So today is D day! Diet starts today, I have my first slimming world class tonight and i am feeling quite motivated. I think I probably have around 3 stones to lose, but i would be happy to even lose 2. I just feel fat and unhealthy and have never been this big before!

So today is day 1 of sorting myself out! Just wondered if anyone else was starting today too, not just slimming world, but any thing, and wanted to have somewhere to chat, swap ideas, or get some moral support?

Stay Dita, I counted points when I was on holiday and might do the same at Christmas/when I'm bored, whichever is first.

I've put on another pound according to the Wii this morning, that's two in two days. So no chance of a loss tomorrow, oh well.

ditavonteesed · 22/09/2010 09:30

I was shocked that I was 4lbs heavier than on the wii (then I remembered that I always put heavy clothes even though I am in my pj's). just had the nicest breakfast, quorn rasher cut up really small, dry fried with tons of mushrooms and a tin of beans. Trying hard not to work out how many calories that was as thats what I am i used to doing was only 3.5 points though. for lunch I am doing that tuna potato filling that one of you guys mentioned, red onion and low fat salad cream.

dizzytrout · 22/09/2010 10:17

Weigh in last night and only lost 1lb :(

Very disappointed, I thought I'd get at least 3 off after a 13 mile half marathon!!!

I'm going to eat more quorn and less savoury rice (I have it every day for lunch!!)

:)

findingtheRialme · 22/09/2010 11:09

morning all. am very Envy of losses, but I only have myself to blame!
we had to go to hospital yesterday (DH has an ongoing problem which has been at the "make or break" stage so many times, he had the last op in May, and the consultant was certain he had sorted it once and for all... now he doesn't know what the problem isSad is v. frustrating), we have to travel from a rural area to the city (proper bumpkinsWink) and because we were there DH suggested burger kingShock my favouriteBlush, also we went to Asda (I know that is bizarre as a "treat") so bought other things... and no chick pea dahl!

Have a stinking cold today, and have cancelled all plans to do more painting in the boys room, just want to eat toast.

Am considering a cross over to the other side too. I lost nearly a stone and a half on that plan earlier in the year, and got to have crumpets and tea for my supper...

blimey EW, I would have been terrified. I feel guilty every time I see a policeman! the couple of times they've called at out house (usually about random abandoned cars) I've bearly been physically illBlush Think I watch too much Midsomer Murders thoughWink

ditavonteesed · 22/09/2010 11:40

how long did it take you to lose a stone and a half? all the losses at the class seemed really impressive. was only a small calss as well. think I will behave better if I am paying out £5 a week.

DontCallMeBaby · 22/09/2010 16:01

dita I half wonder if the slimming groups calibrate their scales just a little high to shock you into coming back after your first weigh-in ... ;)

I am 12 stone 1/2lb according to the SW scales, 11 stone 13lb on the Wii, and 11 stone 9lb in the bathroom. Admittedly, I am dressed except for shoes in class (of course!) and nekkid in the bathroom, but I find it hard to believe jeans, t-shirt and undies weigh 5.5lb.

Lulumaam · 22/09/2010 19:59

oooh, dita i suggested the tuna.red onion combo , it's delish ! i am having it tomorrow for lunch but mixed with baked rice instead

today i had

5 a xcan bran with quark and smoked salmon & lemon juice... 3 for brekky, and 2 mid morning.. using healthy ex B .. rest free

lunch was large slice onion & potato fritatta, also free. fried with fry light

had fruit too

dinner was quorn syn free sausage casserole with baked rice and or my syns i've had a choccy biscuit and wine and sugar in my tea this morning..

am feeling peckish, but i think it is boredom

findingtheRialme · 22/09/2010 20:31

it was over 2/3 months I think dita, am not sure. goes back on a hell of a lot quickerSad

done another shop, will try againHmm

ditavonteesed · 23/09/2010 07:37

lulu isn't it gorgeous, and I mnade twice as much so I have it for today as well. yum.
dcmb, I definatley haven't changed on the wii so you may well be right, think it might be to do with being at the end if the day.
rialme, I know what y6ou mean about it goign on, it takes me a week to lose 2 lbs but I could easily put it on overnight (if it was a good one).
ew did we ever find out why about the body hair thing? bet your still really freaked oyut.

