MrsKitty I tried to kick you up the arse but I just sent my laptop flying Grin.

It's only Tuesday, there's plenty of the week left to get back on track and enjoying your dd's 1st birthday (happy birthday MissKitty) is important!

If it helps, I'm jealous of how much you've lost and have been inspired by your positive attitude and you're always so lovely Smile.

The odd blow-out isn't going to ruin it all and is, IMO, necessary to keep going. Instead of keeping track of what you eat tomorrow could you try planning what you are going to eat and ticking it off as you do? I've found this helps on days where I know I'm going to be grazing all day. When it gets to 3pm and I only have 'cup of tea' and 'apple' left it gives me the shock I need to buck my ideas up.

aristocat · 28/09/2010 21:58

mrskitty happy birthday to your DD Smile
please dont get annoyed with yourself, have a good few days and you will feel much better

my B I G news is that i need to lose 3lb more and i will have lost 3 stone!
i am now a size 16 [same as you puddlepuss] and actually bought a size 14 t-shirt today .... and it fits well
i have put my size 20s in the charity bag

MrsKitty · 28/09/2010 22:14

LOL, Puddlepuss, Thank you Grin. My week runs from Thurs-Thurs (WW is on Thurs), so it has been almost a whole week, but hey-ho.

Fresh start tomorrow...

Well done, Aristo - I would love to be back in 16s by Christmas, so I better get going!

HerculesPoirot · 04/10/2010 20:11

Well done aristocat that's fab news! Can't wait to do the same...

I managed to lose 3 lbs this week by some stroke of luck. Perhaps my scales are broken?!? Anyway, that takes me to 7.5 lbs so now I need to keep this momentum coming a bit.

I've been trying to be better at keeping my house clean and tidy (I'm usually rubbish) and since we have had a loft extension it involves going up and down an extra flight of stairs. Dh is loving it as he gets to do the playing with dd while I hoover and clean the bathroom! Going to keep it up if I can...

How is everyone else getting one?

aristocat · 04/10/2010 21:48

thanks girls, am feeling rather good

however

i went here to Cosmo this weekend and it was gorgeous! but i need to live on fresh air for a few days now Wink

the occasional indulgence is good for the soul ....... dont you think?

MrsKitty · 05/10/2010 13:39

Ooh - I'm going there for a Christmas meal, Aristo...Glad to hear it was good Grin.

I still haven't managed to drag myself out of this spiralling failure... What with DDs birthday, then I didn't feel well for a few days (and 'needed' crisps and choc to feel better Hmm) and now DDs not well (approx 2 hours sleep in total last night) Sad. Am really Angry with myself but can't get back to it. I've not been awful, but I can feel the slippery slope beginning to take hold.

DD sleeping right now so I'm going to have a little lie down myself. (I'm betting as soon as I relax she'll wake up though...

HerculesPoirot · 05/10/2010 22:39

Wow, that looks lovely. Isn't sushi and the such like actually really good for you?!? I reckon you'll be fine.

Oh dear MrsKitty - that is difficult and that is exactly what I would be doing. Well done for not being awful, I'd have eaten take aways at least twice along with chocolate and crisps repeatedly by now. Hopefully your DD will feel better soon, you can get some sleep and ward of that slippery slope. Maybe get lots of fruit to snack on instead? I've been trying that - still eat too much (eg a whole punnet of grapes or cherry tomatoes or pot of pineapple) but can pick at it over a longer period of time and it must be better for me that toast and lashings a bit of butter.

puddlepuss · 06/10/2010 14:02

Hello everyone, how are we all?

I haven't weighed myself for ages so no progress to report. I still can't exercise because of my knee but I'm trying to be good. It's hard though because when I exercise I don't want to eat but if I don't exercise I want to eat all the time.

Sorry you're finding it hard MrsKitty. I know what you mean though and I've found myself doing similar the last couple of weeks. I'm pissed off because I'm in pain so I'm eating choclate to cheer myself up. So far it's not had a bad effect but I know that in a week or so it's all going to start showing. We'll ahve to sandpaper this slope together!

Aristo, that's amazing. I'm very Envy because I'm still an 18 on top - masheeeeve boobs!

aristocat · 06/10/2010 14:20

hi all,
gah....... still need to lose another 1-2lb to be 3 stone lighter! my norks have definitely got smaller, i went to be measured for a new bra last week - i was shocked that i am still only one size less than before

puddlepuss whats wrong with your knee? do you still have chutney with everything?

mrskitty sorry you're finding it hard at the moment too - everything is always so much harder when we are deprived of sleep. hopefully the sleep will return and you can continue being healthy.

quick question aswell - does anyone drink Green Tea?

a friend recommended it to me but it tastes vile Shock ......

MrsKitty · 06/10/2010 14:25

Who was it who suggested a homemade coleslaw? Think it was either Puddlepuss or Aristocat? Just made some for lunch with a jacket and it was yummy!

Made it chunky with cabbage/carrot/celery, low fat mayo and some dijon mustard.

puddlepuss · 06/10/2010 15:48

Can't take the credit for the coleslaw I'm afraid - sounds lovely though so I might give it a go.

I've damaged the ligaments around my kneecap and now my hamstring is buggered from overcompensating. I'm supposed to be going back to the doc to get it x-rayed/scanned but I've been trying to avoid that as it will probably result in a operation which will not be fun with a 2 yr old and a 4 yr old!

