So today is D day! Diet starts today, I have my first slimming world class tonight and i am feeling quite motivated. I think I probably have around 3 stones to lose, but i would be happy to even lose 2. I just feel fat and unhealthy and have never been this big before!

So today is day 1 of sorting myself out! Just wondered if anyone else was starting today too, not just slimming world, but any thing, and wanted to have somewhere to chat, swap ideas, or get some moral support?

Hurray Lulu and Elizabeth, great losses!!!! I woul jump up and down enthusastically but you'll have to make do with a hobble, I've been digging and weeding for a good couple of hours.

Hi Keziah, fingers crossed for you for Friday. I read on the er other forum about someone who ate loads of fish for a week having been stuck for a few weeks and she lost 8lbs that week. Don't think I could face that much fish though.

Someone brought the chocolate chip cookies and the muffins from the magazine to group. Didn't try any but they looked lovely.

I didn't know there was such a thing as a diet Twix . Hate it when things that seem innocent turn out to be full of syns, it is such a waste.

Anyone know a SW friendly recipe for a pumpkin? It's not the world's largest and I must cook it soon. I'll resort to soup if I have to but would like something different. Oh and any ideas for 8 marrows would be welcome or they will be outside with a help yourself sign soon.

ditavonteesed · 21/09/2010 07:34

oh if anyone does I love pumpikin soup om nom nom.
well done on the losses thats fantastic.

Lulumaam · 21/09/2010 08:50

no idea re pumpkin.. you could do a risotto with it and some butternut squash? made pumpkin soup once, it went straight in the bin, was a disaster

well done on your 1.5 off EW after a horrible week

one of the girls from our group made syn free crisps..

jacket potato ,peeled, sliced thinly, spritz with fry light, put on tray spritzed with fry light, use garlic or regular salt and put in medium oven until golden!! going to try those i think

Lulumaam · 21/09/2010 09:06

i tried some scan bran today

not bad at all ! you can hvae 5 for a healthy extra a on EE.

had 3 with quark and smoked salmon and lemon juice

going to have the other two later, when i feel a bit nibbly.

got a syn free beef casserole in the slow cooker for later too

dizzytrout · 21/09/2010 10:49

ditavonteesed · 21/09/2010 10:59

dizzytrout · 21/09/2010 11:28

Oh my god that was so rude of her Shock

I would feel like buring HER face in a cake!

Don't let a thoughtless comment like that put you off, you're doing great x

Lulumaam · 21/09/2010 12:47

ditavonteesed · 21/09/2010 13:44

sounds gorgeous, think I am going to go and join slimming owrld, it is tommorow night, you guys all seem to be doing so much better than me anyway and I can feel my willpower disappearing today. Sad

Lulumaam · 21/09/2010 14:07

it is worth it, if only to get the books and see how much you can eat and it is not restrictive at at all..

i will be having dahl & rice for supper, all free and then a small measure of wine and soda and a crunchie ! so no starving or denial of foods required

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 21/09/2010 18:03

Dita, how horrible Sad try not to let it get you so down you over do the cake, that makes it feel worse.

I know this because I have eaten 33 syns today

moocowmrs · 21/09/2010 19:49

very chuffed with myself today 3.5 off so 6 in two weeks feel very happy with myself, things already feel a little more comfy to wear !! yippee !!

findingtheRialme · 21/09/2010 20:05

well done on all the fab lossesSmile

she probably felt very stupid Dita. don't take it to heart.

also disappears quickly having consumed too much and intending to have moreBlush

ElizabethWakefield · 21/09/2010 20:51

Dita, how horrible, but don't let it get to you!

Well done on all the losses! It is nice to start feeling things get a little looser!

I have been good today so far, just about to write everything down, in my food diary.

I was tempted to have something nice after dinner, but almost as soon as I had finished 2 police officers turned up at my door as a man has been murdered in his flat around the corner from me! Shock I was questioned for ages, including how i remove my body hair?! and then I forgot all about eating!!

OP posts:
DontCallMeBaby · 21/09/2010 21:20

How you remove your body hair?! Was he beaten to death with a can of Immac or something? How weird.

