Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

bebe I chuckled at the 'slut spaghetti' with 'teddy bear noses' olives. She went off to eat the whole lot in bed wearing her famous black silk dressing gown!

Actually, that recipe looks fairly low in calories, it's anchovies/olives/bit of oil/tomatoes and spaghetti.

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2010 15:18

Slut spaghetti! :o I was quite shocked at how much she had in that bowl. Pasta is carbs after all!

Thanks for the tips! :o

Morning all

I didn't have a bad day yesterday apart from chocolate cake for pudding (with a touch of cream) Blush

Today, I'm having jacket potato with tuna for lunch.

Stir fry for tea

My exercise mojo seems to have gone atm, someone kick my butt!!

Anyway, raised £200 for the RSPCA Smile thanks again to anyone who sponsored me.

bebejones · 02/11/2010 12:14

Meal wise I was v good yesterday....However, I had major post dinner munchies Blush All bad stuff (Halloween leftovers) are now gone! Blush At least I can't be tempted today! Need to be good this week coz it's my birthday next week & I plan on being bad! :o

Well done GG! :)

Congrats Sandstorm on being an official wannabe waif! Wink

prettybird · 02/11/2010 18:24

Have had a good few days :)

Made a double batch of fairy cakes for the hospitality at ds' Minis Rugby on Sunday - and even though I was serving (and my call for contributions had been answered handsomely so we had more than enough cakes and marshmallow tophats for the kids, the visiting team and the grown-ups), I managed to restrain my self to just one fairy cake and two marshmallows :)

I have even not touched the mini crunchies and bags of Maltesers that I got in for the hoards of guisers who never materialised (we only had 5 that came to the door). :)

I have however, managed to finish one of the bags of monkey nuts (raw peanuts in their shells for those that don't use the term)

I've still managed to be under or at my daily calorie target for over a week now :)

Did Day 30 of the Shred today Am going to start gain tomorrw: hopefully, I'll now be able to cope with heavier weights now for some of the arm exercises - and maybe even try one or two real press-ups. I was thinking of alternatiing it with starting to run again - but the weather the moment isn't exactly conducive to that idea Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2010 18:37

least you have chocolate left pretty,we had tons of scroungers kids and ate us out of house and home!!!!

been goodish , went to pizza express but had diet coke instead of wine and a diet pizza with salad in the middle instead of my usual pizza and garlic cheesey bread

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/11/2010 20:20

Help me!

I cannot get re motivated. I need a stern talking to.
Or a swift kick up the arse. Feel bleeuugghhh and holiday bluesish. Help!

OP posts:
bebejones · 02/11/2010 20:26

Piste I'm struggling too! Having never thought I'd reach goal I'm now sneaking back the other way again & am finding it hard to care! I am trying to be good, but chocolate & crisps keep finding me!

I think I need to look at some pictures of when I was bigger. Would that work for you? Also watching diety programmes helps a bit Hmm I watched an episode of 'Fat Families' on Sky anytime (there was nothing else on) and that motivated me briefly!

You are bound to feel a bit unmotivated & holiday bluesish coming back to the weather here!

GettinGhoulish · 02/11/2010 20:59

My problem is I had things to look forward to such as dh's niece's wedding and I wanted to look OK for the big day so had motivation.

I am wondering if we need to make some motivation for ourselves - I have a quiet social life these days so no big parties, etc to wear a little black dress. In fact any nights out will involve food Hmm

So I am wondering about buying a new pair of velvet trousers size 12 and aiming to get into them. Or booking a theatre trip and planning on wearing a certain outfit.

Piste, this is for the long haul Grin we are bound to go through ups and downs.

GettinGhoulish · 02/11/2010 21:01

pretty you sound motivated

bebejones · 02/11/2010 21:12

GG - I had considered buying a pair of....wait for it....size 12 skinny fit jeans!! Shock As motivation!

DH is buying me some new knee high boots & I thought that the jeans would be good with those. But obviously need to lose the few lbs I've gained in order for them not to be bulging-thigh-and-muffin-top fit! Hmm

smokinpumpkins · 02/11/2010 21:21

bebejones, I have a gorgeous pair of Next skinnies in a 12 - can currently do them up, but not pretty!!

