Yep, currently about 4 lbs in it - do you know, that might just have motivated me a bit more as if you keep at your current rate you'll be half my weight soon!!

I've got the ww mobile thing and you link to your ww account so you can track stuff via mobile phone or iPad.

NicknameInUse · 04/02/2011 00:22

Hi, mind if I join? Smile I was on a different thread but that's died over the last couple of weeks and as a consequence, so has my motivation.
I'm 14st 6lbs and really struggling to get to grips with the mindless eating in the evenings (I had just sat down with a cream egg and a packet of crisps when I started to read this thread, but they're still there! Grin).

I was tracking my calories and was coming in at about 1500 a day (not including the odd take away!!) but most of those tend to be in the evening when I'm relaxing. Am aiming to cut my portion sizes at dinner (I love carbs) and get more excercise again (I had lost a few inches of my waist and hips but think I've put that back on since I've lapsed.).

So, I'm a size 16/18, used to be a 12 until having my son (nearly 2), would love to get down to a 14 realistically and am done rambling for now. Sorry! Grin

NicknameInUse · 04/02/2011 08:49

Had to re-configure my scales because they were being temperamental they're now reading 14st 13lbs. Angry I prefered them when they were wrong! Grin

HerculesPoirot · 04/02/2011 13:59

Hi NicknameInUse - of course you are welcome to join us! As are any other lurkers out there...

We're not a very fast moving thread, and we do go days without posting, but I'm finding it helpful just posting on here how much I've lost (or not!) each week.

I've been making lollies with fruit juice and diet lemonade and having those in the evening when I want something sweet and am finding that is working well for me sometimes or drinking hot orange squash as it doesn't make me want to eat toast with it!

Silver, I also feel like I can do it this time as so far I've done it without having to track so I just feel like I've made sensible changes without 'dieting' as such, which in turn hopefully means I won't stop dieting if you see what I mean! Anyway, I shall try and redeem my week, with a better weekend...

aristocat · 04/02/2011 18:27

silver28 · 04/02/2011 19:25

Hi everyone and welcome nicknameinuse!

I'm bad for snacking in the evenings so now do two things that help. Firstly, I save my pudding (usually cereal bar - currently loving the hobnob medley bars!) to have with a cup if tea after I've our ds to bed (so it feels like I'm getting a snack, but am actually just deferring done if my dinner). Secondly I try to do stuff in the evening rather than just watch tv - I do cross stitch (sad I know), go out with friends (v occasionally!), read, have a bath,or sometimes just go to bed early (god knows I need the sleep - ds is coming up for three and still doesn't sleep through the night!).

Anyway, hope everyone had good weekend.

silver28 · 04/02/2011 19:26

Has a good weekend. I'm not living in a parrellek world where it's already Monday!

silver28 · 04/02/2011 19:26

Parrellek? WTF, I give up.

gilbonzothesecretpsychoduck · 04/02/2011 19:35

Hi everyone. I haven't been on this thread since October but I've just had a quick read through and everyone seems to be doing really well! Since I was last on here I've lost a stone which is great but unfortunately it was mainly due to having my gallbladder removed and being left unable to eat anything except veg for 2 weeks. I'm still on track though and losing weight. My dd is at nursery now so I have a renewed relationship with my WiiFit which is really helping. Anyway, I've been missing the support and encouragement from you guys so I'm back Grin.

HerculesPoirot · 05/02/2011 10:09

Hi gibbon, hope you are fully recovered from your op now. Nice to have you back - you were puddle puss at one point weren't you? Or am I getting confused...? Well done on your continued weight loss. I'm definitely feeling more motivated again - porridge for breakfast with dd, yum!

gilbonzothesecretpsychoduck · 05/02/2011 13:21

I was puddlepuss on here before, yes. Glad you've got the motivation back. I had toast for breakfast with the kids and it was white bread as well Shock!! Still, I made up for it by doing the world's most knackering workout dvd while dh took the kids out for lunch. I now have legs like jelly though Grin.

aristocat · 10/02/2011 12:24

hi all
well have been to my GP today and i am still losing weight although it has slowed down ..... gibbon i am liking the new name Smile

how is everyone else?

gilbonzothesecretpsychoduck · 11/02/2011 11:46

Thank you but, being very pedantic, it gilbonzo, not gibbon! No idea why it's gilbonzo but that's what came out when I started typing Grin.

I haven't weighed myself for a while as I have to unplug the dvd player to plug the WiiFit in and I'm VERY lazy but DH has just been away for a week and he has noticed a marked difference with my stomach - apparently I now have a pouch of fat as opposed to a general area of fat!! I must give him some compliment training asap!

Congrats on the continuing weight loss aristo Smile.

gilbonzothesecretpsychoduck · 11/02/2011 11:48

Oooo get me fussing over my name when my grammar is appalling it's gilbonzo Naughty me.

aristocat · 11/02/2011 19:01

Blush sorry gilbonzo praps i need glasses!

HerculesPoirot · 14/02/2011 19:35

Hello everyone! I am feeling motivated again which is good.... I'd been sort of floating about where I had got down to on 18th Jan and 2 lbs above over the last few weeks. Finally got back to the bottom end of it this morning and am feeling ready to think about it again which is good.

I have also been making more of an effort in cooking meals for all the family (DD is 14 months) and she has been really enjoying her food which is also motivating for me. I can recommend this recipe. I didn't have marscapone so used philadelphia and also we only had skinless chicken breasts, but it still worked well and was easy. I didn't even know you could get tinned cherry tomatoes before this recipe!!!

How is everyone else doing?

gilbonzothesecretpsychoduck · 14/02/2011 19:59

Hey Poirot, glad to hear you're motivated - I need some of that. I was doing so well until dh went away last week. The evenings are so boring and there are hulahoops in the cupboard.....not good! Still, I haven't put any weight on but then I haven't lost any either. I had no dcs today so I was going to go for a bike ride, do an exercise dvd and cook a healthy meal for dinner but I had a migraine all day so I cleaned out the junk cupboard and gave the kids chicken nuggets for tea while I ate a wrap. Tomorrow's another day.....

HerculesPoirot · 14/02/2011 20:33

oh yes, dh is away again this week and that definitely makes the evenings worse for me as you say. I have planned this week though and hopefully will stay on track. I allowed myself one take away (tonight), but from an italian which is better than my usual rubbish take away! I think chicken nuggets and a wrap sound fine... hope your migraine goes soon. My other plan this week is to have very early nights and read books in bed, that always stops me snacking!

aristocat · 14/02/2011 21:23

mmmmmm Herc i like the look of that, i am always experimenting with new recipes ~ DH is the guinea pig Grin

silver28 · 15/02/2011 18:31

Hi everyone, just checking in. I've been a bit rubbish the past ten days (again!) but back on track now. And somehow I seem to have stil lost a pound or two so that's ok.

Luckily DH is making an effort to lose a few pounds at the moment so that should help me.

Re avoiding snacking in the evenings, I too find that going to bed early helps!

aristocat · 15/02/2011 19:09

just wanted to say that i brush my teeth to avoid snacking Blush

HerculesPoirot · 15/02/2011 20:02

Right, tonight I am going to bed early and brushing my teeth!

I cooked pork and vegetable stir fry with noodles tonight. Very funny watching Immy eat her noodles, but she really liked them... I am really enjoying the cooking and eating with her, it's getting to be how I imagined it would be and hopefully helping me lose.

Currently feeling confident for the week (I know you're not supposed to, and I dont' usually, but I jumped on the scales again this morning and was another lb down... must not check again until monday...!)

Well done Silver - all going in the right direction!
