Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

About 2 stones Niecie. Just read on the latest Paul McKenna thread that one lady has lost 1st 4lbs since the seminar ~ less than 4 weeks!!! I've not been doing it recently, I must admit, but I'm going to try to do it again. I've been so down and unhappy that I've kind of ignored myself iyswim...

How are you all?

Niecie · 17/03/2011 17:16

I'm a bit ropey actually. Good for a weight loss point of view but not for general happiness with life.

DS1 has been off 2 days this week with a temperature and a cough. He was back at school today. I have had a dodgy stomach - not hideously bad but not pleasant and I don't feel like eating at all. I also had a temperature yesterday evening. Thought I was OK today and then got hot whist ironing and did cool down afterward and realised my temp had gone up again. Damn digital thermometers and being able to take your temp in seconds. It is turning me into a hypercondriac.

Things still not good with you then Solo? No let up in the financial situation? Don't neglect yourself though - you deserve to feel fitter and healthier and it will cheer you up a little bit if you lose some weight too. I know it won't cure all your problems but if you enjoyed PMcK and think it will work then have some me time and do the exercises.

(Apologies for using the phrase 'me' time - horrible phrase but you know what I mean).Smile

solo · 19/03/2011 00:02

Tie a knot flo and keep on hanging on.x

florencerusty · 21/03/2011 11:04

today is the day so am designating it a no diet day :(

Niecie · 21/03/2011 12:45

Thinking of you flo, your baby boy and the rest of your family. I read your FB post. It was very moving.Sad

I have a Jacob too who is at home today along with his brother (inset day) and who is being a bit of a pain in the backside frankly. Thank you for reminding me not to take him for granted and that I am so lucky to have him.

solo · 21/03/2011 17:25

Thinking of you flo.xxx

florencerusty · 23/03/2011 08:29

thank you. I am kind of back with a bit of picking thrown in :( Started a dancercise group last week but so far it doesnt seem to be having the desired effect.
Will muddle along for the rest of this week I think and then take it by the horns again next. Sunday we are off to watch World Superbike racing so little diet food on offer there!

solo · 23/03/2011 09:53

Oooh! flo!!! Where are you watching the bike racing? I am a biker and used to marshall and Brands Hatch years ago Grin have a fab time...Envy

florencerusty · 23/03/2011 10:53

Oh cool - do you ride now? DH and son, and mates and brothers are all bike mad - superbikes mostly although DH is a bit more grown up now. He lives and breathes bikes lol. It's his job and hobby.
We're off to Donnington for WSB. Havent been for ages and ages although the year he won a GSXR we went almost every round to british!

solo · 23/03/2011 12:19

My ZZr1100 is sitting under wraps outside flo. I can't ride atm because of 2Dc's and only me, but I wont sell her as I know I'd never be able to buy another bike and when I do return to work, I'll need her for commuting.
Dead Envyous about your Dh winning a GSXr though...used to have a GSXr1100...very fast Grin have been a biker for 30 years now...

Niecie · 23/03/2011 13:39

Oh no!! More petrolheads! Smile

I have 2 resident car nuts here not bikers though. Actually DS1 is worse than DH these days. F1 season starts Sunday too.

Hope you are both OK.

My weight is down after last week's off-colouredness. Am eating nothing in the evenings once tea is out of the way which is a vast improvement and due to Lent abstinence. Hopefully it is a habit that will continue once the Easter eggs arrive and all that lovely choccie.

florencerusty · 23/03/2011 16:41

Oh well done Niecie - I am willing to bet mine is up! lol

Solo- It was a bit farcical to be honest - it should have been one thing and for supply reasons it never materialised and he ended up with a GSXR6 - which was never going to cut it - so he traded it in instantly for a BMW boxer cup which we loved and loved and then in a lean period we had to trade down :( sad coz we still miss it.
I tried to do my Cbt but just couldnt get my brain round it so have settled with being the glamourous pillion (DH's words) :) Mind you the farce did mean complimentary tickets to all BSB rounds which was a treat :)

Oh Niecie I cannot bear F1 - how do you manage?

