Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

Well whatever it was seems to have left the building :) thankfully.

Arghhh the munchies - I had a rotten weekend on the diet front tbh - takeaways and even hot chocolate with cream.
Back in the zone hopefully now.

This cold weather cannot be helping us ((()))

Niecie · 07/12/2010 09:22

Glad you are feeling a bit better florence. Sometimes comfort food is the only food you should be eating so the weekend was clearly necessary and even medicinal.

Solo - it is definitely the weather. That's my excuse anyway. Wink

Terrible weekend for me too, foodwise, a bit better yesterday although a mince pie did pass my lips. On the plus side, I did spend 5 hours walking around Christmas shopping with my mum and we somehow only got a sandwich for lunch and no cake. Not sure how that happened and the mince pie when I got home made up for it.

I am so worried about the weight I haven't even been on the scales since last Friday. Shock

Well, that and the fact it I don't want to be out of my clothes for any longer than necessary at the moment.

Niecie · 07/12/2010 09:27

Oh and mightly peed off with M&S - some of my size 20 trousers are hanging off me. I can practically pull them down without undoing them so thought I would buy some size 18 trousers. Have bought a couple of size 18 skirts and they fit well. Thought it would be wonderful to buy some smaller trousers and feel good about things.

Got the trousers home yesterday and I can't even get the buggers all the way up. Thighs are too tight and they won't meet in the middle anywhere near my waist. Back they go!Angry

Right, I am off to play Away in a Manager for a bunch of toddlers, on the recorder. My once a year performance. Actually, my once a year of even playing the thing!! I must be mad!Smile

M&S things do usually come up bigger (that's why I like them!)

Florence, what do you mean left the building? is it just the mood or a ghost?

florencerusty · 07/12/2010 14:17

The mood solo. :)

As for sizing - it does my head in! I understand when different shops sizes differ but the same shop? What tape measures are they using? I have a similar thing going on with Asda jeans now. Some 18's are loose and no need for undoing and some only just fit! Ridiculous.

Once a year playing is impressive :) Niecie - do you spend the rest of the year practising? lol.

Well done on only 1 mince pie - I darent have 1 I can never stop there.

Niecie · 07/12/2010 14:37

florence - It is literally once a year. Well, twice - I practised last night, played this morning - it all comes flooding back. It is really weird as I can't read music any more but having the music in front of me is essential and I can't play anything else. Thankfully they restricted me to the one verse!! Grin

I find M&S clothes really all over the place with their sizing of trousers. Not so much other things although sleeves are always a problem for me with my badwings but that is my odd proportions. I do know they are cut smaller than they used to be when they used to pride themselves on all their goods being made in the UK. I have a shirt from the 80's that I dug out of retirement a few months ago and although it is a tiny bit tight at the cuffs and the very bottom button down the front, I can wear it comfortably if I leave that button undone. It is a size 14. I doubt I could come close to getting a size 14 on these days. I reckon that when they started to cut costs and get things made abroad they ended up skimping on sizes.

The good ol' days were much better - they don't make em like they used to. Grin

Ok, according to the nurse I've lost 2" from my waist since I started seeing her and 2.2lbs since I saw her last. I'm pleased, but I'm not convinced Hmm

florencerusty · 09/12/2010 08:57

Hey lets take her word for it! She has a uniform after all lol.

Hae snuck onto the scales and it looks ok for tomorrow thankfully!

Niecie · 09/12/2010 09:33

Agree - several years of medical training and work experience - she can't have got it wrong. Be proud Solo!! Smile

solo · 09/12/2010 13:38

Grin ok!

florencerusty · 10/12/2010 08:34

Here we are then Friday morning -
1.5lb amazingly - so now 12st 10.5lb

how is everyone?

going · 10/12/2010 09:19

Well done on the loses and those still going down.

Was here at the start of the thread.

