Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

Oh dear Niecie - lets hope its a while away!
Solo - I am sorry you are feeling so off colour - dieting is the least of your worries.

March has been a write off bar starting my new class so here I come into April. Managed to weigh less today than I did Friday which is miraculous since yesterday was almost entirely a cake diet! Mothers day chocs to consume but sort of planning 1 or 2 a day ......... optimistic? most likely lol

Niecie · 04/04/2011 20:40

Here's to a fresh start then florence! The advantage of an all cake diet is that you get sick of cake eventually (even I would and I can eat a huge amount of cake) and you don't have room for anything else. I think there is a study somewhere that says that people who have a boring diet lose more weight than those with a varied diet due to the boredom factor. I think you should continue to eat nothing but cake. The weight will drop off!!!Grin

I am not tempted by Mothers' day chocs as I didn't get any - I did get some flowers so not ignored but DH knows I am not eating chocs and for once he did the decent thing and didn't tempt me.

Tomorrow might be a bit of a more of a challenge - the craft activity I have done for the toddler group I occasionally help at is cupcake decorating. I have made the cupcakes which are fine but I have bought all sorts of banned substances for decorating them with. I shall have to try and remember I am not supposed to eat them but what is a girl to do when faced with left over chocolate buttons!! Shock

solo · 05/04/2011 16:10

:) Hello!!!

I've been walking this week ladies. My car is broken again and this past two days, I've walked 9 miles plus and am exhausted! bet I don't lose any weight though!

Niecie, you need to pretend that the chocolate buttons etc are narcotics! Grin and you must've touch them for fear of arrest!

How are you flo?

solo · 05/04/2011 16:11
  • mustn't
florencerusty · 07/04/2011 21:42

well I am here and have lived through another March :( best start again but the lurgy doesnt help

solo · 07/04/2011 23:32

Welcome back flo; you are certainly a survivor.

Niecie · 08/04/2011 09:11

Hello!

Hope you are both OK or at least on the road to recovery. You aren't meant to be ill when the sun is shining!

Solo, hope your legs are surviving all that walking. I can't believe it won't have some impact on your weight unless you are repacing all the lost calories with 'bad' things!

Flo, good to see you back.

I have lost 1lb this week which I am quite pleased with as it has been a bit iffy in the food department. All the chocolate and sweeties I am not eating are slowly being replaced by cake so I need to get a grip. Don't think I am going to do a stone by Easter as I had hoped for at half term, especially not with the children around again for the holidays. Half a stone would be nice though.

lotSOLOvelyeggcellentchocolate · 08/04/2011 14:03

I'm not eating any more at all, so am quite sad about it :( and bloody shattered!!!
well done on the loss! Envy

florencerusty · 09/04/2011 14:11

Given up food entirely Solo? seems extreme! No choice but to survive.
Had a nasty cold and been picking so stayed the same but guess that was good lol. Gotta get a grip though. Am down to a 16 mostly so have made good since the 20's a while back. Just wanna do a 14 by July.
Well done Niecie - I have that same dream :)

Niecie · 09/04/2011 15:26

Well they say feed a cold don't they? They can make you very hungry. Glad you are recovering.

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 10/04/2011 13:40

Hehe! would never ever give up food entirely flo!! Grin

Niecie · 11/04/2011 13:46

Gah, went for a fairly long walk yesterday (about 3 miles I suppose) wearing a skirt and the tops of my thighs are now sore.Hmm

I thought that it would be less of a problem after losing a bit but apparently not. A sign I need to continue losing the blubber, me thinks!

Probably a good thing as I have realised in the last couple of days I haven't had puffy ankles for ages and I was getting a bit too complacent!

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 11/04/2011 22:42

Even some skinny people get thigh rubbing Niecie.

Niecie · 12/04/2011 14:56

Don't say that Solo!! Losing the sore bits was meant to be motivating - don't tell me they might not go.

I never used to have a rubbing problem so I hope that it will go......eventually. That is unless, of course, I now have mid age sag under the blubber and it won't go away not matter how skinny I am! Shock

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 12/04/2011 16:37

ooooh! no, of course your thighs will be fine gliders m'dear! mine didn't used to rub either, but I don't hold out much hope for gliders now...it's my age you know Wink

Niecie · 12/04/2011 23:08

Love the new name - very swish!

I would remind you that you are barely older than me and at this current time I would happily settle for no sore bits and a size 16, all of which at the moment seems very far off. Anything else is a big bonus and gliding thighs don't seem likely given the large amount of orange peel that they are made from.

Anyway, how are you doing this week? Is your car fixed or are you still walking everywhere?

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 12/04/2011 23:54

GrinGrinGrin

Still older though aren't i?! Hmm Wink

I got my car back on Saturday Niecie; what a relief!!!

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 13/04/2011 14:58

Weighed at nurse clinic today and no change at all...she says I've not changed for 8 weeks...

Niecie · 13/04/2011 15:16

Oh well. At least you haven't gone up.Smile

There is always next time and I think it is quite common to stall. People adjust their eating habits, lose some weight and then they hit the point where they need to adjust their eating habits again because they don't weigh as much as they used to and they need less food than when they started out. Not saying that is what you need to do but I think that is why I am not losing at the rate I was in the beginning and maybe it's true for you now too.

Have you got back into the PMcK vibe yet?

(and great news about the car especially with the children home for the holidays).

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 13/04/2011 15:46

I'm chewing 20, 30 or 40 (!) times each mouthful and I think I'm eating a bit less again, but I really need to get right back into him and soon!

How are you doing? have you thought about Pauling again?

Yes to car :)

Niecie · 13/04/2011 16:04

That is a lot of chewing!

I got in fits and starts. Not eating chocolate and sweets has helped but the end is in sight now and I know I am going to fall back into bad ways.

The plan is to only eat chocolate at the weekend but how long that idea will last is anybody's guess!

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 13/04/2011 16:07

It's funny, but if you concentrate on chewing what is in your mouth and not swallowing it when it is only half chewed, it's easy to chew that many times and certainly must be better for you.

Good luck with the chocolate idea...I couldn't do it...if chocolate is in the house, it has to go! and usually into my face!

Niecie · 13/04/2011 16:09

How lame was that last post - anybody would think that I didn't have control over the chocolate consumption.

I WILL NOT be eating chocolate during the week! (There that's better).

I say NO to self sabotage.

Niecie · 13/04/2011 16:13

x post.

We have quite a bit of chocolate in the house and it is actually quite easy to ignore it when there is a blanket ban. Not sure it will be so easy when I can have it but not all the time.

Can you chew chocolate 20 times?

SolosEggSpoonentiallyShrinking · 13/04/2011 16:16

Absolutely you can! AND you may find that you don't enjoy it so much as you start to taste all that sickly, sugary sweetness Niecie! Try it!
