Me too. A couple of nights this week I've gone to bed early as it was the only way to avoid mindless eating!

aristocat · 08/01/2011 20:46

Timba i am not with SW or WW ~ just eating good healthy food and swimming.
TBH one of my problems was portion sizes, it is easy to over-eat and i am a quick eater too, so always always finish my meal first.
also i have gone tee-total and dont drink any alcohol .....

regarding the mindless eating, i know exactly what you mean Blush its hard to control yourself sometimes isn't it?

Timbachick · 09/01/2011 13:48

Thanks for the welcome Grin. I think I may just try and continue with the sensible eating and incorporating exercise - going to go power walking tomorrow morning before work!!

Re the mindless eating: I find 9-10 pm'ish the worst time in the day to get through without snacking Hmm. I try and do something that involves my hands doing something other than stuffing food towards my mouth ... knitting, sewing, a home-done facial etc etc. Otherwise, I snack on fruit - not so satisfying but better for me.

One low fat snack I learnt at SW (years ago) was to freeze Mullerlight yogurts for an hour or so - you get a semi-frozen dessert which is quite nice.

Also, if you can pick up a copy of the Waitrose magazine (current) there is a really lovely recipe for Borlotti bean soup - just made it and it is lovely, even the DH loves it and he is really difficult to please.

Hi everyone!
Gave birth 10 weeks ago, so I have around 2 stone to lose, I also have a holiday in Ibiza coming up in 7 months so I am completely daunted about all the skinny bronzed beauties I'll be up against (going with my fiance of nearly 2 years, even worse!). I have lost every ounce of confidence I had before I had my daughter, so I need a good kick up my large arse to stop feeling sorry for myself! I've started eating better and tried 'Your Shape' on the xbox kinect which is really good, although playing on it for just 15 minutes yesterday has left me sore and my body begging for a lie down on the sofa! Help!!! x

aristocat · 10/01/2011 08:28

Gracie having a holiday booked is a super incentive!
congrats on your DD Smile

we all try to help each other here so good luck ................

HerculesPoirot · 11/01/2011 17:52

Hi Gracie!

Oh dear, I put on 1 lb this week. I think I got a bit complacent about my eating... must try harder for next week...

silver28 · 11/01/2011 19:02

That's a shame but 1 lb is nothing to worry about. You're still lighter than before Xmas.

I am totally back on track now and feeling positive.

my dad has offered to but me an outfit if I reach my goal by an agreed deadline. Have decided to set a goal of 12 St 6 which is a bmi of 25 for me and would make me a size 12-14 based on previous experience. Deadline is my birthday which is 6 months away, so means losing about 2 lbs per week on average so will be quite challenging I think but should help keep me on track. I hope to lose more than that in the longer term, but didn't want to set anything that seemed impossible to achieve.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

silver28 · 11/01/2011 19:05

Forgot to say, I've been scanning old photos onto computer this weekend. I higly recommend that for motivation to lose weight! I was 9 stone just 6 years ago and I looked so nice (didn't appreciate it at the time!). Don't think i'll ever be that thin again, but def feel inspired to lose some of this weight.

silver28 · 13/01/2011 18:53

Yay, lost 3.5 lbs this week so back on track now Smile

aristocat · 13/01/2011 21:45

well done silver

i have resumed swimming but not lost any more weight ATM (none on either) and all is well here Smile

MickeyMixer · 13/01/2011 22:14

Hello Silver28 - similar story here - I lost 5 1/2 stone in 2007 and was a size 14 for first time since school! I loved buying clothes back then. Have since put it all back on plus a couple of stone. This time its got to be for LIFE! Slimming World all the way for me.

MickeyMixer · 14/01/2011 14:35

Hi all,

Took Timbachick's advice and made the Waitrose Borlotti Bean and Savoy Cabbage Soup from the latest Waitrose Magazine (also online btw). It is delicious and free of syns on Slimming World Extra Easy too!! Mmmmmmmmmmm Smile

Timbachick · 15/01/2011 16:40

Glad you liked the soup MickeyMixer - I am making a double batch this weekend so that I can freeze some.

