Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

I'm hungry!!!!!!!!

ShinySoloSparklySolo · 05/11/2010 09:44

My start weight on Wednesday was 15st 3/4lb. This morning I'm 14st 12lbs Grin

Still hungry though.

Claire527 · 05/11/2010 12:15

Hi Solo, I am just about to go to the chippy!!! Steak pudding, chips and gravy!!!It didn't take me long to give in! Blush

Niecie · 05/11/2010 13:07

Yay, go Solo!! Told you it would be a good week in the end!

Spent yesterday traisping around the new forest with a bunch of 10 yr olds and had been very good until I collapsed on the sofa in the evening and had toffee popcorn.

So, all hard work spoilt. Blush

As a result no loss again although it might be down to the time of the month more than what I am eating. Hmm

Being under 15st by Christmas looks increasing unlikely. Sad

ShinySoloSparklySolo · 05/11/2010 14:21

Claire527!!! you are mean. Making me hungry! You will think of me eating tuna and spinach salad for lunch with every mouthful you take!

Thanks Niecie! Grin don't you go giving up though. You can do it, you know you can.

florencerusty · 05/11/2010 19:22

Solo - yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :) really pleased.

Scales today say 13st. So I think thats a lb this week again

ShinySoloSparklySolo · 06/11/2010 11:46

14st 9 1/4lbs

It's coming off! but I'm suffering a bit in the toilet department with the sudden large amounts of fruit and veg. Had a fabulous prawn stir fry last night :)

ShinySoloSparklySolo · 06/11/2010 11:47

And florence, a lb is a lb so well done you!

Niecie · 09/11/2010 11:30

How's everybody doing this week then? I had a bad couple of days (but one good one) since last Friday. I seem to feel the need to hoover up all the left overs that nobody else has bothered with and none of seems to be good for the hips. Hmm

So far so good today. Was going to go for a walk to the post office later but the weather is so grim that I can't face it. Will have to be more vigourous in my cleaning instead.

florencerusty · 09/11/2010 13:36

My resolve is atrong but am feeling like I have mush for brains after some awful news. Not sure today will be good :(

solo · 09/11/2010 22:30

I've had a crap 3 days and I go to the nurse for weighing tomorrow :( what's more, she gave me a sheet to write a food diary out on and I haven't remembered to do a single day in two weeks!

Niecie · 10/11/2010 09:05

Florence - Sorry to hear you have had some bad news. I hope you are OK.

Solo - Hope your weigh-in goes well. Don't worry about the diet sheet - just tell the nurse the dog ate my homework you left it at home. Don't be made to feel bad bout it.Smile

Has anybody seen Giraffes anywhere recently? I saw her on a thread about a week ago asking for advice on whether to go to the doctors because she was having palpitations and problems with her heart and everybody was telling her to go to A&E which she was resisting. Hope she is OK.

solo · 10/11/2010 13:04

I haven't seen giraffes, no. Hope she's Ok.

How are you Florence?

I'll be off in a few minutes to get weighed...

solo · 10/11/2010 13:11

Ok, just ha a search under giraffes Halloween name and she last posted on Nov 4th which is several days after the heart thing and on totally unrelated threads. Don't know if she's changed her name back since though. I reckon she's fallen off the dieting wagon and won't confess to us. That's what I'm hoping anyway.

Niecie · 10/11/2010 13:29

Yes I hope so too, falling off the wagon that is.

Good luck at the nurse - hope she confirms what your scales are telling you - don't forget to take your shoes off before your step on though! Smile

florencerusty · 10/11/2010 21:45

Thanks for the thoughts. A friend died suddenly, but suddenly after 30+ years of a disease :( Still pretty bleughhhhh but today is a little better.
Have been very good with the calorie counting though - seems my determination is much stronger than I realised.

Solo how how was the weigh in?

How are we all doing? desperately hoping that this week I am under 12 stone

solo · 10/11/2010 22:54

Don't ask!!! gained weight since two weeks ago, but lost 2cm's from my waist Hmm.

Have to get into the zone again.

solo · 10/11/2010 22:56

Meant to say that I'm sorry about your friend florence, really sorry :(

Niecie · 11/11/2010 22:44

florence - really sorry to hear about your friend. Hope you are OK and being kind to yourself.

Niecie · 11/11/2010 22:50

Solo - Oh dear. Bloody scales - they do your head in don't they? Good news about the waist measurement though. Have you been walking? Is there any chance you weigh more because of muscle gain to replace some of the fat?

If we were taking the cup half full approach we could say that losing inches is better than losing weight. It is your proportions and hip to waist ratio and all that sort of thing that matter not how much they weigh.

But onwards and upwards - we'll get there in the end although the weather isn't helping is it? Tonight seemed right for a lasagne - we needed something warm and comforting. At least I didn't have seconds!

solo · 11/11/2010 23:16

No, no proper walking. Too wet, too cold and too much of a grumpy Dd!!! and I'm bloody tired out too.

I shall start again soon. I'm just :( about it right now.

Catch up soon.

florencerusty · 12/11/2010 08:39

Oh Solo, we'll make it.

Niecie - I'd love a lasagne :(

The scales today imply a loss of either 1 or 2 lb. I'd like some new digi ones but what if they say I weigh loads more than these do?

Niecie · 12/11/2010 10:54

Well done Florence! You must be our most consistent loser.Smile

I don't know that digital scales will necessarily make you weigh more. My weight went done a tiny bit when we got our digital ones a while a go. Depends how accurate you think your non-digital ones are. We bought new ones because the needle on the old ones had faded so much we could barely see it but they were also really sensitive and the slightest movement could change the reading. You don't get that with digital ones so much.

Having said that, I did the 'moving the scales around the floor' thing this morning and have no idea what the correct reading is. Anything between 15st 12lb (which is up 0.5lb) or 15st 8.5 (which is 3lb down). Most of the time it hovered around 15st 11lb so I am going to go with 0.5lb loss.

I really need to stop moving the scales, chose a spot to use every day and stick to that instead of tormenting myself with averages!! Blush

The lasagne was nice but the trade off was that I hardly ate anything all day to make sure I stayed within my calorie allowance and it was hard and probably not the best way of going about things!

florencerusty · 12/11/2010 11:39

Thanks. My resolve is iron clad 5 days a week and even though mentally I accept that weekends will be a bit less countable I am still not eating all the junk I had been.
Just a bit of a dog with a bone perhaps.

One of my daughters has digi scales perhaps I'll stand on them and see if I like the result before deciding lol.
Ours do alter depending where they are in the room but only by 1lb at the most so tend to always use them in the same spot and so whatever the actual reading is, as long as its less than the week before I have to be happy lol

Might see if one of the old ww books has a lasagne recipe in :)

solo · 13/11/2010 12:51

Niecie, the scales would get fat if you stopped moving them around; it's their exercise regime you see Wink and mine expect it! Grin
