Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

OP posts:
bebebones · 31/10/2010 15:35

Jodie - Mmmmmmmmm steak! I'm about to cook a syrup spong pudding, with custard! :o

Really will be more careful this week! The overwhelming munchies are due to looming AF I think. No one ate pumpkin pie last night, so will have to 'dispose' of it! DD is helping, she is a BIG fan!!

Think we all need a bit of bum kicking! I know for me it's more about maintaining, but I'm really struggling! :(

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2010 15:58

well after drinking 2 bottles of wine and eating curry/bombay pots/nam bread/popdoms/coconut rice etc yesterday and HUGE fry up this morning i shall start again tomorrow

SandStorm · 31/10/2010 17:20

Do you have room for a not so little one? I'm rubbish at organised diets (think WW and SW) and pretty rubbish at dieting at all but with a little support and encouragement (and someone to watch over me) I might just manage to shift some of this excess.

Murtette · 31/10/2010 17:30

I'm getting very comfortable on this naughty step. Do you think we could move it next to a smelly drain or something so that I might be tempted to move off it? Today I've hag a bag of haribo, pasta carbonara, an apple and a star bar. We're having roast pork this evening and although we're having carrot, swede and sprouts (all of which are 0 pts), I've also just peeled some potatoes and parsnips and then there's Ben & Jerry's for dessert. I kind of thought that as I'd fallen off the wagon, I might as well go for a spectacular fall!

Piste - welcome back.

Sandstorm - some of us are on an organised diets, some of us aren't. All of us are good at being naughty but we're also good at kicking people up the bum from time to time.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2010 18:19

Murtette - kwym - if we have been bad so aid it gonna be very bad Blush

sandstorm - welcome - I'm on ww but have taken a week off as been so bad [hsad] [hhmm] so starting again tomorrow - how much do you want to lose and add your name to the list

piste - welcome back - hope you had a fab holiday [hsmile]

I still havnt eaten since my huge fry up this morning but may have some soup for tea

right girls - I'm back on diet as off tomorrow and if I'm bad for fucks sake kick my arse BIG time

It's a few weeks to Xmas and I need to get into my party stuff!!!!

GettinGhoulish · 31/10/2010 20:43

Welcome back Piste. I didn't think Thai cuisine is that bad as it's plenty of vegetables, stir fried stuff?

Welcome Sandstorm, since I've been on this thread I've done organised diets and just healthy eating - do you exercise too?

Blondes - How is your foot now?

Right, lets kick arses I really don't want to gain weight before xmas and lose 1/2 stone.

Pretty - moving more quickly is a good idea, I am also going to restart the shred tomorrow now my run is out of the way, I have an idea of doing a shortish run then starting at level 1 again.

Blondeshavemorefun · 31/10/2010 20:57

Foot is getting better thanks , bruise gone but still swollen and a tad sore ESP in the evening

been nearly 2 weeks and still can't go to the gym which obv hinders my weight loss as well

'sighs'

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2010 07:21

morning [hsamile]

right diet restarts today - havnt a clue what im eating but will see what work have in - been off for nearly 2weeks so shopping is being delivered at 9am

good luck with those who weigh today -think GG/GT does

SandStorm · 01/11/2010 07:45

Good morning ladies

I'm looking to lose just over 2 stone to bring me down to 10st. I don't do any exercise other than running after the children at home and school (I'm a primary TA). I seem to have settled at a comfortable 12st 4lb and at my heaviest I was 13,6. I weigh myself on a Sunday if that's relevant.

How do I add myself to the list?

GettinGhoulish · 01/11/2010 09:53

Sandstorm, here's the list.

Highlight then CTRL C, do CTRL V and the list will appear in your post. Then add yourself to the bottom of the list.

GettinGhoulish · 01/11/2010 09:57

I forgot to weigh in today Blush Will do it tomorrow.

Dd is off sick today, it seems like she has an ear infection, woke up last night and told me it has been a bit painful since 'yesterday' but didn't mention it Hmm

I am making bns soup today, off to find that tip from Pretty about how to make life easier when peeling them.

bebejones · 01/11/2010 10:44

GG - I just looked up Pretty's post too! Am going to make a spicy BNS & lentil soup I think :)

Feeling miserable so not going to bring you all down, will be back later when I've cheered up!

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2010 10:50

morning (again)

gg, sorry dd has earcahe, thats a bad pain

bebe, why sad?

i have also made soup

carrot&ornage

2 carrots/tin of chopp toms/litre of stock/2 onions/worcest sauce and then once simmered for 20mins blend and add a bit of sugar free orange squash undiluted

yummy and 0 POINTS on ww :)

i watched a programme last night about diets etc

and it said that soup fills you up more,

they did an exsperiment and gave some people a roast dinner of chicken/pots/ and veg and then same size portion whizzed it up and made a thick soup

the ones who had the soup were full up and less hungary than those who ate the chicken/pots etc

so im going to try and have soup each lunchtime and 2 slices of bread - rather than have a sandwich

GettinGhoulish · 01/11/2010 11:38

What was the programme Blondes?

i saw one a while ago called 10 scientific ways of losing weight, and that was one of the tips.

Bebe sorry you're missy.

I am a little preoccupied, a friendship seems to have ended, someone I've known for 8 years. Very private person so wouldn't say what her own issues are. Has got stroppy with me over not very much and now seems to have distanced herself I suppose for quite a while now.

bebejones · 01/11/2010 12:07

GG - :( about your friend. Maybe when her 'issues' are sorted she will make contact again?

