Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

Hadn't thought of that Solo. Excellent point.

I suppose it helps my batwing situation as well - lifting is very toning. Wink

solo · 13/11/2010 17:04

Seeeeeeeeeee!!! Grin

Niecie · 17/11/2010 11:42

Just posting to keep this on my list of threads I'm on.

Hope everybody is OK and doing well.

My week has been OK but I am out for the day on Friday and having lunch out. The choice is pasta or pizza and the portions will be huge so will have to try extra specially hard the rest of the time.

Will post on Friday with the weight but before lunch!!

solo · 17/11/2010 14:16

This thread is very slow. Is everyone ok or just :( and having a tough time of it? I am.

florencerusty · 17/11/2010 14:49

Oh dear is it bad Solo?
Must admit I had hoped it might be a busy thread since I need all the support I can get! lol

I'm ok - bit sick of having AF twice a month which isnt helping!

solo · 17/11/2010 14:59

I am just too cold to get into dieting florence, and yes, AF doesn't help even once a month so I don't envy you :(

I need to get my head round it all, get a grip and go for it. Again.

Niecie · 17/11/2010 19:31

I know exactly what you both mean. Made the mistake of going to Sainsbury's when I was starving. Ended up buying a small bagette. I have only eaten half so not appalling but still more than I should have done and with lots of butter too. It was cold and miserable out and the lovely fresh bread called to me and was impossible to resist. I love fresh bread and butter - I could never low carb!

2 AF in one month - bummer! I have a short cycle (23 days) and that is bad enough but anything shorter would be awful. I know they play havoc with the scales though!

Enough of this negativity!! Since it only seems to be the 3 of us shall we agree to post more often and give each other a boost, or shall we start another thread to see if we can get some more people to join in? Or shall we give up? What do you think?

florencerusty · 17/11/2010 20:21

as the newbie I am happy to go with whatever suits.
As long as its not giving up :)

Recently gone back on the minipill and seems to have sent my cycle haywire!

Sat here very peckish now and do have spare calories but its like having £50 to spend on yourself - you gotta make the best with it lol so trying to decide what to raid the kitchen for - have to say its a good job there is no fresh bread here tonight!

solo · 17/11/2010 21:38

Oooh! I'm a fresh bread fiend too!

We mustn't give up, no! well, I have to give up giving up! but I do comfort eat and I need comforting a lot. That or sex and I've had none of that for years, so food wins!

Niecie · 18/11/2010 00:28

Glad you guys don't want to give up. I don't either. I just wish it was easier!

I have a terrible case of the munchies this evening. I wonder if not eating until I was starving earlier in the day has played havoc with my blood sugars or something. I have no idea what I was talking about really but something has badly affected what little will power I have today.

The idea of Milky bars popped into my head earlier and now I really want white chocolate. Thankfully I don't have any. I am putting off making the sandwiches though - a brand new loaf of fresh bread needs to be sliced up.

Better get on with it now as it late, then I'll put today behind me and start afresh tomorrow.

PurpleTaipan · 18/11/2010 00:46

I need to join !

started a thread about getting tips but didnt get very far.

Im to scared to weigh myself Blush

But I am really serious about loosing weight now. Im totally miserable Sad
Hoping a thread with so many who are going through the same thing will help !

florencerusty · 18/11/2010 08:51

Well here we are then the day before weighing again
how is everyone?

Niecie · 18/11/2010 11:26

A bit bleurgh today actually Florence. Nothing in particular just not top form. Probably tired. Not very hungry at the moment but I will probably end up eating bad things later as a result.

Welcome PurpleTaipan. Please feel free to join in. We are feeling a bit sorry for ourselves at the moment so we could do with a new lease of life and some fresh faces. Being miserable should be a good motivator but only if it is your weigh that is making you miserable imo. I think you if are feeling out of sorts anyway, misery turns into comfort eating. Well for me anyway. We are all looking to you to stir us up and get us going again.....No pressure there then! WinkGrin

Seriously, do you have a plan for losing weigh or a goal?

florencerusty · 19/11/2010 08:55

Good morning and welcome Purple.

I think I am going to post daily even if I am just writing to myself lol.

Weigh day :) 2lb so now 12st 10lb am very pleased.

How is everyone?

Niecie · 19/11/2010 09:17

Oh very good Florence. Well done. Smile

I have, at last made a tiny bit of proper progress rather than just bobbing around the same weight as I have for the last 3 weeks - going up and down 0.5lb but not getting beyond 15st 11.5ish.

I was 15st 11.2lb last week and am now 15st 10.6lb so I am claiming 0.5lb. The lowest I have been for about 2.5 yrs at least maybe longer.

Don't think I am going to get below 15st before Christmas with only 5 weeks to go. Actually I would be happy to be 15st 5lb now, which is a round 2.5st less than I was in February. Need to do more than 0.5lbs so need to step up the exercise!

Right, off now to spoil it all by having a day of shopping and a massive bowl of pasta for lunch with some old college friends. We do this get together about once a year and it seems to have evolved into a shopping trip for Christmas. However, I have no idea what anybody wants yet so really I am on the look out for is a skirt for me that takes into account I am quite a bit lighter than I was at the end of last winter. Smile

Hope everybody has a good day/weekend.

florencerusty · 19/11/2010 09:24

Niecie that good :) - little steps are harder to fall off.
have a lovely day and make sure you get yourself something nice

solo · 19/11/2010 10:39

Yay! well done ladies!

My weigh in this morning was 14st 10.8lbs
so I'm quite pleased as all I've done is slightly smaller portions and ignore the late night hunger pangs Grin

solo · 19/11/2010 10:41

I should've said that at the beginning of the week I was 15st 1.8lbs, so a real loss for me this week!

PurpleTaipan · 19/11/2010 12:18

Havent started any diet...yet.

It is my birthday tomorrow so I am going to start on monday.

I am going to weigh myself on sunday ( first time in about 18mths ) Blush

Its really motivating reading how much people have lost, well done everybody.

Oh and even 0.5lb is better than gaining, so well done you ! Smile

solo · 20/11/2010 15:17

Happy Birthday PurpleTaipan!!! :) hope you are having a lovely day!

Niecie · 20/11/2010 16:06

Happy Birthday Purpletaipan. Enjoy your day!Smile

How is everybody doing?

solo · 20/11/2010 17:24

Christmas bazaar today and homemade cakes Blush that were scrummy...not good eh?

florencerusty · 21/11/2010 16:07

Arghhhhhhhh

kids birthday party yesterday so picked a bit and then out for a meal for my birthday last night - wasted calories on a pudding that would have been much better if I'd made it myself!
Feeling poorly today and also miffed for having possibly undone some of my efforts :(

Belated wishes Taipan :)

Niecie · 21/11/2010 19:37

A weekend for birthdays! Happy Birthday Florence! Sorry you aren't feeling well today though.

We went out yesterday evening to play skittles and had things we shouldn't have - chips!! Was OK - we don't get out much despite the fact that I was out on Friday, DH was out all day yesterday and then out in the evening with me and then I am out again for dinner on Wednesday. A whole year's worth of a social life in the space of a week. Not good for the waist line. I shall have to do better the rest of the time although as it is getting colder I don't hold out much hope!

florencerusty · 21/11/2010 19:56

My November is very social too, I barely go out the rest of the year!

Skittles huh? You must be my end of the world then