Has anyone done any of the Paleo style diets? It involves eating like our ancestors - so out with wheat, grain, corn etc. I am reading about it and it sounds quite interesting but wondered what others thought?

Have weighed myself this morning but don't know if I've lost anything last week as I didn't have a start weigh in last week Hmm. So will weigh again next saturday and see what the result is!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend?

HerculesPoirot · 17/01/2011 19:24

Hello everyone! I lost 2 lbs this week so that's the one I put on last week and plus 1more, so pleased with that, i'm just one lb off being exactly 2 stone under my heaviest weight so I am pleased with that.

That diet does sound interesting, but think i'm trying to stick with just changing my eating habits this time. May well do something different when I plateau!

aristocat · 17/01/2011 20:37

2lb is great Herc Smile ~ well done

silver28 · 17/01/2011 20:40

Well done Hercules Smile

I scoffed 3 creme eggs today (was like a woman possessed, once I had them on my mind the outcome was inevitable!) but made up for it with a v light tea so should be ok and am not going to let it be my downfall.

HerculesPoirot · 17/01/2011 20:55

Thanks! Well done silver on not letting it be your downfall, I have finished off (by finish read start and then finish), three bags of chocolate money this week, just to get them out the way, but think I must have ben more careful elsewhere to compensate.

silver28 · 27/01/2011 20:27

Had a pretty crap week but went to weigh in today (tempted not to but that's always my downfall) and had lost one pound. So quite happy (and v surprised). I suppose it'll probably catch up with me next week, but I feel motivated to have a good week anyway. Gave list 21 lbs now so starting to notice a difference in my body, but got bloody LOADS more weight to lose.

silver28 · 27/01/2011 20:28

Gave list = have lost !

HerculesPoirot · 27/01/2011 20:41

Well done you - I put on 1 lb. I need to get back motivated again...

silver28 · 03/02/2011 18:36

I appreciate that no one else seems tk following this thread, but thought I'd post for my own benefit that I lost 3.5 lbs this week, so am fully back on track. Yay!

Hercules, if you see this then just wanted to say hope you're ok and have found your motivation again Smile

HerculesPoirot · 03/02/2011 19:11

I follow it, promise! Well done you, that is fantastic. I lost half a lb last week so not too bad. Not sure about this week dh has been away and I just can't organise myself with food properly and have ended up with quick junk food...

I have a hen weekend the first weekend in April and the wedding at the end of April, so hoping to lose maybe around 3/4 stone by hen do, and maybe another half stone for the wedding. If I lose 11lbs before the wedding it will take me under 15stone so I will treat myself to a 'nice' outfit.

HerculesPoirot · 03/02/2011 19:12

Are you tracking silver? I'm thinking about starting to track again. I got an iPad for Xmas, and have the ww app so could do it easily enough if I bothered...

silver28 · 03/02/2011 19:38

Oh hi Hercules! I wasn't sure if anyone was lurking. I quite like to keep posting to keep the thread going, and I do still find it helpful when others post, reminds me that others are going through the same choices etc as me (all my RL friends are thin!).

Fingers crossed that this week has been ok for you bits hard when your normal routine changes. Good idea for you to set those targets, I find having something to aim for (but not too much, too daunting) does help.

No I'm not tracking at the mo, tho I usually find I do better when I do track. Just being a bit lazy, and as the weight is homing off anyway I'll prob keep going as I am, then start tracking properly when if slows down.

I've lost 24.5 lbs now so am hoping to have lost 2 St by next week, or poss the week after.

Am going to check out the ww app in a mo. I have another app that tracks your weight loss in a graph etc (and it was free) so finding that quite useful.

silver28 · 03/02/2011 19:43

We must be around the same weight as I am 16 St 1.5 lbs (I am slightly heavier of course!) so will be nice to carry in losing weight together.

You know, I really feel like I cam do it this time. I have said that a hundred times before and it obv hadn't worked, but I feel v positive now plus I have tripped up a few times and managed to carry on, which i have never managed in the past. That makes me feel like next time I do overeat (read 'binge' Blush) I will know that it's possible to move on from, rather than throw in the towel. Fingers crossed.
