Piste is busily plumping up the cushions and making a space for Blondes to dump the naughty step.

Here we go! Let's see 2010 out in style my fellow Slinkies!

OP posts:
Blondeshavemorefun · 28/10/2010 15:46

or you can buy cheats ready peeled bns and sweet potato from waitroise [hgrin]

prettybird · 28/10/2010 15:49

I'm one of those strange people who refuses to buy pre-prepared fruit or vegetables (unless they are part of M&S's "Dine in for £10" offers).

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/10/2010 15:50

ANYTHING that makes my diet life easier im happy yo buy [hsmile]

bebebones · 28/10/2010 15:55

Thanks for the tip Pretty! :)

I fear my weigh in is not going to be good 2moro...the Halloween chocolates/sweets have been calling my name! [hblush]

Oh dear, won't be any left for trick or treaters at this rate! Shall have to get DH to hide them! Had been relatively well behaved up until today! Damn it!!!

prettybird · 28/10/2010 16:15

I haven't bought my Guising supplies yet (deliberately using the Scottish term [hgrin]) - will do a shopping tomorrow.

I was helping at the school Halloween Party yesterday: 3 hours standing on my feet/leaning over children's height tables helping with digestive decorating and then cleaning up added to my exercise total Xmas Smile.

For the P1-P3 Party (first half of evening) I was helping on the crisps, chocolate and juice "stall" (not selling anything: giving them away to the kids). Two of the kids gave back their bag of hula hoops having only had a few. I had to finish one of the bags of course [hblush]. I asked the teacher who was helping me if he wanted some from the 2nd bag (even fuller) - and he took the bag and put it in the bin! [hshock] Then of course, I had to quality-control taste one of the Freddo Caramel bars [hblush][hblush].

But I still managed to finsih the day below my FoodFocus recommended calories [hsmile]

GettinGhoulish · 28/10/2010 17:36

Pretty - thanks for the bns tip, I have to do mine tomorrow.

I've also bought 2 smallish pumpkins, but that pumpkin pie looks just too naughty after what I've had today.

I had visitors today, family, I made Nigella's flourless chocolate brownies (they were scrummy, and quick to make). Today is a write off Blush

Keep going slinkies, 'tis a tempting time of year.

Some people have said I look like I've lost weight, it must be the toning from the running.

We've not had a great half term as the dc have been poorly. I though dd was better, but I've just taken her to a party and she just felt very lacklustre, clung to me and didn't want to play Sad not like her at all.

smokinpumpkins · 28/10/2010 18:23

Evening all! I have had a good day - banana and tea for breakfast, beans on toast and tea for lunch and sweet chilli chicken noodles (ready meal) for dinner, with a Options hot chocolate and a couple more teas in between. I'm starting to feel really full of an evening now, so am hoping my body is getting used to portion size. My tight jeans are fitting now, and I can get in all my size 14s now which is good too. That 1/2 stone has really helped - hence joining here so I dont pile it back on again!

My weigh in is a Monday morning - never sure if thats a good or bad thing after a weekend!!

Murtette · 28/10/2010 20:09

Had WW WI yesterday and had managed to stay the same as I was when I did my cheeky weigh in on DD's bday so that was a good result given the vast quantities of cake I'd consumed over the weekend!

Just had a Shock moment when I read Bebe's comment to Smokin about trying to lose 17lbs in 7 weeks and realising it was only 7 weeks until Xmas. Its my bday in 2 weeks and I never think about Xmas until after that. I'd really like to lose another 6 lbs before Xmas as then I'd be the same weight as I was 2 Xmases ago, just before getting pregnant.

Smokin - welcome!

GG - Nigella's brownies are delicious, aren't they.

Bebe - how are you feeling? I agree about weighing rice etc. Its a real shock to see how little you get in a portion. And with cereal too. My DD already has a full adult portion of Ready Brek (although quite a lot does end up smeared on her face/in her hair/on the wall behind her head as she tries to work out how to get the spoon from her bowl to her mouth).

bebebones · 28/10/2010 21:29

Murtette - Well done on sts! :) I'm doing ok, hip/pelvis v sore, but hoping that the anti inflammatories will help! Bless your DD 'wearing' her breakfast! DD wil eat probably about 10 shreddies with a dash of milk for breakfast, so that's probably 1/4 of an adult portion! She is a complete nightmare!! She can however sense a chocolate being unwrapped from 2 room away! Hmm

GG - Brownies sound amazing!

Will be making pumpkin pie, but is going to be for Halloween party on saturday! That way I'm hoping it'll get eaten by guests and not scoffed by me! Wink Also decided to roast the seeds this year, fingers crossed that I don't cock them up in our crappy & tempremental oven!

Smokin - is that a tesco ready meal? They do a scrummy 'snack pot' chilli noodles, I love it & it's v low in calories!

Pretty - of course you had to quality control test the freddo frog! You wouldn't want the little loves to consume a 'bad' one! Wink Well done staying within your cal limit! What flavour hula hoops were they? The salt & vinegar ones & beef ones are completely irresistable for me! :o

bebebones · 29/10/2010 08:03

2lbs on for me!! :( Damn those minature snickers!! Actually more likely that it's my lack of activity this week. I normally walk everywhere I go locally but hip is too painful to do that so have been driving :(

1lb off this week :)

Have formally broken the 13stone barrier (again Blush)Wink. Now let's hope I can continue from where I'd got to back in July Hmm

Bebe: I'm sure once your hip is better, the weight will come off again. At least you know - and more importantly want to do - what needs to be done to continue the weight loss, ie keep moving :)

bebebones · 29/10/2010 18:26

Have been very very bad! Blush Pizza, chips, fairy cake, peppermint creams & a slice of pumpkin pie...with cream! (Which I'm not convinced is worth all the hype the Americans give it Hmm) Having a party 2moro with bad food! (Which is what I had to sample this evening to make sure I wasn't going to poison anyone! Wink) Plus cooking a roast on Sunday. Will be back on ryvita & water all next week! Have totally lost my mojo, feeling really miserable & it's not helping!

smokinpumpkins · 29/10/2010 19:37

Bebebones, budge up I'll share the bench with you. Done really well, but had a crappy day with car problems so am now wallowing with skips and Maom sweets. Gah.