Have lost 24lbs in the last 12 weeks which is 10% of my weight gone! I have put on weight three of those weeks, two because of holiday. I had put on 2 lbs this week mainly due to excessive biscuit eating and also due to fluid retenton as my period was due. I stood on the scales this morning and seem to have lost 3 lbs so feel confident I will be less at my weigh in on Tuesday. I also decided to start ww yeaterday but am not paying for meeting etc, just bought a calculator for £10 on ebay and will use that. Having my weight recorded on my wii every week works as well for me as having it recorded at a meeting and I also go for a weigh in with my dr every few weeks.

Niecie · 10/12/2010 10:27

going - Well done! Nice one - you are living up to your name - the weight really is going!! (I know, corny joke but I am knackered) I bet you feel loads better. Have you had to buy yourself some nice new clothes yet?

florence - well done to you too. You really are doing brilliantly. I can still only dream of being 12st!! [fmsile]

Only me letting the side down. Haven't weighed in today. DS2 has a tummy bug so life a bit chaotic this morning and I got dressed before I remembered I was supposed to weigh in. I will do it tomorrow. DS1 also woken up all bunged up and coldy but I packed him off to school. He said he didn't feel too bad and ate breakfast - fatal mistake if you want the day off school!

going · 10/12/2010 10:48

Niecie - last week it was going up! Should change my name to goingdown in the hope it brings me luck! At the start of the year I was size 22 Blush was 20 when I started my diet this time round and am now an 18 bottom and 16 top - really pleased, makes me more determined to keep losing as I really can see a difference.
Hope your kids are better soon!

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 11/12/2010 02:21

Late Friday sign in for me!

Weighed in this morning by my scales at 14. 10 so am a lot happier with that as by my scales, I'm down 3lbs.

Just need to get to 14st next...

Well done all you losers! :) good luck Niecie.

Niecie · 11/12/2010 11:04

Love the Christmas name Solo. I want one too but am spectacularly crap at thinking of names and by the time I do it will probably be Easter!!

Weighed this morning at 15st 9.6lb which is down just over 0.5lb since last time I dared post a weight. Probably due to having a puker in the house. Nothing is guaranteed to put me off my food than having somebody with a tummy bug in the house! It is more like a loss of 2lb on last weeks weight so I am quite pleased.

He is as right as rain this morning. Full of beans. DS1 still full of cold though and DH threatening the same thing!

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 11/12/2010 11:22

Well done Niecie! now to find you a Christmas name...

NoPiecieOfCakeyForNiecie ?

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 11/12/2010 11:26

or

hmmmmmmmmmm! tough one!

Niecie · 11/12/2010 11:35

I should name change really. Had this name since I joined..... 6 yrs ago. Shock

Am mightly bored of it - it is an old childhood name and I never thought it would be used this much use so didn't give it much thought orginally! But as I say, no good at thinking of anything else.

It would be interesting to see what effect totally changing my name would have - on me and on other people!

I did think of Theonlywayisdown but then thought I didn't want to be too bound up the whole weight loss thing!

Perhaps I should start a thread but then I am a bit worried about what people might say.Blush

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 11/12/2010 12:16

Why?! no one is going to be unhelpful I don't think. I've seem plenty of threads asking for new nn ideas. Give it a go :)

Think about what you like to do, what you're good at etc and mould something from that. Or fb me with some ideas (hobbies etc) and I'll have a think? Hmm

Niecie · 11/12/2010 12:19

Why? Don't want to either find out that nobody knows who the hell I am which would be a blow after 6 yrs of reasonably dedicated service or that I am either perceived as boring or something far worse!!

Pah! What a neurotic I am. I am overthinking. Maybe I should go for it.

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 11/12/2010 12:45

Yeah... go for it! I've been on here for nearly 7 years too, but no one knew me until 4 years ago Grin.

florencerusty · 11/12/2010 17:57

ooooh should I name change for Christmas?

frozenfestiveflo · 11/12/2010 18:02

does this work?
feeling fat today :(

FiveColdRingsForSolo · 11/12/2010 21:57

That's great flo!
