So today is D day! Diet starts today, I have my first slimming world class tonight and i am feeling quite motivated. I think I probably have around 3 stones to lose, but i would be happy to even lose 2. I just feel fat and unhealthy and have never been this big before!

So today is day 1 of sorting myself out! Just wondered if anyone else was starting today too, not just slimming world, but any thing, and wanted to have somewhere to chat, swap ideas, or get some moral support?

Boob lift?

candyfluff · 27/09/2010 20:22

my boobs are like hanging baskets when i take my bra off - they werent like that a few weeks ago - thats the last place i want to loose weight from

Melty · 27/09/2010 20:24

Oops.
Ulrika boobs?
What were your boobs like prior to the weight gain?

candyfluff · 27/09/2010 20:27

yes ulrika boobs - they were slightly saggy due to having 3 kids but errrrrr they are gross

Melty · 27/09/2010 20:32

I'm afraid I dont have any helpful suggestions.
Don't suppose you have a very wealthy DP to sort out the boob job?

Lulumaam · 27/09/2010 20:53

rial i am so sorry for your loss, how awful Sad

well done everyone for sticking with it another week..

after all my whinging, i lost 4 lbs in my second week Grin and got slimmer of the week!!

very much more motivated as i was dreading losing a 1lb or so after my big weight loss first week, and then thinking it's not worth it !

so am thrilled

9.5lbs off in 2 weeks, and have not been short of food

going to be super dooper until saturday when i go to london for my niece's birthday, where i shall relax a little, but not gorge.

Lulumaam · 27/09/2010 20:54

wynken , i know what you mean, but at least we're starting now, even if it's stones rather than a stone to lose.. it's never too late is it?

Melty · 27/09/2010 21:11

Lulu Thats brilliant. Its such a boost to get slimmer of the week. Did you get anything interesting in your basket?

findingtheRialme · 27/09/2010 22:02

fab losses you guys, well doneSmile

have hit the quality street (got them in a s my 2 a day treat item) as DS3 is already stressing about nursery tomorrowSad, probably won't make my dance class tomorrow as DH is off at the hospital having tests, and if DS3 won't go to nursery I can't go. also had M'sons eat smart garlic bread with my healthy pasta bake at teatime, and don't eant to breathe garlic fumes on any elderly men who may approach me for a danceWink

no idea about Ulrika boobs, sorry.

It sounds like no-one knows why my friend died, apparently she was feelling ill and got her parents round, who rang NHS direct, and when they got her to walk to the phone to speak to the nurse she collapsed and went into cardiac arrest. It is very very sadSad

MamaLeMay · 27/09/2010 22:13

Hello! Please can I join in.....? I plucked up the courage to join this evening and feel very motivated but a bit, ok very nervous about the amount you can eat and lose weight? I've always had to deny myself food in the past.....! I have 2 beautiful ds's, the youngest is just 4 months old and I no longer recognize my body. :-( and I am sick of still being in my maternity jeans...( very embaressed by that!)
alcohol is my downfall though really, it's been sooooo easy to have a drink (or 2!) once the boys are in bed to wind down..... Anyone have any tips for that?! Smile
really looking forward to losing this weight .......!

findingtheRialme · 27/09/2010 22:17

EW, sorry, not ignoring your question. The teacher told me he had only cried for a couple of minutes after I left, but he was a white as a sheet and tear-stained when I collected him, so I'm not sure. Also I know that the assistant teacher thinks I'm a neurotic troublemaker (she was head of the nursery class when DS2 started - we had a year of screaming before bed the night before, as soon as he woke up, and until he got to schoolSad, but his first day of reception was a different story and he has loved school every since), as I have made it quite clear that I think at just 3 DS3 is too young to be putting on his uniform and going to school. (you may all feel free to tell me I need to let go - as every else seems to think they have the right to - I will ignore you tooWink). I really think if it is causing him that much distress he isn't getting anything positive out of it and it would be better to wait until he is ready... he is asleep on my knee again now.

findingtheRialme · 27/09/2010 22:19

Hi MLM, welcome to the thread. Drink is one of my downfalls tooBlush, my goal this week is to view it as a proper treat and am having low alcohol pink fizz, to make it seem more special.
My mum is always sceptical about how much I eat...

Keziahhopes · 27/09/2010 22:30

Hi MLM - people at my group say that have one alcoholic drink, then a soft drink - diet coke or fizzy water thingy... so don't feel deprived but half it to start with. Don't know if that is any use ... or use alcohol for syns? Hope you have a good week .

WynkenBlynkenandNod · 27/09/2010 22:48

Absolutely fantastic losses going on, brilliant !

Melty I am with you on the heavy bones. I finally confessed how much I have to lose to friend who is joining SW soon and she was really shocked, pretty sure she wasn't faking it. Extra Easy does work, I'd struggle going back to red and green days now, though have has a couple of green days as it fitted in better with food at a friend's house.

