Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

Well when you put it like that...... disgusting stuff. Don't know why I ever liked it! Wink

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 13/04/2011 16:44

Hehehehe! seriously, Niecie try it!
Got to get on now, but catch you soon.

Niecie · 15/04/2011 17:31

No change for me I'm afraid. Can't say I am surprised given the distinct lack of activity this week. Went out yesterday for the day with my mum as it was her birthday and had a good walk around Salisbury (we don't live in Salisbury so it was a proper trip out) but that is the only big outing we have done this week.

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 15/04/2011 17:36

Well, the nurse used new scales on Wednesday and my friend who weighed in a few hours after me said she was sceptical about not losing anything as she'd weighed in regularly on her Wii at home, so nurse got old scales out and yes! she had indeed lost several lbs, so perhaps I did lose some!

Niecie · 16/04/2011 15:52

Oh yes. That is obviously the answer - new scales! It doesn't matter which scales are 'right' - it only matters that if you use the same scales to do 2 readings, you have lost weight. I like it. Makes more sense than not having lost for weeks even though you have been active and eating properly.Smile

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 17/04/2011 01:56

Sounds like a plan! Wink

Niecie · 20/04/2011 10:31

How are we doing this week? I hope you are both OK, especially you florence as you seem to have disappeared.

Don't leave me now, if only because I have this rather daft desire to fill the thread up and we are nearly there!! This thread has been one of the ways of keeping focussed even if I haven't achieved as much as I would have liked so it would be a shame for it to fizzle out.

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 20/04/2011 13:24

Nah! it's going nowhere Niecie...a new thread is eeeaaasy to orchestrate; I have done it before millions of times! Grin

Niecie · 20/04/2011 16:43

It occurred to me that if I had lost 0.5lb for every post I had made on this thread I would be at target by now!!

Hope you are enjoying the sunshine. I have just taken the children to the cinema - you don't expect that it will be 24 deg in the shade when you make promises about things to do in the Easter holidays. Still, at least it wasn't boiling hot in there! We did go down to the seaside yesterday -Portsmouth so not beach but still sea - not completely shut in doors the whole time!

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 27/04/2011 00:13

Hello, hello!!! how's it going girlies? I finally seem to be losing some more...possibly due to 'new name' Blush Grin

Niecie · 27/04/2011 09:33

Oh I say, do tell!! Is cougaring (is that even a word) the new diet solution?

I might have to try it........although DH might have something to say about it. HmmGrin

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 27/04/2011 10:28

Grin you need to have a relationship with a certain Mr Paul McKenna instead Wink

I can't say anything much atm Niecie, but things are a-startin' Blush with nothing going on at all yet, but it's certainly promising...

Niecie · 27/04/2011 13:04

Oh what fun!! Spring is in the air!!! Nothing like a bit lurve to put you off your food! Wink

I await further developments! I have been married for nearly 18 yrs so I have to get some excitement from somewhere even if it is somebody else getting the fun. You deserve a bit of good luck and a good time so I hope it works out for you. Smile

Did a bit of Mr P's logic last night - have a house full of chocolate which I am 'allowed' to eat but decided that I could eat it but that I didn't want to because I am not eating sweets and chocolate on week days now.

Spoilt it somewhat because I then stuffed my face with the remains of lunchtime's french bread whilst making the sandwiches for the boys last night, as I left it so late to make them that I was starving to the point of rumbling tum. Blush

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 27/04/2011 13:32

I'll keep you updated Niecie :) but I'm a bit scared to tell the truth. I've been hurt sooooooooooo badly by soooooooooooooooooooooooooo many men (two husbands plus two fathers of my Dc's, so not that many really)and now had 2.6 years pining after the last one on my own and not for the first time either; I've had several very large gaps of several years between men.

I'm scared of so much going into a possible relationship with a man young enough to be my son (that sounds so cringeworthy ). I don't look my age, but in the last 12 months, things have begun to sag, my pelvic floor is floored! and I know that my body has changed from how it was when I first met this man some 7 years ago. I don't want him running screaming from my cave boudoir at the sight of my overcoat. On the other hand though... he made the first move.

Oh God! I'm scared, confused, worried...

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 27/04/2011 13:34

And Niecie, and flo when you pop in, come over to the Paul McKenna thread and join us...the ladies over there are losing stones doing it. Please join in :)

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 27/04/2011 16:39

Back from my weigh in.... and I'm now 13st 10lbs!!! Grin it must be the thought of that very young man!

Niecie · 27/04/2011 20:46

Well done! Grin

That is fantastic - the dread 14st is behind you now. The rest will be easy!

Just exactly how old is this young man then? Biologically he could be your DS is 10 or 11 years younger than you which isn't the biggest gap in the world. Certainly not enough to put you off!! And he is doing the chasing so I think in this case age is just a number!

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 27/04/2011 23:42

Grin & Blush he is 17+ years my junior Niecie! seventeen point seven years!!! woo hoo!!!!!!

Niecie · 28/04/2011 13:56

Wow.

But it isn't that much - he is still a proper grown up by a long way. Now if you were to say he was 17 I might be a bit Hmm but instead I am Grin.

Enjoy it!

There is 29 yrs between my cousin and her husband which I reckon is pushing it a bit but only because he is the same age as her dad (but they are the weird branch of the family anyway for numerous other reasons so the age gap is the least of their worries). They have been married for nearly 20 yrs though and seem very happy so big gaps don't have to be bad.

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 28/04/2011 22:48

:) thanks Niecie! we'll see what happens

You coming over to the other thread?

Niecie · 29/04/2011 09:54

I'm coming, I'm coming!!

Going away for the proper weekend (Saturday and Sunday) to see the in-laws so being sensible eating is not going to be an option as we are staying in a hotel overnight and eating out for 2 lunches, 1 dinner and 1 breakfast. Plus the in-laws have a serious coffee and tea drinking habit which is always accompanied by cake so there will be much time, sat down eating.

On the upside we are going to staying together half way between our houses and will be meetup up in Stoke where I went to university. Very nostaligic. Got some old photos out last night. Bad move. I was so young and slim. They are right that youth is wasted on the young. - those baggy 80's and 90's clothes hid all the curves. I particularly miss my slim arms.

Anyway, have a good bank holiday weekend. Planning anything fun? Grin

SoloIsApparentlyACougar · 04/05/2011 00:03

Flo!!! FlOooooo!!! we're over with Paul McKenna; come join us please.

Niecie · 04/05/2011 01:37

Dunno where Flo has got too. I don't think she has been on MN for ages unless she has name changed.

Come back Florence, wherever you are, come back.

CheerfulYank · 04/05/2011 02:12

Come over Niecie ! I like Paul :)

Niecie · 04/05/2011 09:22

Thanks CheerfulYank.Smile

I have been over but haven't read the book yet so haven't made a proper start. I am getting there though - read the 4 rules last night so I've got the basic idea.
