Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

We are in Hampshire so down south. Is it a Southern thing do you think? (Had a look at your profile so I know the county you come from).

I haven't lived up North except for my university years so don't know if they play skittles. We certainly didn't as students!!

florencerusty · 21/11/2010 21:00

You are about as far east as it gets and not much above us really except occasionally in worcestershire but much above that and they only know about bowling lol

solo · 23/11/2010 13:06

Battling on...

florencerusty · 23/11/2010 13:31

Well Solo thats way better than giving up :)

I have had an interesting few days.
Saturday night I had a lovely meal and a highly calorific pud (which was naff!) and then ...........

d&v all day sunday, chest pains yesterday morning and hospitalised til lunch time and discharged with no appetite, so in short 2 days of barely eating must have counterbalanced the pudd lol

Niecie · 23/11/2010 22:09

Oh no florence, that sounds grim! Was it food poisoning do you think? Seems a big coincidence that you ate out and were then ill. Hope you feel back to normal again soon.

Solo - battling is good. As florence said, better than giving up.

I had a bad weekend foodwise. Had too much chocolate as well as much eating out. Back on track today but daren't get on the scales as I don't want to know what damage I might have done. Blush

Might risk it tomorrow now I have had a better day.

Keep going ladies. We are doing OK.

solo · 24/11/2010 14:52

:) yes we are!

florencerusty · 24/11/2010 17:23

we are doing fab!
No a bug I think since my middle daughter has it now :s

solo · 24/11/2010 18:32

ugh! hope you are feeling better!

Niecie · 25/11/2010 09:21

Well, I went out last night for some pasta, admittedly I had quite a large piece of garlic bread too. No desert - too full. Hardly any lunch - mad fiasco with a light bulb to go in the rear of my car so I didn't get arrested on the M25 (long story but have ranted enough in RL), breakfast. Not much else in between. Probably within the normal bounds of calories you should consume within the day.

But still gone up a lb this morning.ConfusedAngry

Now it could be the time of the month but if it is it is a bit early.

Not happy, not happy at all.....

Going to have to be especially good and I plan, if I can get my lardy arse off the computer, to walk to the post office to post some parcels and then, a trip to the wool shop as a treat!

Florence hope your DD gets better soon and you are feeling back to normal.

Niecie · 25/11/2010 09:23

Should also have sad Tuesday was a good day too. I just don't get it!

Niecie · 25/11/2010 09:26

OH FGS - said not sad. I am sad at the general state of my waistline (and butt line and every other line) but I meant 'said'!!

Still, I do find myself with a steely determination now so not all bad. Smile

florencerusty · 25/11/2010 12:14

Oh I am loving steely determination! Me too :) Shame about the lb but I reckon they appear randomly sometimes!
DD now better and back at work. I am not quite right but now its something completely different! Don't like my new age at all lol

florencerusty · 25/11/2010 12:16

and perhaps most importantly what are you planning to knit Niecie?

How is everyone else?

Niecie · 25/11/2010 12:51

Are you a fellow knitter florence?

I had a big plan to knit some Christmas pressies this year. Having had 4 yrs of OU deadlines to do right up to Christmas, the whole present buying and crafting thing has been chaotic to say the least. This year I have time. Well, if I can get off MN that is!

I have made my MIL a cowl and am half way through a scarf for my SIL and some fingerless mittens for my mum. I got a free pattern from Ravelry for the mittens which asked a skein of DK, so I bought a 50g ball but I don't think it is going to be enough. They probably meant 100g. I have several colours for various different people so I am going to need extra for them too unless I find another pattern. I am debating whether to buy 2 balls and have enough left for a hat or something as I won't need much of the extra ball. Decisions, decisions! Nice ones though.Smile

Not gone yet, mind you. It has clouded over and isn't looking so nice for a bracing walk now!

florencerusty · 25/11/2010 15:20

I havent knitted since pregnant with the littly (she's 2 now) but long for the day when I can get the needles out again. I should spend my evenings at it really but get drawn into FB Blush

So lovely to be crafting gifts, I may yet rustle some up in the kitchen :)
It is bitter here, have ventured to the washing line and the chickens once or twice but trying not to make a habit of it!

Niecie · 25/11/2010 17:33

FB is the work of the devil.Grin

I spent much too much time on it when I should have been studying. Weirdly, since I finished studying it has lost some of its attraction and I find I am back into MNing....not that I have given up FB entirely! And they are just as bad as the other!

Why can't I find more active things to do? Why can't my passion be running or swimming or something? I wouldn't have to lose 5 stone then!! Smile

florencerusty · 25/11/2010 18:21

Ah I wonder just the same - why do I love fb when it would be so much better for me to love the gym, or even housework lol

solo · 25/11/2010 18:57

Oooh! I'm a knitter too and I sew!

Niecie, I found that I put on weight if I don't eat enough so it could have been that.

Are you all on the MN facebook? are we all friends on there? if we aren't, add me and id yourselves please. I'm Willow Grace and have a name blanket on my profile pic :)

solo · 25/11/2010 18:59

And did I tell you that I won a bloody great big Christmas cake at the bazaar last Saturday? Grin bloody diet!!!

florencerusty · 25/11/2010 19:38

I am and have just added you :)

Christmas cake ouchhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I had a new sewing machine this year after being without for about 10 years - have managed a few things but not as much as I'd hoped

Niecie · 25/11/2010 20:26

So does that mean sewing and knitting are bad for the waistline then!? I do sewing as well - patchwork and quilting if I get the chance. Not done any for ages. Last time was the beginning of 2009 when I did an evening class. Not that it has stopped me adding to my stash. Blush

Solo, I sent you a friends request. Love the blanket on your profile picture. Was it you that has a business making and selling those? I thought I had come across somebody on a MN craft thread who did that but can't remember who.

I like the idea of eating more by the way! I should also have drunk more water in the last few days - to keep things regular if I can put it like that without a TMI alert!! That can make a pound difference I find!

florencerusty · 25/11/2010 21:30

Niecie if you want to add me my email is the hotmail one based in the uk and my user name :)
Pic is me and hubby with DD

solo · 25/11/2010 22:53

No, not me Niecie...I do make them if asked to, but they take a lot of time and I find people don't want to pay the price.

solo · 26/11/2010 10:02

Friday morning weigh in...

14st 9lbs so I have lost a bit more :)

Anyone else?

florencerusty · 26/11/2010 10:07
