(with thanks to Timba for title inspiration!)Grin

All welcome - this is a follow on from the September jeans thread for those who want to lose a little or a lot, but need some support to keep them going.

Am munching a Marmite rice cake as I type, and am about to force myself to go and do a Davina cardio work out, even though I would much much rather lie on my bed with a cup of tea and a book, and watch the rain outside.. Smile

Come join us!

swanriver · 02/11/2010 12:17

Phew got through yest eve without anything extra except melon (to keep dh company)

starving this morning when I woke up though!
Bread and creamcheese and plum jam for breakfast.
Lunch, rest of rather horrid brussels sprout soup and onion bread (from Morrisons, the bread not homemade Grin
Supper - dunno yet, need to do a food shop

Serendippy · 03/11/2010 09:44

Did my shred and ate well yesterday, luckily have nothing exciting going on in my life at the moment so no excuse for treats Grin

Have been a member of a gym for years now, still never ever go! Should really cancel my membership...

hmc · 03/11/2010 12:06

Oh no! - someone has cadged our name and got in their first with 'November challenge' [indignant emoticon]

  • how very dare they!

What can we call ourselves for a new thread now that October is over? How about "Autumn challenge - shed those pounds along with the leaves" (bit lame! Blush]. Can anyone think of anything else?

Glad to see you back Timba - please stick with us. Together we will conquer! Also good to see AreYouAFreud and Fruitshoot after their holidays

Looking through recent posts impressed that we are such an active lot. I'm doing better with exercise too now. Since having a TV and DVD put into my log cabin (last Thursday) I've been done there every day doing either Davina Fit or Rosemary Conley (she has the body of a 20 year old but this incongrous 70 year old grand dame hair cut - am mesmerised). My gluteal muscles are aching from all the squats and my knees creaking when I go upstairs, so I might take a rest day for 'recovery' tomorrow!

Off to weightwatchers tonight with a couple of friends - for some extra incentives to loose weight. Hope everyone is having a good day

hmc · 03/11/2010 12:06

Meant 'in there'

Shaxx · 03/11/2010 12:57

Log cabin??! Envy

I've been so busy during half term so haven't had the time to report in here.

I've been doing ok on the diet and exercise front but I think I'm just losing the couple of lbs I gained over half term! I have my weigh in tomorrow so fingers crossed for at least a sts!

I went to the gym yesterday and am going spinning tonight.

Food wise, I'm sticking to healthy eating and a definite food curfew at 7. My dh has got really bad at evening snacking (he had full blown flu for a week and I think he's been trying regain his energy or something!) and I'm ashamed to admit that I was joining him!
There is nothing that makes you pile on the lbs faster than evening bingeing! Yuk! No more.

hmc · 03/11/2010 20:41

Yes sorry Shaxx - I am crowing a bit about it. It's lovely though. Won't mention it again Wink

There was a woman at weightwatchers meeting tonight who has lost 76lbs since January! - am inspired!!

springlamb · 03/11/2010 22:30

Not so positive tonight. So:
shall we just carry on with our title? The way things are going I'll still be here for next Halloween. I shall never move onto the 'AIBU to own 234 bikinis and love wearing each and every one of them?' thread.
or even:
I have a log cabin too. I need it to keep all my extremely large knickers in as they're so big they don't fit in the house.

OK, OK. My brother in law weighed me at 10am and I weighed 10st4. Felt really good, but please don't ask why my BIL weighs me.
I then proceeded to eat 2 bowls of pasta at lunchtime then 3 pieces of pizza at dinner.
Somehow I do not think I weigh 10st4 anymore. And I now have only 10 days till my gym reassessment. Can you DIY kidney removal.

swanriver · 03/11/2010 23:40

lots of dancing this morning, and vigorous walking
ate: half a pain au raisin, milky coffee
2 boiled potatoes, tablespoon of mayo, sausage
I slice of bread
pheasant, boiled potato, baked mushroom (plain) apple,
and then just when I thought it was safe to get back into the water, along came a poundshop rice pudding (those long life ones in little yoghurt pots) x 2 during Madmen

oh dear, still feel quite spritely though
and no alcohol

Shaxx · 04/11/2010 10:25

1.5lbs off yay!