Feeling miserable because of my leg. Is so painful at night & I'm really starting to think that the numb patches are down to the MS. Feeling a bit wobbly. I don't want steroids again :(

I have made the BNS soup, blended it up, tasted before putting in lentils & now not sure I need to, it's quite yummy without! (Very surprised coz I made it up when I discovered a lack of sweetcornConfused) I was going to put some lentils in to bulk it up a bit for a stewy type dinner...Hmm What you guys think? I suppose I could freeze it without the lentils and then I can add them when reheating?

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2010 12:27

i think it was that gg, was a repeat on something on sky

thought was interesting and im gulping down soup and its scruumy - might even prefer it to bns - the ornage gives it a kick

sorry about your friend, sounds as if she has stuff going on so maybe email her and just say you are there if she wants a shoulder/chat etc

and bebe sorry about your leg, hopefully will pass without the need for medication

i would leave the lentils out of bns, but only as cant stand tham Grin when i make bns i literally use stock/bns and onion and seasoning

GettinGhoulish · 01/11/2010 12:47

Thanks bebe, best sometimes to give people space....

Sorry about your leg, you must be knackered Sad

I think veggie stews are very good for the ol weight loss - I think bulking your bns soups up with lentils will be very filling with a minimal amount of calories, good idea.

I really fancy veggie stew and dumplings, I know there is probably a recipe somewhere.

Did you see Nigella? Food porn on a new level - her veggie kebab: "take a flat bread, smother it with houmous, chips on top and apply to face." Grin

GettinGhoulish · 01/11/2010 12:55

Blondes - I think she has distanced herself so much and hasn't talked to me about anything personal for a long time Sad I think I have to leave it tbh.

I wrote down those 10 scientific tips, have to drag dd to Sainsbury's (she seems brighter, sure nothing much wrong with her) I posted them months ago, I can post them again?

Tbh I need to get some focus back so probably a good idea.

bebejones · 01/11/2010 13:10

GG - LOVED the veggie kebab! DH was very taken with the spanish chicken & cheese tortilla (can't remember what she called it) The fruit tart had me literally salivating! I love lemon curd!

Blondes - I like lentils, although a spicy/lentil/BNS combination could be deadly!!

Think I will leave them out to give me the option of adding them later of leaving it without!

I softened a large onion in some fry light (5 sprays), added a dollop of curry paste (yes I know it's in oil, but didn't add much) Then added the 'softened' BNS (thank you Pretty for the tip) simmered it in chicken (oxo) stock & then blended, tis really scrummy! Can't be that bad despite the oil. :)

bebejones · 01/11/2010 13:11

GG - I remember you posting tips, would be interested if you reposted them! :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 01/11/2010 13:11

yes please if you can find them, i did see the show before, but i was flicking through tv last night and thought a diet programme might kick start me again

and it has Grin

sorry about your friend, i would give one last chance and contact her, then least ball is in her court so to speak

Murtette · 01/11/2010 13:47

Oh, its been busy on here this morning!

I weighed in and had put on 2lbs but not surprising given the weekend. New month; new me...I will be GOOD! Although had a cheese sarnie for lunch as nothing else in. I'll buy loads of veggies in the supermarket this pm.

Bebe - why the blues?

Blondes - did you know WW are about to totally change so that its not points any more?

GG - how is your DD? Friends can be odd sometimes. I have one when our friendship totally fluctuates from being bosom pals to her being really distand and now I just take her as she comes and never get too reliant on her.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 01/11/2010 14:55

Greetings all...

Welcome Pumpkins and Sandstorm - two new friends in my absence!

GT - congratulations on achieving your run, that is an amazing success!
Your poor DD, earache is horrid, hope she is better soon.

Blondes - Piste kicks her arse really hard ( just in case ) Sorry your foot is still not right. Did you scare away any trick or treaters?

Bebe - Hope you don't have to resort to steroids.

Murtette - Sorry you gained

Thai food is absolutely divine and I know because I had LOADS!! It tends to be quite saucy ( like me) with coconut and peanut used widely, also think lovely noodly things and rice. Dribbles. Also factor in the booze! We had hot hot hot weather, which was great especially as I feel the cold now, so that was fab. All in all it was great, but a very long way to go for a week and a bit. Door to door on the way home it took 23 hours! Still, I'd do it again!!

OP posts:
GettinGhoulish · 01/11/2010 15:10

murtette I agree with blondes, a few of us finding our mojos again.

Friend sounds like your friend - she can make an effort then becomes distant. Dd is comfortably settled down now watching christmas Spongebob, she's gone a bit lethargic again. She did cry last night, I dosed her up with calpol and a bit of nurofen it was quite painful - have an appointment at GP this evening

Blondes/Bebe/all slinkies here are the tips. I wrote them down in my adress book while watching the programme:

1 Don't Miss Meals

2 Have a smaller plate

3 Count your calories

4 Don't blame your metabolism

5 Protein staves off hunger pangs (very true - eggs for breakfast and I'm full till lunch)

6 Soup keeps you feeling fuller for longer

7 The wider the choise the more you eat (hence the buffet disasters!)

8 Low fat dairy helps you get rid of more fat (can't remember anything about this) What did they do Blondes?

9 Exercise goes on burning fat even when you're asleep.

10 Keep moving and lose weight (Pretty, you said this in your post a little while ago - said you've started moving more quickly??)
