Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

OP posts:
Murtette · 05/11/2010 16:45

Well done to Blondes, Bebe and Pretty. Piste - 3lbs on during a week away is not bad at all. Actually, I'm impressed at how restrained you obviously were! You know you'll be able to lose that again relatively quickly.

Bebe - maintaining IS hard. I used to fluctuate within half a stone or so depending on where I was in my cycle, how much I'd been going out and I tended to know when I needed to lose weight according to how my clothes felt rather than the scales.

I've realised that if I can lose 5lbs this year, I will have lost a stone and a half this year which I think is pretty impressive (well, it is unless you're Bebe!) so that will be my new short time goal.

Have a good weekend. We're off to a bonfire party tomorrow but I'll be looking out of the window at the display across the road from us tonight.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/11/2010 17:49

maybe you have an infected spot/gland/pore bebe? and blue veined cheese wants to make me heave!!!

murtette - come on gal, you can do it - 5lbs till xmas :)

bebejones · 05/11/2010 17:58

Not sure about the lump is about the sizer of a pea but not red or anything Confused I got the bits that hold the glasses on your nose (don't know the proper name) rammed into the top of my nose/corner of my eye by DD headbutting me (accidentally) yesterday. Eye feels a bit sore too! :(

Come on Murtette you can do it!

I never in a million years thought I'd lose what I have lost in a year! But I really did have it to lose!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 05/11/2010 18:10

Blue cheese is my nemesis.

Bleuugggghhhh
Worse still than egg custard/ rice pudding/ Turkish delight/ anything wobbly. Bleugh

Sorry you got a crack on the nose BB, when DS was a similar age he caused me to have to have my forehead glued back together ( like stitches!)

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/11/2010 18:55

It's Friday so I'm going to be bad bout with girls for pizza and wine :)

have a fun night all

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2010 09:44

thanks for that gg

not sure how new plan works and tbh it would throw me having 49 treat points a week Shock

so i shall carry on as i have done before

bebejones · 06/11/2010 11:07

I have made a decidedly non diet Banoffee pie! It is technically my birthday treat, so I shall not be feeling guilty (Hmm) about eating alot a little bit of it! :o

GG - that article is interesting but it does make WW seem even more confusing Confused

Walked to Tesco in the rain this morning & hip is now agony, was a stupid thing to do I know, but just needed to get out!

prettybird · 06/11/2010 11:59

GG: I also found that article very interesting. It is also instinctively the type of diet I have started consciously to try following, ie not to stint on fruit and veg but also to up the maount of protein I have. A sort of "healthy" Atkins Grin

I have done Atkins in the past but had concerns about the strain it put on your kidneys (especially since I had had "leaky" kidneys whle I was pregnant). Last time I successfully lost a good amount of weught quickly was following India Knight's diet (high protein, low carbohydrate but still allowing plenty of veg): dh was away for nearly three weeks on his Master of Wine course and subsequent tour of the vinyards, so I was able to concentrate on it and lost a stone!

bebejones · 06/11/2010 12:56

pretty - I just spent ages trying to work out what 'maount' was...my brain is not functioning yet today! Blush

I definitely know I should eat more protein that I do. Trouble is it all has too many calories! :o

Smalline · 06/11/2010 12:58

Piste you have done very well just putting on 3lbs on a weeks holiday, I'm sure you will lose that in no time.

Murtette yes you can do it, I'll join you I'll be very happy losing 5-7lbs before ChristmasSmile.

Prettybird I will try and have at least 2 if not 3 wine free days this weekWink.

Well done to all the losers and all those who stsSmile

I stayed the same this week, not surprising as AF came this morning.

I made some bns soup yesterday, it was delicious, I make mine extra spicy with crushed chilli, coriander & cumin, next time I will add red pepper as well.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2010 13:22

smalline - well done for sts :)

i really dont understand the new ww :( how can i eat tons of bananas/grapes fruit etc as all sugar and always been pointed before

surely if i eat as much fruit as i like then will be eating like 30+ p a day so no way will lose weight

blondes is puzzled :(

prettybird · 06/11/2010 13:54

I think the point is that you are not likely to eat so many grapes, bananas etc as they are not "empty" calories (like alcohol or Mars Bars): as well as the fruit sugars, they also have lots of fibre which will fill you up. Also the fructose in them (the "natural" sugar) casue less of a glycaemic high (ie the reaction from your pancreas producing the inuslin to deal with it) so you get less of a rebound - and so fewer cravings for more sugar.

That's also the point with the protein - your body uses up more energy in porcessing it and it also doesn't casue the same highs and lows, so yuo feel fuller for longer.

GettinGhoulish · 06/11/2010 15:42

Hi all Smile I am thinking of joining ww again to get all the literature about the new diet, it looks like what I did anyway. I must get back on track and nothing seems to be motivating me Sad

Blondes, I think after eating 2 apples, a few grapes and a banana I would be feeling pretty full and not reach for the naughty stuff, like I have been doing with left over halloween chocolate, etc Blush

Looking at the sample menu in the article - that would work for me, with quorn subtituted for the chicken

smalline - well done for sts

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2010 17:45

so basically its how good you can be ie eat fruit and not chocolate /crisps

hmmmmmmmmm - not sure thats gonna work for me - i like crisps Grin

out at bbq and fireworks tonight - will have a burger and salad

GettinGhoulish · 06/11/2010 17:50

Have a good time. I'm off out to a fundraising do for the local hospice - no alcohol allowed as it's in a methodist church hall, my friend says she's smuggling in a hipflask!

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2010 17:54

i have been known to smuggle in booze ,,,,,

GettingOn · 06/11/2010 17:55

Changed my nickname again, just checking to see if it works.

Not sure if I like it that much, it'll do until I can think of another one.

Blondeshavemorefun · 06/11/2010 19:14

i like getting trimmer

bebejones · 07/11/2010 08:26

What about...GettinFitter or GettinFaster (in honour of your running?) or GettinFestive (seeing as it's nearly Christmas! :))

Ate waaaaaaay too much banoffee yesterday Blush definitely getting a hint of Nigella's 'inner thigh wobble'! Blush Back on the soups & ryvita from Tuesday! Need to focus in the run up to the big blowout Christmas! :o

JODIEwantsanewname · 07/11/2010 08:42

Happy sunday ladies. Sorry I have been AWOL, but been mad busy this week, and next and the next one after that, it's a mad time fr me at the moment, so please forgive me if I dip in and out every now and again Blush

I put on 1lb this week, which is OK, I have my AF and I had the WA meal and things in the meantime, so I deserved it, trying to be good now (apart from the Krispy Kreme donut last night atthe fireworks Blush)

having roast chicken, new pots and veg for lunch

prettybird · 07/11/2010 11:37

Wasn't good yesterday: had duck confit for dinner (made last Christmas, clearing the fridge out to make this year's batch), followed by one of M&S's melting in the middle chocolate puddings (served with double cream of course), and shared a bottle of red wine with dh, as well as the glass of Cava I had had in the afternoon (finishing the bottle we had opened the night before). Oops Blush

No exercsie either to counterbalance it....

Still, it is the first time I have gone over my "maintenance" level of calories since I starte back on FoodFocus on 6 October, so I'm not going to get too discouraged :)

Back in to the zone today. Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2010 11:39