I've lost 2.5lb this week, and am somehow slimmer of the week ... I could have sworn at least one (non-first week) person lost more, but apparently not. Blush I am the proud winner of a sticker, certificate and bag of random foods. Including two tins of baked beans, which I pointed out were a very effective diet food for me, as I'm allergic to them, in an emetic fashion ... DD and DH like them though.

Class night is also my night off exercising - I've done between 25 and 40 minutes of Wii Fit five nights this week, plus my swimming class. Clothes don't seem any looser, but I think my muffin-top is in retreat.

ElizabethWakefield · 21/09/2010 21:26

Excellent well done!! And slimmer of the week too!! Great! Grin

Lol at the can of immac, I have no idea, they also took great interest in my eyebrows and wanted to know if they were plucked (yes) and dyed (no).

You are doing great with all your exercising, I keep saying that i am going to exercise more but I haven't actually got round to doing anything, never mind more!!

upsydaisysexstylist · 21/09/2010 22:21

Well done don't call me baby. I also got slimmer of the week and now have a mountain of fruit which my oldest ds is helping with. And some random items. Have my stone sticker as lost 41/2 lb this week. On line progress thingymy seems to think I will always lose at this rate and is preticting target by feb, I reckon a year to year and a half.

upsydaisysexstylist · 21/09/2010 22:26

Dita do join my group is dead friendly and if I didn't have a 12wk old I would be joining in the salsa group that about 5 members have started going to. Good for exercise motivation, I've arranged pushchair walks with another mum once her oldest settled in school.

EW I'm doing the bady magic thing and found myself walking much faster when possible so I can record it as moderate exercise in the FIT log.

DontCallMeBaby · 21/09/2010 22:40

The online progress thing is mad! I can't see quite what it's done, but it still seems to have me losing unfeasible amounts by Christmas.

Meanwhile, my Wii Fit is getting worried about how much weight I've lost. Bless its little, erm, batteries.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 21/09/2010 22:55

Two Slimmers of the week, that's really good. I'm never going to get it in my group as there's a guy whose lost vast quantities in a short space of time and someone else who has lost a pound off 4 stone in about 16 weeks. Mind you I wouldn't want my marrow back again, it was heavy enough taking it there last week. It weighed 4.5lbs so what Upsydaisy lost in a week.

Elizabeth, what a weird experience being questioned about your body hair. Did they show you their warrant cards and everything ? Makes a change from cleaning your teeth as a food distraction !

I am going to be very virtuous tomorrow as it's my last day before weigh in, Saintly Wednesday as it is known in group.

Keziahhopes · 21/09/2010 23:32

There are some great losses this week Grin

Thanks Wynken, mm - that is a lot of fish! Might need to try it as BMI up to 28.6 Sad as I put on 1lb this week. And I did pilates and ate better than last 2 weeks... have sort of got stuck after losing 1stone.

Some good ideas for meals here.

Pumpkin - I make pumpkin curry, with ginger juice (peal, grate and then squeeze raw ginger) and coconut - my recipe says use the block of coconut milk (the solid one) and add it in, and it melts to make it creamy. Any use?

ditavonteesed · 22/09/2010 07:47

Ok I have joined a group, I have however gone to the other side, the group was nearer. can I stay or do I need to go somewhere to talk about points? Actually seemed really good, the principle is the same, lots of filling stuff and watching what you eat of the naughty things. Because it was in the evening and I was not in pj's I weighed more than I was expecting, I was Shock. than ks for all the kind words yresterday, may however have been the final push I needed.

upsydaisysexstylist · 22/09/2010 09:11

I only picked sw over the other side because the timing of the meeting means my oh gets to make tea and do bedtime for our toddler while I sit down with a coffee someone else has made whilst baby is admired!

However think I would spent my extra breastfeeding points on chocolate whereas I get 4 more healthy extras on sw. Stay please, you need to find out why the police questioned EW in such a bizzare way. I once had my cellar checked for fireworks by police after a bomb scare though

ditavonteesed · 22/09/2010 09:18

wondered if he was mnurdered by a lady with really bushy eyebrows and they are checking every woman to see if they recently plucked .
