So today is D day! Diet starts today, I have my first slimming world class tonight and i am feeling quite motivated. I think I probably have around 3 stones to lose, but i would be happy to even lose 2. I just feel fat and unhealthy and have never been this big before!

So today is day 1 of sorting myself out! Just wondered if anyone else was starting today too, not just slimming world, but any thing, and wanted to have somewhere to chat, swap ideas, or get some moral support?

Now confused, but happy have lost 3lb this week, when had a couple of bad days. Must be the scan bran or feeding the baby giant. He is not 16 weeks yet and already in 6-9mnth clothes.

Keziahhopes · 12/10/2010 22:25

Hi - just caught up will all recent posts - great to see more losses. Got weighed tonight, first reasonable lost for a while, 1.5lbs, as had tough Sept and didn't lose at all.

Am 5ft 5lbs and started SW at 13st 5lbs (my heaviest was just a bit more than that) and am now 2lbs off my Club 10 Target. Would like to ideally be pregnant so not any slimmer for that reason (start ICSI a week today) - had to lose weight to get BMI down! And have, but if it doesn't work will keep slimming and would like to get into a size 12 sensibly again - not sure what weight, about 10st 10lbs maybe?

Upsydaisy - wow, hungry feeder!

ditavonteesed · 13/10/2010 07:51

upsy daisy wow that is one big baby, bet he is so cute.
he is just literally taking your weight.
well I lost 2lb's which is amazing considering the weekend I had.
Keziah, really good luck with everything.

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 13/10/2010 08:22

Rial and Dontcallme, hope you both feel better very soon.

Keziah, well done on the loss and my fingers are firmly crossed for you.

Upsy and Dita, great losses, well done !

Lulumaam, what about aiming for 10 syns and giving that a go? Is it around your TOTM, some people can gain a fair bit round then. Keep as you are doing and I bet you get a good loss at next WI.

WI for me tomorrow which is my birthday so a couple of pounds would be lovely but I'll settle for anything with a minus in front of it. I would like to have a takeaway curry this weekend and know that chicken rogan is fairly low in syns. Whoever it was who had curry further up the thread, did you lose that week? I'll cook one if needs be but just want to be able to have takeaway as a treat. Though there is a good argument for cooking a syn free one and treating myself to pudding .....

ditavonteesed · 13/10/2010 09:06

happy birthday wynken Smile

upsydaisysexstylist · 13/10/2010 09:07

Happy birthday Wynken. Dita he is very cute, just so much bigger than his big brother was, head and all

Lizzylou · 13/10/2010 11:33

Umm, hello Smile

I am re-joining Slimming World tonight, I last went 3 years ago and lost over 2 stone.

I was very good the past year and lost weight/toned up but seem to be slipping recently. I don't think I eat enough and I know that SW means you can eat more, eat healthily and feel fuller and still lose.

I need the focus a weekly weigh in gives, but am a bit worried about first weigh in now.

TaudrieTattoo · 13/10/2010 11:38

Hello, can I join?

I started SW yesterday. Did it to lose baby weight after each of my dses and it worked a treat.

I want to lose a stone, hopefully by Christmas, then after that, we'll see.

I'm 5ft 7 and 12st 5.

Quick question - are the Activia snackpots free?

(bloody hope so, am inhaling them)

dizzytrout · 13/10/2010 12:31

Hi :)

Just quickly updating my loss this week, at work so will catch up on thread later...

I lost 4lbs this week!! Yay!!!!

So that's 1st 8.5lbs now, still a long way to go, but happy it's moving xx

DontCallMeBaby · 13/10/2010 16:32

tawdryhepburn - yes, Activia snackpots are free ... personally I'd go easy on them though, don't know how many calories are in them, but Muller Lights, also free, are 100 calories a pot, which can add up. :)

Wynken, a number of us have had curries out during the course of the thread ... I had one, and 'only' lost half a pound that week. Only is in quotes as it wasn't at all bad given I accompanied the curry with a lovely big naan and three pints of cider, AND spent the following Monday eating biscuits on a course at work.

Lulumaam · 13/10/2010 16:46

happy birthday wynken and well done to dizzy and dita on their losses!!

i had a lot of activia last week, 2 - 3 a day and i am sure it contributed to my gain, even though it was a small one as it's still 2 -3 00 calories

also too many potaties and frylight !

this week have gone for much more lean meat & veg and boiled rice

cut syns to maximum of ten per day, although didn't have any yesterday

hoping for a good loss on monday, at leaast 2 lbs . although DH is invlved in teh relaunch of a local restuarant and we're going twice this weekend to eat.. Hmm going to have big salad and wine & soda and try to avoid heavy cheesy dishes

findingtheRialme · 13/10/2010 18:55

well done on losses and happy birthday wynken.