AngryPixie · 23/09/2010 10:27

Weigh in today 2.5lbs so 8lbs in 2 weeks. I was pleased because I did drink many beers last Friday night but I have been really good for the rest of the week and am getting to the gym 3-4x a week.

I'm love to have lost 1.5 stone by christmas.

Think I might be making tuna & red onion today too, sounds scrummy,

Good luck everyone.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 23/09/2010 11:52

1.5lb gain for me today which is flipping annoying but that's life I guess. My ring won't come off and I feel really bloated. With the exception of my 35syn day I did stick to it and my syns for the week were 104.

So I'm putting it behind me and taking solace in Roast chicken and Mikados later.

DontCallMeBaby · 23/09/2010 15:38

I've had an okay food day, and a rather innovative exercise day - 20 minutes' walk before work, preceded by pushing a small Fiat off a roundabout. Long story ...

ElizabethWakefield · 23/09/2010 15:57

Afternoon, school holidays here (today, tomorrow and Monday) so have a few things planned, so will try to stick to healthy eating as much as possible!

Went out shopping today with DD and had a baked potato for lunch, so far so good! But I think the next few days will be a challenge!

Haven't heard anything else from the police, although everyone has commented that the body hair questions were really odd. DP goes to a quiz with a guy who is a police officer and he told DP that he has never ever know for such questions to be asked, and if there was body hair evidence at the scene they wouldn't just mention it so casually to people, as it would be evidence, so who knows? A small part of me is slightly concerned that they weren't actual police, but not enough to actually phone the local station and find out!!

Lulumaam · 23/09/2010 16:14

how strange !

wynken. it's still a loss, isn't it?

right, i can't find the answer on the SW website, does anyone know if 'hearts of palm' are free food.. they are a vegetable, canned in brine.. so am presuming are free.. but can't find them listed.. hope so, as i just ate two !

upsydaisysexstylist · 23/09/2010 19:15

Question, have synned the cider from a casserole, but if you burn off the alcohol is it still as many syns. Worth it pork lentil and apple casserole cooked in cider by OH!

moocowmrs · 23/09/2010 20:27

Maybe it would be just the same as apple juice then, is that alot less syns !

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 24/09/2010 08:17

Dontcallmebaby, what happened with the Fiat?!

Not sure about the cider, I would still stick with the synscrather than do it as apple juice. I just feel given how they are with the whole fruit thing there's some reason why it would be cider syns.

Lulumaam, don't know about the hearts of palms, sorry. I would have been delighted with 1.5 loss, it was 1.5lbs back on my backside and my total loss back to 15lbs rather than 16.5lbs. And, my nice row of minuses has a plus in it. Oh well, hopefully I'll have a few pounds off next week to compensate.

ditavonteesed · 24/09/2010 09:00

wynken, you hormonal or something, that can make a big difference. still over a stone so all good really. dh taking me to out for lunch as he has day off, though yo sushi would be a good bet, sushi is pretty much ok isn't it. am trying not to count my weigh in's on the wii and just wait for next week.

findingtheRialme · 24/09/2010 10:07

morning all. My unfortunate bout of poorliness of stomach yesterday has lost me 1.5lbs, so I am back to a stone lighter than my heaviest. Now have the rest to get rid of. Don't much feel like eating today, but am trying to get some SW food down, rather than toast and more toast... DS2 has requested leek and potato soup for tea.

Am trying to motivate myself with the thought that it is 13 weeks to 24th Dec from today...Hmm

AngryPixie · 24/09/2010 12:39

Fell off the bloody wagon today, making a b'day cake for dh with dd1. I licked the bowl (copiously) ate several a shed load of aero balls meant for decoration, and had a few spoons of nutella straight from the jar. (we were using it in place of frosting) and I bet I'll have a small slice of the cake too. Blush

All please point & call me lard arse to get me back on track!

