(bounces in annoyingly like a big happy Tigger wearing lots of layers and husband's fleece)

Hello ladies - sorry to disappear off the radar and not really playing my part - but had a totally gubbins week food-wise and wanted to weigh-in before showing my face again. Which is daft really as the moral support is needed at the shite times, not the good ones.

Had a quick catch-up whilst DD is laying on the floor gibbering at me - you all seem to be doing well despite the trials of sick kids/ colds/ crappy weather. Despite newfound enthusiasm for oat cakes I have lost 2 pounds - totally over the moon!

Stopped drinking every night - have dessert every other night rather than after every meal - and oatcakes (with every possible topping) for lunches.

Soooo pleased. And will not sidle off anymore...Blush I know if I get shouted at it is for my own good.

How's everyone else doing - and have you all got one weigh-in day or all doing it on different days??

Shaxx · 01/12/2010 19:56

iluvcake whenever you want to reward yourself, just think that there is no bigger reward than an outfit one size smaller Smile

Well done TCOB on weightloss. Keep going!

I went shopping and got stuff for leek and potato soup but didn't get round to it. Just managed to chuck ingredients in a pot for lamb stew. Soup for tomorrow.

I was chatting to my dietician friend (who's also trying to lose baby weight) and she told me that I shouldn't think of losing weight and just focus on general healthy eating. 'Even if it takes 2 months to lose 5lbs, as long as you've made permanent habit changes, you're better off and the weight will carry on coming off' she said.
I'm going to try to keep reminding myself that its all about being healthier and fitter.

justaminute · 01/12/2010 20:06

Your in awe comment made me smile iluv. I found day 9 & 10 of level 1 quite easy. Not so tonight, I ramped it up to Level 2 and I'm sweating like a pig, I forgot how much it kills. My arms are wobbling as I type and thats not because of the bingo wings Grin. Hope ds is 100% again soon.

Welcome back TCOB, you seem to have done well weight wise even if you did have a gubbins week. Gubbins is my word of the day I must try and get that into a conversation tomorrow. I used to be a Monday weigher - was afraid of weekend biffing if I had a good result on a Friday but most people seem to be Friday weighers so I've switched (I'm very easily led). It means I'll weigh on Xmas eve so I'm hoping it will be a nice present to myself.

Slobbadan · 01/12/2010 20:26

Justaminute i never realised it would be a christmas eve weigh in! i am going to allow myself to eat what i fancy over the christmas weekend but not deliberatly stuff my face for no reason iyswim?.

Im also afraid of level 2 on the shred! I will be on day 6 tomorrow and will watch level 2 afterwards to see what i think!

Welldone on the loss TCOB,i also lost 2lb last week and hope to have lost a smight more this week may aim is to be under 14st by next friday's weigh in so i need to lose 4lbs in 2 weeks and i will be more than happy!

Right - Friday it is. I want to get in sync.

Shaxx: reckon your dietician mate has got it right - I definitely haven't eaten less, just none of the crap (or gubbins Grin). Might have been beginner's luck though.

Time to ask a potentially gormless question but I can't pretend to know any longer:

(whispers) what is the Shred?

Shaxx · 02/12/2010 09:47

This is Shred!

Highly recommended.

I am still ill and my house is a disgrace. Does anyone else find that they feel worse if they're ill in a messy house?
Need to clean.

Slobbadan · 02/12/2010 10:44

Shaxx i hate when my house is a mess as it makes me feel so much worse! And even more so when DP says "its just mess, leave it till later/tomorrrow have a rest" while im seething thinking i must get up to clean so i can rest and be ill in peace!

Just made a pot of carrot and tomato soup and cant wait till it ready as im starving!

TCOB the shred is fab as it is a full body work out squashed into 20 mins so easy to fit in. I have not shredded today yet but might later.

I have a house full of kids as my 2 are not at school as its closed because of the snow and i also have my 3 nieces as SIL is at work (she is looking after mine on sunday so i can shop at the metro center and finnish my xmas shopping).

Undertone · 02/12/2010 12:47

Blardy weather! Took 3 hours to get into work this morning, which was an improvement from 3 hours 20 minutes yesterday morning. I've been hiding in pubs with friends after work until the trains are less chaotic after 10pm to get home in a speedy two hours or so.

I'm not pigging on cake and takeaways and biscuits - I just seem to be constantly grazing on salad, bananas, the odd nut, oatibix, etc. I seem to need constant refuelling - my hunger is a ravening beast at the mo!

To make it worse, it's unbelievably busy at work at the moment and I haven't been going to the gym.

I am forseeing 'drawing a line' under December. Fingers crossed I just maintain.