Lol at your aibu thread titles Springlamb. Mine is going to be 'AIBU for being narked off that my brand new size 10 bikinis are a size too big for me?' (And why does your bil weigh you?)

hmc the log cabin sounds amazing. I'd be crowing about it too. How big is it? How is it furnished? I love hearing about stuff like that. We have a summer house but its full of crap. My mission is to make it into a proper summer house next year.

todays food
seafood baguette (yes a strange breakfast but dh bought it for me yesterday but I put it in the fridge for my post weigh in treat!)
tuna salad
jerk chicken

hmc · 04/11/2010 11:18

Also keen to know why springlambs bil weighs her - is he your diet buddy?

Flipping heck swanriver - pheasant [impressed]. Never cooked that at home - occasionally order it at a restaurant.

Shaxx - it just has the tv and dvd player in so far (hence the exercise dvds), but have ordered a treadmill, cross trainer and bike from Lifefitness and awaiting confirmation of a delivery date. Will also order rowing machine when I've decided on make and model. Really, with all that available there is no excuse for a lardy arse!

Currently drinking my comfort diet drink - a home made mocha, consisting of cardbury's highlights low fat choc with a couple of shots of expresso thrown in - delish.

Tomato soup planned for lunch, with baked potato and tuna for dinner, and banana, apples and kiwi and melon ear marked for snacks.

Good luck today everyone!

swanriver · 04/11/2010 15:20

I do my own mocha Hmc cocoa, hot water, dash of milk, and dash of filter coffee, and psbly a teaspoon of sugar Blush

lunch was a large piece of cheese, large piece of bread (no butter) red pepper, pumpkin soup small helping
and another rice pudding alas, feeling bored by housework

lots of dancing again!

pheasant wasn't very elegantly served, no game chips! or bread sauce

springlamb · 04/11/2010 15:59

Because BIL is truly the only man (and I include DH) who can always find something positive to say about a tubby woman.
He weighed in at 10st10 (same as when he married my sister 39 years ago), my sister weighed in at 8st (skinny minny). His enthusiasm is so infectious.
As I thought, I am back at 10st6. Today the boiler has been condemned (although I have back up systems, so could be worse), my fridge has mysteriously died on my (so £600 spent in Currys) and my cough is back with a vengeance. I wish I was my BIL.

swanriver · 04/11/2010 17:31

o spring, very sorry about the electrics. Still, the fridge will be a lovely new one which you won't have to clean out for a while if that is small consolation.
You sound very thin already Shock

springlamb · 04/11/2010 18:02

I thank you swan. But I am very short, somewhat like an egg with legs.
Hope everyone has done better than me and lost weight/inches aplenty this week.
I will be back with more positive vibes tomorrow I am sure.

swanriver · 04/11/2010 22:16

I've had a disastrous evening foodwise

large piece of blue cheese
half a peperoni pizza
some pasta with tuna
and shock horror a glass of white wine

hmc · 05/11/2010 11:12

Your bil sounds lovely spring!

As always Swan - chalk it up to a bad day and move on. Don't be tempted to play catch up or you'll be starving all day and likely to lapse. At least you didn't do cake or chocolate, and it was only the one glass of wine!

I've done 'Aerobic fit' and 'Kick fit' on Davina's dvd today (about 1 hour) with a friend. All glowing and energised now.

However - have a birthday lunch to go to at 12.30 (not my birthday) so that will be awkward. I am happy just to pick at the healthier stuff but people will insist you have a slice of birthday cake! Will try and stay below the radar....and not mention the diet.

Shaxx · 05/11/2010 11:23

Well done on the exercise hmc! Enjoy the birthday. just take a small slice of cake and enjoy it!

Rubbish day for me yesterday too.
I ended up missing dinner, going out to see a show and then coming back home starving and raiding the cupboards!

Oh well. better day today.

2 weetabix, yoghurt, banana
baked potato, tuna, salad
salmon, veg

thatsnotmyfruitshoot · 05/11/2010 13:43

Grin at spring being an egg with legs. That has really tickled me.