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/10/2010 20:38

'shifts over on bench for bebe and pumkin'

I'm sitting here coz of my gain - kwym about lost it :(

bebebones · 29/10/2010 20:53

I think the shorter darker days aren't helping. My mood is definitely affected! Roll on clock change!

So bored of the same diety food, I need inspiring again. This weekend is a write off, will give it all some serious thought & start again Monday having had an extra hours sleep to over the weekend Hmm

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/10/2010 21:22

Bugger - forgot clocks go back an hour and I have a friend staying with her twin dd 'gulp'

I've just eaten malteasers [hblush]

GettinGhoulish · 29/10/2010 22:23

You've reminded me about the clocks Blondes, they go back on Saturday. Sorry about the 1lb.

maltesers aren't that naughty

You've still done amazingly Bebe, the 2lb will go off again.

Hope your car problems get sorted smokin.

I have just had a few nuts, then a bag of crisps before that and some wine so make way on naughty step for me too.

Could be an idea to plan eating more often - say x5 per day so that way doesn't seem too long until the next time iyswim.

smokinpumpkins · 30/10/2010 08:45

seems we all had a bad friday night food wise then?!

car is sorted - seems my beautiful children left my lights on for 24 hours, drained the battery which reset the electrics. And then got a nail in my tyre. Not a good day.

This morning have started normally with my banana and tea. Have a party tonight, but am on antibiotics so have J2Os to take - the no alcohol should help me avoid the party food and kebabs at 1am! The kids are staying with their Dad tonight, so I get that extra hour all to myself - yippee!!!!

Heres hoping we all have a better day today!

prettybird · 30/10/2010 11:23

I wasn't too bad last night :) although I haven't counted the calories yet Hmm Dh was running a wine tasting, so I probably had less than a glass (I "knew" most of the wines already and I was driving) and my supper consisted of three crackers and a 5 small pieces of cheese.

I had had a larger lunch than usual though - I had gone to see my dad, who had mum home and he has taken to giving her a "full" lunch (including a glass of wine) just to keep her calorie intake up. He then went to look after the twins while I took mum back to the home.

I've come to a realisation: one of the reasons I am struggling with my calorie "burn" compared to the way I used to be is that without registering it, I am moving more slowly that I used to. I used to walk fast or even run everywhere - and even in the house, I moved more quickly. I am now making a conscious effort to move more quickly when I do things. It'll have the added benefit of meaning that I get more done! Grin

Blondeshavemorefun · 30/10/2010 12:42

im writing whole weekend off, got friends staying tonight and there will be curry and wine

Murtette · 30/10/2010 20:18

Can I come and join you on the naughty step? We had friends and their DC over for a halloween party today which involved consumption of numerous cupcakes, meringues (piped into a ghostly shape and given silver ball eyes before cooking), jelly and I've just eaten a mound of chocolate. Oh, there's pizza in the oven too.

Lets see what Monday's weigh in brings?

Bebe - given you're feeling a bit lacklustre about the whole diet thing, is it worth just trying to maintain until Xmas and then starting again in the NY if you want to? You have done a fantastic job and are hovering around your target. If you starting maintaining now, you could introduce a few treats without beating yourself up and it may mean you don't go crazy over Xmas.

Piste - are you back yet?

RatherBeOnThePiste · 31/10/2010 13:17

Piste drifts lazily into view on her lilo, wafting incense fumes and tossing frangipani petals as she goes....

Sawatdee everyone. I'm back from over the horizon. Think I may have overdone the Thai cuisine. Ah well.

All a bit jaded today. Post holiday blues and coping with a seven hour time change. !

Had a fab time though, really really lovely and am off to read the posts ... Hope you are all well and still slinky!

OP posts:
bebebones · 31/10/2010 14:20

bebe rolls in like a sizeable barrel!

Roast Lamb was gooooooooooooooooood!

Welcome back Piste! Glad u had a nice holiday :)

JODIEwantsanewname · 31/10/2010 15:07

Welcome back piste hope you had a lovely time.

Is there room for me on that naughty step? I haven't just had a bad weekend, I have a bad week [hblush]

Weds was supposed to be weigh day, but I couldn't get to the meeting, instead I went to friends house and consumed a bottle of Jaques Cider and a 3 huge bars of chocolate between 4 of us Blush
Thurs was WA so cooked Fillet Steak with garlic potatoes and had Syrup sponge pudding with custard for pud (the only saving grace was that I had 0 point soup for lunch and the custard was low fat!)
Friday I cant remember but last night I had Pizza and about 10 fingers of Orange Kit Kat.
Today isn't too bad, but I seem to be back on bread again and that is no good for my bloated tummy. Need to get back on ryvita.

I did have this week off work though, it's so difficult to diet with the kids about. I'm back at work tomorrow so back to ryvita and apples for lunch and can properly meal plan again.
