Am going to stop eating crap and lose 4 stone. Want to help me stay on the straight and narrow?

That's it really. Need to lose 4 stone, have failed at every diet I've tried so am going back to basics - 3 low fat meals, 2 healthy snacks, 2 litres of water, more exercise.

I have to do it - on a serious note, have two gorgeous DCs and I want to be fit for them - this weight is not good for me and I know that I'm putting myself at risk of heart trouble, diabetes etc etc - and what's more, I want to wear a size 12 again - instead of size 20 for fuck's sake.

Have failed on all the summer weight loss threads so am hoping that starting my own will spur me on! So anyone with me? Or just want to come and shout at me when I want a chunky kit kat?

I want to Join too, have 6week old baby and want to loose the baby weight only read the first page, But I'd like to join too :-)

solo · 11/10/2010 23:58

Aw! Principle! welcome to you, but don't you reckon you should give yourself a bedding in time after having your baby? Congratulations by the way!! :) Maybe just do some sensible eating rather than dieting? but stay with us on this thread and we'll encourage you anyway!

Still unwell here, but getting on with it! no dieting going on here, but it will come!

Principle · 12/10/2010 09:17

thanks solo, its more back to my normal healthy diet instead of induldging in chocs and naughties lol

dotty2 · 12/10/2010 13:00

Principle - don't be too hard on yourself! 6 weeks is very early days. Am sure you're still allowed chocolate - just in moderation, not as main source of nutrition, as I did...

Haven't checked in of late but just wanted to say hi everyone - keep up good work. This is really a shameless opportunity for me to celebrate having managed to get under 13st for the first time in at least 6 years (pre-children). Was very pleased to see the scales saying 12st13 this am! Have had sensible cottage cheese lunch and now on to the next milestone. Maybe see if I can get down to 12st by the end of January? Slow and steady does it. (Ultimate target weight 11st 7lbs for now - am 5'8.5'', though that would still not make me sylph-like)

Sugarmuppet · 12/10/2010 13:07

Can I come in??

Weighed 12.5 stone pre pregnancy.
Weighed 10 stone mid pregnancy. (Shitty morning sickness)
Weighed 11 stone day 1 after having DD.
NOW WEIGH 13 fecking stone, DD is 8 months.

Need to do something.

Started yesterday, had yoghurt for brekkie, salad roll for lunch and pasta for dinner. No crap in between. No idea if that is good or not??? But must be better than usual 4 bars of choc and packets of crisps?

In my defence I pretty much didn't eat when I was pregnant and now everything tastes SO good!

florencerusty · 12/10/2010 19:29

Well I have been almost saintly for 3 days now and counting every morsel. Going to measure tonight and create a graph so hopefully a Friday weigh in here and a Tuesday Measure In might keep me motivated. Mind you food focus seems to want me to eat loads!

dotty2 · 12/10/2010 19:34

Sugar muppet - hello. That sounds like probably not quite enough to keep you going, and also maybe a bit heavy on the carbs/low on protein. If you feel OK, though, go for it, I guess. What would you like to weigh eventually?

solo · 14/10/2010 14:05

Helloooooo!!!

going · 14/10/2010 14:27

I haven't posted on this thread for a while!

Have lost 13 lbs in the last four weeks and feeling pretty pleased with myself. AM going on holiday next week so am sure some will creep back on but will hopefully lose as fast as I gain so I don't end up at square one.

florencerusty SOrry to hear you have had such a rubbish time. Calorie counting is the cheapest way to do it, agree with Niecie re food focus. I use an app on my mobile, think it's called brio calorie counter. May be speaking to your gp may be a good idea, I found it really useful to offical tell her I needed help and tomorow I go for my first weigh in.

florencerusty · 14/10/2010 15:29

thank you going and well done! You should feel pleased :)
I am calorie counting and using food focus - so far so good but it's only day 5 lol

mamadiva · 15/10/2010 10:01

Solo- Hope your finally feeling better!