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 24/09/2010 12:39

Sorry you're ill Finding Sad Hope you feel better very soon.

I am right in the middle of my cycle Dita. Have had a look at my book though and have found that once every 4 weeks exactly I have a weird week. First time I stayed the same, second I lost half then this time I've put on 1.5. So I think I do have hormone issues (sure my family would agree Grin), just not when I expected to. As long as it comes off plus more next week then I guess it's fine, just annoying as I really want to be at 35lbs off by Xmas. Sushi is good, nice and low in syns.

Have been at a friend's this morning and she's decided to join though after seeing it works for me, so that is good. We're both pretty top heavy and don't tend to shrink up there so much when thinner so have decided we're going to be the thin busty ones in the playground next summer.

findingtheRialme · 24/09/2010 14:14

I have made myself a progress graph (though I can't work out how to do it in negative numbers ) and printed 14 weeks worth of food diaries. Am sure I'll still find an excuse to be rubbish thoughHmm

DontCallMeBaby · 24/09/2010 16:00

Wynken - my car had to go into the garage, so I'd arranged with the garage to give me a lift to work. I hopped into the car, only for the chap to say 'they've given me a car with stupidly little petrol in, I'll be able to drop you off but it'll probably break down on the way back - if that traffic's okay'. Readers - it was 9am. The traffic was NOT okay. It ran out of petrol on a busy roundabout; he put the hazards on and was going to leave it, but I said 'can't we push it, it's only tiny ...' and off we went. Then I had to walk the rest of the way to work - fortunately, I only rarely go to work in pencil skirt and high heels, and yesterday was not one of those rare occasions.

Then they didn't realise I needed a lift back to the garage in order to collect the car and go home to collect DD from school, so that got complicated ... made it in the end, only to have DD emerge in tears as she'd already been told she was going home with her friend and did NOT want to go home with me. [hm]

On eating front ... found out today my colleague is also doing SW. I'm going out for a curry tonight, so meant to be really good today, but was sabotaged by our American colleagues putting on a charity bake sale. Honestly ... when we Brits do a bake sale it's, at best, 50/50 home made and Mr Kipling's best, the Americans, they do it PROPERLY. Wall-to-wall muffins, brownies and cookies, even apple pie, and all within sight of my desk. ONE cookie. I had ONE COOKIE.

ElizabethWakefield · 24/09/2010 16:16

Hope you are feeling better today Wynken Sad

Have been quite good today, went to a big soft play place this morning, with DD, and friends and their DC. I decided not to have lunch, as there was nothing even remotely like anything I would be allowed on the menu. Although while helping my friends DS eat his macaroni cheese, I did eat a couple of tubes, and I also picked the coating off a chicken nugget and eat that too Blush but i think that might not count....

Out for dinner tonight for a friend's birthday, so will try to pick the best thing I can on the menu, but as I haven't used any syns yet today then I should hopefully be fine Grin

Right, thank you all, tantrum is over and line firmly drawn.

Rial that is very productive, charts are good. I was reading about someone who drew a Christmas tree with 14 baubles then coloured in the baubles when they lost a pound. I think I might make one then stick it somewhere no one can see it and decorate my tree tastefully, which will make up for the devestation to my RL tree that is bound to happen with our dog who will be 18 months at Christmas.

Dontcallme, what a nightmare day. On the plus side surely pushing a Fiat cancels out one (highly impressed about the one) cookie?! Have a lovely time tonight.

Elizabeth, I would have struggled with Macaroni cheese and more than two tubes would have disappeared. Hope you also have a lovely night tonight.

I've got lunch out tomorrow which is my main challenge this weekend. It's my Mum's birthday and I just know she'll want me to have cake do she does 't feel guilty about it. Not going to, I want syns for tomorrow evening .
