Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

Piste - I'm having roast chicken tonight: it was one of the option on the M&S dine in for £10 deal this weekend. It'll last us 3 of us for 3 nights: today hot, tomorrow cold and then on Wednesday as stock for soup :)

I'll need to sauve up my calories for the tiramisu that I also bought as part of the £10 deal: managed to resist on Friday at the Italian restaurant but failed when I "had" to buy a dessert as part of the deal Blush......

It's been a good week all round for weight losses: congratulations everyone. :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2010 16:04

just had a huge dinner of lamb shoulder that fell off the bone, dalphonise potatoes and lots of veg

shant eat the rest of the week Grin

had one pork roll last night, mr blondes had 2

GettingOn · 14/11/2010 16:38

I am very determined to see some weight loss this week, doggedly tracking everything and sticking to it after my chinese on Friday. I've been out of the zone for so long, finally now back into it.

Pretty - I love tiramisu, don't blame you

Blondes - I am up for having a good week too

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2010 16:51

hopefully getting on (and btw you need to chnage your name to something else) you and i will lose a lb on friday

prettybird · 14/11/2010 17:21

I love roast shoulder of lamb and pommes dauphinoises :) Unofrtunately getting shoulder o flamg on the bone in Scoltand is almost impossible. The butchers up here always roll it - and seem incapable of understanding that you want it before they've taken the bone out Confused

I've just put the chicekn (together with plenty of garlic :) into the oven. It's done in a chicken brick so in 90 minutes, plus 15 minutes resting, we'll have a lovely juicy roast chicken (of course, I'll resist the lovely crispy skin Hmm). Used home grown garlic - it's lovely and juicy :)

GettingOn and Blondes - you will stay in the zone this week. I won't let you escape. Grin I'm sure with the incentive of Christmas, everyone is going to stay in the zone AREN'T THEY!!!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2010 17:34

thanks pretty,i shall try my best Grin

your chicken sounds lovely :)

i just miss not going to the gym, plus when i do go back, its literally gonna kill me :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 14/11/2010 18:02

Pretty...I'm on my way to Scotland! Shouldn't take long..!

Blondes - your lunch sounds nice too Envy

I am staying in the zone this week and am going to have a Concerted Effort.

I don't like tiramisu so would find the easy to give up Grin

bebejones · 14/11/2010 18:12

Evening slinks! :o

Mmmmmm roast lamb yum!

I have been reasonably good today

1 piece toast & hm jam (little bit) and OJ for brekkie
1 wholemeal roll with ham, cheese & hm tomato chutney, some grapes & tortilla chips for lunch
1 oatmeal raisin cookie (my one indulgance)
Gnocci with a tiny bit of butter and pesto for dinner (less calories than pasta would you believe?! Shock)

Haven't picked at all today! Very pleased with that!

I haven't food focused in a week or so, so am going to get back on that this week, I really need to rein myself back in I think before I undo all my hard work! I need to stay 'in the zone' at least until Christmas! Then I can relax a bit!

Pretty - I love tiramisu so don't blame you either! Wink Chicken sounds really yummy! I have to limit the roast dinner cooking, I find it mega hard work for 2! (DD doesn't eat any of it! Hmm Angry :()

In fact on that note, I need some Blondes supernannying advice!
DD is such a nightmare with food. Give her cutlery & she won't eat a thing, just plays with the cutlery...& food! She has always been awful, even as a tiny she wasn't interested in feeding Confused Alot of the time she refuses to eat or even try any of her evening meal. (The exceptions are usually pasta, in cheese sauce, and mashed potato) She won't eat, and has never even tried to eat, meat (apart from ham or sausage...oh and a bite of chicken in a fajita last week!) & will only ocasionally eat peas, which are the only vegetable she will eat! I can cope with her fussiness, but her playing with food/cutlery is driving me insane! She is capable physically of doing it but she is so uninterested in food that it's a distraction IYSWIM? She always eats meals with us & has what we are having (within reason). HVs are useless & aren't interested because she is still gaining weight(ish) Confused She isn't skin and bones, and tends to 'front load' with food at the beginning of the day. She is loads worse now she has decided not to nap coz she is so tired & grumpy by tea time she just palys up! I've tried switching her meals round so she has a cooked meal at lunch & something smaller (sandwiches, toast) at dinner, but it makes no difference & tbh I don't want to pander to her by doing that. But I digress, the issue is the cutlery thing, what can I do?! Do I just not bother? I know I should post this in behaviour, but thought I'd ask you first! Sorry to rant on & on!

As you were! :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2010 18:40

bebe junior is 2 isnt she -same age as my babs

i wouldnt pander to her, and i would try and give her what you eat (if possible)and if not def sit with her

give her cutlery and every time she doesnt use it then remind her, say no fingers etc

if she continues warn her you will take it away and if still continues take away and give nothing till next meal

im a mean nanny Grin but bebe babs is quite capable of using cutlery and is pushing you to see how far she can go, so you need to stamp this out NOW!!!

no child will starve theirselves, so if she doesnt eat for a day or 2, its not terrible, just make sure she has plenty of water but lay off milk as fills them up

on the good side, she is obviously thriving and gaining weight so maybe she really likes to eat a large breakie and then smaller meals lunch and tea

i would also cut out all snacks if she isnt eating main meals

GettingOn · 14/11/2010 18:43

agree blondes I'm not keen on this name.

Bebe, I sympathise. Ds used to eat mash, brocolli, beans, sausages and toast when he was 2.

