Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

Bebe, just had your beany soup. So nice! I didnt have any paprika, so that would make it even nicer. In a way it reminds me of goulash soup you get in the mountains at skiing.

I'm making carrot and (fresh) coriander soup :) Ii was buying some nuts (the local Asian shops sells almonds, walnuts and brazil nuts for a fraction of what supermarket charge) and saw their bunches of fresh corainder (under a pound for a big bunch) and made my decision then :)

It's homemade chicken stock (found yet another carcass in the freezer, which I am trying to clear out) and I have also put in the bits of meat that came off the carcass as it boiled, just to up the protein content of the soup (no skin of course Wink)

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/11/2010 18:38

useful info thx murtette - i would also be on 29p instead of 20, but if they have increased all food and its points then surely all the same iyswim

i also would save points if wanted to go out and lose weight, ive just been rather bad recently Blush

i know the old points work and if i had an extra 49 points, thats 7 a day - wow!!!

but will be interesting if you think it works and same with getting

lasagne was yummy, may make with puke cottage cheese and egg but really think it would make me heave Grin

3 pounds this week. not too shabby.

This new WW plan has me quite confused! I'd just got familiar with the old one! Went to my meeting tonight and got the new book. I bought one of those points calculators because I'm not too impressed with that wheel thing! Far too much room for error!

DespicableMe · 10/11/2010 22:15

Woo Hecate 3 lbs well done!!! I'd love to lose that in a week - I average half to one pound.

But... I have some type of weird anxiety thing the last couple of days and have completely lost my appetite! Totally unprecedented for me - am forcing little bits of food down to stop the tummy rumbling but that's all I can manage!! Bonus!! Shock

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/11/2010 07:00

Not at all shabby Hectate, you are doing so well!

And Despicable, that's difficult for you - can you identify the root of your anxiety? Hope you get to a more steady place, that must be quite trying, but as you say, a bonus on the up side!! Lol

OP posts:
GettingOn · 11/11/2010 09:49

Well done Hecate let us know how you get on with new ww plan.

Despicable, hope you get to the bottom of these feelings, how are you today?

you can afford to force down a cream cake if you've had very little to eat!

I have been doing well this week, apart from last night. dh has gone to the midlands for work, and I cooked x2 pizzas (he normally eats quite a lot) and I had about 3/4 of one of them.

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/11/2010 11:22

Hecate. Well dine on excellent weight loss:)

des sorry you are a bit anxious. Hope feel more with in soon

sweet potato and leek soup today

if I don't lose a lb tomorrow will be very pissed off

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/11/2010 13:59

Such a busy busy day. Feeling stretched very thin workwise. Highlight of my day so far is Bebe's beany soup!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 11/11/2010 14:49

rofl at bebes beany soup Grin

just waiting outside school - gonna get wet again (for the 3rd time)

bebejones · 11/11/2010 15:50

HELP!!! I can't stop eating!

Feeling poorly, and miserable & comfort eating! So far today I've had:
Croissant & a little bit of hm jam
4 pieces of turkish delight
hm fruit & oat cake bar
slice of banana bread
1 malted milk biscuit
1 digestive biscuit
a hardboiled egg with a slice of bread & spread

I have no willpower :( It has to be because of the cold. I'm so tired due to lack of sleep all I want to do is eat! Will try & no pick any more before dinner (spicy BNS soup)

Little pickers wear bigger knickers! Confused

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/11/2010 16:35

That's not eating Bebe.....
That's grazing!!

OP posts:
bebejones · 11/11/2010 16:38

It's not good though! :( Stupid cold, just wants feeding crap!

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/11/2010 17:02

give yourself and your body a break bebe, ((HUG)) you have done sooooooooooooo well and you are feeling ill, so your body wants stodge&crap

TommyM82 · 11/11/2010 17:16

Hiya,

Kind of new here, and you've probably guessed I'm not a 'mum', but as a single dad I suppose I'm a spritual one to my little boy.

I work normal office hours, and obviously look after the little one, but I find it difficult to get to the gym, or do any excercise. What do you ladies to stay active? Any tips/ideas would be great.

Thanks

prettybird · 11/11/2010 17:30

A few of us are doing the 30 day Shred DVD which I know that dh's have also used and found tough. It's only 20 minutes of hard work though - so yuo should be able to fit it in. You need hand weights - so you could probably cope with the heavier ones (being a man and all that Wink)

There is also a thread spcifically for support doing the Shred here It's a sort of circuit training: 3 minutes strength, 2 minutes cardio and 1 minute abs, with 3 different circuits. There are 3 Levels: in theory you do 10 days on each Level.

Welcome anyway :) There are Dads on "Mumsnet" (even my dh posts on on occasion) - it is a parenting site (as it says "By Parents for Parents) - although not many of the Big/Slim/Whatever topic Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 11/11/2010 17:35

hi tommy, welcome - dvd's are a good way, the shred is good (when i do it) and also clare richards

smokinaces · 11/11/2010 17:53

Hi guys

was all set for a 2-3lb loss last week when a friend needed consoling over her relationship with wine - and once I had a bottle I indulged in the crisps, cakes, chocolates and cigarettes! So only 1lb down for me, but hoping this week is a better one, and at least its coming down!!

Hiya Prettybird, and Blondeshavemorefun,

Thanks for the info on the shred DVD will check it out and give it a go once i get some 'man' weights, sure I'll get stuck in.

Never actually thought of DVD's before but am up for anything and with it getting cold, probably the best bet :)

Thanks ladies

RatherBeOnThePiste · 11/11/2010 18:58

Well done smokinaces - you are going in the right direction, unlike me!

Welcome Tommy!

Hi all,

can I join you please. I had to cross another pair of trousers off the short 'clothes I can still squeeze my huge bum into' list this morning Sad. I need to stop pretending my washing machine is somehow shrinking all of my clothes and admit that all the cakes/biscuits/huge portions and sitting around doing nothing is probably to blame Blush. I forced myself onto the scales and I need to lose about 4 stone - argh, it seems an impossible massive task. I need some support and probably the occasional kick up the a*se.

I weigh 14st 2lb and want to weigh 10st.

prettybird · 11/11/2010 21:26

Hi there rugbylovingmum (like the name: my 10 year old ds plays Minis rugby and dh coaches Micros), welcome :)

I know the feeling about an ever diminishing wardrobe :( I put on over 3 stone last year after I was made redundant so stopped cycling to and from work, burining nervous energy and doing forced marches up into town (20 minutes away( at lunchtime) and am now working from home so still have reduced opportunities for exercise :( I bought a couple of dresses from Boden last winter, som much bigger jeans and one pair of "good" workk trousers but refuse point blank tp buy anything else.

Together, we will achieve our goals :)

Rugbylovingmum · 11/11/2010 22:27

Thanks prettybird, I've pretty much had to give up playing rugby since having DD so I just watch it with a beer now (hmmm, can you see where the extra pounds are coming from). I'm also refusing to buy any new clothes until I lose some weight - I'm worried I'll get comfy in them and forget the diet. I hope we can both go shopping for some new slinky outfits soon.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 12/11/2010 05:51

I love rugby!!
Watching not playing! You are welcome here, add yourself to the list.

Can anyone see how blardy early this is? I just keep waking early since our holiday and it's driving me nuts.

I'm going to go and watch something I've recorded, DD gets up at 6 so I shall I have company in a mo.

Forgot to weigh today after my early start and a Mouse Incident. I had a sneaky peek yesterday and I sts. So I shall say sts.