On day 5 of the shred workout thing. Bloody hell, it hurts. But works. I already have thighs of steel. (Just flab coated steel..)

Struggling to leave the halloween treats alone. Think I will have to point DP in their general direction later, and let him hoover the lot up for me. He is an 11st chocaholic. Makes me sick!

I do need to weigh myself, haven't now in weeks. I would love to be 10st something for Xmas.

OP posts:
Shaxx · 06/11/2010 18:32

I need to start shredding again. I could see amazing results when I did it before.

I had a good day today.
I went for a 25min run - non stop! A few months ago, I couldn't even run for 2 mins.

Food was
2 quorn sausages, beans
baked potato, salad, cheese
chick peas, cous cous
I have a low fat yoghurt and grapes for later.

How's everyone else?

Timbachick · 07/11/2010 13:17

Ok, Hi everyone. I'm back so...

forgive me friends, for I have sinned ... it has been 3 weeks since ... I have eaten carefully, exercised or taken care of myself

there ... my confession is out there.

Thank you hmc for finding me and suggesting I come back. I have missed you all but have felt so depressed about slipping that I couldn't face anyone. However, it was pointed out that if nothing is ever changed, nothing ever changes so, here I am.

Today has not started well but I am aiming to get it back on track throughout the day. However, my 'real' start will be tomorrow with proper healthy eating and some exercise - thought I would start jogging again as I got fab results from that a few years ago. So, early to bed for me tonight and early to rise so that I can go for a jog.

Anyway, just wanted to pop in, say hi and confess.

Hello to all.

Txx

Shaxx · 07/11/2010 15:24

Hi Timba! Welcome back.
I've been absent here too from time to time because I've been off the diet. The best thing is to come back and get back too it Smile

Today, so far so good foodwise but no exercise.

swanriver · 07/11/2010 16:17

hi Timba, don't feel depressed, we are all here to moan not show off Blush

I am holding fast to my no -alchohol rule, and only drink sparkling water when out/socially but otherwise there is not much method going on.
As long as I feel very hungry when I eat and not merely bored, I reckon that is a good sign...
very little jogging here either, I need some proper running shoes again as I left mine at my parents in Eire (they were too muddy to wear on plane Blush

today I have eaten things like chips, cantucci biscuits (one) batter off some of ds2's fish a little apple patisserie thing, lots of peas, salad, some ham and chicken terrine, and a bit of mayo.
Also thinking ahead to Xmas, just in the sense of trying to hold back now so I can eat more later!
and done some walking....

thatsnotmyfruitshoot · 07/11/2010 20:10

Welcome back timba, and hi everyone else! No need to feel bad at all, we're all dipping in and out a bit.

I really need to focus on what I'm eating this week. I'm doing loads of exercise but spoiling it by eating things like funsize chocolate bars and the like.

Shred is amazing though, my shape is changing all the time. I'm not sure I'd actually want to look like the women on there, they are a bit too muscular, but a bit of tone and definition on my arms and legs is nice, and my stomach is flatter.

springlamb · 08/11/2010 22:40

Hello all.
I am in the bad place.
I am still ill and the cough is getting in the way of exercising.
It was ds's 16th this weekend so I attacked a box of Cadbury Eclairs whilst watching the Lion King at the Lyceum, then hoovered up the buffet at his favourite Chinese, then snacked all day Sunday when he had his mates round for lunch/party thing.
We had a difficult legal meeting this morning so I congratulated myself with a large pasta dinner with very creamy sauce.
Oh, I am in the bad place.
I MUST find some motivation and get myself under CONTROL.
Send me them yogurt/fruit vibes ladies.

swanriver · 09/11/2010 23:22

You need chocolate for your cough *SpringLamb and plenty of sugar/fat for stressful day Smile 16 that is something to celebrate!

I've eaten quite a lot today, but vegetables were in there somewhere. No cereal binges or biscuits or chocolate, I think the green things keep them at bay. But certainly had onion bhajis, cheese, rice pudding...I could go on..

Avoiding baking although I know it is seasonal.
