23 weeks til Xmas - who'll join me in a LBD challenge?

buttonmoon78 · 17/07/2010 11:15

I bought some wonderful red shoes a couple of weeks ago and they'd look fab with a LBD. The trouble is I wouldn't look so good in one! I really want to wear them at Christmas so would love to look good in a LBD by then. I'm thinking that a couple of stones would be a good place to begin.

So, my plan is...
I've already given up alcohol (a short term thing as I love it) on the basis that cutting down makes me miserable - I find it easier to have none than some and then stop!
In September, my youngest starts nursery so will be joining a gym.
I WILL do my pilates dvd & use my gym ball more.
I WILL start running again.

Any other chubby ones who fancy joining me? The more the merrier

Altogether now... jingle bells, jingle bells

mamatomany · 07/08/2010 12:44

I am starting work with a PT on the 16th to kick start me but too be honest i think i just need a kick full stop.

DottyDot · 07/08/2010 14:18

Grrr - weekends are so hard! Dp's taken ds's out while I pack to go away - there are now about 23 bags in the hallway and I'm starving (but only for crap...).

Ho hum - have had two big glasses of water today so far. The sensible thing to do would be to pour another

Oh wow that's gorgeous!! No, have never had a LBD - I think even with a couple of stone off mine is going to be a BBD but at least it'll be smaller than it would have been Grin

I'm a complete slob and tend to wear jeans to everything - but if the weight loss is going well I might have a look around.

I'm aiming more for March - have got a posh wedding to go to in early March and would love to be able to wear something amazing then - really need to have lost 3 - 4 stone, but if I do, I'll definitely be on the lookout for poshola outfit!

dillinger · 09/08/2010 09:20

Ooh mmmwine you'll look well glam! Grin

Sadly Id have no occasion to wear anything near as glam as that. I do own a lbd that if I could fit nicely into for xmas would be cool though I doubt I'll ever tighten my stomach enough to pull it off. Even with spanx (omg theyre the devils pants. After thongs) I dont look any different, just find it harder to breathe lol

Half of it is my posture, I slouch awful and I am terribly round shouldered. I try and remember to hold myself up then realise....

Im still bloody 9st 10lb, this last stone is being a pain in the arse to shift.

CheapHawaiian · 09/08/2010 09:23

Morning, everyone!

Well, the sun is shining and DH has gone back to work today. Love him to bits, but his idea of a healthy diet is a bit skewed, to say the least.Grin

mmmwine love that dress. Absolutely gorgeous.

We always have a big xmas eve party, and I've got a long, one-shoulder, dark blue dress. Slit up to my knickers, so the legs will need some work!

Anyway, weighed myself this morning and was expecting a 4 or 5lb gain. But no! I have lost a pound! YippeeGrinButtonmoon78 (5'6", 11st): 13st 7.6 (-0.6lbs)

CheapHawaiian · 09/08/2010 09:27

What happened there with my cutting and pasting?

Could it have something to do with 3 children all trying to talk to me while I type?

Welcome to the new LBD ladies.

We're doing pretty well so far, aren't we? Especially DottyDot.[grin}

MostlyLurking · 10/08/2010 08:20

Can someone tell me off for drinking my body weight in wine last night Blush and get me back on the straight and narrow.

CheapHawaiian · 10/08/2010 08:45

Won't tell you off, it is the holidays.

What are you going to eat today, though? I only want the wrong things after a heavy night.

MostlyLurking · 10/08/2010 08:49

Can't contemplate food right now, am still lounging in bed Blush. I imagine a bacon sandwich will be the way forward.

CheapHawaiian · 10/08/2010 09:01

I imagine you are right.Grin

Now that you have scales in your house, do you find yourself checking your weight all the time? I'm tempted to get some because the wii fit batteries keep 'disappearing'.

I am now paying for the fortnight's pork pie and ice-cream diet with a spot of such enormous proportions that the council are going to come round with some temporary signage.

MostlyLurking · 10/08/2010 09:11

Grin @ pork pie spot.

Only weighing once a day although will be avoiding them today.

buttonmoon78 · 10/08/2010 09:33

Wow, your council must be better than mine. It takes about 6 wks for them to do anything - and I hope your spot doesn't last that long!

MostlyLurking - don't sweat it. Just be a good girl today. Oh, and grill your bacon. Then you can have twice as much Grin

OP posts:
MostlyLurking · 10/08/2010 09:44

Will be very good today I promise. Bacon sandwich was loooovely.

You feeling better now Button?

buttonmoon78 · 10/08/2010 15:04

Actually not, thanks for asking! Went back to GP yesterday as although the bleeding's stopped, I've still got a fair amount of pain - period pain with the occasional red hot poker variety of pain. Dr said there was nothing serious wrong, it was probably left over from the infection and would go soon, so just leave it until after my hols when I want my Mirena out anyway.

So after I lasered him with my eyes reducing him to a pile of ashes meekly thanked him I left and chuntered in a disgruntled manner all the way home.

Ah well, here's to hoping it goes soon! Grin

OP posts:
buttonmoon78 · 10/08/2010 15:05

Though actually, I've been reading the ancient thread on here about Mirena induced weight gain and am really ramping up my expectations about weight loss once it comes out (whilst knowing I'll be bitterly disappointed!)

Just realised that no-one put our new girls in. I'll have a go.

CheapHawaiian · 10/08/2010 15:21

Ooh, big list now.Grin

Well, my plans for keeping active with dcs this holiday have hit a snag.

I've broken a bone in my foot. OW! Very swollen and tender, so long walks and bike rides will have to be put on hold. Sad

coffeekaren · 10/08/2010 18:33

Oh that sounds very sore - my dh did the same around a month ago by going to kick a football and kicking the solid ground instead- all he could do was strap it up and take loads of painkillers.

Back now from hols in spain and although had one or two ice creams - and eat whatever was cooked for me by my friends (including quite allot of fried fish and paella) have achived my goal of remaining the same weight. will weigh myself again on friday but not expecting much as only today back to foodfocus - and exercise. But all in all fairly happy that no weight gained and quite surprised.

CheapHawaiian · 10/08/2010 19:58

Well done, coffeekaren. My baby sister lives in Spain and a week with her usually means 4 or 5 lbs on for me - and that's with swimming every day!

My foot is really achy now and is making me feel a bit tearful. DH has put the littlies to bed but I've got to crawl upstairs soon or they'll be asleep before I get my kisses.

DottyDot · 11/08/2010 02:51

ouch - sounds painful - hope you're OK.

I'm reporting from a chilly but dry (unlike last night!) tent in North Devon - and let me tell you, camping is NOT good for the LBD campaign! Am eating my own body weight in Haribo to make up for the lack of sleep, and then there's the wine...

so, quite worried about stepping on the scales at the weekend - might need some shouting at/encouragement to get going again!

MostlyLurking · 11/08/2010 08:43

jeez Dot, you're up late or early depending in which way you look at it. Have to agree though has been chilly.

Hope illnesses/injuries improve soon.

Hi to all new members.

My day continued downhill Blush culminating in wine. Must try harder.

buttonmoon78 · 11/08/2010 17:05

Hope your holiday got warmer Dotty!

Right then ladies - this is Buttonmoon signing off for her hols. Really excited - weather looks fab in France so I'll be brown (if still fat) when I get back!

Morning all.

Button have a lovely time.

Will be weighing in later today, when I can get dcs off the wii (raining here). Anyone else?