I'm having a break from the chutney as I ate it every day for 18 months and it got boring!! I'm going to have to start making it again though as I seem to have gone from healthy crisp bread to white bread sandwiches recently - oops! It's just so hard living in France with all their yummy baguettes Sad and a dh who can eat anything in sight and still lose weight Sad Angry Grin

aristocat · 06/10/2010 18:22

mrskitty its me. my coleslaw
glad you like it too, as i said before i have smaller portions (of everything) as well as low-fat food and fill my plate with the coleslaw Smile even DH likes it .....

puddlepuss i forgot you were in France, sorry. i have knee ligament damage too, not as serious as yours though.
an operation Sad hope the pain gets better soon.
sorry if i was too nosey Blush

puddlepuss · 07/10/2010 11:06

You can never be too nosey with me - I'm an open book Grin. I thought it was starting to get better but the last couple of days it's been crappy again. Oh well, I might get to put my feet up for a couple of days if they operate!

MrsKitty · 07/10/2010 22:12

Mmmm Coleslaw lovely - Thanks again, Aristo!

Sorry to hear about your knee, Puddle. Agree it'll be a bit of a nightmare to recover from a knee op with two young children Shock Poor you.

I don't think I could manage to lose weight and live in France, so hats off to you for what you've managed so far...I wouldn't be able to resist all those baguettes (smothered in thick salted butter...mmmmm) and croissants (filled with ham and melty cheese...mmmm) Grin.

Well, I went to weigh in tonight, and even though I've been feeling down & disappointed in myself, I obviously haven't been as bad as I thought, as I've still lost 1 & 1/2 lbs over the past 2 weeks! Grin Which I take to mean that I've actually managed to change my eating habits a bit so that even when I'm not "in control" I'm still kind of in control anyway, IYSWIM? That's 22lbs now.

Start back at work in 5 weeks Sad. DD had her first settling in session at nursery today. 5 weeks to get back into 18/20 work clothes. I think I can do it!

aristocat · 07/10/2010 23:47

well done mrskitty ...... Sad that work is only 5wks away though.

we will probably be here forever getting slimmer and fitter - YAY Smile

puddlepuss · 08/10/2010 06:57

Well done MrsKitty - that's fantastic!

HerculesPoirot · 08/10/2010 12:43

Well done MrsKitty! That's fab news, especially as I think you're right about being better when out of control if you know what I mean!

sorry to hear about the poorly knees, hope they stop troubling you all soon.

Am going to look up that coleslaw recipe and make some, it does sound delish I have to say, and the sort of thing I like.

I think I am getting better at making better choices - I lost 2.5lbs last week so that is 7lbs now. Am very pleased with myself. This week again not so good - went out with work bowling and had lots of alcohol (and fruit flavoured cide at that), sharing platters of rubbish food and then a macdonalds on my way home as it was opposite the bus stop!!! Obviously though the sprite zero cancelled out the burgers and chips... hmm.....

MrsKitty · 08/10/2010 21:18

Thanks ladies Grin.

Well done Hercules. Of course Sprite Zero cancels out the burger...Why do you think it's called Zero - It zeros out the calories Wink.

We're away this weekend - off to Birmingham to see In The Night Garden Live. I am ridiculously excited about it Blush.

Sn0wflake · 11/10/2010 10:30

Sorry for not popping in for a while. First week of diet lost 5 pounds 2nd week of diet lost .5 of a pound. So all in all good but need to keep focused or I just hang around at the same sort of weight.

Really looking forward to fitting into some old clothes...but it is a long way off.

aristocat · 11/10/2010 12:47

mrskitty how was Birmingham? and the show?

HerculesPoirot · 12/10/2010 19:49

Hello everyone! I was going to bury my head in the sand this week and avoid my scales of shame, but plucked up the courage to weigh this morning and I have lost another 1lb which is very flukey good, so slowly going in right direction. Some of my trousers feeling a little looser already so hoping that I'll be able to fit into some old clothes for Christmas season and look less blubbery in dd's 1st birthday pictures in December!

Well done Sn0wflake - all in the right direction!

MrsKitty - think you were right about that sprite zero Wink

MrsKitty · 16/10/2010 22:12

The show was great, thanks Aristo. Really impressive. Stayed at a travel inn and was so impressed - we had a family room which was huge!

Lost 2lbs this week - very pleased, as I wasn't exactly angelic whilst we were away.

Well done Snowflake & Hercules...It's all going in the right direction Grin.

HerGHOULPoirot · 16/10/2010 22:34

Congrats Mrs Kitty!

This week has been a difficult one for me, dh away with work from sunday morning until this morning (sat) and dd (10 months) still seems to have the end of a tummy bug/cough/cold that seems to come and go and she can't shake off. I did reach for the snacks and comfort foods a few nights so we will see this week...

HerGHOULPoirot · 18/10/2010 20:07

Well, well, well - I managed to lose 2 lbs so that takes me to 10.5 lbs. I'm glad I click and joined this thread sooooo much.

Hope you're all OK.

MrsKitty · 18/10/2010 22:27

Good for you Herc...Now we've just got to avoid all the trick or treat sweets that will be filling our houses soon Grin.

Hope your DD's feeling better. Mine's been up all night every night for the past 4 nights full of snot and new teeth (12 months). I'm really hoping for a decent nights sleep tonight.