Candy, I'm sorry, I don't know what to do about Ulrika boobs. I have plenty filling you could use if you need it, you're most welcome to my stomach.

Rial, how utterly tragic about your friend. I really feel for her family and her friends. I hope things improve with DS3, it must be very distressing.

Lulumaam, you're totally right, at least we are doing it now. It would have been so easy to have left it until after Christmas, doing it now means we will hopefully be well on the way to a couple of stone lighter which is enough to make quite a difference.

MLM, welcome. Can you turn your alcohol into longer drinks to make them last longer or is that sacriledge?

Dontcallme, fingers crossed for WI tomorrow and EW also that the scales show 3lbs on D day.

My thing of the moment is strawberries with that Total 0% fat Greek yoghurt with a bit of added sweetner. Really gorgeous and feels naughty.

MamaLeMay · 27/09/2010 22:51

Thank you for the welcome! The vodka bottle is going in the cupboard under the stairs! Lol. Low alcohol pink fizz sounds yummy though!
Tomorow is my first day, so I'll be back with an update. Night Smile

Lulumaam · 28/09/2010 07:42

I find doing a half measure of wine, so half of a 175 ml measure, topped up with ice and soda water or diet lemondade is a good tactic. you get the taste of wine, but half the syns it would have been and you have a hydrating drink with it. it's more filling than wine and i am never tempted to slosh more vino in the glass... give it a try

i got apples, home grown tomatoes, a sugar free jelly sachet and two muller lights in my basket !

ditavonteesed · 28/09/2010 08:02

mmorning everyone, rial Sad so sorry about your friend and your ds, hope he slept ok in the end.
well done on all the losses.
I have weigh in tonight, have not been good since sunday, yesterday went a bit to pot as I was exhausted from dds birthday and I crave carbs something rotten when I am tired, still feel like death this morning as missed early night I needed because I babysat for a mate. anyway according to the wii I haven't put anything on over the last couple of days which has to be good. hoping for a decent loss to keep me motivated, else I might come over to your side as I seem to have spent much of the week hungry.

upsydaisysexstylist · 28/09/2010 08:29

Well done Lulu! saves buying quite so much fruit this week.

I was sceptical about extra easy, but decided SW were better at weight loss than me and am trusting them. So far it is working, I do use the portion size on the packets for rice and pasta though as otherwise I make too much and we end up wasting it. Am also using wholewheat options to avoid refined carbs as they make me want to binge.

Not a good week for me, distracting a slightly poorly DS1 by baking was not a good move and the worst of it was I have no idea what my syns were, just had to be good the rest of the day. Also have felt very hungry the last few days, started to beat my self up about it then remembered very hungry baby plus DS1 feeding durring night with cold1

MrsMojoRising · 28/09/2010 08:33

Hello - can I jump in at this late stage? Have been halfheartedly doing WW recently and am a bit bored (and hungry) on it.

MamaLeMay · 28/09/2010 09:40

Good morning all! thank you all for your advice on the alcohol.....! does anyone know how many syns an Activia snack pot has? I've probaby joined at the wrong time because I've already done my 'big shop' so trying to figure out how to do this with what I've already got in ifykwim? [Confused

findingtheRialme · 28/09/2010 12:17

morning all.Smile

up before 6 with DS3, then an hours screaming hysterics (him, not meWink) including the 10 min walk to schoolSad, he says he's had a good timeHmm

didn't feel up to my dance class thoughSad have moved the furniture in DS1s pit room and picked up all his prized possessions off the floor and put them in bin bags. I really don't know how he can bear for it to be like that. Need my mother to give him one of her special lectures about being ashamed of himselfWink

had a sneaky mid-week step on the scales and I seem to be down 3lb, so will try and keep up the good work, though I may have a treat tonight!

good luck with the WIs.

candyfluff · 28/09/2010 18:21

body magic ladies every bit helps - including housework

had my weigh in today ahve lost 1 & a half pounds this week - so 6 & a half so far just a smidge more then i have done half a stone - i seem to be taking the scenic route !!
really love to win slimmer of the week

moocowmrs · 28/09/2010 19:54

Yippee I reached the 1/2 stone mark tonight in three weeks I am chuffed to bits and going to take it 1/2 a stone at a time so focus on the next one now. But have not focused this week so could bite me back next week so goign to be extra good this week and see how we get on.

findingtheRialme I have just taken DD out of preschool, she going to a play school 2 mornings a week, she is very nearly three. It was too much for her she could not cope and was struggling to settle. i am very lucky that she can be at home with we and realise that that is not an option for all but I made the mistake of what works for one will work for all, ds was fine at that age and loved it. Don't be afaid of saying this is not working and look at other options.