GettinTrimmer · 14/11/2010 18:45

Back to how I was, much more upbeat!

bebejones · 14/11/2010 19:19

Yes she's 2 (and don't we know it Hmm) She only has milk at breakfast & before bed. She will eat maybe 10 shreddies at breakfast, a yoghurt/fruit mid morning, then half slice toast, some fuit, some cheese at lunch then possibly something in the afternoon (not always) then picks at dinner! When we take her fork off her coz she is playing, all hell breaks loose & she screams the house down Hmm then it really is fighting a losing battle! Must be firm! DH is better, and she hates it when 'Daddy is mean' (her words!)

Welcome back Trimmer! Wink :o Oh for DD to eat broccoli & beans! Thank God she eats fruit!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2010 19:44

Hmmm me thinks the naughty step is needed

if she screams , warn her what will happen ie lose food/go on naughty step. If she acreams follwing through - you must do this every time. She may scream but give it 2 weeks and she will stop if you are constant!!

Also sounds like yr dd is a grazer and therefore needs 3 meal times and nothing inbetween - she will not starve. Give her 30 mins to eat a meal and then take it away and nothing till next set meal time

yah - trimmer is back :)

bebejones · 14/11/2010 20:11

Thank you Supernanny Blondes :o Shall give it a go!

She's a grazer definitley, gets it from me and DH Blush I am such a picker, that's why I had 4 stone to lose!

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2010 20:19

Welcome

you may have a few bad days but I promise it will get easier and as long as you are constant dd will soon learn

it's a bit like sleep training lol

bebejones · 14/11/2010 20:39

Sleep training was a doddle, mainly because I was so mean! Blush I can't help it, I need sleep! (I blame the MS! :o)

Feeding has always been a battle though...nightmare! Shall be strong & consistent & no more snacking! (That goes for DD too Wink)

Blondeshavemorefun · 14/11/2010 20:57

Then be mean with food as well Grin

bebejones · 14/11/2010 21:05

Couldn't possibly be mean with food....it's FOOD!!! Wink Breaks my heart having to scrape her plate into the bin!

prettybird · 14/11/2010 21:15

Bebe = ds is ten and sounds just like your dd Shock

Like you, he has always eaten what we are having with us and doesn't get an alternative (exception is Tuesday nights when he gets pasta with pesto before going to his cubs). However, he will eat "properly" when we go ut, so at least he doesn't embarrass us Grin

Although he front loads (we've always had a good breakfast, and when he used to go to the breakfast club, he would simply have a second breakfast) and he now had a reasonable packed lunch. Apart from that 9and at weekends), he seems to love in air Confused

He is however, although slim, full of energy and last time I weighed and measured him (before going skiing this year) he was on the 50th centile for both height and weiight.

So all I do now is make sure he at least tastes what we are having, don't give him an alternative and stop angsting Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/11/2010 10:04

any weighers today? thought there were some monday ones

had egg on toast for breakie - was yummy

have a good day all :)

GettinTrimmer · 15/11/2010 10:36

Not me, Blondes - I've gone back to Fridays now with the ww weigh in. I had boiled eggs and soldiers for breakfast.

ds now sick with the bug, he was up to midnight feeling sick, but wasn't sick (he has a strong stomach!).

Murtette weighs in today? Good luck Murtette.

I'm in the zone today, planning on roasted bns, sweet potato and a bit of feta cheese and salad for lunch.

Jacket potato for tea with prawns and salad.

I WILL lose weight this week, would be happy with 1lb or hopefully 2!

GettinTrimmer · 15/11/2010 10:37

Although that sounds a bit potato heavy Hmm

bebejones · 15/11/2010 13:59

Had such a busy morning Christmas shopping!! Nearly finished now! Woo hoo!

Had 3/4 banana & oj for brekkie
1 wholemeal roll with tiny bit of cheese & ham & chutney for lunch & handful of grapes

Unfortunately it's chips for dinner as we are unexpectedly 'babysitting' DHs little sisters (they aren't babies, 10 & 14) & I haven't got (or ordered, awaiting Asda as we 'speak') anything that will feed 5! Was thinking I might just steal a few chips & have some soup instead. That would be very very virtuous...I love chip shop chips!! Blush

Was it Piste who switched back to a Monday?

Blondes - DD has been really good so far with her food. (Decent portion of shreddies, 1/4 of banana & a fromage frais for brekkie. NO snack, and 1/2 a v large roll with ham & cheese some tortilla chips & grapes & a fruit pouch thing) The big test will be dinner, but seeing as it's chips I doubt she will put up much of a fight!! Thanks so much for the wise words! :o

Blondeshavemorefun · 15/11/2010 15:25

Trimmer. Lots of carbs there but sound yummy

bebe. Dd food log sounds good. Rem no snacking between meals till she is eating 3 good meals

she will not starve herself so if she doesn't eat a food tea don't fret and continue good work tomorrow

i was out fo lunch and was a buffet thingy. Was very good. Had a huge salad and then small tomato cous cous and homous&pitta bread

feel quite stuffed

prob have a ww meal with veg for tea and pickled onion monster munch :)

GettinTrimmer · 15/11/2010 15:43

Although I've overdone it on the carbs now Blondes

Carbs now higher on ww, and I have 7 points left for tea as also had 2 oatcakes which are now 3 points (for 2), I think they used to be 1/2.

x3 points now for medium portion of pasta, so having pasta, quorn sausages (now 2 points each) chopped up and tomato sauce.

Poor ds just been sick in the school playground, he was off sick today feeling sick (but wasn't actually sick). I misjudged and thought he'd be ok to walk up with me but he wasn't poor fella, Sorry if tmi. Feel bad as should have dashed in and left him in the car. Oh well...