I've not been around as had tonsilitis (which 4yo DS has now caught) and now a streaming cold. Good news is I dont want to eat anything!! Had a training course today and even avoided all the pastry and cakes and had ham and tomato on wholemeal with fruit.

Will be back for motivation and moaning when this illness has finally vacated our house

smokinaces · 02/11/2010 21:23

and just converting back to normal username Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/11/2010 22:51

its hard motivating - i should be in my trousers but im not Sad

maybe think of xmas and partys etc

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/11/2010 06:32

I think it is the lack of target like you say. I had aimed for our ski trip first in feb, then various summer things, our family wedding, then Thailand. But now am not sure what to focus on!

Probably also just feeling down in the dumps too!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 03/11/2010 07:26

christmas piste

its roughly 7 weeks so thats 7lbs off if a lb a week (yeah right Hmm) then you eat crap at xmas and put that 12stone back on lol

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/11/2010 08:14

Blonde Woman, you are right - Christmas it is!

Am making soup today for lunches and think that will help, because yesterday, I was so hungry I stuffed 3 pieces of toast, then felt grotty.

What none of us want is to slide back to where we were!

OP posts:
bebejones · 03/11/2010 08:35

I looked at some 'inspiring' pictures of how big I was before & feel a bit more motivated! I actually had no neck/chin, my face just kind of met my shoulders! Shock Blush I will not do that to myself again!

Trying to get DH to ask his dad if we are going to them for Christmas, this will severely limit the amount of food (and therefore temptation) that will be in this house! Fingers crossed they will invite us! Plus saves me cooking Christmas dinner for just the 2 of us (DD won't eat any Hmm) which is a proper PITA!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/11/2010 11:53

Went to cm and didn't have ANY cakes/biscuits etc - I ate my grapes

'polishs halo'

jacket for lunch and fish cake and salad for tea

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/11/2010 12:41

I am making carrot and ginger soup on my way to recovery.

Can someone give me a soup recipe that will make me slinky? Something really yum, but not BNS as I can't get to grips with them unless they are peeled and ready prepared! I am not of the Bebe ( chuck your ingredients in and it turuns out lovely school of cookery!)

OP posts:
bebejones · 03/11/2010 13:36

Piste -
Super easy tomato & basil soup
Soften an onion & some garlic in a little fry light. Add a tsp dried basil (or fresh if you have some) Add 2 tins of chopped tomatoes, a veggie stock cube, 1pt water, splash of worcester sauce, and a squirt of tomato ketchup. Bring to boil & when onions are nicely soft blend to desired consitency. Voila!

Chilli bean soup
Soften Onion (chopped v fine) & garlic in fry light, add tin (drained) of mixed beans, add chilli powder to taste, paprika & tiny pinch of nutmeg & cinnamon, add tin of chopped tomatoes, veggie stock cube, pt of water, splash of worcester sauce & ketchup. Bring to boil and simmer until slightly thickened. This is also yummy with some macaroni thrown in, makes it stewish!

Most supermarkets do a ready prepared veg soup mix that's quite good to just boil up with some stock & blend.

I have not been good, I have made fudge Blush I'm testing out recipes for Xmas hampers! Will send it into DHs office with him 2moro! As punishment from the dieting Gods I splashed some hot fudge on my toe & have burnt it! Is v sore! :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/11/2010 13:58

Much appreciated Bebe, thank you. Will try both for sure Smile Having carrot and Ginger right now. I think it's the way for me for lunch, then I have something yummy and healthier to look forward to than just stuffing toast!

Now Bebe, I am no chef, but even I know you aren't supposed to wear hot fudge!!!

Well done Blondes :)

...and welcome to Sandstorm :) My story is similar: want to get back to (just under) 10 stone (even just above would be good Grin) which seems to be my "fighting weight" in my 40s. Had started to develop a tendency to slip up to high 11 stone, which I managed to get back to mid 10stone and then was made redundant last year and put on 3 stone through being at home (am now working from home) and not cycling in to work and rushing up to the shops at lunch time (a brisk 40 minute there and back walk).

I've managed to get back to under 13 stone - but I find it's much harder now than when I was younger. I used to be able simply to stop eating chocolate and I'd lose half a stone in a week (OK, two weeks Wink). Now I have to really restrict my calories.