Shaxx · 02/12/2010 14:01

Slobbadan Lol at 'be ill in peace'. Thats exactly how I feel.
I've managed to get some cleaning done so feel a bit better. I'll have a lemsip in a bit so I can do the school run. A friend kindly did it for me this morning but I can't ask again as the pavements are terrible and she has to go out of her way. I'm not looking forward to it.

Have not been great with food either :(

Shaxx · 02/12/2010 14:03

Undertone poor you and rubbish journey to work. Do you drive or take the train?
Well done on grazing on healthy stuff!

thedogwalker · 02/12/2010 17:14

Afternoon all, dreading weigh in tomorrow, I've been good all week, but I just don't feel right this week.

I can tell you how good I've been....my turn to host coffee morning tomorrow, so this afternoon I've baked a delicious chocolate brownie cake and loads of fairy cakes with fudgy bits in and lots of icing and sugary things on top. They smell absolutley divine, but I've not tasted them. I will have one tomorrow at the coffee morning and more importantly after the weigh in Xmas Grin but oh how good they smell....but Nothing tastes as good as slim feels.

Good luck to everyone for weigh in tomorrow, take care xx

iluvcake · 02/12/2010 22:43

thedogwalker, fairy cakes with fudgy bits in them, I would sell my soul for one of those ATM .

justamin, have you managed another level two shred?Grin I sweat a lot more than with level one as well! Hate to break it to you, Slobbadan, but it's quite hard going. I was not a pretty sight the other night.

Can I just send out sympathy vibes to Undertone (can't believe your massivo commute:0)and Shaxx-get better soon!

I have been sort of half in the zone and half out. DS had funny viral thing that affected his legs and although his cold was much better and he should have been at school, he couldn't walk. He's been very whingy and quite demanding and I've been carrying him around a bit as well (must count as a bit of exercise??). By the afternoon, he could just about walk so we hobbled to costa coffee and shared a panini (bad) and DS had a gingerbread man. I looked at all the cakes and wanted one but resisted (good) but had a cinammon mocha (bad).

Have a busy weekend, christmas meal tomorrow night and seeing friends Sat night and Sunday lunch so potential for lots of high fat food/puddings etc. (eating at both friends' houses and they are both good cooks fond of preparing gargantuan feasts).

See everyone for the weigh in tomorrow-good luck!!

Slobbadan · 03/12/2010 07:19

thedogwalker - those cakes sound gorgeous and i could of scoffed a plate of them last night!

iluvcake - hope your DS gets better soon, and you sound like you have a challenging weekend of temptation ahead (googluck).

Well last night i went food shopping and pre booked a taxi to collect me at 6.30pm was ready with a shed load of shopping but no taxi, in the end i had to wait 30 mins in the frickin snow and cold for another company to pick me up as the other never showed sooooooooo i mentally made plans to scoff loads of pizza and chips (what i bought me and dp for dinner) and stuff my fat face to make me feel better! Anyhoo while dinner was cooking i was looking on here and thedogwalker made a comment at the end of her post that stopped me in my tracks (nothing tastes as good as being slim feels) and i i ended up having a 1/4 of the pizza when i normally would have half and about a plam size portion of oven chips! instead of loading my plate like i was fully intending! Was rather proud of my self (prob prouder if i ate salad tho!)

Well on to the weigh in and i sts! so still 14st 3lb, i know i have had some little treats but i have shredded every frickin day so i thought i would of atleat lost a lb or something!

Will shred again today and hope i lose a bit more next week.

Good luck all

ABudafulSightWereHappyTonight · 03/12/2010 07:53

Morning all!

Am very impressed with all the Shredding going on. I am going to have to join in if I want to hold my head up aren't I??? I have it. Unopened and hidden at the bottom on my paperwork drawer so I don't have to look at it!

Well i have weighed in and am down 2lbs! Yay!!

Have been ok this week but not brilliant as was out for lunch on Wednesday at an Indian friend's house and she did FAB food. Another couple of friends had brought dessert and there was lemon tart, chocolate tart and pumpkin cupcakes. Went up for dessert with another mum from school and she said she wanted everything so why didn't we split a slice of everything so that is what we did. The pastry on the tarts was a bit dry and hard so i didn't have that just the filling but about 2 mouthfuls of each and half a cupcake.

Had a shitty afternoon yesterday with an escaping dog. Twice. Had to go rescue her in the snow/sleet. So I did an easy dinner of chicken with a jar of tomato sauce and some pasta. It was quite tasty and the pasta was 'Integrali' which I think means high fibre so not too bad.