Niecie · 23/03/2011 22:39

It isn't as bad as the football florence. Particularly as the football is on all the time.

I don't mind F1 sometimes - I used to quite like, well enough to do a fantasy team at work and to come first or second most seasons. That really annoyed the blokes too which was a bonus. Since having the boys I don't have the time to devote most of the weekend to qualifying and watching the race so I don't bother now and it ends up being an iritation because weekends have to be organised around the races.

I wouldn't worry about your weight this week - wait and see what Friday brings. You never know, it might be better than you thought. And if it isn't you have had more important things on your mind.Smile

Niecie · 25/03/2011 09:45

Well I am down 3lb from the last time I remember my weight. It has all got a bit disorganised and I don't know what I weighed when. I think it was 2 weeks ago.

Moderately pleased with that. Just got to make some real progress now as it is still the same old 5 or 6lb going on and off.

How did everybody else do?

solo · 25/03/2011 15:24

Well done Niecie!!! Forgot to weigh this morning ~ maybe that was my inner fat self saying noooooooo, don't do it!!!

florencerusty · 25/03/2011 19:09

well done Niecie. I managed to stay the same which is ok in the circumstances so after this weekend I MUST set too. I must be a size 14 by July!
Solo what a fab thought!

florencerusty · 29/03/2011 08:27

where are we all?
Struggling a bit here, but trying. Think maybe my hormones are wreaking a spot of havoc as I could eat a scabby cat and have an awful headache! arghhh

Niecie · 29/03/2011 10:01

Same hormone induced torment here. AF started yesterday and I would have given my right arm for chocolate last night which is unusual even when I have given it up completely for a while. I had 2 fig rolls and 2 satsumas instead and it wasn't the same although the total calorie count probably was (fig rolls 71 cals each according to the packet). Then I ate the crust off the loaf when I made the boys' sandwiches. With butter.

How was your weekend with the bikes, florence?

solo · 29/03/2011 13:47

I'm sort of here...not been MNing much at all...I'm not doing well at all; my ME is plaguing me a lot right now, so it's hard to deal with lots of things atm.
Keep going ladies :)

Niecie · 29/03/2011 15:41

Solo, sorry your ME has flared up. Is there anything you can do or take for it or do you just have to rest? Must be very tough with 2 children to care for too. Does it at least have the advantage of affecting your appetite? Smile

solo · 29/03/2011 23:49

There's not much that I can do Niecie. Rest would be good, but it doesn't dooo much really (sounds ridiculous!). Wish it did help with weight loss Hmm

Niecie · 01/04/2011 16:39

Forgot to weigh in this morning. Whoops.

I did weigh earlier in the week and had put on a tiny bit but I think that was the fault of AF because had gone again yesterday.

However, I did get into some size 18 trousers today. Whoopeee! First time in several years. They are a smidgen tight but I can do them up and move in them so not so bad. Have been wearing size 18 tops and skirts for a while but it is nice to finally find a pair of trousers in an 18 that fits.

Of course they could just be cut big. HmmSmile

Hope the both of you are OK.

solo · 01/04/2011 18:42

Well done Niecie! :) I'm static in my weight still...really need to get going with the PMK. I know it works, so why can't I knuckle down and do it?!!

Niecie · 01/04/2011 20:44

I don't know. It is so hard isn't it? The problem is that it does take effort and by the sounds of it you don't have it in you at the moment when you are feeling below par. Don't know what my excuse is!Blush

I am a bit sick of thinking about it really. It doesn't seem to be getting any easier. When will this healthy eating lark become second nature?

And I need to move more. Do more exercise. Having said that my hips hurt at the moment. I am not sure why but I think that because I am not on the computer as much as normal so I don't have my laptop on my lap and I am crossing my legs all the time because I can with nothing on my lap. Just goes to show MN is good for you!!!

Or it could be just one of those times when they hurt which they do from time to time. I am sure I will need a hip replacement in my dotage. Not long now then.
