweet popcorn Blush. But I only had 8 of his Mint Aero Bubbles Grin

In my defence, it was my breakfast (this was the 10:40 showing and I had a choice: do the Shred or have a "proper" breakfast Hmm).

All I had for lunch was a small bowl of the Tomato & carrot soup I made on Wednesday and a boiled egg. I've just had some grapes - so I think I have redeemed myslef. :)

prettybird · 08/10/2010 15:10

{{{{{Hugs}}}}} to you Piste. The weekend is almost upon us :)

Blondes - you don't need to do that, but thnaks for the offer. I'll "keep" my 1lb and hope that it was just an aberration and that I'll get my "reward" next week. :)

I don't think I'll post it on FoodFocus though Hmm(=whistles, not sceptical!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2010 17:13

((((HUGS)) for piste - agree not fair you sts if you were good, but least you didnt gain

i LOVED ts3 - did you cry coz i did - i also love mint bubbles - you reminded me i also had a bg of those tuesday night as was working late

so again im happy with my lb gain

i WILL get it off next week

im also surprised that food focus deleted you all, i go on it every now and again to do my weight chart and ive not be deleted - so weird you lot have

RatherBeOnThePiste · 08/10/2010 17:31

Thanks guys...am feeling the lervvve!! DH is on his way back from the airport and it's Friday!! Wooohoooo!

I am going to try really hard this week. A Concerted Effort. Hopefully that might do the trick. Grin

OP posts:
prettybird · 08/10/2010 17:59

I was off it for 3 months...... BlushBlush

Am now being very conscientious! Grin

JODIEwantsanewname · 08/10/2010 18:11

Hi ladies,

Well done on your efforts this week and esp. well done to Pretty for doing the shread again today, is that day 20?

Isn't TS3 FAB!! I loved it and can't wait for the DVD, I blubbed like a baby Grin and popcorn isn't that bad is it?

I am still poorly and have hardly eaten anything for 2 days, I went on the scales this morning (just to see what a days staving did) and it read 10st 6!!!! I couldn't believe it! I know it's a 'false reading' but it was so nice to see that! I haven't been that light since I don't know when. (I was 11st3 when I got pregnant with DS1, then I lost that and extra and was 10st5 when I fell with DS2)

piste enjoy the weekend with the whole family, how is DD's friend now?

Trimmer how's the training going? WHen is the big day? Hw can I sponser you?

Bebe I can't believe I missed it, but just read the list properly and you are at goal!!!!! Well done lady! Grin You have done us all proud! Has your DH lost anything yet?

Blondes How is it all going with DH now?

Right, better go and get kiddywinkles ready for bed.

bebejones · 08/10/2010 18:21

Dinner plans have gone out of the window as had to take DD round to the doctors! :( All ok, but means we have had to order some ta Blush having a pizza, but only a little one which I'm sharing with DD.

Oh well, shall be back on soups 2moro!

Jodie - you never know you might be able to keep those few lbs off! Hope you feel better soon!

I really want to see TS3, will have to wait for the dvd though, I never get to go to the cinema anymore!

prettybird · 08/10/2010 18:23

Jodie - that's fantastic :)

You're right - that was Day 20 of the Shred. Level 3 now looms [gulp]

FoodFocus is really helping me stay focussed - even if it is only the shame of having to input everything that has passed mey lips Blush A great incentive not to have a Mars Bar Grin. However, I don't seem to have any shame in inputting glasses of wine HmmwhistlesHmmBlush

You've reminded me: GT - can you post that link again so that I can sponsor you (says I being too lazy to scroll down to find it)

TS3 is very good - I laughed out loud at points and although I didn't actually cry, it was very moving at the end. Ds did say to me at one point early on when they were doing the video of the young Andy "that's like me and my teddies :)" I am still upset that I lost my "Big Ted" ( a large Rupert Bear that had lost his clothes - actually I can't remember ever having them - and was so worn that he had a piece of silky purple dress material as a belly-btton-like-patch) during a move when I was twenty six Blush

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2010 18:45

Fab jodie. Well done

things ok with dh - had a few dreadful weeks moments but don't want to say too much on here as the Internet has eyes but things improving but thanks for asking :)

bebe. Sorry dd not well and we all know pizza is medicinal :)

Murtette · 08/10/2010 20:08

We're not a happy household. DD and DP have both got stinking colds and I'm knackered from being up half the night with DD and then she was so clingy today. Poor little mite, she's never really been ill before.

DP has made me laugh. I was reading through the thread earlier with him looking over my shoulder. He saw the list with our updated weights and for some reason zoned in on Bebe. 20 mins later, he's still spluttering about the fact that you've lost 4st 8. He keeps making comments like "I weighed that much when I was 6" (no idea if he knows that or if he's making it up) or "but that's a third of her body weight" or "has she actually eaten anything this year" with several "good lord"'s thrown in for good measure!

Jodie - well done! Surely some of those lbs will stay off.

Piste - I know what you mean about bikinis. I did love wearing a bikini when I was pregnant as I didn't have to worry about my tummy sticking out.

Pretty - your good work will pay off and you'll see a loss next week.

Bebe - well done on losing most of your holiday gain. I think our name should be changed to "A Winter Waif and several Wannabe Winter Waifs" in honour of you getting to your target! Can you ask your doctor about suggestions for what exercise you could/should do? What about swimming or aqua aerobics as that would put less stress on your joints.

Blondes - Envy says it all really!

Trimmer - I hope you don't come down with anything. Take things gently this weekend. I'm afraid I don't sponsor anyone as I decided I'd prefer to make regular monthly donations to a few charities which mean something to me. It means that when I do a Race for Life I end up sponsoring myself!

bebejones · 08/10/2010 21:28

Murtette - It's so horrid when LOs are ill, hope she is better soon.
lol at your DH, I had a fair bit to lose & have been (mostly) very strict with myself!
Had thought about swimming but would take more organising to go and do it IYSWIM? If I did running I can just pop out & run round the block as and when! Hmm Maybe I just start with some vigourous walking?! :o

I ate my little pizza, and bailey's ice cream Blush so good, will be doing my 60sit ups before bed!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/10/2010 22:12

Murtette sorry dd and dh ill - hope you don't catch it :(

anyone seen Hecate? Don't think she's jumped thread to here :(

bebe. Have you tried yoga or pilates? Meant to be good for inner core muscles

forgot to say I went to the gym this morning and my bc routine has changed - it does every 12 weeks and omg it was hard and I sweated tons and the press ups killed me

no pain no gain

my fb status was 'whimpers&crawls to car

and I'm doing it again tomorrow

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/10/2010 08:24

All these poor ill DC Sad. As they get older they really will get hardier. DD's problem was ear infections when she was tiny and DS had bronchiolitis as a baby so used to get lots of wheezy type virus things But, they are so healthy now ( touching forest amounts of wood ) dont need days off school, haven't been to the doctors for about 8/9 years( we were trying to work it out the other day) there is light at the end of the tunnel!! Really really!

Murtette. Am loving your DH and do you know when you look at the list and you see the total amounts lost, it is amazing. Because we are concentrating on small steps, day to day, looking at the total lost is very pleasing!!

Jodie - thank you, DDs friend seems more upbeat and happy ( her body language is more open ) she will never be free of this and has had lots of specialist appointments lately. DD said she had a meltdown at lunch on Friday because their usual routine of eating away from the others was disrupted cos some idiot thought they'd just try sitting with DD and this girl to see if she could cope. Grr. Well she couldn't eat and it has brought it home again that whilst she is happier and more engaged in school stuff Inc games, she is still struggling on the eating in public bit.

Blondes - you aching this morning?!