Have just had some Irish brown soda bread for breakfast as a treat. Had to go and get sodding dog AGAIN in dressing gown and PJs as neighbour brought her back. Ended up stood in heavy snow in dressing gown with an irate neighbour and then chasing the dog down the road! Bloody animal.

Undertone - your commute sounds horrendous. I so remember those days of commuting in London. Yuck.

Hi everyone else!

iluvcake · 03/12/2010 07:57

Slobbadan, well done for controlling yourself with the pizza and chips-that takes willpower, especially after your totally pants evening!

Don't be too disappointed about STS. I know we all want to lose every week but I think a good result is not gaining as well.

I was 9.10.5 last week and am 9.9.8 this morning so almost a pound lost.

Am surprised but pleased after my dodgy week of half zoning.

Boot camp this morning-uugh-but forcing myself.

Weekend may be cancelled as both sets of friends snowed in-Sad about maybe not getting together but [happy] about not eating mountains of food.

Look forward to hearing how everyone has got on.

iluvcake · 03/12/2010 08:00

That should have been Smile...

Buda, loving the festive name! Yay, that is brilliant. Great loss!

Yes, get the shred out, come and join us. It will give you another form of exercise rather than just chasing after dogGrin!

ABudafulSightWereHappyTonight · 03/12/2010 08:20

Hi iluvcake! Thanks for comments re name. A very clever MNer came up with it a couple of years ago and I can't remember who. But I 'wear' it every year. It always fits!

justaminute · 03/12/2010 09:21

Slobbadan i'll come and join you on the STS seat. I've shredded daily too but have period so I'm more than happy to sts, especially after biscuitgate.

iluv - yep I'm still sweating it out on Level 2. How on earth does Jillian talk and exercise? It takes all my energy just to breathe Blush

thedogwalker I feel like the bisto kid sniffing the air trying to take in the aroma from those delish cakes. Fab willpower not to even try one.

buda - loving the name it warrants my first Xmas Smile

Shaxx · 03/12/2010 09:45

I have put on a lb!
I'm not totally annoyed by that as I have been ill and been doing a bit of comfort eating plus I have af and have not done any exercise since Sunday. I will have that lb off and more by next friday!

Thanks for all the well-wishes. I just hope they hurry up and take effect! Ds2 has come down with it, I have awful period pains and still feel rough myself. I've kept ds2 off school today as I can't take him in plus I don't want to drag ds2 out. Woe is me [feelingsorryformyselfemoticon]

The dogwalkers cakes sound so yummy. I'd have scoffed the lot feeling like this!

Buda - great namechange Smile
iluvcake - bootcamp?! not in this weather surely? You're brave!

Well done to all you losers and sts! You're all doing well and I bet you shredding sts'ers have lost inches!

dinkystinky · 03/12/2010 10:04

Shaxx - according to my scales I've put on 2lbs this week - so that blows your 1lb out the water. Not that worried as bit bunged up inside so some of that may well be extra weight that will disappear (sorry if TMI) but am feeling podgy and out of condition so need to get back to the exercising with a vengeance. You're ill - drink lots of water and look after yourself and your ill kiddies and eat (but healthy options) and you'll lose that lb an more.

Dogwalker, Slobbadan - huge congratulations on your fortitude in the face of temptation!

Cool name Buda Grin

thedogwalker · 03/12/2010 12:41

Hello all

Congrats to us all for surviving another week.

I've lost a pound, which is better than I thought, didn't feel quite right yesterday. However,, at my coffee morning today I did indulge in one of my fairy cakes with fudgy bits, yum yum, but I will be good for the rest of the day Xmas Grin

Think I'm going to be brave and order the shred DVD and join all you shredders. I feel I'm missing out Xmas Hmm. Probably not when I start doing it.

Good luck to everyone over the weekend, lets keep up the good work, knowing we'll look fantastic on christmas day Xmas Grin Xmas Grin

dinkystinky · 03/12/2010 13:45

Dogwalker - get working on your pelvic floor muscles before your shred dvd arrives! Congrats on the 1lb loss.

justaminute · 03/12/2010 21:10

Should be shredding this evening but my thighs are burning from taking the dcs out on their sledge this pm. I think the number of times I walked up and down the hill equate to 20 mins of Shred hell.

ds and dd loved it. Ds went off course for one run and took out a load of teenagers that were mingling at the bottom. Thankfully noone was hurt, it was so funny and dh captured it on the camera - you've been framed here I come Grin

Have a good weekend everyone.

Slobbadan · 05/12/2010 07:10

I have been bad, really bad!

Think i was depressed at not losing weight when i had been so good and exercised etc.

Back firmly im the zone and need help to stay there please so i can salvage the rest of the week!

Damn the bloody weekend.