been and done the shop with a good week in mind... have steak for tomorrow (with SW chips and veg, mushrooms and onions, yum), am going to try that pasta recipe below, and maybe quorn sausage on Friday. Not sure about Saturday yet, but Sunday is 1940s day in our house (there is a "wartime weekend" locally that I take the boys to, and last year we had a whole weekend of '40s themed food (from DS1s wartie cookbook!) faggots and spam sandwiches anyone? We will probably have cottage pie and masses of veg TBH, but the thought is thereWink

Lulumaam · 13/10/2010 19:13

faggots ?! is taht offal based?

i'm starting with a cold. not good.

have had a tiny handful of licorice torpedoes tonight.

going to have a cup of tea with milk & sugar for 2 syns, i need the comfort and some scan bran and laughing cow to fill a gap. then bed !

findingtheRialme · 13/10/2010 19:43

have no idea what's in faggots - last year I bought them from Tesco! They weren't popularWink

Lizzylou · 13/10/2010 21:07

Oh goodness, I joined SW tonight, was about 1.5stone heavier than I thought I was Shock
So will be living off Muller light and quorn from now on in, which isn't that bad. I stocked up yesterday.
I want to lose 2stone 2lbs.

Have been reading the books, it is all different, do you really lose on Extra Easy? It was just red and green days before? Confused

Melty · 13/10/2010 21:24

Hi Lizzylou, certainly seems like it! I have been doing mostly EE days, with the odd red day thrown in and I am down 11.5lbs in 3 weeks. I am aiming for 2 lbs a week, as the first week was probably mostly fluid losses. I didnt trust it either, but if you follow it exactly, it works.
Count syns, count healthy extras and have plenty of superfree fruit and veg.
Happy Birthday Wynken!
Well done everyone for the losses this week, and Lulu, dont despair. I think the 10 syns should be ok, but maybe you need to add more superfree stuff?

Lizzylou · 13/10/2010 21:27

Wow, well done you Melty!
If I could get 11 lbs off in 3 weeks that would be a huge incentive.

Melty · 13/10/2010 21:49

Bear in mind though that I started with 6 stone 3 lbs to lose.
I do feel that when you have more to lose the first couple of weeks are big ones(That is certainly what it seemed like when I did SW before- and only had 2 stone to lose, the ladies with lots to lose lost more at the start.)
After that it evens out.
My friend has 1.5 stone to lose and she lost 3 lbs the first week, and 2 a week after that.

Melty · 13/10/2010 22:36

I found this easy to use weight loss tracker.

www.glowingtubes.com/p/Excel_Weight_Tracker.htm
It shows nice big figures and a little graph.
I used the weekly one, but its in lbs, not stones. So to see the amount of pounds I have to lose made me shriek out loud.
75 and a half pounds. Yikes.

Ninjacat · 13/10/2010 23:41

1lb on Sad

snack pots are free except peach which is 1/2

Melty · 13/10/2010 23:57

Ninja, dont worry. Pick up and keep going.
Are you doing a food diary?
When I had problems before, I realised that I was totally undercounting HEs and syns.

Write everything down for a week and see how you go.
Its very easy to forget what you had in the morning, it seems such a long time from breakfast to dinner.
I almost forgot about the half slice of cake I had today, and was about to have a very synful evening!!

upsydaisysexstylist · 14/10/2010 09:29

Ninja, keep going. The main difference btwn SW and doing it on my own is not giving up when I eat too much one day. Second food diary I was ahem tidying up after my toddler to the tune of about 50syns a week. I don't even like blinking white chocolate or ginerbread men especially. Now saving syns for dark chocolate

Melty · 14/10/2010 12:41

Rial, I made that pasta again, but used Quark instead of the Fromage Frais. Even nicer, seems to be creamier. Yum.

findingtheRialme · 14/10/2010 15:13

thanks for the tip Melty, I couldn't find quark yesterday as we shopped at a different branch of Tesco!

kkfairybrains · 14/10/2010 17:06

hi ladies! havent posted for about a week as was away all weekend.
went to visit cousins and had been looking forward to it for ages so totally pigged out! fry ups and chocolate fountains and ice cream and chinese and.............you get the picture?!!! so went to the morning weigh in this week and was 1 lb up. which wasnt too bad considering! finding it hard to get back on track though. seem to be craving chocolate today but havent given into temptation. so its been porridge for brekkie, scrambled egg and beans for lunch, 1 mullerlight and for dinner it will be steak, sw chips, loads of veg and mushy peas. need to get back into the habit of making my pasta sauces in advance and stuff and keep it varied. going to try that pasta recepie above it sounds lovely. im in ireland though and where i live we cant get quark and havent seen fat free fromage frais either Confused
some great losses here which has upped my motivation so keep it up ladies!