Going- Well done on your weight loss so far :o

Florence- Hello to you :o Sounds like you've had a rough few years but glad you're back on track now :) I know what you mean about DP, sometimes I feel the same, DP denies it bothers him but surely it must! Main thing is though you have to do it mainly for yourself or you won't do it.

Sugar- Welcome and don't worry you are a waif compared to me :o

Principle- Congrats on baby, can I ask how you are feeding baby? Just obviously if your BF you need to eat extra calories for that AFAIK. Sorry to be nosey but just incase you were'nt aware. (Not being patronising twas just I was informed of this by a doc years ago.

mamadiva · 15/10/2010 10:04

Oh and forgot to add a 1lb off for me :o, I am going to try actually doing weight watchers diet this week and counting points lol see if I lose more.

SoloBlackWidowSpidersWebSite · 16/10/2010 00:24

Drum roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have bought scales! will not weigh in until tomorrow morning, or maybe even Sunday. I need to sort myself out.

At ease! Grin

Niecie · 16/10/2010 16:24

Hello, hello. Didn't post yesterday because I didn't like the look of what the scales were showing me. Blush

Had a bit of an up and down weekend probably due to it being that time of the month that plays havoc with my sugar cravings. I have also noticed my stomach looks bigger which is not good.

Anyway, yesterday I had no loss and maybe even a slight 1/2lb gain. However, I had lost during the week and hadn't been that bad on Wednesday and Thursday so decided to ignore it and now, today, I am back down to what I was at the beginning of the week so I am going with that. If it goes back up for most of next week, I know I have been deluding myself but hopefully it will stay down.

Mamadiva 17.4 1/2 -1 Total loss 5lbs
Florencerusty 13.4 -10 (!!!!) Total loss 10lb
Niecie 15.11 1/2 -1lb Total loss 6.5lbs

Solo - congratulations on your scales. I hope you are pleasantly surprised when you get on them!

Well done to everybody who has lost something this week.

SoloBlackWidowSpidersWebSite · 17/10/2010 00:01

3lb GAINED :( thought my jeans felt even tighter yesterday.

SoloBlackWidowSpidersWebSite · 17/10/2010 13:18

Another 1.5lbs on since yesterday...can I blame by period?

Niecie · 17/10/2010 13:41

I would. I did hence posting my weight a day later than normal.

It does make a difference. And unless you have been on a mega fried food and chocolate binge since yesterday you would have to be pushing it to have put on a real lb in a day.

Do you take more than one reading when you are doing a weigh in and move the scales around to different points on the floor? I do. The best reading is just by the bathroom door. Worst is usually underneath the towel rail where the scales live. I tend to take an average of what it says in the middle of the room. Smile

florencerusty · 17/10/2010 15:42

Absolutely Solo.
WW always refered to it as a * week and expected at least not to lose

Loving moving the scales too!

SoloBlackWidowSpidersWebSite · 17/10/2010 21:22

LOL! I move the scales too. These ones are electronic; never had those before!

giraffesCantDookForApples · 17/10/2010 23:30

Hello, am back. Been unwell and just eating any old crap. Was in hsop with chest infection and heart prob. :( Still got a cough and sore muscles from coughing so much but no excuse to eat junk anymore! How are you all? Will read up!

giraffesCantDookForApples · 18/10/2010 07:03

mmm nothing quite like that first morning cuppa Grin

Niecie · 18/10/2010 11:26

Morning!

Giraffes - sorry to hear you have been so unwell. Sounds nasty if you were hospitalized. I had a chest infection/pneumonia back in May and it killed my appetite completely - I lived on toast and crisps for at least a week. Blush Thankfully though it was a crap diet at least I didn't eat much of it.

Hope you feel better soon. It took me about 3 weeks to get better(plus the 3 weeks before I got really ill when it was just a horrible cough) - it certainly drags on but I hope you are coming to the end of it and your heart is better too. That sounds scary! Sad

Solo and florence - glad I am not alone in moving the scales. I know it is slightly sad but I can't accept the first reading anymore. Mine are electronic too but not as bad as the old fashioned ones we had where leaning to one side could make you weight fluctuate by as much as 1/2 stone!!
